- Tammy (3/5): Sucked!! - We did not eat breakfast there. It would have been great if booking.com didn’t show beach houses on the sand. Then when you get there you are in a motel 3 blocks from the beach. Extremely disappointed that you show to different places - owned by the same place. My husband and I are seniors and we can’t walk for long periods at a time. That’s why the location on the beach was perfect, until we realized it wasn’t. Thanks booking.com for ruining our 40th Anniversary!!! We left 2 days early also because of car troubles.

Hassle-free, easy parking and a cozy, artsy lobby with complimentary breakfast. Lovely and simple room decor. Non-Smoking. Comfortable bed. Decent price for proximity to the beach. However… NEGATIVES: No extra security latch on back of room door. Property Maintenance/Attention to detail Is Needed: 1) Brighter business lighting for the main hotel sign would make the building more inviting. 2) Better cleaning is also needed. Found a huge hair wad in bathroom tub drain. 3) Shower faucet lever would not raise fully so that shower head produced full water flow. 4) Broken built-in face bowl strainer. 5) Dirt build-up between floor tiles and around wall outlets and corners of bathroom. 6) Face towel, floor towel, and mid-sized body washing towel were provided, but no full bath towel. 2 beach towels were provided and that’s good. 7) Bathroom ceiling vent filthy with build-up. Clothes closet had a bad smell. Paid through Expedia and was charged an extra $18 processing fee at front desk. Bathroom and kitchenette cabinets need upgrades and protective shellac to guard against salt air. Not a horrible stay but mediocre.

I’m “lettin’ the cat outta’ the bag”, as the saying goes. Why? PRICE! QUALITY! CLEAN! SAFE! QUIET! PARKING! STAFF! LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION! I’m a semi-retired publishing consultant (Scott Publishing Co. Kalispell, MT; Vacation Country Travel Guide) with grandchildren. Best place to get work done and safe and affordable for families. A block from beach or right on beach.

It’s within close walking and/or driving distance to restaurants, markets, and shopping. The location and the view are a 10 out of 10!

My wife and I would have walked away ( non refundable through third party) if we weren’t with friends who booked a different room. Unclean, light bulbs in bathroom shimmed with toilet paper ( yes you read thst right). Stains on sheets, toilet broken, door lock broken, sketchy people, dirty floor. Booking.com and this hotel should be ashamed of themselves. DONT stay here drive an hour away if things are booked up.
- NorthStar58012 (10/5): Wonderful Motel at the Beach! - We have stayed at the Shores Inn several times and have never been disappointed. We are always welcomed like family by Jennifer, and also enjoy the family-like "vibe" of this motel. The rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet, with plenty of free parking. It is only a two minute walk to the beach. We always look forward to returning and have recommended this motel to friends who have also loved it!

- Rafaela (2/5): - This hotel is horrible. The beds were lumpy. The shower was dirty. It had no fire alarm. The service attendant was rude and not at all helpful. We booked and paid for 4 guests but only received two towels and one shampoo and conditioner. It has no air conditioner and only a noisy fan that you are required to use to ensure room does not get stuffy. The window had no screen so even if we had wanted to open the window to let in a breeze it was not safe to do so. I am very disappointed, especially since this was a birthday trip with my 88 year old mother. Will never stay here again.

The bed was comfortable although we received an email saying that we released the owners of any liability of bed bugs. The TV has access to many streaming options. The refrigerator was nice. The room is big When we arrived we were told there was an additional fee because we purchased through booking.com. The room smelled very badly like mold especially the bathroom. Bathtub was patched with duct tape. The fan worked but made a terrible scraping sound so we were unable use it. My husband plugged in his cpap and it blew a fuse. They were unable to fix it so they gave him an extension cord to plug into the bathroom as none of the outlets worked. This also meant we had no light. My husband did not want me to go out of the room because of the questionable activity happening in the rooms next to us.

- Kevin (1/5): Started badly, but improved somewhat having been moved to a better room. - Staff friendly and sorted out issues that were raised. Location good First room was old, tired, very dirty and lacked the facilities that were advertised on Booking.com. The Booking.com website uses the most equipped studio apartment but this does not apply to all the studio apartments. We were moved to a better apartment after the first night. Floors in both apartments were very dirty and could do with a deep clean. The first apartment had a shared balcony which was not listed on booking.com as being shared. Further, the balcony was too small to be shared as it only had one table and two chairs. The breakfast was meagre and looked stale, so we didn't bother. Also had an additional charge added after we had left and despite 3 emails I have yet to receive a response.

I drove down after work, arriving late at night, no one was in the lobby and a note was on the door that said Welcome please call phone number. I called several times with no answer and the voice mail was full so unable to leave message. I even text the number. I ended up having to find a different hotel that night. The next day I received a message saying We do apologize. We can give you credit I’m sorry I should get a full refund!!

I have been staying in the back upstairs in which I have never been. I like it. TV 55" with extension from wall is placed well and gets ALL channels especially with a browser. It has a microwave a small one ,a full size fridge with working ice and cold water in front. A kitchen sink. No stove/oven. There's a very big bed comfy too. A full size closet..a good sized bathroom with dual shower heads and working jacuzzi bath tub! There's one large window next to TV. Fresh towels and bedding available when you want. Five stars! Nice staff!

- Yvette (6/5): - Parking was an issue. The guest were a bit loud but its basically a party area. Great location! Beach two blocks away. The hotel was a bit run down but had it's charm. My only comlaint was parking and a not so great running toilet, a plugged tub and no A/C. Otherwise friendly staff and great location. don't expect the Marriot, it has an old beach charm to it.
- Alejandra (6/5): - Great location. Wish rooms were cleaner, and more fans accessible for people staying. Customer service aspect, we had to wait for someone to come and help us. We called and no one answered, open sign was posted on door but no one was inside, no sign stating they would return shortly. Quite a bit frustrating when your trying to check in.

- 401santanah (10/5): Grandpa Knows Best - Ventura. WOW! California’s best kept secret includes the Shores Inn. A $300 to $500 a night value for half that. ONE BLOCK FROM THE BEACH! With a lifeguard to watch my grandkids. The staff is so great, that’s why I say A++! FIVE STARS! Very clean, mgreat parking and the staff made me feel very safe and welcome. A bit..”nostalgic”, because personally, I’ll take 1970’s prices at a place that feels like I’ve gone back in time to the 70’s & 80’s. If you like paying double for brand new everything go elsewhere. Shores is Ventura. Charm, character, a little repair here and there, yes-location & VALUE, DEFINITELY. A long review, but that’s grandpa, and my aunt, uncle, cousins are all schoolteachers & lifelong Ventura residents. Miss 70s & 80s USA? Here it is. Thank you Shore’s staff! Warmly, Grandpa Santana

- Wander813920 (10/5): Cute! - The perfect place for an extended stay. Do no judge a book by its cover! Shores Inn is a cute eclectic Inn with a retro vintage vibe feel. Its clean and the staff is super friendly. Make sure to get your informtion at desk for all your needs before you check in and everythig will be all good. Reminds me of your retro Aunt's vacation studio!! It's a 2 minute walk to the beach with places to eat during social hours. Beds are compfy!

- G1504BQsophias (10/5): Thoroughly satisfying! - This was by far the most enjoyable hotel experience I’ve had in a very long time! Really reasonably priced, especially considering it is almost right on the beach! It is surrounded by choices of eateries and the atmosphere is definitely relaxing. The room was quaint and homey, had a large screen tv and even had a selection of books for leisurely reading. The bathtub was a seat tub with jets (though the jets did not work the depth of the tub still made for a comfortable bath) The towels were not the typical motel towels which added a layer of home style comfort. The hotel is a non-smoking facility but is kind enough to offer a designated smoking section, as welll as outdoor tables and a BBQ for patron use! I didn’t like the $50 pet fee PER NIGHT. I think that it might be more fair if it were a refundable pet deposit, however as many other hotels don’t allow pets at all I would still absolutely return in spite of the fee. It boasts of an included breakfast which was a bit of a stretch as there were only bagels (no cream cheese) and juice but it still was a nice thought. Some coffee with flavored creamer would have drove it home for me but over all I would definitely recommend this place and it was less expensive than motel six and way more comfortable!

- robbynb653 (2/5): A really cool local block with a nightmare at the end of the corner - This place will rip you off they will make you give a security deposit and then after you do a security deposit walk through at the end of your stay and they give you your money back they will run your credit card that you never gave them and try and steal your money they also serve food and nobody there has any serving credentials they just put food out in the morning they don't realize that you have to have food handling after I was treated in the manner that I was I asked her to speak to somebody who might be in charge and owner somebody Jen Nance that blonde haired lady I don't know who she is but she's not the owner and she refused to tell me who was in charge cuz it she's just there she's not an owner she's I don't know what she is but I know she ran my credit card twice I had to file fraudulent charges and most likely make a police report because that woman is a thief whoever owns or is the proprietor the true proprietor of that place I would love them to contact me I tried to leave messages I sent text nothing so I'm only left to do one thing after she ran my card fraudulently she tried to tell me this was the room I stayed in if this was the room I stayed in why the hell didn't you clean it on the regular basis I also asked for cleaning service again I stayed there 28 days my room was not cleaned once not once if I travel with a dog shame shame shame on Jen Nance... The second pictures are my actual room. And this establishment ran my card at 9:00 in the evening after I had checked out and already received my deposit back these people are criminal don't stay there even though it's a great location beautiful spot right next to the social tab these people are disgusting I actually feel raped and what makes this so sad is I literally spent thousands of dollars in that 28-day period. scum! I would give a negative million if I could I had to give one star just to be able to post this how ridiculous
- Sumer (2/5): Bad bad bad! Not what its cracked up to be - The place on the app dipicts clean beachfront poperty. There was no keys available for our room so we kept having to borrow the managers key and bring it back to her immediately. It was really run down. No a/c in the room they had a small fan that was plugged in. No towels. We asked the front desk if they had shampoo and conditioner and she opened up a childs apple smelling hair,face and body shampoo and poured it in a clear plastic glass. I had to refund everyones money who came with me as we split it 4 ways. I felt bad and embarrassed as this was a buisness trip we had no view and everyone was loud and the window had no screens and it was so hot in the room but i didnt feel safe enough to leave a window open.

They had to go find a random one to give us. Nothing worked, everything was dirty and gross. Tub was worthless. No coffee just a dirty gross coffee pot.

By 5 pm 6 commercal.trucks with10 worker checked in and drank beer in plain sight of office until 11:20.At 4:20 am all guest were woke up them warming up their diesels.people on 2nd were yelling ..At 8:am I told the office I was checking out because my wife and I would not do that 2 nights in a row. The man behind me agreed with everything I said at the office .After 5 days no refund or call from management with apology..

Didn’t hold water. There were reports of bed bugs, but I didn’t see any. There was no parking available so I had to park on an alley. The curtains were faded and uneven.
- Raul (2/5): Scary Place to stay - Don’t stay here it’s a joke! This place was awful didn’t even stay 10 min in the room!!!! We left checked out asap .. The pictures online are photoshopped, it’s down the street from the beach pictures show it right on the beach. You walk in the room there’s so many holes in the walls it feels like your being video recorded, they have a cabinet with Ethernet cables falling out probably surveillance for the room . The bed was so stained it was gross.. they won’t refund my money I pre paid, maybe they can use it to buy a new bed and sheets! The bed was as bad as the rest of the place you sink to the floor it’s so old! Pubic hairs in the tub, the little fridge was repaired by “I can do it cheaper” had rust 😬 thought I was gonna get Tetanus. The plug next to the tub in the room is a shock hazard not up to code & broken this place doesn’t take any pride in the upkeep . I should have stuck with my gut instinct and stayed away from this place! Motel 6 looked nicer as I drove off .

I requested bottom floor due to disabled adults and hotel unable to accommodate. No daily check from housekeeping for any needs.parking was sparse if you went out and returned after 2pm. There free breakfast was a joke!..positive it was by the beach.
