Guest Reviews
- Billie (8/5): -
- ELENA (8/5): Muito boa.
- Mary (10/5): - No breakfast
- Sheppard (9/5): - It was very clean, staff was very kind and helpful, car was able to be parked right outside the room. AC and fridge was fully functional. The bed was a bit hard.
- Ruben (9/5): - The check in was fast and the room was clean. I would stay again. Free ice
- Louise (8/5): Nice, clean and quiet with ample parking - Motel was clean and quiet, nothing fancy. Good parking and easy to find. Nice price since SD an be expensive. Room had fridge, microwave and a nice firm mattress. Lighting was very bright! Could use a less bright light for bedtime.

- Matthew (9/5): Wholesome No Country for Old Men - Cozy as hell. Clean and comfortable. Late-night front desk concierge Priya was friendly, efficient, and quite lovely Wifi was spotty. Mattress was pretty hard, but it wasn’t uncomfortable or anything.
- Richard (9/5): My 3rd time there. We'll be back. - Location. No issues. Good place.
- Magdalena (5/5): - Location Very stiff beds, weak wifi signal, loud fridge
- Richard (10/5): Non smoking and smoking rooms - Location TV remote didn’t work, they did fix it
- Ramirez (8/5): -
- SERHAN (7/5): - Location near Sdsu
- Lissa (6/5): Average motel, nice enough. - Spacious room. Nice lady at the desk. Quiet. Off street parking bed was comfy. Plenty of towels. No coffee in the room. No breakfast offered. One of the beds had sand on the sheets and next to the bed. Otherwise the room was clean.
- Michelle (8/5): - Staff were so so nice, great places to eat in the area, and despite there being so many end-of-summer concert goers in town, it was so quiet, I had no problem sleeping! Will definitely come back!
- regina (10/5): - Perfect for the night. I had to buy a bar soap. There was no soap in the room.
- Kristi (8/5): - Convenient
- William (6/5): -

- Kevin (9/5): A reasonable, clean choice that’s not too far from SDSU. - If you prefer the traditional family-run motel over those of a corporate chain, Harvey’s is a good choice. We asked for and got a ground-floor room, which was a pretty easy goal since we appeared to be the only paying customers that night. The motel exterior seemed nicely maintained, the room was clean as was the bathroom. Both were typical for motels of this age—small but just fine for the two of us.
The room AC was effective and not too loud, though it’s only a couple of feet away from the bed. With the window closed there was almost no noise from the street. The refrigerator’s freezer section had a large buildup of ice, the TV remote control didn’t do a very good job of controlling the TV.
- Sammy (8/5): Very good - Very nice and Clean. It's kinda small Motel. But I did like it.
- shane (2/5): - I got bed bug bites all over me
- Paolo (7/5): good enough to be a Motel - good enough for this time is a motel...so... very simple and not great space
- Craig (10/5): Great place if you just need a place to lay your head at night and food/snacks on hand in your room. - Good proximity to SDSU. Fridge and microwave allowed me to have food in the very early AM. Room is clean and well kept up. Good proximity to convenience stores for snacks and water. Park your car just outside your door. Fridge motor is a little loud keeping me up at night. Pillows are too big/high.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Older motel, but very clean and the staff were very kind and helpful. Bed was a little stiff, but definitely seemed newer.
- Kalanie (9/5): Nice and tidy. - The size of the room was decent, I requested extra pillows and they brought them up . Everything was tidy including the refrigerator and microwave. They care about there guest. Front desk lady very nice. I prefer a softer bed it was pretty firm and high up, but my boyfriend thought it was quite nice overall it was worth the price i would go back again
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Veronica (3/5): Poor -
- Andrew (10/5): I enjoy staying here and plan on staying here again in the future - Staff is always friendly, rooms are always clean, and the location is quiet and safe.
- Andrew (10/5): My go to place to stay. - Staff is always nice and accommodating. Quiet place to stay and is very comfortable. Location is great since it is pretty close to the 8 freeway.
- Mike (8/5): Fulfilled my immediate & basic needs. - Everything was fine. This is a family run property and they are available. No complaints here. Have used it before. I just needed a place for a few days. Some food places within walking distance. Markets down a bit further down the street along with banks. Access to I-8 close by so this is a convenient place for the budge minded.
- June (4/5): - I woke up at 4 am (Sunday am) to doors slamming. Every 10 - 15 minutes, a door would slam. I counted about 25 door slams.
- Serhan (5/5): Passable - Near Sdsu Renovation is needed
- Lulu (10/5): One night perfect stay ! - The bed was very comfy , the bathroom was very clean as well as the room. The location was what I was looking for . It needs lower pillows . Couldn’t use the ones on the bed , they were very high .
- Burton (7/5): Good -
- Feng (10/5): friendly staff - great location. Close to SDSU and Target/walmart/ross. clean and good value
- Joshua (4/5): Disappointing -
- Phillip (5/5): The lady at the front desk was super nice. For the price the room was decent. - It was good for the price Not enough parking spaces, we went to go eat and when we came back there was no parking
- Elaine (8/5): Very good - It was a spacious room with everything I needed. The staff were friendly and the location had shops nearby. In spite of it being on a very busy road it was very quiet. It was also on a bus route and the trolley station was nearby. The ice machine needed quarters to use. It wasn't so much paying for it as having no control over how much ice I got. Also the hair drier cord didn't reach the power outlet (I had brought my own) and the microwave was noisy.
- Kristen (7/5): Good - It is a family owned motel and they clearly take pride in their property. It is a bare bones, no frills place but is clean and fairly priced and has free parking. Close to SDSU. They were very helpful with any questions we had.
- Kimberly (5/5): It was an okay stay - It was convenient to my job It smelled really bad inside the room. The bed was uncomfortable and the key stopped working after the first night.
- Larry (8/5): Very good -
- Carter (8/5): Very good -
- Travis (8/5): - Priced right and quiet.
- Finnestad (5/5): Passable -
- Ceballos (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rhonda (9/5): Great place to stay if you want a value and great service. - Wonderful staff! Went out of their way to make us comfortable after a horrible experience with our original booking. Hotel is a little outdated, but the hospitality was wonderful!
- Larisa (8/5): Good for the price - Its in good shape, clean and staff is available on the spot The bed and bedding could be in better shape. Mattress is hard and pillows are thin. Sheets are ready to retire...
- David (5/5): It was okay but I probably won't go back - The staff try to be helpful, decent price, okay location The facilities need some repair and upgrade, borderline cleanliness.
- Gianluca (1/5): Public health hazard!!! - The question is, what did I like about the property? The answer is absolutely nothing. I pulled in around midnight there was nobody at the front desk to check me in. It rang the doorbell. I called rang the doorbell again eventually somebody came out. I explained that there was no parking and he told me to park in the handicap spot that was also full so I had to park in the street in an area that does not seem that safe, I have a bad leg so I explained that I needed something on the ground floor. They did not have an elevator, but there was nothing other than on the second floor. There are only two floors not that anybody would help me to get up the stairs, had to struggle and make my way all the way around the property, once I got in the room, forget about the smell of smoke that was overpowered by the strong smell of black mold it look like nothing had been changed in there, including the sheets that were full of blood stains so was the comforter so were the pillowcases the shower was equally disgustingthe towels were stained, and when I looked closer at the bed was full of bedbugs. I called downstairs to say I am gonna leave this room. I can’t be here, but nobody answered the phone rest of the night. The cost was over $300 a night for this awful place. I literally stayed there for five minutes and I started coughing. It was detrimental to my health and would that be detrimental to your health , the drug addicts loitering around the place, seem to be very comfortable and at home. The fact that this has a seven reading somehow baffles me, this place is a public health menace and should be condemned. It should not be in business never mind having a seven rating or being available on booking.com. oh, and the cherry on the cake was that the bathroom had been used and not flushed.
- Richard (5/5): It was adequate and very basic. Coffee maker in the room would've been nice. - No Coffee or food provided Stingy with the bathroom bar soaps. Were not replaced when needed. We stayed 5 nights and although I like the place and no frills, these tiny soaps are not enough for two people. Other than that the manager was a nice guy and got me some soaps. This is my second year in a row using the Motel. I WILL return. :)
- Timothy (8/5): - Nice family-run hotel. I was given an upgrade to a larger room as well.
- Eduardo (7/5): Ok place I say - Calm area not to much noise out side. We could hear our next door neighbors having sex. The beds are very hard and stiff. The parking lot is very tight I struggled to park my truck.
- Michel (7/5): Good -
- Chandler (6/5): - y for ice at the ice machine. My feet got dirty just walking barefoot in the room, so it would be nice if they mopped the floor surfaces more thoroughly. The bath soap would be too small for hand soap, much less for bath use. Otherwise, the room was adequate, the bed was nice and firm, and the staff was friendly.
- JAMES (6/5): - I always check the current reviews before staying at a place I don’t know. Had good reviews so I booked it. Location was okay. Room while stark was average. Issue is the other guests. They were making noise until 2am. Cars, voices, etc. I see that they rent by the week for as long as 3 weeks. That should have clued me it’s a flop house with its associated problems. I don’t feel it deserves a below or above average rating because of the other guests but they definitely brought down my rating.
- Alejandra (5/5): My stay at this hotel was OK. - I was able to book a room the same day the location is good and the staff at check-in were nice. Room was not to my expectation. It was not clean well the bed was very uncomfortable. The room was too small and it stink of smoke residue. The bathtub was stained.
- Steven (6/5): - Very friendly folks who ran this small serviceable motor court style motel. I would definitely stay there again.
- Paul (4/5): Not a good value for the money. - It was clean. For what they were charging I expected much better. The engineered wood floor was poor quality. The complimentary soap was paper thin and not good. The lights were very very bright, so it felt like you were being interrogated. The towels were poor quality.
10 minutes before checkout, as I was getting ready to load my car, the office was calling - asking if I was going to prepay another night.
This was not worth the almost $200 I spent for the room. It felt like a much lower quality place.
- Nastassia (9/5): Superb -
- Wright (1/5): Just because you can doesn't mean you should ... - So ... the hotel itself might be fine, but I never got a chance to find out. I double-booked hotels that night by mistake. I meant to book Harvey's for the *next* night. I could have sworn I changed the dates on the booking site, but apparently I didn't, so I ended up paying Harvey's for nothing because I was already in another room that night. Of course that was my fault.
However, instead of being understanding--or even calling me back after I had left a message--Harvey's manager just flat out denied my request for a refund.
Technically, they didn't have to issue a refund to me. But just because they *could* keep my money for nothing doesn't mean they *should* have, and I suspect it wasn't a case of them being so filled to capacity that night that it would have cost them money.
That's just shitty and ruthless, so "F" Harvey's and (many of) these shady folks from continental India who run many of these third-rate motels. They're not *all* "bad" people--rarely do I come across ones that are actually respectful--but unfortunately many of them give their comrades a very bad rep.
- Michael (10/5): Clean, comfortable stay - Staff was absolutely amazing. Room was exceptionally clean and comfortable, quite large. Basic amenities in room included refrigerator! Plenty of free parking. Restaurants abound in area.
- William (7/5): A nice little gem. Will certainly come back - Quiet area Not many stores within walking distance

- Jeff (7/5): Good -
- Homer (8/5): Very good -
- Arban (4/5): Didn’t stay, after trying to clean the bathroom went wrong. - The room was just very uncomfortable. Barely good enough to take a shower. Had to soak the shower head to clean it. When we went to turn the shower on, the water was black.
- Gina (9/5): Superb -
- Meyer (8/5): Harvey’s is a great place for a traveler on a budget, one that is frugal, not desperate. - I love the location! College East is a seriously underrated area of San Diego. I love that there at least 7 restaurants within walking distance (that I can think of!), as well as several convenience stores and low key shopping. I also think the building has a good layout. The neighborhood seems to be middle/lower middle class, everything about this place and its surroundings make me think of the 70’s, and I’m a gen Z. There was a hole in the bathroom ceiling, though I do see plaster/drywall guys working on the property when I stay here.
- Julia (4/5): Disappointed, and I'm not super picky - I was disappointed in this property. The property was not clean and in good condition. The bed was the hardest bed I've ever slept on. The pillows, two for a queen size bed, we're flat and hard.
There was construction noise coming from an upstairs room above me at 9 o'clock at night. The dirty icemaker available for the whole motel charges a quarter for ice, and it wasn't working when I needed ice. After I first arrived, someone persistently tried to get into my room because they were at the wrong room. No one's fault, just disturbing.
You cannot open the blackout curtains. The room was banged up and not very clean, in my opinion. I would not stay again.
- Gina (10/5): Stay was good. - Did not have breakfast Stay was for work did not spend alot of time at property.
- Jose (4/5): Never again will I book here unless they get better beds - Location The bed was very uncomfortable and loud when we moved, plus ice machine was broken!!!..
- Teddy (7/5): Good -
- Flavia (9/5): Superb -
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean, friendly and quiet. - Basic quiet night's stay. Clean room, friendly office staffer. He was standing in for the owner and had a bit of a learning curve, but it ended up great. I walked a couple blocks to the ExtraMile at the traffic light for coffee because I didn't see any good coffee at the motel. Nice quiet industrial neighborhood .
- Mikhail (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carlos (9/5): Superb -
- Terry (7/5): Good -
- Kirk (8/5): - Stayed at Harvey's mid-week with a late night check-in. The room was clean and spacious with mini-fridge and microwave.I liked the manufactured flooring (vs carpet). Air conditioning worked well. No funny smells or scents. Parking lot well lit. Night desk attendant courteous. Wi-fi was fast. I would stay again.
- Michael (7/5): No frills clean and safe, nothing fancy but a good value. - It’s an older property, a classic motel but clean with a surprisingly firm bed which was very welcome.
- Greg (8/5): Very good -
- Debra (10/5): - Quiet property, felt safe.
- Jim (9/5): Great stay and customer service. Defintely a good value for the money. - I stayed 4 days and no problems. The staff was great. The bedding was a little outdated and bed was hard, but other than that, there were no problems. The place was clean and quiet. The rooms have a microwave and fridge. I would definitely stay there again. The bedding was a little outdated and the bed was very hard.
- Romero (10/5): Great Spot for comfort! - The manager Victor was very friendly an tried his best to accommodate are stay here..He made sure we were comfortable. I Would recommend this motel if your looking for a relaxing area. I feel that you need to upgrade or get new towels.
- Klaudia (7/5): Good -
