Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The villa was great and very spacious. Clean and large bathroom, comfy bed and awesome private pool. Aircon could've been slightly better, but overall it was fantastic
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good location, lovely staff, breakfast was average, room was very dirty... pulled back sheets and there were bugs and stains all through the bed so had to get them replaced, and the ones they replaced them with had stains too. All the pool towels and bath towels had stains on them too. Maybe they need to invest in new sheets and towels?... Shower flooded because drain would always block, and smelt like sewer so had to get fixed multiple times. Kitchen was soooo filthy we weren’t game enough to even touch it... the pool was nice though and staff were really lovely. And had to wear bug spray to bed because the villas doors don’t seal completely and sooo many mosquitoes come in..
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good: location, service, private pool villa, quiet
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The hospitality of the staff, property facilities, everything was perfect. Ordered room service very late at night and the food was delicious. Thank you so much.
- Malcolm (10/5): - Fantastic place to chill with the friendliest staff you will ever meet.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - La Villais Kamojang was within a 3-5 minute walk to Seminyak square, some really nice restaurants, shopping and about a 10 minute walk to the beach. We had a 6 year old so it took a little longer. Staff were extremely polite, friendly and spoke above average english which made it more relaxing. the restaurant at the hotel was on the roof, so the breakfast view was great. The food menu is actually really good which did suprise us as the hotel isn't the most modern we have stayed in in Bali. The Nasi Kampour is the best. My daughter loved the rice even with its spices. I would of purchased it every meal at ($6 AUD)as it was delicious but as i found, so were many other things. The pool was very relaxing and we often had it to ourselves. The swim up bar was quiet and didn't look fancy, but they had every cocktail on the list in the foyer bar which was only 5 meters away so not an issue for us.The toilet in our room leaked and that was annoying, but i didn't complain, so cant complain now about their opportunity to resolve my one and only issue. My son was sick on our second last day and they serviced the room twice for us with fresh sheets and towels etc. (He had not eaten at Kamojang so his illness was not related to the hotel). For the money we paid, we recieved way more bang for our buck than anywhere else we have stayed in Bali previously and found it a stress free holiday as we had only gone because our son had booked schoolies. We usually go in July/August.
- Alvin (4/5): Pretty disappointed for a restful getaway. - Initial impression upon check-in was still pleasant until sleeping in for the first night. The villa was infested with mosquitoes even with everything closed up and room hosed down with insecticide. The incessant bites resulted in bad sleep for the 3 nights. Shower was choked on 2nd day and only cleared the next day. Wifi was down at the end of second day and only resolved on day of checking out. Breakfast area was overcrowded and I think you can imagine what happens from that. Food was decent but that was about it. Have other not so good experiences but I think this suffices. Been to Bali close to 10 times and this is the first time I have something like this to say about an accomodation in Bali.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good location but dated hotel. Good for on a budget
- CHENG (4/5): - Dirt on blanket, bed sheet, suspected bed bug also. lots of mosquito
- Harry792 (6/5): Tired and forgotten - Great friendly staff, owners need to spend a little money to bring back to original state, towels and bed linen WELL past use by date , staff are trying hard to maintain but sadly losing the battle... .. Turn off the pool lights and cabana lights ( on 24/7) and buy some new towels ! Simple maths, tell people about your roof top bar, it's a lost gem in a thriving area that no one knows exists
- Bill (6/5): Old and run down - The buildings and facilities at this complex are run down and old. The bedroom had mould on the ceiling, paint peeling off in every room, the towels were old and had stains on them, day bed mattress and chair in room had stains on them, ceiling in hotel dining room had very bad mould and was peeling off.
Room service was non existent: I asked 3 times on 3 separate days for more tea bags and coffee satchels. They never got delivered. Eventually found their stash and helped myself, rang for some ice and ice bucket one night and was told to come and get it myself as he was not prepared to deliver to room. Housekeeping took 4 used towels one day and only replaced 2 towels. Asked for more towels to be delivered one afternoon and never got them, so went looking and found their supply room and helped myself.
Staff were very friendly but not very helpful, complex is in need of a major update and refurbishment but is in a good location.
We stayed in a villa which was approx. 230m walk to reception.
- John (8/5): nice but can do with a bit better lighting - nice but can do with a bit better lighting in the rooms but then again most of Bali is the same otherwise was quiet nice, water pressure in the shower was poor
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Generally very good. Towels were always stained and of a poor quality.
- Peter (10/5): Great Villas, great location. - My 7th time in Bali and I've gotta say the villas location was great, peaceful and quite with no construction near by as the villas are at the back, the shopping stores/cafes were around the corner and close enough to walk to the beach clubs.
Next Time I go to Bali I will stay there.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The location was good, the hotel staff amazing, the view on the rooftop bar was good too. The private pool villa was very pretty and just what I was after.
I was disappointed by the cleanliness of the room, and the mosquito net, and the fact mosquitos were all through the place including the shower.
- Ros (2/5): Looks nice - The hotel on the internet looked great, but once there is was disappointing as the rooms were very dated.
The staff came and cleaned every day but didn't clean very well. We got them to change rooms as we had
"BED BUGS" and ended with red dots all over. Would not stay there again. And the pool bottom went green.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice rooms however could have better with attention to detail in regards to cleanliness and trades work (very rough paint & plastering jobs, bad lighting; makes the room feel cheap for what we paid). Staff were lovely and it was in a good location, pretty much walked everywhere from our villa.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - After a false start (the room needing a better clean) we had a wonderful time. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and the location was perfect.
- Tiffany (6/5): Villa style holiday - Great place but desperately needs some renovation. You can tell this was once a very luxurious resort but really dated now
- Nigeld (6/5): Great Villas at La Villais - This hotel is still good, but not what it used to be before the change of ownership. The multi story at the front of the hotel has ruined the ambience of the place and taken privacy away from the Villas closest to the reception area. The WiFi is terrible which is frustrating, but we still love the villas. This was our second visit and was not as enjoyable as the first, so I am not sure that we would go back again. The staff are still extremely helpful and excellent as before
- Kenneth (4/5): Old and uncomfortable - The room was well equipped but everything is old. Deck chairs look disgusting, tv has poor reception, furnitures were old and faulty and telephone doesn't work very well. Only good thing that comes out of this place is the nice and attentive staff. Will not stay at this place again!
- Brendan (8/5): Nice Villa's close to Seminyak square and Eat Stre - Great location. Clean and tidy hotel and villa's. Getting a little old but still nice and clean. Big very usable space in the villa with a great pool and plenty of space for sun baking. Air con in bedroom is tired but works. All the staff are amazing. Great bed very comfy King bed.
- tom (4/5): Grand hardy - Stayed in one bedroom villa found it not very clean and very outdated with the bedside the furniture being chipped and not well kept. So many mosquitos as there was a gap in the wall and under the door.
- Mat (8/5): Great villas, clean and not far from the square - Our Villa 34C had great sun coverage by the day bed and sun lounges from early until around 2pm.
Staff very friendly and helpful as you'd expect. Quiet place with no noise from outside the complex. At the rear entrance was a 7/11 which was handy too. Would definitely stay again.
- John (8/5): Overall, a nice place to stay. - The was villa was good, the private pool was great and the staff were excellent. The only let down, and a BIG issue for me, was the shower. The water pressure was very weak. And worse still, the temperature would go from burning hot, to cold all the time. We brought this to their attention on day one, and they had an attempt to fix it, but it was not fixed and nothing further was done about it. I managed to try the shower in another hotel room and it was pretty much the same story. You have to run around the shower to get wet while having a break every 5 seconds as it gets too hot. As per previous reviews, I think they have some significant plumbing issues to deal with, but they just haven't sorted it out. Such a shame, as it was the only downside.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - My girlfriend and I had an amazing stay at Grand Hardys Villa. Overly friendly and helpful staff, so close to main areas of Seminyak (just a 10 minute walk to Seminyak square!), and great restaurants nearby. Would highly recommend this hotel and if you're looking for luxury as well as value for money in Bali.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice villa close to Seminyak square - We had a great experience, the villa was beautiful, facilities great And service exceptional.
- Korelli (8/5): Hotel close to everything, Great staff and Villas - La Villais Villas is a great villa definitely recommend staying here I'll start with the pro's then the cons
Pros; Staff were very friendly easy to approach ready to help. Buffet breakfast i thought was great! its like having lunch for breakfast. Rooms were very spacious. Bed was comfortable. Air-con was also good!. Room service meals were also delicious and great definitely recommend! and the private pool iv course was awesome.
Cons; Mosquitos!!! there is a mosquito net provided but is held on by velcro and fell off easily so we called the staff about 5x to fix the mosquito net as it was very high. Room is abit tired some of the fixtures and utensils weren't very clean make sure you check room possibly before you stay in the room to see if you can move into another room especially we had a big problem with the shower head and the water pressure going from hot to cold was bit annoying bring this up with the reception and they got someone to come look and it sounds like its normal there with the cylinder like I said I saw these as reviews but didn't think it was as much of a big deal but sometimes it is.
Overall a GREAT hotel but things to work on. This is a 4 star hotel... I really think it can be a 5 or 4 1/2 star hotel if all these cons were attended too
- Gek Seng (8/5): Lighting. - The room need more lighting. I know that low light will be more romantic, but not all people will like low lighting.
- Lynette (6/5): Not SO Grand the Grand La Villais Villas - Understandably this accommodation property is currently undergoing maintenance update/keep. We had villa with private pool. Reception staff (ie Juli) totally attentive to guests needs (Thank you). Gardener on the other hand was not backwards each day in describing his plight into the poor house and hinting for a hand out. Which may we add, we would have gladly given him but to be so forward he received nothing. Pool was great, but if you have knee or hip problems stepping out of the pool is a MAJOR issue. LaVillais is only a short walk to busy eat street, where there is an abundance of choices of restaurants/cafes/bars. Then again if only LaVillais advertised their BBQ buffet night there would be more than 10 guests for the whole evening. We found this by accident and were pleasantly surprised.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Will return! Can't wait!! - We stayed in the villas for 5 days and were sad to leave. The pictures for the one bedroom villa didn't do it justice when we first walked through the gate. Wow factor just with the pool alone. Bed was comfy, only drawback was the bugs!! So many mosquitoes really let down the comfort as they came in the net around the bed and through the door crack. Regardless we will happily return
- RJ (6/5): Conflicted review - We stayed in a villa and it was great. Great location - 2 minute walk to Eat Street where all the restaurants and shops are, but slightly moved back so it's more quiet. Great breakfast and the hotel staff were very friendly.
The only downside, and unfortunately it really affected our experience, are the mosquito nets. Yes, the rooms do have mosquito nets which is very much needed. However, they do not completely close. Instead of the mosquito nets hanging from the bed in a full circle, it is more u-shaped, which means that the mosquitoes can still enter the net. We were completely attacked and did not sleep for the entire 2 days we stayed there. The first night, one of the corners fell from the hanging and we suffered because of this. We did speak with the hotel and they did fix it. But again, the nets don't completely close. They do fumigate the rooms every night but it didn't do much for us. And we went in the dry season, so I would hate to see what it's like in the wet season.
We really want to give this place a great review because the villa was great and in a perfect location. However, for us, the mosquito nets really let it down.
- Gerry (10/5): Lovely Hotel in a great location. Great staff - Grand La Villais is a very friendly, happy hotel to stay. Easy walk to the main area for eating and shopping. An easy walk to the beach. We love staying here and will definitely be back. Just love the Villas, as that is where we stay every time we are in Seminyak.
- luke (6/5): Looking a little tired - Great location just behind the main Seminyak st - we stayed in a villa at the back of the hotel - great pool and amenities just the entire place needs to be refreshed as it is ageing.
- Lee (10/5): Beautiful Honeymoon!! - We waited five years to finally go on our honeymoon and this hotel was PERFECT!! We had a one room villa and it was heavenly! Only a quick 2 minute walk to the main Seminyak restaurant and boutique strip, so no taksi rides necessary to find a great restaurant. The staff were all wonderful and so eager to make our stay special. Our villa was nice and quiet. The bed was HUGE and really comfy. Each villa has a big bottle of filtered water in the kitchen so there's no need to endlessly be buying little bottles. There are mosquitos at night anywhere near water in Bali, but the hotel staff do the rounds each evening and spray the rooms and close mosquito nets so they weren't really a problem. We would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel…great value for money and brilliant location!!
- Mieux (8/5): This is a tough one to review-there's good and bad - There are some very good and very not-so-good parts to Grand La Villais.
The Good:
1. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful to the point of being a delight.
2. The private villa pool was large, crystal clean and a pleasure to swim in.
3. The bed was firm and very comfortable.
4. The location is ideal. You're about a 400 metre walk (a couple of minutes) to the main street in Seminyak where there are shops and restaurants galore.
5. The beach is a 10 minute walk away.
6. The included breakfast was delicious with lots of choice from omelets made-to-order, to Asian food, to sausages, bacon and eggs to fresh fruit, bread, cereal and pastries.
7. Despite being in a very busy part of Seminyak, Grand La Villais is very quiet and there were no issues with noise while trying to sleep.
The Not So Good:
1. Cleanliness wasn't a priority in the bathroom.
2. The furnishings in the villa, in particular in the kitchen, were in desperate need of replacing. Drawers didn't open properly, doors coming off.
3. Several light bulbs were already blown when I arrived
4. Mosquito spray was supplied but some coils would have been nice.
5. The lock was broken on one of the large windows which meant the villa was not only not secure, but also that mosquito's could get in the gap (and get in they did).
6. The kitchen is small with minimal crockery/cookware (not such an issue as there are so many great restaurants to go to).
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Have stayed here before and would stay again. Very good location which is away from the bustle of the main street but still close enough to walk to most of the places we wanted to go to. This was important with kids in a pram which made taxis more difficult.
- CT (8/5): Relaxing ambience centralise location private - Excellent and attentive staff, who are friendly and hospitable as well. Villa is very comfortable and secluded. The private pool and lounge and king size bed are really enjoyable.
Would be great if they change their breakfast buffet menu a little
Otherwise all good.
- Lillian (10/5): Great location, close to everywhere - My husband and I wanted a few days where we could either stay in our villa do our own thing or get out into the hustle and bustle if we felt like it. Our 1 bedroom villa with private pool and kitchen was perfect to just spend time together, when we felt like going out to eat, we got on our motor bike or could have even walked and within a few minutes could be amongst it.
- Ashliegh (10/5): - Our villa was beautiful! The location was very central and the staff were all very kind. The only suggestion would be that staff aren't made to offer the Spa services each morning at breakfast.
- Tracey (10/5): Fantastic - From Start to Finish - My partner and I stayed in Villa B18 for 10 nights in March. From the moment we were picked up from the airport to leaving everything was fantastic, breakfast each morning was good, the location was superb, close enough to everything but far enough away from any noise. The Villa itself was clean, very comfortable (including the bed) and the pool was to die for.
All the staff here were great, nothing was too much trouble and everyone had a smile on their face and made us feel very welcome. We are planning a return trip in September and will definitely stay here again. Thanks to everyone making our trip very special. Tracey & Freddy
- Vicky (8/5): Excellent private 1 bedroom villa - the staff were amazing - friendly, welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. A great location within walking distance of everything.
- Sarah (10/5): Paradise in your private little world - Love the villa! Gorgeous room and spent a lot of time in our private pool. The staff were amazing and we made use of the room service for pool side cocktails. Perfect!
- Carissa (10/5): Best Seminyak Villas - This was our second stay at La Villais and we really enjoyed it. The staff were so friendly and attentive and went out of our way to make us feel welcome. I love the central location of these villas - a short walk to Seminyak's eat street but still so quiet. We will definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel in a good location - Bedroom and living area very comfortable. Staff friendly and seem to want to please.
- Karen (10/5): 'Home away from home' where "everyone is family" - My daughter and I spent a lovely week at Grand La Villais Villas in Seminyak. Our villa, with private pool, was exactly like the photographs and the staff were friendly, attentive and very helpful. The daily service to our room and garden was exceptional. I would definitely stay here again and definitely recommend La Villais to other travellers. In an email I received it stated "where everyone is family" and I couldn't agree more, we felt like family and now consider this our 'home' away from home. Every need or request was attended to promptly. Excellent!!
- Denisr (8/5): Lovely villa with very friendly staff. - Great location within walking distance of Seminyak Square. Thoroughly enjoyed having our win villa and private pool.
- Kurt Reiter (10/5): I surprise find on Expedia - A truly wonderful resort with amazing staff and support in an amazing location. I've stayed in more luxurious places but there is no doubt that there is amazing value for experience here.
- Ericson (10/5): super quiet environment, Highly recommended - There is very clean of the swimming pool and bath tube.
The room is not bright at all.
Super quiet environment, provide professional airport transport service.
