- Verified traveler (2/5): Avoid! Unhygienic! - This place is a joke, when we went to check on, the hotel was closed and restaurant locked. We had to call the owner to come to the site and had to wait 20 mins. When checking in we were told about the room and that in the morning breakfast would be served to us in the restaurant. There is no elevator. Room was made but is incredibly old, the owner has been there 30 years but invested nothing in the place. Bathroom felt unhygienic, room was full of hair everywhere. We did not shower there and left the following morning to our next hotel whom gratefully gave us free early checking 5 hours early, primarily so we could shower. We went to breakfast in the morning, the selection was dire and felt like leftovers. We had the bare minimum i.e. 2 slices of toast, an omlette (when we asked for an egg, they gave us what they wanted to give) and then when we asked to check out, they tried to charge us €24! This should have been discussed at Check in, but wasnt. When challenged, the owner tried to justify it by saying that in 80% of Germany this is the rule, I have spent almost every week this year in the whole western part of Germany, as well as worked here off and on since before Covid, never had I been blindsided by any hotel, they always say that you have booked without breakfast, would you like to add it, so you are aware. The one backed down and we left. But overall, this hotel is no better than a truckers stop, although marked as a hotel, this is a mis-representation of the place.
- Henrik Wedel (8/5): - Rigtig god Landgasthof. Dog var der en smule problemer med vandtemperaturen om morgenen, når alle ville i bad samtidigt. Varmt, koldt, varmt osv. Dejligt stort værelse med alt hvad som hører sig til. Wifi, TV airconditionering. Et virkeligt pænt og velholdt hotel.
- Claudia (6/5): Small room, no front desk - The room was very small, the bed uncomfortable. The cleanliness was acceptable. I had booked this room through hotels.com, and was told during check out that my payment information was not available and I had to pay again. I informed the staff that I had already paid. The hotel told me they will confirm my booking later that day which I found ridiculous. At the end, no additional payment was needed. However, the fact that there is not even a front desk at this hotel did not help with my overall feeling not to recommend this hotel.

- Benedikt (6/5): Gibt besseres - Schlechter Aufenthalt, Zimmer war klein und entsprach nicht den Bildern. Viel Geld für eine bessere Abstellkammer. Bezahlen war eine Katastrophe, haben ein System, mit dem sie sich nicht auskennen und sich nur beschwert haben. Maßlos überfordert
- Natalia (10/5): - Amazing little local gem. Conveniently located to visit Baden Baden, close to the main road and less than 2 hours to Frankfurt airport, free parking is a bonus. The facility is newly renovated, clean and well run. The owner/manager is always available and extremely helpful. Breakfast was amazing. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed on the night we stayed but based on the menu it must be exceptional. Very happy with our last minute decision to stop here. Perfect value for the money.

- Jens (4/5): Habe schon besser übernachtet - Leider war das Zimmer sehr hellhörig. Waschbecken und Minibadezimmer mit sehr hohem Duscheinstieg und Duschvorhang haben zusätzlich an längst überholte Gasthofzeiten erinnert. Das Bett knarrte auch gewaltig und war auch etwas durchgelegen. Fernsehempfang teilweise gestört, bzw konnte nan Sender wie RTL, Sat gar nicht empfangen Ich hoffe das es sich um einnoch nicht renoviertes Zimmer gehandelt hat und die anderen Zimmer besser sind (ZIMMER 10( Die Freundlichkeit und Servicebereitschaft der Mutarbeiterin am Morgen und die gute Brötchenqualität hat den Aufenthalt aber wieder erträglicher genacht.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Vos iz das, mein got! - Rooms are function over form typical German layout, uncomfortable triangle pillows, Smoking still allowed so constant smell of tobacco in hotel made me choke all week but worst thing was the huge gothic church in front of the hotel and it's 3 massive bells constantly blasting! Although stops at midnight but starts at 6am so no alarm clock needed. Staff friendly, food is good local amenities are excellent. Shopping centre nearby also.

- Jean-Claude (10/5): hôtel parfait proche de Baden Baden - Super séjour, dans un cadre fort sympathique proche de Baden Baden, les chambres sont spacieuses, il ne manque rien, confort, douche tout est parfait, petit déjeuner fort copieux, nous sommes accueillis par des personnes charmantes, la serveuse du pt déjeuner fort agréable, tout a été parfait, je recommande chaleureusement cet hôtel, un petit bijou. Nous avons dîné au chalet attenant, qui est très bien aussi. Nous y reviendrons

- Ulric (8/5): Övernattning på väg - På väg från Skåne kom vi hit när det var dags att söka nattlogi. Smidig bokning och ankomst. Det fanns restaurang men inte för oss. Rummet rent och fräscht. Något tråkig utformning på rum men allt fungerade bra. Lungt område och tyst fram till kl 6 då närbelägna kyrkan började ringa. Bra frukost och trevlig betjäning.

- Carlo (6/5): Take ear plugs! A campanologists dream location! - Located in a quiet village. Car parking free and available. Free Wi-fi. The hotel is to the rear of a established restaurant. The room was small and basic but clean. My room had no view apart from a wall. Unfortunately this hotel has no air conditioning! The service was friendly and efficient. The room was very noisy. The walls must be paper thin as I could hear the people next room to me talking like they were in the same room!!! The hotel is next to a lovely church.... unfortunately at 0700 the bells start ringing, and then continue to ring every 15 minutes. No alarm clocks needed here!!!!

Frühstück dürftiges in Plastik verpackter Aufstrich.

- Zaklina (10/5): Great place to stay - Great place to stay, very friendly and profesional staff. Nice spacious clean room. The only down fall is the bells ringing from the church right next to it. Quite frequent as well. My suggestion would be to leave disposal ear plugs in the rooms for the guests who didn’t come prepared! The restaurant is amazingly good! Lovely hearty food, i had the best meal in ages and I do eat out quite often. The meat was just suculent and the Spätzle to die for! Compliments to the Chef and top marks for the service as well! Lovely waitress with a great smile. Breakfast was very pleasant as well. Thank you to the whole team for making this stay very enjoyable. I will definitely come back again.

Camera molto spartana...mancavano sia i punti luce che le prese di corrente. Bagno in cattive condizioni.. con una sola lampadina e senza prese ....doccia da sistemare. La colazione invece ottima e abbondante.

It very close se to the church and you can hear church bell from 6AM. The WiFi is free and very good. The breakfast is very limited variety but was OK.

- John (10/5): Enjoyable stay in a friendly hotel. - This is a friendly Hotel in a quiet area, with the exception of the church bells which were constant. Unfortunately most of the rooms overlook the beer garden which was quite noisy if you like an early night.
- Trevor (8/5): A great stay outside Baden-Baden - The Guest House is located in a small village not far from Baden-Baden. It is very typical and is well maintained and family run. The attached restaurant is excellent with a wide range of German food and reasonable prices. Breakfast was good. We stayed one night on the way North from Switzerland as the hotel is located a short drive off the autobahn. However it would also be a good location to explore the local area.

- J D (6/5): Good value near Baden-Baden - I had a weekend combining football and sightseeing. The gasthof was in Sinzheim near Baden-Baden. It was convenient for the S Bahn, 2 stops from Baden-Baden station. The local bus service was infrequent but the location was convenient for Baden-Baden if travelling by car. The Ochsen was good value (cheaper than Baden-Baden itself) with a clean, spacious room with good, free wifi. The staff were welcoming and helpful. There was a choice of wholesome meals with generous portions available in the restaurant. I am intending to return to the area and would stay at the Ochsen again. They have live music on occasion but the rooms are far enough away not to be affected.

- Kathy (10/5): Nice gasthaus in a quiet town - This was a great place to stay only a few minutes outside Baden Baden. Restaurant was excellent, we ate there twice. Yes there is a church next door and the bells ring loudly- I liked it!
- Chris (8/5): OK For The Price. - Free parking, breakfast and WIFI...a decent deal in Germany but must have a car to get around. Stopped over for a night as all the Hotels in Baden Baden were fully booked. Breakfast was great with personalised service and choice available were decent. Only thing I didn't like was that the Hotel is located next to a church and from 6am onwards...the bells will ring (longer on the hour, and shorter on every fifteen minutes. A natural alarm clock. So, not recommended for those who wish to sleep late.
