Guest Reviews
- Martha (6/5): - When we first got in, it was kinda musty smell. We turned air on and it kinda sorta wasnt as bad. We had good water pressure once we learned how to open it to full max flow. The bed was comfortable. It was ok for a night. The room was clean.
- joseph (6/5): - food was lacking, room was clean, staff were nice, tv was awful hardly worked
- Lisa (4/5): - The property was very run down snd the room was dirty and outdated. Damage on the ceiling was leaking.
- Jason (8/5): - Location was convenient and pretty affordable. Bedding was very comfortable. Walls were a little thin, and some of the outlets on the lamps didn't seem to work. I had a little trouble with my internet connection immediately after connecting to the wifi, but in the morning it was working perfectly. Overall a pleasant stay.
- rrenee (8/5): - This was my 3rd stay at Cherry Lane Motor Inn. The rooms are clean. their breakfast offerings are very simple I do wish they would offer a better TV selection however we were no there for the TV. Its quite and centrally located for all the area has to offer and you cannot beat their price
- Beverly (8/5): - close to Tanger Outlets, Farmers Market and Kitchen Kettle Village. Did not east breakfast here
- Douglas (10/5): - Nice peaceful setting. The staff was great.
- Michael (8/5): - Ok stay for the price.
- richard (6/5): - Positive - The room was clean.
Negative - Curtain was falling off rod, large stains and rips in carpet, no hangers or iron for clothes, front door on the inside had large paint scrape.
Outside of property could use some TLC.
- Kristine (10/5): - Wonderful staff. Friendly and helpful.
- Keith (2/5): - This is a very poor motel.
- Susana (10/5): - Nice, comfortable place to stay with nice staff. Plus, they’re very honest because I left my iPhone charger in cord and came back next day and they had collected it for me and returned it.
- ANGELIKA (8/5): - Loved being close to everything and not having to pay that much per night. It needs an upgrade. Run down, but clean
- Paula (4/5): NOPE! - I thought the place was awful. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Their breakfast consisted of Coffee, water, orange juice, cereal (no milk) bread, and bagels you had to open the bags yourself, and only 1/2 the toaster worked. Room was dark very poor lighting. Back of entry door was 3 different layers of paint you could see every color. Water in the pool was very cloudy! Nasty!
- Jeanne (4/5): Extremely disappointed - The room was very outdated. TV was muffled and taped together 4 channels. Lamp shade hanging off and light bulb leaning it was hot and cracked. It could a cute motel if kept up with. Dog poop all over lawn.
- Hugo (2/5): - You get what you pay for.
- Evelio (8/5): - The place was great it's an older place but it was good for the price and convenience.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Disappointed. - Neither bedside outlet worked. Toilet seat was loose. Peeling paint. Phone did not work. toilet filled too full of water and privates hung down into water.
- John (6/5): - It was just OK. It was on the old side. But good for the price.
- Maily (2/5): - There was a moldy smell in the room - the shower stall was dirty like camping - walked into the hallway was filthy and moldy- I started having allergies and my voice was hoarse
They use room deodorant to mask the moldy smell
- Kathryn (2/5): - I couldn't make it i had car trouble
- Carol (4/5): - The outside appearance and the office appeared to have not been maintained in years. The small office which doubled as breakfast area, tiny and shabby, every surface needed scraping and painting. The room was difficult just to enter and had 4 different locks installed. The door had been an exterior door, now interior with a window now covered with heavy canvas cloth attached top and bottom on awkward C curtain rods. It was unappealing inadequate “breakfast “. Positive things, the grass yard and flowers looked lovely and the bed itself was fairly comfortable.
- Heather (10/5): Decent place to stay - Clean place to stay for the night.
- Karen (6/5): - Oh my where do i start. When we got there noticed the lobby was a mess. My room wasnt horrible but definitely dated. Place might need some work. Room was clean and quiet for most part. Pool was gross and no good breakfast..just coffee and packaged pie. Could be worse. Could be better.
- Caitlin (8/5): - Clean hotel, had a big room but small bathroom.
Most outlets in the room didn’t work, only one working lamp (no over head light). Phone had to charge near the door because there were none working closer. Staff pleasant.
- Haruethai (10/5): - Good
- Scott (4/5): - Very outdated and worn. Doors have out lived their usefulness. Many repairs done on them over time. First room we we shown smelled terrible with smoke, no good. Second room was better but everything old and worn. Not as much smoke smell but you could tell it had been smoked in over the years. Staying there was something like a third world country. We will not go there again.Desk person was nice .
- Shelley (8/5): Girl Trip - It was a good location and does offer a continental breakfast. The room was clean.
- Jeffrey (2/5): - There was no hot water in room 6, mirror was cracked from top to bottom, furniture looked like it was taken from the recycling station. When you have 3 locks on a door then you realize it is not the safest area. Never again. it is worth spending the $100.00 more to get a decent hotel, then it is to save money. Don't let the pictures fool you, inspect the rooms first before submitting payment. The Bates motel had hot water.
- Cheryl A (10/5): - My husband and I are not into ultra-modern decor and/or furniture. This motel can best be described as tastefully done in classic American Colonial. We also liked the friendly staff and the Continental breakfast area. Once again, done in American Colonial. We will definitely stay there again.
- Michael (10/5): Excellent motel!!! - It was Great stay!!!!
- Linda (4/5): Disappointing place to stay - First, the gentleman that checked us in was pleasant. The price was good. Second, the room was clean but the mirror was broke over the sink. The tv didn't have local channels and the channels that it did have were not good at all. The website said they had wifi, but we didn't get a password and I couldn't get any connection to the wifi. The walls needed painting, paint was chipping off everywhere. Had to let the hot water run for a while to get hot water at all. I would not recommend staying here. I know we are not going to.
- Deborah (8/5): - Nice quiet location. Staff very friendly. Breakfast not what expected.
- Susan (6/5): - It needed some updating , but for the price it was nice
- Claudia (8/5): - Worked for us, and was priced right
- Diane (8/5): - Very quaint place, nothing fancy but staff was very pleasant and beds very comfortable. Other than not being able to get ABC, NBC or CBS and no coffee pot in the room we had a very comfortable night - would come back for sure.
- Lexus (2/5): - They have dog that run around and they growl at you
- Beth (8/5): I'd stay again - It was old, but clean.
- Judy (6/5): - Older motel. Room dusty. Second floor rooms are hard for some seniors to get to easily . Steep steps . No elevator . Breakfast fair.
Bath rooms were clean. Shower head loose.
- David (2/5): Cherry Lane Flop House - Room 5 was up an narrow, beat up staircase. When we entered the room it was rough. The refrigerator was rusty. Inside was a rigged up light dangling with a large LED bulb in it. The window didn't completely close. The door trim was broken with a piece of metal strap tacked up to slide the deadbolt into. The room hasn't been renovated in years if ever. It was, beyond doubt the worst room we have ever rented anywhere. It even smelled bad. We took the key back and checked out, not receiving a refund. I didn't care. We checked out and drove three hours back home to a clean, modern comfortable home. Do not stay there unless you're looking for a flop house.
- Gail (8/5): - Clean and convenient and very quiet. I woke up to the sound of hoof beats on the street from the Amish buggies.
- Steven (6/5): - The property was good value in a pricey area, any my room was good and the bed clean and comfortable -- but the water supply was COLD only -- like a quick camping shower. The proprietor said he'd look into that but, based on past reviews, this problem has been ongoing for a while. Beautiful quiet farm area, but the property itself is shabby around the edges. My noise complaint (not really mgmt fault) was guest in the room below me played the television loudly enough to hear and almost feel it, all. night. long.
Put some effort into fixing this place up; it deserves better. The "breakfast" was pretty laughable, sparse.
- PATRICIA (6/5): - Close to the American Music Theater.
The property is old, signs of rust and just very dated.
Lovely property manager
- daniel (10/5): - Nice place to stay, quiet and relaxing.
- Tar (10/5): - Love this place! Quiet very nice staff and the biggest plus we get to see the Amish pass by on their horse and buggy!
- Cathy (2/5): - Dirty, out dated and stinky room
- sally (2/5): - The three dogs were great but we had nobody to clean feces off the shower curtain or do the garbage, the place was real dirty and we will never stay there again
- Harry (10/5): - This place was okay, but really run down looking. Room was same.
- MICHAEL (8/5): - Nice room, clean, comfortable bed
- YOLANDA (10/5): - Everything ok. Only that the last day no breakfast (was closed) nobody answer But anyway so grateful
- Robin (6/5): - I last stayed at Cherry Lane about 40 years ago and remembered it fondly. It's still next to the same lovely Amish farm fields. The owners have three very friendly Golden Retrievers, which is a great way to be greeted. On the downside, I never was able to connect to the Internet even with a second link to try. Also, their Direct TV had few stations (made fewer by a dispute with Disney), no network shows and no round-the-clock news.
- Sean (2/5): - Hotel was dirty and outdated. Advertised free breakfast, there was none. Office did not open until after 8 am. Manager had 3 large dogs running around the property. The pool was green and old furniture was stored in corners of hallways
- Gary (8/5): - Room was torn apart like it was going to be worked on. Everything was dirty unkept. Main office was kept locked someone had to come to the door.
- George (6/5): Mediocre - Kind of run down, needs major update. We went cheap and got what we paid for.
Would not go back
- Robert (8/5): - Beds were comfy, staff was friendly, views were fantastic. Woke to roosters crowing and clipclop of carriage horses. Off main roads but convenient drives to anywhere. Tv channels were terrible, air conditioner was too loud, cheapest plastic toilet seat I’ve ever seen, and continental breakfast was sparse. And shower controls needed to be replaced. But place cost about half of larger name brand hotels. I’d stay again.
- Jackie (4/5): - The motel is on the run-down side. Other nearby properties seemed to be in much better order. The complimentary breakfast consists of orange juice and coffee, two choices of cold cereal, a loaf of bread to toast, bagels with cream cheese, and boxed pies. There is no protein available.
The staff was courteous.
- Steven (8/5): - Outdoor pool, continental Breakfast. Very quiet and peaceful neighborhood.
- ROBERT (10/5): - the property is in a nice location, the staff is very friendly including his three retrievers, the rooms definitely need to be updated but they are clean
- Barbara (4/5): - Very run down! Pool unusable and they kept telling us the pool would be open but it didn’t even have a filter just green water! Not nice!
- Floyd (2/5): - When we arrived there was a young man sitting outside the office on his phone. He said he would make a call and for us to go into the office. There were spiders in a web over the counter. The lady did not seem to understand me and she kept wanting me to fill out the registration card. At this point I looked outside at the pool and it was green, unswimable for sure. I told her we were cancelling our reservations reservation and we walked out.
The pictures online were deceiving and you should be checking properties you are representing.
- Cendra (10/5): - Staff was very friendly. Room was clean but bed was very hard.
- Rose (10/5): - It was a wonderful Get-Away Place to stay.
- Edward (10/5): - Cozy, quaint and quiet. Peter and his family were great hosts. There is a continental breakfast, a swimming pool, and ample parking. If you are looking for an affordable alternative to big box hotels, this is the place.
- Thomas (8/5): Comfortable Stay - Comfy for an older motel. Called ahead and asked to have the A/C turned on so the rooms would be cool when we arrived and that the rooms be close to each other. Both accomplished without any issue. Check in/out were quick and easy. Staff was friendly. Just off the beaten path but very close to any of the area attractions.
- Jacqueline (8/5): - Quiet easy parking, friendly staff, outside pool
- Douglas Waterman (10/5): - Entire place was FANTASTIC!!!!!! TV Could use a few more channels...too limited....nothing popular!!!!!
- Janet (8/5): - Room was clean and neat. Only issue was the television did not have many stations. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The location was perfect for seeing the Amish lifestyle
- Halei (8/5): Enjoyed my stay. - Good enough for the price. It was clean, it is ran down a bit. But very quiet & very safe.
I would definitely come back. There are also people that live there for sure and owners dogs run around the property as well. We are dog lovers so we didn’t mind.
- Linda (4/5): - carpeting needs replaced to get rid of musty smell. TV - 4 channels. would not have watched but rain arrived late afternoon. pool looked nice but overcast. do not care for keys to lock and unlock front door. bathroom - have to step up to get in bathroom. Fall risk waiting to happen in middle of night. Mgr super nice. room was clean. Breakfast Bagel was fresh but only coffee offered, glad I brought my tea bags. felt safe there
- JOHN (8/5): - Clean and quite, good for the price.
- JOHN (10/5): - If your looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay. It works.
- carol (10/5): - Very attractive, unique, a one of a kind experience. I will recommend Cherry Lane Motor Lodge to my family and friends.
- ruthy (4/5): - Hallway on 2nd floor smelled funky, room was musty and the air conditioner was very dirty, taped shut, not secure on the wall. Didn't use (yuk). Breakfast (coffee, cereal, bagels). Reviews I found rated it a 6-7 for everything but that's not true....It might have been that way years ago but really run down (except for the office). I will not go back there and wouldn't recommend it to anyone... The Manager, Joe, tried his best and made a lot of excuses for things but kept apologizing... He did the best he could for us. Kudos to him!!
- Pansy (10/5): Excellent service. - I was there for only one night, yet, it was an amazing stay. The manager was very helpful in giving me directions to places. I would surely come again, and would recommend to others.
- Melissa (10/5): - It was a great place to stay
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The motel is pretty dated and a bit musty but quiet and comfortable enough for me traveling alone. The shower/bath - unit 10 - had an area that needs to be patched before damage gets worse. There are farm fields out the back but, unfortunately, there is no view of them. Most of the neighbors are Amish so it's pretty cool to hear the horse buggies clip-clopping down the road from inside the room. Breakfast was basic but the coffee and conversation with the owner/manager was pleasant.
- Lori (10/5): - Very clean. Nice and quiet. Got a great night's sleep.
- Brianna (10/5): - Room was very nice mostly everything worked we had our beds made and fresh towels given to us the staff was nice
- LARRY (4/5): TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT - The office was cluttered and uninviting to guests. The hotel staff is very unpleasant. We were greeted by 3 friendly dogs, in fact, one went right into our room when we opened the door. The room is very outdated. The furniture is as old as the building. It needs serious updating. There was some remodeling done in the bathroom and was very cheap and not done by a professional to say the least. The mirror over the sink is very old with the silver peeled off all around the edges and it was cracked from top to bottom. The thermostat just inside the door was broken so bad that there was no way to see what setting it was on and what was there ended up falling on to the floor. The room for the vending machines, ice machine, and laundry machines was very dirty and unsanitary. The TV was a disgrace with no live TV stations or sports and the internet was terrible and unsecure. We will not be staying here again.
- Wesley (10/5): - Very cordial-bit long in the tooth with Indian Paki maintenance-but good value
- LARRY (4/5): TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT - NO RETURN FOR US - The office was cluttered and uninviting to guests. The hotel staff is very unpleasant. We were greeted by 3 friendly dogs, in fact, one went right into our room when we opened the door. The room is very outdated. The furniture is as old as the building. It needs serious updating. - Verified traveler (8/5): Good bargain - Cherry Lane has updated some since our last stay, most noticeably the bathroom. There's still a lot more that can be done in the way of painting. The lawns and pool are always nice!
- Kenneth (10/5): - I love the setting and nice quiet area not too far from the shopping areas No hustle and bustle. I would definitely recommend to my friends .
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good experience - Inexpensive nice place to stay for short trips.
- Steven (4/5): - Could not use the shower, the handle fell off that controls the water.
- ROBERT (6/5): - I've stayed there over the years and the property definitely needs to be upgraded.
- Cynthia (8/5): - The staff is very friendly and their dogs are sweet. Feels like family here
- Valerie (2/5): - we didn't like anything! We ended up getting someplace else and didn't stay. The facility hadn't seen a good cleaning, updating or a paint brush anywhere inside or else. The outside of the building had furniture sitting outside the rooms on the landing outside the doors. Was trying to save money but not to that extent. They need to update the pics on their website!!!!!!
- Golda (4/5): Cherry Ehhh - The motel needs updated. The sheets had blood stains & the walls had paint chipped & missing. Carpet kind of gross.
- Linda (4/5): - People in the office were as helpful as possible, considering that they spoke very broken English. The property is in need of extensive renovation. Very tired and run dow. They were kind enough to allow us into our room half an hour early. With that said, the room was stone cold. It took more than 2 hours to warm up to a tolerable temperature. Their website said that they offer a free, continental breakfast. Turns out it's just coffee, so, we had to go out for breakfast. Sorry, but I cannot recommend this hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The Owners were very pleasant; however, the room needed a thorough cleaning and a major overhaul.
- Richard (10/5): Comfortable in a rural setting. - Very comfortable, clean, and friendly staff. It is no frills, limited continental breakfast, with dining area.
WARNING: They do have several friendly dogs free to roam the property. I love dogs and enjoyed them. If you don’t like dogs or have allergies, you may want to consider other options
- Barbara (10/5): - Good location
- Dorothy (8/5): - Location
- Jeffrey (8/5): - Good place to stay heard noises from the other room
- Louise (6/5): - The property needs to be brought up to date. It looks pretty old. The water pressure is Nil. It’s OK for an overnight but they really need to fix their water pressure, water was cold but then it got hot. I guess you have to let it run. At 12 o’clock at night you heard children running back-and-forth in the rooms. I guess the walls are thin but if you’re doing a quick overnight then it’s OK.
- William (6/5): - Property is a bit dated. There seems to be some long term tenets living there.
- David (4/5): - Room smelled dirty and moldy. Window screen torn. Rug dirty and torn. Electrical outlets that didn’t work. Sheets worn thin. Motel seemed like a fire trap. Would not stay there again or recommend it to anybody.
- Sandra (10/5): - It was close to my class I was taking.
- Brenda (2/5): - The carpet was filthy. But worse yet the room had a musty odor that after opening the window and running the air conditioning for several hours did not help.
