For what i paid for a 2 night stay down there I would of thought better service and better rooms ablnd them be in proper shape.

Buildings aren't maintained (crack in toilet bowl, handle didnt work properly, hole in bathroom wall; noted eves of our building were rotting). Continental breakfast was lacking (coffee was very watered down).

The staff were so friendly & the check in/out was quick & efficient. We found it so convenient to walk to the downtown area for shopping and to get some delicious food at the areas many restaurants. Highly recommend Edelweiss & they have different accommodations to choose from.

• Melissa (10/5): - This was the perfect two night stay for me while visiting family nearby. The king bed room was spacious, clean and everything in good working order. The staff were friendly and efficient during check-in and any staff on the grounds over my stay were always friendly. I appreciated the off-season rate considering the town of Ellicottville has higher rate hotels and peak times during ski season. The breakfast included is very basic, but there are other options around, including walking to a café or Tops market. No complaints.

Outside Pool looked clean and inviting. Only complaint was steps outside office need repair.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Reasonable Price! Support Small Businesses! - Unique place! Special stay! Great value in a boutique town! Not super modern or fancy but fits the bill for reasonable price & comfort. Pleasant short walk to fun charming businesses . The streets are lively with restaurants and shops and lush flowers. It’s a beautiful town and the hotel owners will give you a warm welcome.
• Patricia (8/5): Good for price and Clean - Stayed here for a weekend. For the price was good. Room was clean. Carpet and furnishings were dated. Bed was very comfortable. Typical hygiene items were lacking. The only suggestion is bring your shampoo and body wash. I would definitely stay here again.

• Stacy (8/5): - Very cute place with a swimming pool. Plenty of parking. They are redoing the grounds and should look beautiful once done. We stayed in the main lodge and the room was quite big! Room could use a good deep clean and a fresh coat of paint. Bathroom was a bit dirty on the walls and corners. Tub drained slow. Toilet and bathtub/shower were separate from the sink area. Which is nice. Small fridge next to bathroom sink. Plenty of seating and dresser storage. Small closet with a few hangers. No facial tissues, which was odd. Bathroom amenities included small shampoo, small soap, and a couple makeup wipes. There was a small coffee maker with cups and coffee, etc. The beds were very nice and plenty of pillows. There are chairs to sit at outside your door on the porch area. Staff was friendly. We did not try the free breakfast. Easily walkable into town main area for shopping and dining.

• Jeff (6/5): - We really enjoyed the location, the views and the walk ability to the quaint downtown. Our room was very small, but had a clean and comfortable king size bed. The property showed wear and tear inside the room and on the outside. Several small “fixes“ Would really elevate this hotel. For example, providing hooks in the bathroom or additional storage areas in the room would be very helpful. The price was affordable and we did enjoy our stay overall One funny incident. Our room had plenty of towels, but only one washcloth. When I went to the front desk for an additional washcloth, I was grilled by the woman at the desk as to what had happened to my other washcloths. I’m sure a lot of towels are stolen, but I felt it was a bit much to question the need for another cloth.
• Heidi (6/5): Not theilled - The bed was nice. The tub and sink need a little updating. The pool was pretty good. On the 2nd day the manager told us we couldN’t jump in the pool. There are no signs that indicate that and his delivery was like an angry parent telling us what to do rather than a concern for safety. I thought the second night was quite expensive given there was no one at the hotel

• Robin (4/5): Bad substandard hotel - The large we stayed in was below average. Carpet tore up in the foyer. Very musty smell in the room. Room was not as indicated on the website. Upgrade definitely needs to be made. I would never stay there again.
• Shawna (8/5): We love staying here but... could be better. - We love staying here, but a few things could be better. We’ve stayed here several times and genuinely enjoy it — it’s become our go-to spot. But every time, the upstairs AC just doesn’t work well, and it’s clearly been an ongoing issue. We’ve never brought it up because we assume they’re aware, but it does make it really uncomfortable upstairs in the summer. The check-in experience wasn’t great this time — the guy who helped us didn’t seem very friendly, which was a bummer. It also took some back and forth to get enough towels, which felt unnecessary, though we eventually got what we needed. We also weren’t checked in on at all, and no one came to collect trash or see if we needed anything the whole weekend. We don’t expect daily housekeeping, but even one or two quick pickups or check-ins would have been appreciated. That said, we do still enjoy staying here — the location is great and we always end up coming back. Just hoping to see a little more attention to comfort and service in the future.

• Karen (4/5): A - Ants !! Lots of them in the bathroom , not to mention the big spider above the smoke detector. The dust on top the TV was very noticeable. We reported the issues to the front desk with pictures . As we left the office i fell right out front of the office !! The sidewalk was so uneven and lifted up 3 inches , i lost my balence and took a hard fall on the sidewalk banging up my knee and forearm. We will never stay here again !!!

• Job (6/5): - The area surrounding the property was very nice. Short distance to the main strip was nice and just a short walk. The room itself was off. The floor itself was crooked and bowed with very little to the room, the curtains covered the AC and fan, the tv was quite old and small. It was a last minute choice and if given other options for the time i needed to stay, I would probably pick another place honestly.

• Thomas (4/5): It could have been better. - The property does have the potential for better, but the management seems clueless on how to do it. Great location, the town is walking distance. Our room needed small repairs. The hair dryer was left sitting on the sink instead of the bracket being attached to the wall, the shower curtain rod was not hanging properly. Breakfast was so-so, offering a limited selection of just cereal, bagels/bread( toast) apples and yogurt. Juice and coffee were also offered with a couple of brands of muffins. The cereal by the way was stale. I guess you get what you pay for.

• Michael (2/5): Bat attack - Do not stay. I got attacked and bitten by bat last night of stay. Plus the person who checked me in was not of legal working age. I was hoping for a simple refund but now I think I look for legal action to pay for my hospital bill- have to get rabies shots.., room had a stale weird smell- not I know why because of the bay.

Door handle into lodge falling off and not lockable. Breakfast included was milk in gallon jug with cereal, or prewrapped muffin. Four apples. Not handicap accessable, located in basement. Hairdryer bracket pulled out of wall. Bed was comfortable.

• Amy (6/5): - It is in the center of Ellicottville so we could walk to church, shopping, restaurants. It was clean enough, the bed was comfortable, plenty of towels. The breakfast was very disappointing! There were some packaged muffins, bread, pb&j, cereal, juice, tea bags. The milk was spoiled - they did bring some fresh when we brought it to their attention. There was no coffee made - had to ask twice for that. There was nothing nutritious and absolutely no fruit. The carafe of hot water was not hot at all, but there was a microwave. When we checked in we received no information or pleasantries. Luckily, we noticed the signage of when and where breakfast was available. None of these things would have bothered me too much except that we paid a LOT for this caliber of accommodations.
• jessica (10/5): - I just spent one night on the way home from an extended trip, and it was perfect. Super clean with extremely comfortable beds (including pillows, and I'm very picky)! Short walk to the center of town, and the family running the lodge is very sweet. Highly recommend!

• Ryan (8/5): Fine for a quick visit - Needed a convenient, reasonably priced room for a quick visit to E’ville and this property provides just that. Clean, but a bit dated. The bed in my room wasn’t the most comfortable but it served its purpose.

• Derek (8/5): - Could not beat the price. Very convenient. Breakfast is limited, but again, for the price I cannot complain. The only scratch mark on an otherwise excellent experience was that a group of partiers must have come back from the bars in the room next to us and were very loud from about 2:30 AM to 4:00 AM. This is not the fault of the property, but something to be aware of for anyone who values a good nights sleep.

• David (2/5): - When we checked into our room, we immediately noticed that the door was already open, which was both strange and concerning. Upon entering, it became clear that the room had not been properly cleaned. The three beds had visible hair, dirt (crumbs), and, most disturbingly, what appeared to be blood spots on the sheets, possibly from bed bugs. As we inspected further, we found a significant amount of debris around the windows, including leftover, partially eaten pretzels. Additionally, there was another door in the room with a deadbolt that wasn’t properly fastened and did not function, creating a serious security concern for my family of four, as someone could potentially enter from that access point. Structural issues were also evident, with cracks in the walls and ceiling, as well as clear signs of the main door repeatedly hitting the wall when opened. Given the poor condition of the room, we strongly believe that this hotel should not be operating in its current state. Within 5–10 minutes, we found another hotel that met our needs and left immediately. This was an unacceptable experience, and I would strongly advise others to avoid this property.
• Cheryl (4/5): Terrible customer service - We left a wallet in the room. I called the desk to go look for it and they came back 30 minutes later and said it wasn't there. Then a few hours later, someone else called and said the cleaner found a wallet on the TV. So the front desk person never went to look and lied. Then I asked to have them mail it to me and I would pay for shipping but they wouldn't do it. I had to drive 2 hours to go pick it up. Terrible customer service!

Our room had a 2nd bedroom, this room did not get any heat, the deadbolt of the door to the outside did not lock, and the king bed was caving towards the middle and slanted downward. The fan in the bathroom didn't work, the rug in the whole room had not been vacuumed, and there was someone else's stuff left in the both the fridge and freezer. I was so disappointed in this place because it was so close and convenient to Holiday Valley, but I will never stay at this hotel again.
