Guest Reviews
- Ron (2/5): - was bad but was stuck
- Jessica (4/5): - I don’t think I’ve ever stayed at a more horrifying place. The room was dirty, unknown stains on the upholstered chair, the entry door looked like it had been kicked in at one point, there was one towel for 2 people, the bathroom door was broken and didn’t close. If this hadn’t been the absolute last place with a room available, I would have gotten back in my car and driven somewhere else, anywhere else.
- Debra (2/5): - The room was disgusting. It had a very stained chair, no lampshades on the lamps, strange substance stuck to the ceiling around the fire alarm. The curtains were pinned to the frame in order to cover the very filthy window frame area. The bathroom door would not close and the bathroom towel rack was gone.
We checked out and went else where.
- ALFRED (8/5): - good
- Kevin (4/5): - It’s a dump. Broken baseboard heaters, stained bed spread, broken curtains, outlets don’t work, smells, car in parking lot with flat tires. I could go on.
Zero stars is to high. Slept in a chair with my clothes on.
- Jayne (2/5): - This absolutely should not be listed with.Expedia. It's a horrible, old run down strip hotel on a main drag. Very run down. Manager controls the heat?! The floor heating registers are all ben and rusty. No light except on the ceiling did not feel safe here. Diesnt even rate a one star.
- JEFF (2/5): - Gross. There was mold all over the shower curtain and what I assume to be blood on one of the two "queen" beds box spring. The beds were doubles.
- Donna (2/5): - Disgusting place.
In desperate need of repairs and updates. Exposed elecrical, doors dont close, curtains not atached, floor hasn't been cleaned in years perhaps, broken towel bars,no lamp shades, staind furniture, plus plus.I would not sit on chairs or get into bed. Thank god we had our own blankets and pillows. Sometimes you get what you pay for, but this place should pay me.
- Johan (4/5): - Nothing! The place was in disrepair.
- JOHN (4/5): - You get what you pay for. I have small expectations, clean bedding and a functional bathroom as I'm only in the room to sleep and shower. Sheets were clean, terrible pillows and bed cover had holes in it from burns? no other blankets. Shower/tub produced extremely limited increase in water temp although I ran it for 10 plus minutes, same for sink. WIFI connected but did not open. TV converter batteries did not work. Broken eavestrough above door to room leaked onto me entering and leaving.
- Rodger (4/5): - No comment
- DeLane (4/5): - No hot water. Nowhere to hang clothes. Don't stay there.
- Anthony (2/5): - Potholes in parking lot and doors can't open and close properly. Furniture is stained and nasty
- David (4/5): - Not the best standard woom, secondary chain bolt broken, no towels, no hot water, empty drug bags outside our door on the ground.
- Leszek (2/5): - It’s overdue time to rebuild the property
- Bhargav (10/5): - It was perfect stay. And friendly and hospitality was awesome
- Erin (4/5): - It was dirty, with cigarette burns in the bedspreads after being told it’s a smoke-free room. The whole place needs updating. The parking lot needs to be flattened and repaved. Way overpriced for what you get.
- Shelby (10/5): - It was a bit dirty, but service and location were good.
- Kathie (4/5): - I have real photos of the room. No lampshades, bathroom door didn't close, unsafe electrical outlet in kitchen, dirty, especially in bathroom by the heater and the entry door did not move freely. Overall not worthy of an Expedia listing. I also think the 2 reviews giving 8/10 &10/10 are false
- ph (2/5): - no good
- Howard (2/5): - We declined the room, the entire facility from the parking area, to the front desk was totally deplorable. They wanted us to pay, and when I told them, I had booked through a third party, they pointed at the computer and said no, I was to pay on artival. I told the staff, that I wanted to see the room first. It was no better than the front desk or parking area. Dated and in a state of disrepair, the room reeked of disinfectant.
- Nadine (4/5): Use an update - The rooms can use a deep clean, ac did not work. No fans. There was a cricket in my room that kept me up all night
- Heidi (6/5): A good hotel - It was a mediocre hotel that needs some Renos but for the night it was sufficient
- Bradley (4/5): - Floors were dirty. Filthy dirty.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Awesome shower!!
- Marilyn (10/5): - Friendly
- Tracy (2/5): - Very dirty, pee stains on sheets, used soap in shower, very dirty
- Brian (4/5): - Regrettably this property is in a rundown condition.there seems to be poor communication between Hotels.com also this property. Also the day before we were in in a Motel that cost 75% of this Motel and was three times better maintained in a high demand location .
- Doug (2/5): - Room smelled of cigarette smoke did not stay my filter says smoke free so I think Hotel.com has a responsibility to ensure room is smoke free
- Robert (4/5): - This has been a nice place but is becoming run down. Very noisy all night long from adjoining room
- Donna (2/5): - Old and dirty. Smelled like smoke and urine. Couldn’t stay there!!!
- Kennneth (4/5): - Bottom of the barrel
- MARTIN (2/5): - Absolutely disgusting!!!
- Veronica (2/5): - Cigarette butt in the sink, glass on the bathroom floor that the attendant cleaned up by picking up the pieces with his fingers, no toilet paper in the room, no garbage can, blanket had a burn mark on it, garbage in the dresser drawers, stinky fridge, just filthy everywhere.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Room had not been properly cleaned after the last guest as we found a sock from a previous guest on the floor. Additionally, no one was at the desk upon check out even when we did they had posted to bring someone out to the desk.
- Clint (2/5): Filthy - This hotel/motel was absolutely dirty. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
- Laure (2/5): - It was super old smelly and dirty. Both beds had dirty sheets (with blood stains) and the 1 towel was barely white. It looked like someone had used it to dry the bathroom floor. My friend had another room, same problem. We got a full refund and went some other pkace
- Judy (2/5): - First clue was in the office when the ivory colored desk phone was filthy. The door had one lock. The bolt lock did not work. Half of the swing lock was missing. The electric floor boards were grubby dirty as were the bathroom door. The bedding had what looked like blood stains and the pillows had multicolored stains. The sofa cushions were stained. I was told the other rooms were booked but when I left this morning there was only my vehicle. Finding this on Expedia was a big mistake.
- Yvonne (2/5): - Tough stay. We spent one night and could barely sleep. It was freezing cold there was no heater. No towels… had to request them and got one at a time (they were washing them so it’s a little understandable).
Paid for what we got I guess. The guy that helped us was very nice though!
- Ritik (2/5): - This Motel is very old. Needs to be renovated. Hair dryer was not working. Dirty bed sheets and blankets. Dirty floors. Dirty microwave. Nothing was in the washroom when checked in like basic hygiene products. Provide dirty towels. We were here for three nights and they provide only one soap and one dirty towel after we requested. Very bad experience. They need to focus on cleaning
- Zixuan (2/5): - Smells like curry
- Brad (2/5): Lord give me strength. - Worst place i have ever stayed at and it wasnt even close. Horrible in every way. Was too tired to make a complaint or find another place. Avoid like the plague.
- Laura (2/5): - Where do I start?
The room was absolutely filthy. I spent over an hour cleaning before even bringing my items into the room.
The heater in the bathroom wasn’t even attached to the wall. It kept falling and leaking smells into the room.
The bathroom window was COVERED in cigarettes and ashes. I was told I couldn’t check in until 5:30pm as the room was being cleaned that was an absolute joke!
The room across the hall was constantly having visitors all hours of the day and night and they would knock on my door when they didn’t answer.
The wifi did not work at all the entire stay.
If I wasn’t in a situation of needing a temporary week long stay waiting for my rental I wouldn’t have stayed.
The sheets and blankets were stained and full of cigarettes holes. I had to use my own bedding as I couldn’t even think about laying on those.
No towels were provided either. Had to bring them with me.
NEVER STAY HERE ITS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE THE CONDITION OF THE ROOMS
- Nandor (4/5): - Cheap price ($80 all in) Decent location to Trans Canada hwy. No towels, dirty floor mat for shower, used my own bedding and glad I had it. Rust and ceiling mold visible. This was unit 1, not sure of other units.
- Prashant (2/5): - It was a terrible experience. The place was extremely dirty — it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. The bedsheets were visibly dirty, which made it really uncomfortable to even lie down. On top of that, there was no heat, and I had to sleep in the cold the entire night. It was honestly one of the worst stays I’ve ever had. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
- Adam (2/5): - This place was so dirty. I could easily list 20 deficiencies with the room.worst of all was it felt like a crime had happened here. As I got looking around, I noticed certain things. Like the caution tape on the little tree just outside my window. How the deadbolt on the door didn’t latch because the door had been kicked in. The door had been screwed back together. The door for the bathroom was broken. And then I found a little bit of blood on the side of the tub! If it wasn’t for an ice storm, and me needing a place unexpectedly. I would’ve never came here. I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels and this is by far the worst. I would’ve slept in my car if it wasn’t for the weather conditions.
- Jean-Luc (2/5): - I’ve been working out of town for 17 years stayed in lots of motels over the year this was by far the worst place I stayed, where to start bathroom was full of mold, bath towel was dirty, not much heat in the room, beds were made but the sheet had holes and the other bed looked like it was mold on it, fridge had mold in door where there slots for pop, this place should be torn down and should not be in service!WILL NOT BE GOING BACK AND NOT RECOMMEND !
- Amanda (2/5): - Fix the heater we could have stayed outside it was freezing and the was no help at front desk so we froze all night
- Justyn (2/5): - Literally the worst place I have ever stayed. Expedia needs to ban this place. No heat, exposed wiring, exposed plumbing, the door didn't close properly, the lamp was broken, missing light bulbs in bathroom, broken tv remote, burn holes in the sheets, the floors have never been washed, dead flies and bugs all over, old dirty towel hanging on the bathroom door, most of the furniture was broken (missing drawers, busted table legs, etc). Electrical burn marks on what appeared to be a bathroom fan (it didn't work anyway).
$130 for the night was straight up robbery.
Reported to the city, they shouldn't have a licence to operate.
- Cheryl (2/5): - Dirty sheets
- John (2/5): - I didn’t like anything about it at all
- Ramanpreet (2/5): - The place was so dirty and unhygienic. There was bad smell in the room and in reception area.
No service phones.
Limited personal use supplies.
Dirty and worn out towels.
I do not recommend this place to anyone.
- Wendy (2/5): - They tried to give us a filthy room at first. Disgusting, had to pay to upgrade to a better room. Still was disappointed in room. Would not recommend this place.
- Baljeet (2/5): - I went to the property and they have issued with their room and all and I denied to take that. It was all dirty.
- Christina (6/5): - Last minute stay, grateful for the room, great amenities, bar fridge & microwave in room. Quality is average to poor, room is well used, visible surface clean but dust bunnies under the bed, towel fell on the bathroom floor and it was visibly dirty. 30$/hour for late check out, we left on time but reception came by to ask if we could leave earlier- I should have asked for a 30$/hour refund to leave early! Overall- happy for a place since all was sold out.
- Steve (4/5): - Filthy dirty noisy unsafe there is very very sketchy ppl staying in these units.
Avoid this location spend a few extra dollars and go elsewhere!!
- Amdadul (4/5): - Place is not clean properly, washroom door was not closed, electric outlet is not working coffee maker was broken bed was making noises…..
- Jodie (2/5): - Property not well keeped. On check in, room paid cash with sign on wall non refundable. One out of two Rooms were dirty and had anys. No toilet paper in either room and one missing towels and face cloths. Ended up not spending night, drove 5 hours home. Will not recommend.
- Zachary (4/5): - This place isn’t that bad. Comfy beds and clean enough rooms. I am just super inconvenienced with regards to the towel situation. I got in late last night and needed to shower, but no towels in the room. I called down to front desk, he told me 10 minutes. The towels never arrived. I ended up using my shirt as a towel. In the morning I went to front desk and nobody was there, called on the phone and nobody answered. Waiting 10 minutes before coming back to my room. I guess I’m using my shirt again.
What a bad experience in this way, it’s too bad because I would have given this place atleast 4 stars if it wasn’t for this.
- David (2/5): - I travel a lot and this is one of the absolute worst hotels I have ever stayed at. Everything broken, dirty, just a disaster. Sheets dirty and not changed since the last guests. Even the toilet seat was broken and worn out ! This was the cheapest hotels on Expedia in Sault Saint Marie and I can see why after staying. Maybe the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at and in an old guy.
- Krystal (10/5): Amazing - Had a wonderful stay and they were very accommodating when I had to call at 6;00 am to be let back into room cause my husband left his wallet
- Love (10/5): - The customer service is outstanding due to the new management's improvements to the facilities and services. I especially appreciate how they promptly address customer concerns. If you find something unsatisfactory and inform them, you will not find the same issue on your next visit.

- CHERYL (2/5): Gross - I believe the room was not cleaned. There was a pair of jeans left on the floor by the previous customer
- Love (6/5): - I like this place and have been several times. The only thing I didn't like was the carpet; it seemed like it had never had a steam clean. When the heater was on, the carpet stank like mold. I don't like to go there with kids.

- Rogelio (10/5): - accessible to everything
- Choly (8/5): - Owner or whoever manages the motel has to really looked into the carpet, needs upgrade or at least clean it, i found dusts all over to the point that my girlfriend and i having Hives.
- Heidi (4/5): - It was a dirty room and heat didnt work properly
- faiz (6/5): Strange - Nothing important
- Jennifer (2/5): - The price was right and the staff were friendly. Aside from that the room was outdated, dirty, and the room next to us was blocked off with “DO NOT ENTER” signs and had a security outside it running all night long. We purchased a remote in order to use the TV, as we couldn’t reach staff. We also bought blankets and pillows because the ones in the room smelled dusty. The bed was old dusty and hard as a board. I can see that the rooms were recently painted in an attempt to freshen things up. But soap, water, new beds, pillows and bed coverings would have gone much further.
- Ian (10/5): - This is a motel providing a bed, TV, Internet and bathroom. That's all I wanted.
- Harold (8/5): - Likes:The person that received us was great help accommodating us. He help us
Location is perfect at the Sault
Dislike: Looks old, a bit dirty (Bath and Bed), but we slept great
- Vincent (2/5): - Not the cleanest room I’ve been in
- Stefanie (4/5): - Our room smelled really bad, cigarette burns in the comforter, holes in the sheets, plastic left on mattress which was really uncomfortable, outlets missing covers, old coffee filter and grounds left in the coffee machine, bathroom door didn’t shut properly cause there was pieces missing from it, towels also had a weird smell and the bathroom still had hair all over the place from previous people.
- Promise (10/5): - Very comfortable and good service
- Keijo (6/5): - Very outdated, carpets are stained, shower curtain has like black spots, almost like mould looking, Black hairs lying around. Why does expedia have to make money on your booking, thus pushing up the price! Just for the reviews? Hmm.Cheaper to book directly.
- sheila (8/5): - Nice management. Mostly clean. Sink could be replaced. Had to wash bathroom tub floor before we could use it. Used 4 lysol wipes. Beds comfortable
- FU (2/5): - We stayed this motel last week. Driving back to Calgary and this time the room 18 we stayed is even worse than lask week stayed. The room had very bad smell(like dead animal inside the motel room somewhere). Ants, bugs around the corner everywhere. The toilet keep leaking little water. There is not bed frame only the foam mattress on the dirty ground. Other tables and furnitures inside the room looks like from someone's moving throw away. We having a long drive and very tired. Still have a long drive the next day. We have no energy to fight whith the motel. Can't even sleep and leave very early morning the next day. This is a very low quality motel, don't know why Expedia let this type of bad motel in their booking system.
- FU (2/5): - Very bad smell inside the motel room if the motel not turn on the air-conditioner 3 hours before check in. Check-in on holiday there is no other hotel can be changed(all very high prices). Tried to check out the next morning around 6:50 am but there is no one at front desk. The only instruction for check out is a handwriting paper says to ask next motel but no one there. Called Expedia and wait until 9:18 am when the staff been woke up by Expedia calling. There are a few homeless around and watching us. Can't leave the motel key outside the easy open mail box.
- Tom (8/5): - Close to border crossing
- Nathan (2/5): - To provide context I travel for work (25 years plus) and make a point of staying at the least expensive accommodations available. I work long hours and am really only looking for somewhere to shower and sleep. My expectations are VERY low. I can say with complete honesty this is the worst place I have ever stayed. I reserved online for 6 nights. When I arrived they were “cleaning” my room… no problem I can wait a few minutes.. when staff left the room there was a use qtip, and bread bag tie in plain sight on the floor and a child’s candy treat under the edge of the bed. The towels were left for me on the nightstand as there was no towel rack in the bathroom or toilet paper holder just the clips on the wall where they used to be. The carpet was so filthy and stained I wore my flip flops full time. The kitchenette had receptacles so old and work the small appliance plugs fell out of the wall. I found a pharmaceutical tablet on the floor and was further unimpressed with graffiti on the wall featuring a racial slur. I paid for the first two nights when I checked in expecting to pay the balance on checkout however the management raced out to meet me at me door on the second day to ask me to pay for additional nights in advance ( I paid an additional 3 nights). The evening before my planned departure I was met at my door again and asked to pay for my last night in advance as well. The room was filthy, the property run down. Zero housekeeping for entire stay. 0 stars.
- Viacheslav (2/5): - Not recommend to anyone. Unimaginable dirty place. But really friendly stuff.
- Kristy (6/5): It was ok - My stay was comfortable the ac took while to cool down
- Trischa (2/5): - Rooms weren't clean. TV didn't work. Outlets didn't work! No refund!! People were noisy! We left after an hour. Was afraid of bed bugs.
- Jifin (10/5): - Good ,, rooms were nice 👌
- Jifin (10/5): - Cheap and pet is allowed, not bad for the price .. had an awesome stay ..
- Debbie (4/5): - Floors had mud on them, hair in bedding, Capet not vacuumed where I found dried dog poop and Guinea pig poop and food. Hole in shower stall
- geoffrey c (4/5): - Credit card reader not working, wanted cash only and would not discount US currency for Canadian. No ice had no idea what that was all about.
- Louai (10/5): - Very good
- Verified traveler (4/5): Stay away - This was my second stay. First stay was passable. Second stay was a big disappointment. The room for the first stay the bathroom lights kept on flashing. The bathtub water kept on running. There was a terrible smell when you first walked in the room. The second stay the bed was two mattresses on the floor. In order to get hot water in the sink, you had to turn on the tub water first. No face clothes and only one hand towel and a small bath towel. Definitely not worth the money. I don't recommend this hotel at all. STAY AWAY FROM THERE.
- Bonnie (6/5): - I accidentally left my phone in the room after i left and the gentleman let me in to get it. He way a very nice man.
- gordon (6/5): - the room floor was dirty. it was vacuumed but being a hardwood floor it needed to be washed .it was still gritty
- Daniel. (2/5): - The tables was dirty
- Harjot (6/5): - Nnm
- Bella (4/5): - Unclean! Towels were disgusting with dirt on it. One of the towels and the bath tub was wet before using it. Drawers had someone else’s clothes and undergarments in it. Could be so much better for the charge.
- Kristie (8/5): - There was no maid/houskeeping services the entire time we were there. So our garbages were overflowing. You get what you pay for. I wasnt expecting perfect, the bathroom had a smell, the tub faucet leaked/ran the entire time. There was mold everywhere in the bathroom. As I had said earlier there were cloths in the dresser, a bra under the bed, and the spare pillow was complete stained. There were also pills under the bed, a good housekeeping service would have this clean. The bedding appeared clean and the beds were comfortable.
- Kristofer (2/5): - When checking in they told me they didn't have a reservation for us, and they don't work with Expedia. They upcharged the room and we paid triple the cost. The TV didn't work, hole in the ceiling, and water damage in the bathroom
