Guest Reviews
- Andy (1/5): I want a refund! - The location was great, parking was easy. The staff were polite and helpful. The bed linen was clean. They are all the positives. The room was way below expected standards considering the price we paid. £226 for 1 night.
The heating wasn’t working in our room. They tried to fix it but not good enough.
Upon entry there was a terrible stale stagnant water were smell from the bathroom.
There was no telephone, no hair dryer, no ironing facilities, no modern charging points.
The tv would not connect securely to the signal and kept dropping out. The remote had no back on one and no batteries in the other.
The sash windows could not be secured properly and rattled throughout the night.
The standards throughout are poor. Not value for money, not consistent with the images portrayed. Sadly, the reviews on trip advisor are more consistent with the low quality of this hotel.
- daniel (1/5): Terrible hotel - The location Everything.
It was disgustingly dirty
- Riabczynska (9/5): - Everything
- Willow (2/5): Do not stay here. - It was close to Hove Beach The hygiene and cleanliness of the hotel rooms were atrocious. Our room was never cleaned before hand. We had a drawn full of tea bags, a lanyard and a personal letter that was left behind and another draw with peanuts on which was very dangerous for us as we had someone with nut allergies. Our radiator dial was broke off and left in middle of floor so was boiling all night. Staff were ok but a little unorganised with checking in. There were hand prints in the room smeared on the wall. Our complimentary tea and coffee tray was pretty much empty and for a quadruple room that we paid for was not worth it what so ever. There was only 3 towels given, one cup and a chair by mirror with no actual seat. I think that someone could potentially get ill from this hotel as its hygiene is horrendous. Would NOT re staying here at all.

- Copplestone (10/5): -
- Justine (9/5): -
- Jackie (1/5): I had to put something up against my door, didn’t feel safe. People up and down corridor all night. - There should be a contact number for reception. People shouting outside my door. Didn’t sleep all night. Won’t stay here again. There was also a faulty plug socket hanging off the wall
- Miah (6/5): -
- Roman (7/5): -
- Ken (9/5): Good value for £45 and walking distance into central Brighton - I was expecting a lot worse than £45, but easy check-in, warm room, clean bathroom, the interior could do with updating, but I’m not going to complain for £45 had a nice large room with lots of space, TV and wifi, I think a lot of the ratings on this hotel have been unfair, if you want a five star hotel, you have to pay five star Hotel prices Seemed like some guys were just hanging out a reception, might have been Staff? Unsure.

-room wasn’t very clean
-water was lukewarm for showering
- Phillip (1/5): -
- Michael (5/5): OK, inexpensive - location, comfy bed noisy toilet cistern with constantly dribbling water was intrusive when trying to sleep. Just needs a new seal to fix it.
- PE (1/5): - None Too dirty and no towel provided
- Ian (1/5): Awful experience - This was the WORST hotel that we have experienced ever. We have contacted booking.com separately re this. It was so dirty that we actually left the function we had come down for early and drove home to London as we were unable to stay. The staff were unfriendly. Tap dripping, last guests underwear stuck down side of chest of drawers, dirty towels bed linen. Room smelt of smoke. Missing bathroom accessories . No plug in sink heating not working. Absolutely shocking. The most terrible experience that will stop us from ever using or recommending your website. We have requested a refund via an email. Thank you Everything. Dirty filthy place
- Anne (5/5): Not sure if I would stay here again 🤔 - The bed was comfy and huge. That was the best part of the room. The wardrobe door didn't close and the know on door came off. There was no spoon in the room for me to stir my cup of tea. The shower didn't work properly.

- Anders (8/5): -
- Mohammed (1/5): -
- Ellen (3/5): Last resort - Staff were nice and friendly and there always seems to be someone at reception if you need anything, located next to a really nice brunch place and close to the sea and beach huts The hotel is really smelly, absolutely stank of stale cigarette smoke and weed (the weed smell was worse in the morning. Hotel is covered in stains and the bed sheets did not smell like they’d been washed (but maybe that was because of the general stink.)
- Adina (4/5): - The location was good for the purposes of my short visit. There were no towels in the room nor soap.
- Daniel (10/5): I stay often, staff are very helpful and friendly -
- Abi (7/5): Value for money, no bells and whistles, exceeded my expectations, very pleasant stay - Great value for money no bells and whistles but everything you need for an impromptu extra nights stay as was ours - big room - clean - lovely light due to 2 big windows in the room - opened out to a wee balcony - look right and you see the sea :) situated next to a cute booshy lil cafe - staff were friendly and cheerful and helpful - plenty of parking available for a reasonable price - the staff even offered to help keep a watch on my car whilst we unloaded - didn't match my expectations for the price EXCEEDED THEM - would stay again Unfortunately the room did smell a little of cigarettes but we opened up the balcony windows so this didn't make our stay any less enjoyable
- JEROME (2/5): disappointment with a cold shower - Decent bed Average welcome
Outdated room
No hot water in the morning for our group of 13 people
- Simon (1/5): Worst I’ve ever stayed in! - Nothing The photos in the ads do not depict what the hotel is actually like. The people working there are rude and not willing to help. The common areas in the foyer and bar area were dirty and the bar not in operation. There were rolls of carpet in the bar area. The room smelt disgusting and the ensuite was even worse. We were on the top floor and the windows were close to the floor and could be opened enough to fall out! Extremely dangerous for children. We were also greeted by pidgins and a seagull in the morning when inside the room as the room had no ventilation or aircon so we had to keep the windows open. When we returned after dinner we wanted to relax and watch tv but the tv didn’t work and when I asked about it there wasn’t anything they would do about it. Then we tried to have a shower but it wouldn’t work either.
I went to reception to inform them and had to wait 15 minutes before they could help me. They did come and got the shower working but was terrible pressure and went from hot to cold every few seconds. The bathroom was dirty and smelt terrible. It didn’t feel like you were any cleaner after being in there. The beds are not in good condition and the chair in the room had bird poo on it . They did find us a tv that worked but by that stage it was too late. The entire place was horrible dirty and stinky. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It’s the worst place I’ve booked through booking.com and would suggest that it’s taken off the booking.com website.
- Aadit (6/5): Good stay for the price - Good staff. Very kind. Always smiling receptionist. Needs a little renovation.
- Ross (7/5): Despite my criticisms above I shall be using the hotel again.. - The room was generally clean, functional and warm. And I appreciated the complimentary soaps even though this was a very budget room. I wasn't expecting too much. However there were one or two things that could be improved on. The tv wasn't working and there was no remote. There was also no plugs for either bath or basin. When I mentioned this to staff they were very obliging and got it sorted. But only issued a bath plug. The bath was gritty with decorators debris; flakes of paint and filler etc so I had to clean it. There was no bathmat for the floor at first, which soon became slippery, it turned up later! I appreciate this was a cheap room but a few extras would have tipped it into a real bargain status with better review. Things like maybe an extra cushion, pillow or blanket in the wardrobe, a hook or two on back of doors or in bathroom, for clothes or towel, there was nowhere to put a wet towel other then the radiator which wasn't on, proper hangers in the wardrobe, a smaller handtowel along with the one issued.
I'd like to say though that the staff were very obliging when I mentioned I needed a plug and telly attended to. And the room was generally adequate considering the price. I shall go again.
- Stephen j adams (8/5): Great - Room was spotless clean and had a little balcony aswell Nothing
- timothy (8/5): - Good basic hotel. Clean sheets, warm room. No frills. Friendly staff. On the basics side, but good value for money.

- Kallely (8/5): - Calmness Toilet door locked it's difficult to open
- Marina (2/5): -
- Coatings (5/5): -
- Gerald (5/5): Not a particularly comfortable room. Good number of beds. - It was nicely positioned Not well appointed. No bath mat , shower flooded floor. Badly fitted shower. Main door lock came
loose.
- Kevin (5/5): Only good just to sleep if your staying in good luck - From the outside looks ok and located about half hour walk to the main attractions Such a shame the place needs investment and a deep clean curtains not hanging properly holes in them most of the complainants I have can be done with some paint new stuff and a proper diy person not that knows what there doing it’s there but needs a massive investment so so run down
- Len (4/5): UNFORTUNETY HAD TO LEAVE EARLY - iVE TRIED TO TELL YOU THAT I HAD TO LEAVE EARLY i BOOKED AND PAYED FOR FOR 3 NIGHTS

- ThanetMag (7/5): - Helpful staff. Warm, plentiful hot water. Comfortable bed Curtains not closing properly. Wardrobe door wouldn't close.
- Valdas (1/5): - Not like Not like
- Crawford (5/5): Adequate for overnight stays. Lacking in comfort and facilities - Good location Facilities were basic
- Ross (6/5): It was adequate for the price we paid. - A little more attention to detail would have raised our impression.. Eg room was for 2 adults but there was only one glass. No plug in basin. No extras in wardrobe, like pillows or blanket. Our fan in the bathroom was permanently on until staff switched it off. Unfortunately there was a smell of drains in bathroom. Some coat hooks in the room would have been helpful.
- Jon (4/5): Nice staff. Comfy beds. Warm. But the small things that are wrong can be fixed so easily and cheaply - Hallway light bulb not functioning. Glass shelf in bathroom missing so no place to put items like toothbrush. Coffee and milk provided but no stick or spoon to stir with.

- Gaynor (6/5): - The location is good near bus stops and shops. No bedside lamp. Sink plug. Tv had to be programed in digitally which i had to have done.
- Stephen (3/5): Overpriced and shabby - Location as it was a short walk from home Noisy children playing on the stairs, room had odd mishmash of furniture tv perched on a small table. The bathroom had horrible smell of drains, place is a bit shabby.
