• Fabian (9/5): Very good service, located next to the pacific and a long beach for a walk. Conbini very closeby and easy acces to publi - Staff were very friendly and pro active. Breakfast and dinner were very good and the hotel offered a lot of variation. Onsen was also very nice. The onsen could use a good maintenance session.

The buffet breakfast and dinner is extensive and tasted amazing. Fukushima-san at the restaurant is very friendly, even greet us in our native language Indonesia Not much to do around
• SUMIKO (8/5): 温泉の湯、ロケーションが最高！ - 大浴場や露天風呂の湯が気持ちよく、そこから見える海側の景色が最高✨ 街側の部屋の予約だったのが、海側の部屋に変更になっていて、部屋からの景色もとても良かった😊 食事会場の案内の方が、笑顔で優しくおすすめの料理等の説明をしてくださって、大満足の食事ができた😄 部屋のテレビで映るのが２局しかなかった。 部屋の電気の小球がつかなかった。 食事会場や大浴場から出た時のロビーへの見やすい案内板等が欲しかった。 大浴場の更衣室が寒かった。

• Hiroshi (7/5): - 函館空港へ向かうバス停が近く、アクセス良好。部屋から海や、函館山も眺めることができた。 歯ブラシなどアメニティが部屋になかった。チェックイン時に案内が無かったが、フロントにあったのかもしれない。朝早いチェックアウトだったため、確認できなかった。

• Felicity (9/5): Wonderful onsen hotel - We had a lovely stay at Yunohama Hotel. The room was spotless and beautiful, with stunning views of the sea. We opened the window and could hear the sea in the night (though the double glazing is very effective if you prefer to keep it warm/quiet). I had an exceptionally relaxing night's sleep. The onsen was peaceful and I enjoyed the view of the sea in the outdoor onsen immensely. I believe the set up is slightly different for the men and women's onsen, but my husband and I both really enjoyed what we experienced. We had the buffet dinner in the restaurant which (in April 2025) was 3300 yen (about £16 per person) excluding drinks and was excellent value for the quality of food, including local specialities like squid sashimi. We also had the breakfast which we had pre paid for, which was similarly good. The staff were very friendly, kind and helpful. Although most people didn't seem to speak much English the hotel made it work, and they had printed hotel information for us in English too, which I thought was very helpful. Some of the staff were particularly kind, offering to take pictures and asking us about our life back home. The location by the sea is very nice, and it's quite quick to get into Hakodate. We took a taxi but I think you can also take a bus. It's very near to Hakodate botanical garden which is worth a short visit for the onsen-bathing monkeys in the winter months. We really liked everything. The decor is a bit dated in communal areas but honestly that feels like a very small negative in what was overall a lovely experience.

• Max (8/5): Not a bad choice if you want to experience Onsen hotel - Traditional Japanese rooms with Onsen (not the type you see in the magazine). The outdoor Onsen is facing the sea so you get impressive view from there. Many families and friends here, not so many solo travellers (it must be really sad to stay at an Onsen hotel alone like me lol). Good hygiene and hospitality. The hotel must be quite old and near the sea so the rooms smell like basement and lights were quite dimmed. It’s also located far from the city (~15min bus) and there’s almost nothing around, great if you just want to have some peaceful time. The wardrobe is a bit messy with some creepy objects I dare not to touch 😂

• Ichiro (7/5): great sea view from the window and brilliant open air spa. - old but well cleaned (average level in japan) i found a hear in the bathroom when i used it for the first time. it must be the person ‘s hear who stayed the room in advance.
• Ellen (9/5): A lovely relaxing stay with great food! - The room was nice, had everything I needed with a lovely view of the ocean. I had both the breakfast and dinner buffet and it was lovely! Most of the staff didn’t speak much English but were lovely and helpful and we figured everything out just fine. The onsen was great, especially the outside bath. Everything was clean and seemed well maintained. You’re allowed to smoke in the room, and it could definitely be smelled. It was horrible, but noticeable for sure. The building is also somewhat old which does shine through a little bit despite it being clean and well-maintained.

• Leslie (10/5): Great food, onsen, and views! - I was informed when I booked that their buffet would not be running for two of the nights that I had booked, however they would still provide me with a set meal. I was blown away by the quality of these set meals, and by the buffet when it resumed on my last day. Both the set meals and the buffet had a wide range of Japanese and Western-style foods. The onsen had a beautiful view, and my room also had a great view of the ocean. The location of the hotel is a little far from the train station and ferry terminal, so I do recommend renting a car, or being prepared to walk a bit to the tram or bus stop. As well, the tatami futons were a little hard on my back.

• Verified traveler (10/5): 古き良き温泉旅館風ホテル - ややレトロな内装ですが、この特級のホテルとして設備・サービスでおよそ不満な点は出ないかと思います。温泉は高級施設に叶わずとも長く開いており不足もないかと。 食事は最もエコノミーであろうビュッフェでも十分美味しいです。その他複数あるレストランはもっとよかったかもしれませんが。 惜しむらくはチェックイン・チェックアウトはやや時間のかかるところで、この点よくも悪くも「昔ながら」の宿泊施設かもしれません。

• EUN YOUNG (8/5): 최고의 온천당 - 제공된 식사도 아주 좋았습니다. 특히 바다 전경과 파도 소리를 들을수 있는 대욕탕은 최고였습니다.

• Stephen (4/5): - When booking, no choice for smoking or nonsmoking, so I assumed default as nonsmoking. When arrived, I realized that all are smoking. Front desk staff do not speak even simply English. Difficult to communicate with Hotel staff. Carpet in elevator must haven’t been shampooed for attended time - the dirtiest one I personally experienced in Japan. The floor of Japnese style room may have small insects, my wife got some skin rash on her arm. The hot Springs bath is unconvinencely separated the indoor section from open air section. You must put on your clothes to go through a public hallway to switch from the indoor to open air, which is not a typical in Onsen hotel in Japan. The fence of the open air section blocks the view of ocean, so you may unable to enjoy the said ocean view. Not recommended.
• Verified traveler (6/5): 温泉は泉質がよくて満足 - 施設は全般的に古いですが温泉はよいです。大浴場は広く、男女入替制ですが海側の風呂は解放感もあります（窓の下の方がくすんでいるのはちょっとだけ残念ですが）。露天風呂は離れた場所にありますが複数回入る分には特に問題ありません。食事は会場・内容ともにちょっと残念な感じでした。

• kenichi (8/5): 料金はリーズナブルで良いホテル - 料金はリーズナブルです。この料金で温泉に入れて夕食、朝食がついて満足です。連泊したら夕食にヒラメの刺身をサービスして頂きました。エンガワ付です。美味しかったです。温泉は広いです。湯船は四つ有り、それぞれ高温から低温と湯温が違います。ぬるま湯が好きなので有難かったです。また泊まりたいです。

• YIPING (8/5): 擁有無敵海景的老舊飯店 - 房間陳設非常有歲月的痕跡，床墊太軟，訂的是吸菸房但房間沒甚麼菸味，整體還算整潔。早、晚餐的自助餐不算豐富，但口味還不錯。溫泉跟無敵海景（日出及日落皆美）值得稱許，服務人員也應對親切。退房時會酌收一天150日元的入浴料金。
