- Tysharda (9/5): One of Our Homes Away from Home 🏡 - The Billini Hotel has truly become our home away from home. Celebrating our 22nd wedding anniversary—and renewing our vows there—was magical, just like the previous stays (yes, we’re at about seven visits now!). The staff always goes above and beyond, and the food is consistently top-notch. My family and friends were blown away by the experience. The newer champagne bar is a lovely addition, offering little tapas perfect for relaxing outside. We’ve always adored the cathedral view rooms (where we first fell in love with the hotel), but the owner’s suite is now our go-to. Oh, and their mojitos? Absolute favorites—they pack a mighty punch! The rooftop pool and stargazing at night really seal the deal—the vibes are spectacular up there! And their pizza spot offers an incredible variety—our favorite was the olive and tapenade pizza! There is also a Cafe below the pizza shop that has coffee and the most amazing pastries!! Plus, you can’t beat the Colonial Zone for location— Steps away from shopping, restaurants and bodegas. The ONLY reason I did not give the Billini a 10 was because the water was not hot on demand and there were no washcloths daily. These are thw tiniest things to such an AMAZING PROPERTY, STAFF and LOCATION.

- Karen (10/5): Wonderful hotel! - Such a beautiful hotel in a wonderful location. We stayed there twice. I especially liked the plaza outside next to the church, where you could sit and have breakfast from the hotel …or go to the cafe next door. The staff was exceptionally nice and helpful. I also really appreciated the service from the taxi service they work with, Felix Tours, who took us to and from Las Terrenas and offered us water, cough drops (we needed them), good music, and good conversation. There was one morning when the hot water didn’t work so not sure what happened.

- SavvyWeirdo (6/5): The hot tub is still not hot! - It's reasonably nice and in a great location but basic stuff didn't work at this hotel. Calling room service or the front desk got no answer so I had to go down to the first floor every time. The hot tub was not hot despite two attempts by the hotel to fix the issue. The room key cards did not work, despite their reissuing them to me four times, and the part on the door had to be replaced. They took an hour to fix it while we were in the room waiting for them to leave and watching our room service order get cold. On the plus side, the restaurant food was decent and the massage was amazing. But if you have read posts about the hot tub not working and hoped that it was a one-off situation, no. Apparently, it never gets hot and is just eye candy to lure in customers with hopes of a nice hot soak that, sorry, you cannot have.

- bikingmom (10/5): Great hotel in a perfect location - We stayed here for one night to explore Santo Domingo. The hotel is in the perfect location . We loved the service and our room was beautiful. We were on the first floor so we had very high ceilings and a little outdoor courtyard. We enjoyed the welcome drink and sitting at the pool watching the sunset. The staff are super nice and attentive. We would stay here again:)

(7/5): Stylish historic hotel, but overpriced for the overall value offered - The room itself was nicely designed, clean, and comfortable, and the water pressure worked well throughout the stay. The staff was kind and polite, and the hotel maintains a pleasant boutique atmosphere that fits well within the historic area. The price felt far too high for what was offered. The cathedral view was disappointing and not worth the premium, it mostly faced a brick wall and was not impressive at all. The lighting in the room also worked oddly, which affected the overall comfort and experience.

Chambre grande, moderne et bien integrée dans le style de l age du batiment. Tres belle salle de bain . Piscine sur le toit bien agreable . Chambre au rez de chaussé donnant d un cote sur la salle du petit dejeuner, matin bruyant, et de l autre sur la placette et les tables de restaurant juste devant la fenetre ...bruyant le soir. Lit confortable mais qui fait du bruit à chaque mouvement! Petit dejeuner a revoir ... oeufs prepares a la minute mais mini croissant racit, beurre aux herbes uniquement et pas de jus de fruit frais hormi un jus de cerise ... dommage pour un hotel de ce standing.

But at this level of price you expect almost a simple perfection: it was not, two main complaints the noise in the room coming from the swimming pool, for a while i was thinking about a seaside effect for relaxing… it was not plus the cleaning of the beautiful terrace, noisy again when you want to relax, then in a very short formulation a disappointing breakfast. Personal very nice and beautiful area.

- Graciela Gonzalez (7/5): Lindas instalaciones. - El personal es demasiado amable, el desayuno estuvo muy bien. Las instalaciones estan bien. Nos alojaron en el tercer piso llegamos y el sonido de los equipos de la piscina en la habitacion era algo muy molesto, a media noche el aire acondicionado dejo de enfriar, muy incomodo eso. Al momento de irnos el Valet no encontraba la llave de nuestro vehiculo, nos cuestiono y me hizo buscar en mi cartera la llave, muy incomodo, duramos casi 20 minutos para que apareciera, la tenian en el lobby, no sabemos porque.

- Angelica (10/5): The Best Scape - I love the Billini Hotel. The rooms are spotless and the building is beautiful, steeped in Dominican history. The entire staff is very professional, the food is excellent, and the reception staff is wonderful, always willing to make your stay a wonderful experience, taking advantage of everything this incredible place has to offer. Walking around the city's colonial center is very beautiful and safe.

- Luis (8/5): - We have stayed before in different hotels in the area. We love the architecture, the setting in the historical district. The bedrooms are a deal breaker when selecting hotels for our last two trips to DR this year, they are superior to those of comparable hotels, including Nicolás de Ovando, which is a hotel we love. Staff service is very good. The renovations conducted recently (and ongoingly) in the zone have made the hotel feel closer to key spaces such as the cathedral, Parque Colón, Plaza de España, Paseo del Conde, among others.

- Eric (8/5): I loved the ambience of this hotel, and will return. - I loved the architecture, room design, location, and comfortable lounge sitting area. The staff were lovely. Nice rooftop area for dinner seating. The a/c worked great. The food was mediocre, the pillows were poor quality. My shower would not stay on, but kept reverting to the handheld which was annoying. Also, the checkout process was slow when I asked for a printout.

The hotel property is amazing and has a very cosy feeling to it. I enjoyed the vast variety of breakfast options they had. Would love to stay there again.
- Robert (9/5): Great place to stayin Casco Viejo DR! - Great hotel always live staying there. Staff are great and the place is beautiful. Nice relaxing rooftop walking distance to everything in Casco. Extensive road works in Casco Viejo now cannot be ignored but still enjoyed the place!

However, as we had experiences with the service, like requests for towels, we started sensing weaknesses. I am not sure if I would stay there again, or will go back to Nicolás de Ovando, our usual hotel in the colonial zone.
- Eric (10/5): Comfortable stay in a facility that successfully combines ancient and modern elements. - Breakfast had abundant choices if the breakfast option is chosen at purchase of room. Fresh and tasty. Location in a central area of the "Zona Colonial, Nice pool and rooftop dining. No fault of the hotel but a lot of road construction currently going on in the area makes traffic somewhat more slow than the usual slowness. Will be resolved fairly soon. Not a major issue.

- Simon (8/5): Very good - Lovely historic hotel in great Colonial zone location. Nice rooftop pool and bar, excellent buffet breakfast and welcome drink. Room was stunning and bathroom was spacious and elegant. Expensive for what it was. Noisy due to location. If there is no buffet breakfast available and you bought the breakfast package, you have to argue for what you want.

- tania (4/5): Buen servicio, malas instalaciones - El hotel está bien ubicado, sin embargo el aire no sirve solo hay ventilador loq hace q el cuarto sea un sauna, no hay ningún bloqueo de sonido, se escucha desde los platos de la cafetería q es en la pb hasta la gente q transita en los corredores, la terraza no tiene servicio, subí estuve por 15 min y nadie apareció, había un matrimonio en la cafetería lo q hacía difícil pasar hacia la recepción q estaba en el camino, el personal muy atento pero las instalaciones todas viejas, no justifica el precio en lo absoluto

- Rosario (10/5): - This property is centrally located and within walking distance of many restaurants and shops. I stay here every time I visit Santo Domingo. The price is a bit high, but it's worth it if you enjoy an upscale atmosphere.
