Guest Reviews
- Beccy (8/5): - Quiet
- Kerry (7/5): -
- 914keiram (6/5): Upgrades needed - This is a very run down location that needs alot of attention to bring it in line with other quest properties
- Beate (6/5): Für ein bis zwei Nächte ok. - Die Lage ist perfekt.
Es war sauber.
Waschmaschine/ Trockner im Zimmer (incl. Waschmittel)
- Julie (8/5): Good to be back at Quest Atrium. - We lived at Quest Atrium for 3 years so we were familiar with the location and facilities Nothing. We liked it here.
- jenn (7/5): - Location Not a fully equipped kitchen, missing seats, coffee cups frypan coffee maker bathroom shower needed world funky smwll
- Samosam17 (8/5): - Le bruit
- Maureen (7/5): Up a really steep hill - The apartment was spacious with a nice balcony but the view is only of the properties across the road. There was a small bathroom, kitchenette and sitting area so everything we could need. The accommodation is up a really steep hill which proved challenging. We later learned that there was a lift in another hotel across the road that brought you down to the shopping area (and more importantly up). I wouldn't stay here again becuase of its location
- Allan (6/5): Overall satisfactory with the exception of the rooms location - Location was perfect We requested two adjacent rooms, as we were travelling with my elderly mother-in-law, we were informed that we had two rooms opposite, when we arrived at the hotel this was not the case, the rooms were across the atrium from each other!!
There was quite a bit of noise from the atrium.
- Timothy (9/5): - The staff were exceptionally helpful. When the washer in my room malfunctioned, the day manager had all my clothes dried. A lot of street noise.
- amber (9/5): - Great location in the city centre and close to a caf park which offers $8/ 24hr parking on the weekend.
Clean, comfy bed, great shower and great value for money. Would happily stay again! Some of the apartments are rented and the floor we were on smelt like curry which was overwhelming. Luckily it didnt follow us into our room which smelt very clean.
- Ros (7/5): -
- Daniel R (9/5): - Nice amenities
- Patricia (9/5): Very kind and friendly staff, accommodated late checkout request and baggage storage - Great location Room was a bit cramped
- Abbey (6/5): -
- Jason (9/5): -
- Maunsell (5/5): - Staff were helpful and friendly. The apartment was a good size for a small family. The apartment showed significant wear and tear, could have been a bit cleaner, was smelly, was missing door locks on the bathroom doors, was on a noisy street and so required the doors and windows to be shut at night making for a stuffy atmosphere and requiring ear plugs.
- Mereseini (10/5): -
- Jackie (10/5): - Duty manager was lovely. We were given a free upgrade and had a lovely room for our one night stay
- Shavin (3/5): - We had two bedrooms with a shared washroom/Bath. Doors wouldn’t look. We had a two year old , we were allocated 7th floor , door to terrace won’t lock. We room service was done, lounge wasn’t vacuumed. Carpark area rubbish bin placed we difficult to park.
- Bryce (7/5): -
- Theresa (7/5): Pleasant stay in a nice room offset by a 3+week hassle of the room bond not being released back. - Nice room, comfy bed, pleasant reception staff. A little noisy from the nearby motorway traffic. It took over 3 weeks and 4 phone calls to receive our room bond money back - very annoying to the point we will no longer stay at any accommodation that requires a bond.
- Christina (5/5): -
- Michael (7/5): Average - small shower , heated towel rail broken
- Matarawa (8/5): All in all, value for money - Unlike many other reviews we thought for what we paid it was good value for money. Our room 6 - g overlooked other rooms in the Atrium - if you're seeking privacy and silence this isn't the place to go. Our room itself was showing signs of 'tiredness' but was otherwise clean and had everything we need - cooking facilities, washing machine (and soap powder), good wifi and a comfortable bed. The only thing to let the bathroom down was the shower - good water pressure, but a very small tight space; and the soap and shampoo dispensers wouldn't work. The Quest Atrium Wellington is almost opposite the Jame Cook Hotel - a quick trip in the lift down to Lambton Quay and Woolworths. Reception staff were great and very welcoming. All in all, value for money.
- Sara (9/5): -
- PRASANNA (8/5): Nice Location - Good Location. Enough and good facilities. Lock system of toilet is not proper, not good for four persons.
- Selwyn (8/5): Excellent hotel in a super-convenient location, offering a unique value-for-money experience. - This hotel is in an excellent location, with easy access from Lambton Quay via Cable Car Lane and the Fujitsu Tower lifts. The hotel is secure, with access only via residents' key fobs.
The atrium is a spectacular interior feature of this hotel, with all rooms having a balcony facing on to it. This meant I could leave the balcony doors open to allow in fresh air while maintaining temperature within the room. Although this has the potential to add to the noise levels that was not an issue during my stay.
The staff were all friendly and efficient, and accommodated my baggage storage requirements before check-in and after check-out. Free wifi was also provided in the room cost. The lifts are a little clunky, but they are rostered to be maintained during 2026.
- Michelle (5/5): -
- Mark (10/5): Very enjoyable and would definitely do again. - Room is very well equiped, spacious and comfortable. None
- Theresa will travel (6/5): - Comfy beds, easy access to wharf No air in room, very stuff. Balcony not outside but on the inner, enclosed area of hotel. On busy times only 2 car spots to gain access to check in.
- Sello (9/5): -
- Daniel (10/5): - Great location, friendly helpful staff, great value for money, and the room was immaculate. 10/10 Nothing!
- Minakshi (9/5): Its was staying at quest. Was comfy and staff was awsome. - Cleanliness and location.
Stay was really comfortable None
- Emma (9/5): -
- Megan (8/5): -
- Kezza (9/5): - Closeness to everything. The friendly helpful staff. The comfortable apt. Not finding out that we had to be out on the 19th early because they were renewing the new garage door.
- Judy (7/5): -
- Alycia (8/5): -
- Nicola (7/5): - Location Lift were a bit smelly and not very clean
- Jane (9/5): - The hotel is in a very good location, easy to walk to town and many eating options. The staff were very helpful. The rooms are a little crowded as they offer many facilities, was hard to find space to open 2 medium suitcases.
- Pete (7/5): Not bad - decent value for money, and pretty close to where you need to go - Bed, gym and Location The lift, parking and shower
- Jane (9/5): - Easy to walk to the town centre, railway station, and many food options. Car parking was very good. Had a washing machine with dryer. Had issues with the washing machine, shower is small. Not much spare space to open 2 suitcases.
- Grant (5/5): -
- Katherine (10/5): Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Great place to stay. - Locality
Facilities Great
- Evelyn (7/5): -
- Nathan (8/5): Pleasant business stay in central Wellington - Pleasant room, everything was clean, tidy and well presented, and everything I had cause to use was functional. The bed was excellent, and what I particularly liked that aside from the fat pillows on the bed (good for presentation) there was a nice flat one in the cupboard, (which I prefer for sleeping). Shower water was hot and plentiful. Another feature is because I was in a room that backed directly onto the atrium, I could open up windows to have natural air into the room - I hate locked down climate controlled spaces. The Atrium was a double edged sword. It was obvious from signage around the building that occasionally noisy guests could cause problems for other guests looking for a quiet night, because the central atrium could be a 'sound portal' to all adjacent rooms; but in reality I didn't suffer major issues.
Another small frustration was the lights indicating lift level were faulty on the 3rd floor, so I couldn't tell if the lift was coming - just had to take it on trust. Maintenance needed there.
- Chris (8/5): 3 Nights - Solo Traveller - Clean and comfortable room.
Room service each day.
Laundry in the room which was nice.
Located close to the inner city The parking building was cramped so not suitable for larger vehicles
- Timothy (6/5): Dodgy upkeep and maintenance. Noise from interior atrium can be a bit annoying. - Room was spacious and close to city centre. Problems with room were responded to and a discount offered. Rug was wet from leak under shower wall. Peeling paint at baseboard indicated this was not a new problem. No toilet paper on arrival. Mgmt suggested after we left that we had taken dishes! Annoyed this was their first assumption, given apparent neglect of room.
- Margery (8/5): Good for longer stay. - Well equipped. Clean. Good size room. Proximity to Lambton Quay via James Cook Arcade. Easy access to Airport bus. No cafes or places to buy food near by especially after 5.00 pm.
Confusing because at least 4 different Quests in that area.
- Amanda (7/5): All good - All good All good
- Ferreri (8/5): -
- Sarah (10/5): Perfect - Very helpful staff. Great location and value for money
- Pauline (6/5): Great Location if you are watching your budget - The location was excellent close to shops and cafes and restaurants and for the budget conscience it was good value especially for locals having a city staycation. The room was so small there was no room for our suitcases and we had to leave them in the car so not the right place for international travellers with luggage.
- Barton (6/5): -
- Jessica (10/5): Friendly reception. Nice stay - Nice stay. Easy to get around. clean and tidy
- Acacia (10/5): -
- Sue (8/5): The room was clean. It was a little noisy. - The room was clean. The atrium was a little noisy.
- Darren (9/5): Awesome staff, thanks John - Great location, comfortable with the family. Huge thank you to John who went out of his way to accommodate us when our ferry to the South Island was cancelled and sorted an extra night for us.
- Neville (10/5): -
- Jessica (7/5): - The washer dryer combo was a nice extra
Comfy bed That because I used booking.com or afterpay I had to pay a $150 bond which still hasnt been refunded. I was actually there because my husband is in ICU at the hospital and really couldn't afford the $150 bond but felt i had no choice because I was so tired from being at the hospital all day.
- Rachel (8/5): Clean room very comfortable bed . Great location . - Great location The parking
- Dianne (7/5): - Convience to city. The motorway
- Vicki (3/5): -
- Paul (7/5): We stayed for one night and the room suited our needs and offered parking. -
- Colleen (10/5): Good location, clean, comfortable and really helpful staff. - Location
Helpful professional staff All was as expected
- PEPSI (9/5): -
- Alejandro C. Frery (1/5): Good, but never choose with breakfast. - The apartment is on the small side but livable. It is well-furnished, and the balcony is welcome. The location is excellent: close to everything and with good public transport within meters. I requested a silent apartment and was given one facing the interior patio; this was good. We paid for two with breakfast. The property said that they never offered breakfast and that it was something Booking came up with. It was very hard to make them honour what we had paid for. When they did it, it was the bare minimum.
- Leif (10/5): - Room clean, nice staff, sufficient kitchen area Situated on top of a steep hill, maybe something to take into account when traveling with bags
- Brendon (10/5): -
- Martin (10/5): -
- Anne Marie (8/5): Quest Atrium was great for a longer stay - The apartment was well served and well serviced. Everything was pleasantly clean and the facilities excellent...especially the washer/ dryer It was occasionally noisy as people didn't always observe the regulations and Atrium was extremely echoey. It took me 4 days to work out I could use the lift in James Cook hotel to get yo Lambton Quay and that made a huge difference. Also reception closes at 8 pm
- Devonshire (7/5): -
- Cam (1/5): DO NOT STAY HERE THEY STEAL FROM YOU - Nothing they steal money Everything
- vezina (7/5): -
- Mumble 13 (7/5): Great location, and wonderful staff - Everything was spotlessly clean. the kitchen contained everything we needed. The bathroom was spacious and well equipped. Security was good and we appreciated on site parking. The room looked out into the atrium. It was noisy if we had the door open, with other guests chatting on their balconies, children yelling etc. If we shut the door, the room became very hot. There was an air conditioner in the room which we found very noisy and impossible to sleep with it going. So, we were very tired the next day. We did wonder if an upgraded / more expensive room would have been a better choice but were only going to be there one night so thought the studio room would do.
- Alastair (7/5): - location Finding which Quest it was and finding someone at reception
- Swanson (7/5): - Shower was clean but too much wear and tear inside and out of the shower. Soap dispenser in the shower was broken.
- Andre (7/5): - Our one interaction with staff member at check in was superb, super friendly and genuine Very worn interiors in places including bathroom , and very overpriced , ( we were there during a major concert in Wellington )but really no excuse
- Joanne (10/5): Fabulous - Fantastic helpful Receptionist.
Comfortable warm rooms and air-conditioned.
Tidy clean apartment.
Cleaners were very helpful and kind.
Great parking - easy.
Close to shopping - Lampton Quay. Everything you need plus cable car. Each element of the stove-top only worked on high other than that - what a fabulous kitchen!
- Damian (8/5): Well located. Clean and efficiently run. Welcoming staff great. - . .
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Julie (7/5): Great location near transport. - Very comfortable bed, great location. Very friendly and helpful reception. The first bedroom had no natural light as the window was blackened supposedly because it faced onto the atrium. The second bedroom had no window and had only borrowed light from the lounge room. The borrowed light came from an open space up high in the bedroom wall, facing onto the loungeroom - so no barrier against noise in the loungeroom.
- Melanie (6/5): overall, good value, especially if you're budget conscious. - Comfortable bed. The lights coming on an off outside the room made it difficult to sleep; the curtains didn't close properly.
The surface of the iron is extremely dirty, which transferred onto my clothes.
- Chris (6/5): An ok experience. - The kitchen Thicker curtains to stop lights from other apartments shine g through during the night.
- McAllum (7/5): Generally good 😊 - Good location, great staff, Sky TV Weird box built around the bed to make a bedroom and strange arrangement with the bathroom being accessed by both the hallway and bedroom box. Shower door didn’t close properly and so the bathroom flooded each time you used the shower. Huge balcony with no furniture or reason to go out there. All a bit tired, but clean and adequate.
- Heather (3/5): Disappointing state of room - Location Very tired and much in need of a revamp
- Sandie (6/5): Was easy central place to stay. Probably paid a premium during WOW week and school holidays - Access to Habit Health gym and pool was fantastic. Easy access to Lambton Quay via James Cook Hotel. Excellent bed and pillows and linen.
Really nice reception staff, very helpful.
Liked the ranchslider opening into the atrium Uncomfortable couch with stains. Sky controller not working properly.
Minimal Sky channels. Freeview would be better.
Room cluttered with huge air conditioning unit. Another resident talking Chinese loudly on his phone at 2am disrupting sleep.
Ventilation in bathroom very noisy
- Steven (8/5): Great Accomodation - Great Location. Quiet which is great when trying to sleep 😊 Nothing
- jaspreet (9/5): -
- Forous (10/5): -
- Alo (6/5): - Having bed right next to door, maybe better safety locks needs to updated
- Robert (8/5): Good value and location for a small apartment. - I liked that it was a small apartment with all the amenities one needed. There was a little bit of a smell when you walked off the elevator to the floor and there was a fair amount of noise and banging that lasted for about an hour one night.
- Cathryn (5/5): More budget than it appears to be, basics were not reliable. Sleep was good. - Bed was awesome, washing machine cool and kitchen was solid with good range of utensils etc Wifi was unreliable, balcony didn’t look safe, shower water was cold one evening, aircon was not adjustable, and hallway was smelly. Neighbours were noisy. Elevator was slow. Entrance was always empty aka no staff, and location was crappy.
- Tamaha-Fahufaitaliha (10/5): -
- Shaquille (10/5): Perfect - The rooms were lovely for the price, really enjoyed our stay. No room service!
- Chris (3/5): Run down - The location is so central. It was old and dirty.
- Keila (6/5): -
