Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The photos for this are at least 10 if not more years old. The hotel is very run down and dirty.
- Norbert (2/5): - Place needs some work and cleanup
- Geoffrey (8/5): Expect what you pay for - Staff was kind and helpful, room was clean, air conditioning worked, the roof didn't leak, and the neighbors were nice. Everything I needed and nothing I didn't, great price...
- Lenora (2/5): - It was so gross we didn't stay. It should be condemned. I want a refund.
- Lisa (2/5): Don't Stay Here - The pictures on-line must have been from about 20 or 30rd years ago. The restaurant has been closed. This place is in very bad condition. The towels in the room were small and so stained we couldn't feel good about taking a shower. The heater/air conditioner was ducktaped to the wall, we were afraid to turn it on.The tile was broken and chipped. No toilet paper holder. The shower shot water out and over the shower curtain onto the toilet. The outside was as dirty and run down as the inside. We will never stay here again and warn others! And all over in the lobby are bid signs that say NO REFUNDS.
- Monica (2/5): - The property was quite dirty. The room had not been cleaned after the previous guest. We did not stay, and the Burlington Inn would not give us a refund.
- Peter (2/5): - Place should be tore down
- Joanna (2/5): - Run from this place. Just sleep in your car if you can’t afford a motel. Dirty floors, 14 flies few from inside the window when we pulled back the curtain. Room actually came with a fly swatter so guess flies are included in nightly rate. Parking lot had potholes 18-wheeler tires would sink in. We were tired, we stayed since it was non-refundable.
- Peggy (6/5): Nice person to work with! - Very nice person at desk.
- Rhonda (2/5): - Bugs, no lights in the hallway overall-dirty
- Scott (8/5): - Good stay. Exterior of property needs a little work but staff was friendly, room was clean, bed was comfy, WiFi was decent, shower was good. Great stay for the price.
- Kenneth (2/5): - I drove 12 hours from Illinois and when I got there the manager said he didn’t have a room for me because the maid quit the day before. I had to book a room at the Econolodge and the lady that worked there said the Burlington Inn manager is very shady and can’t be trusted. I called Expedia and they said they would try to get a refund back for me and contact me within 48 hours with a refund. Got an email today telling me I’m not getting my money back. Burlington Inn and Expedia both dropped the ball on this one.
- Christy (2/5): Gross!! - Room was not clean, hair all over tub, back of toilet, floor, sheets. Bugs in room ashes on sink, trash all over property, carpet almost black it was so filthy, used toilet paper roll with stuff on it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Customer - Hostess was cery hospitable, a decent place to stay for a fair price...
- Reid (2/5): - The hotel pictures and rating on the Expedia website were very misleading. The hotel is filthy, definitely not to code, and there were countless bugs in our room. We left immediately and found accommodation elsewhere.
- Katie (2/5): - The front desk lady was nice but that's the only thing positive to say. The property is falling apart. The outside was unkept and unclean. The room had stains all over the walls and the bedding. The comforters had blood stains and lipstick stains and as well dirt stains. We called (from our cell, no room phone) to get a replacement comforter and when they brought it up, the lady was smoking a cigarette and it was in the same hand she handed the comforter to me. The mini fridge was stained/dirty on the inside and in a place not near an outlet so we had to move it in order to use it. The floor tiles were broken and coming up, the toilet stained/dirty as well as the tub. We asked for a refund. We would have booked somewhere else for the night but everything in Burlington was booked.
- Lee (2/5): - We wanted this to be a successful stay - we want to support independent businesses. But there were no blankets, one of the beds was badly stained and the bath was quite awful. So we regretfully had to request our money back, and went somewhere else. I really hope that the owners are indeed in the process of renovation. But they will need to be much improved to get my business again,
- Clayton (8/5): Solid place for a road trip break. - One quick night stay as part of our trip. The rooms looks better than the outside. Walls were thin and could hear the rooms next to us. But it was a solid place especially for what we needed it for. Front desk was nice.
- John (2/5): - This hotel is closed for renovations
- Christina (2/5): - Did not end up staying! Nobody there to check us in, there were 2 phone numbers to call and both went straight to voicemail. Tried to check in for over 2 hours! Had to get another room else where. Found out by locals that motel is used for homeless locals and has been known to have bugs. Pictures of motel are not up to date at all.
- mel (2/5): - 1970’s with no updates but an excellent price
- John (2/5): - Do not stay here, It is need of an overhaul. The smell in the room was awful and over powering. When we arrived there were no lights and the parking lot had so much water in large puddles. The hotel sign and parking lot lights were not on, you would of thought it was closed. Should of been out first clue. The door into the office is shattered. The front desk clerk was ok, not friendly but not rude either. I would never stay here again and should of asked for a refund and left!
- Mark (2/5): Reception from Hell! - After experiencing the disgustingly dirty & smelly reception I could not imagine actually staying in this hotel room.
The glass doors were smashed & cracked. The amount of dirt & spider webs unbelievable, like something out of 'The Addams Family'!
When I expressed concern & asked for a refund the guy who let me in, & smelled of alcohol, got an attitude & demanded that I leave.
I do not understand why Hotels.com would have such a horrible property on their availability?
- Cynthia (8/5): - The room was clean n cozy. However the entrance to the hotel check in area was covered in snow n ice!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Huge spider web and spider in bathroom!
- Carole (6/5): - Front desk not very welcoming- just there to do a job
- Steve (2/5): - This property is closed. Arrived at the location and lobby door was locked, phone numbers posted to call went unanswered. Please do not try to book this hotel!!!
- Bart (6/5): Clean but Run Down - A/C fan was in bad shape and too noisy to use. Fridge was turned off and when turned on froze things. No breakfast despite advertising it. Generally run down but clean with comfortable beds
- Miles (8/5): - The building is not very attractive but the rooms were clean and very comfortable.
- Donald (2/5): - The hotel room was infested with flies.
- Dolores (8/5): - The beds were really comfortable.
- Randall (4/5): - The room was clean. Front fest was very irritated ang condescending with me and my late check in. It was 12am on a friday and I called the place to let them know it was going to be a late check in. I was nice and didn't respond
- Nash (4/5): - This property had false advertising there is no breakfast. The rooms have bugs, a bug crawled on me at night. Plus the outside smells like manure.
- Alicia (10/5): - Great choice for a quick night stop. Clean, nice lobby, and staff was already up taking care of the property. Very nice people working. Huge room and smelled so clean upon entering. Pet friendly. Family of four and two dogs slept peacefully
- Amy (6/5): - This property is run down.. Tim was working the desk and wreaked of alcohol not to mention he was extremely rude to one of my friends and my husband as we were attempting to check in. The rooms were ok and I was surprised the beds were some what comfortable.
- Mark (10/5): - its on my route and the good service ,reasonable rates fit me great.
- Mark (10/5): - it was clean, good stay thanks
- Marcia (4/5): - Bedspread had stains all over it. Floor sticky in bathroom. Deadbolt did not work.
- Mohammed (2/5): - Property falling in disrepair and in great need of a complete overhaul.
- barbara (2/5): - The room was ok but the property outside so dirty, ugly, and uncared for, we elected not to stay. No hair dryer available, even at the desk.
- Whitney (2/5): - Horrible- tones of crickets in the room. Also flies. Husband found a roach as we where leaving. NEVER stay here
- Heath (2/5): - DON’T FALL FOR THE PRICES OR DESCRIPTION!!
The staff was friendly and the lobby welcoming. The rooms however hadn’t been prepared and still looked like the last guests had just left. The second room had dead insects everywhere and hadn’t been vacuumed in who knows how long. The room had clearly been smoked in and the entire property looked like the kind of place you either get killed in…or is used for 1 hr. guests (if you catch my drift).
I’d been drawn in by the price, but…there was a reason the prices were so low. I asked for a refund since the rooms were unacceptable and the whole place overbooked (no idea how THAT could happen). I was again attended by a very kind staff member who apologized and readily refunded me.
We got another room at a nearby hotel and stayed there.
- Henry (4/5): - Do yourself a favor and don't stop here. This was definitely the sketchiest hotel I've stayed in. We were hard pressed to find a window that wasn't broken, and the staff was not very friendly/welcoming. There was a bunch of random stuff in the dressers such as a condom. Would highly recommend to drive the extra distance to stay somewhere that feels safer and has more food options than 4 fast food places.
- Solveig (8/5): No breakfast - Hotels.com said there was breakfast included but there was not as it is under renovation.
- Michael (8/5): Ok - Had everything you need. Reasonably priced
- LaCresha (2/5): - I was not able to check in at all and still have not recieved a complete refund. I was caught in a bad storm and couldnt get to check in til midn8ght and office was closed, had to spend more money for another room
- Verified traveler (6/5): Mixed Feelings - The room was dirty and the door had a gap under it where dust blew in when it was windy. There was only one set of towels for the two of us. The people were extremely nice and the bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Kicked out - It was not good we got kicked out because of a miss understanding
- Maureen B (10/5): A Low-Key Prairie Gem - This motel was exceptionally clean. The manager/man at the motel was one of the most courteous and helpful person I have ever encountered behind a motel or hotel desk. This was even though I arrived late and felt very tired and bedraggled. He instantly relaxed me because of his service-oriented and kind demeanor. He quickly supplied me with a room and all pertinent information I needed there and also answered my questions about Burlington which I had. Without a doubt I would stay at the Burlington Inn again. It’s a no frills motel, but I was pleased with my stay there and I felt well-cared for by the person on duty. Coffee in the room was excellent too. A
- Fredonna (8/5): So comfortable! - This room looked newly renovated, which was a pleasant surprise given the very plain, older exterior of the building. The room was clean and super comfy. The staff were very friendly and pleasant to interact with.
- Sondra (8/5): Don’t judge a book by its cover - Older motel. The outside is kinda run down, however, the room was clean. We were just there to sleep. It was wonderful
- Tom (8/5): - Pet friendly and plenty of space in the rooms.
- Jennifer (4/5): - Shower fell apart
- kathleen (10/5): - easy on and off access to freeway; well priced but restaurant was closed down and no continental breakfast as posted. Nice and clean but fan on heater was realllllyyyy loud making sleeping difficult. Easy check in too.
- Nathan (8/5): Decent value for the money - Very convenient location right off the freeway. Kind of run down but didn't expect a Hilton. A few flies in the room but overall ok.
- Curt (6/5): One night stay - Was clean older type place
Was comfortable clean
For one night stop price was good
Nothing fancy about room
Looks they have made updates and/or working on updating
- Linda (6/5): No frills is accurate - It was OK- it is in a bleak, industrial looking area. Wi-fi was choppy, intermittent service. They do answer the phone at the front desk promptly, which is reassuring.
- Heather (6/5): - Well, I didn’t actually think it was an open and running hotel when I drove up - it really looked abandoned. And then I realized I reserved a non-refundable
- Verified traveler (10/5): - good for the price.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - what I liked the most is how quiet that area is. thanks
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Okay
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean and convenient
- Ron (8/5): It is what is! - The place was perfect for the cost; clean, a/c worked, and cheap! I would stay again.
- jennifer (10/5): Will definitely return - Obviously in the process of remodeling. Room was great and clean. Dont let the exterior fool you. Great deal.
- Foster (10/5): - Nice big rooms for the price, dont let the outside of the building put you off, it was alot nicer on the inside.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved everything about the room except the shower it was gorgous and worked great but the floor of the tub was super slick and there were no shelves to set soaps etc. on and no grab bars to keep you from falling. Wished restaurant and bar were still open as they along with the lobby looked amazing. The whole place was very clean and quiet Rooms were huge. Staff were great.Fast food is within walking distance.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Dead bugs and old toenails were on the floor in the room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice and quiet
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Rooms look nice on inside despite exterior appearance. You get what you pay for. Staff was very friendly and accommodating
- Jenny (8/5): - Older hotel - had me worried, but it was the best we had slept all week! comfy pillows and mattress. There were a few flies in the room we had to deal with but otherwise great.
- David (8/5): Part of a longer family trip - Looks rough on the outside but the rooms are much nicer on the inside. It was a clean and reasonably quiet (it was July 3rd so there were lots of fireworks in the area) one-night stay.
- Colin (2/5): Dont stay here - Missing ceiling tiles at entry, advertise breakfast buffet and didnt have it "due to covid". Window in room was filthy and you couldnt see clearly out of it. Floors were dirty. Bathroom door had to be forced to shut, counter person looked fresh out of prison. Owner or manager kept his BMW parked in the entry drive. Could not give a receipt upon check out plus they charged a $250 deposit on a $65. We didnt expect much from an inexpensive room but they couldnt have had the bar set any lower.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good
- Duane (8/5): Good room for the price - Looks like they are remodeling and doing a good job. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Pillows were t great. TV remote didn’t work and cable tv was very static. It rained and water came in through the bottom of the door. But over all for the price it was a great value.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Lots of flies for some reason thank goodness we were were just passing by.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Appearances are not everything.
The glass door to the lobby was shattered at the bottom. The bar and restaurant were closed off, but maybe that was COVID.
I couldn't get an upper room, despite having requested one: the Entire upper floor was Closed Off, but there was No indication At Booking that the upstairs was Closed to business.
I asked the property owner for an upstairs room, but she said that the floor was closed because "ground floor is easier." I did not appreciate the intentional inconvenience to a paying customer.
She was very nice, though.
The parking lot was unkempt and decrepit.
At the room, the screws on the door knob pressure plate, and on the dead bolt, all protruded, causing the door to stick.
...but all the locks did work, if one pulled and pushed on the door properly from the inside.
No peephole, and a napkin was stuffed inside.
The surprise was the Great Cleanliness of the room.
We could smell the bleach and something like "Comet" as soon as we opened the door.
The sparkling nature of the room itself was a stark contrast to the run-down outer appearance of the overall building.
Also, the hotel is close to I-70, but far enough away to cut out most road noise for the night. The hotel is only a half-block away from the overpass, and that little rise was even enough to block most of the trucker noise.
If one decides to stay at Burlington Inn, I would advise Not to let the outer appearance frighten you away.
The ROOM was clean, sizeable, and quiet.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The inside was well maintained, presentable, and clean very nice rooms
- Joni (6/5): - Lots of flying bugs in the room. The door required brut force to open and close.
- Kolby (4/5): Ehh - If you are not turned off by the ghetto vibe this place gives you, then you will be fine. This place is old but you can tell the owners are trying. The room was ok.
- dawn (2/5): - The guy would not give us a room. Still waiting for my money back. Worst experience.
- Holliegh (10/5): Cute quiet room! - We enjoyed our stay: 10/10 would stay again!! The sheets were so soft and the bed was comfy! The area was quiet. And only 5 mins from restaurants and town. The owners were super nice and friendly! Only complaint was that the bathroom door would get kinda stuck and bathroom light would occasionally flicker.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good for the one night - Large room, easy parking for truck towing another vehicle. Wish refrigerator had been plugged in so it could be utilized. Room looked nothing like the picture which gives impression of being updated, but not so. Hair in sink. Beds not comfortable.
- John (6/5): OK - We have stayed here before while pheasant hunting and it was decent enough, and inexpensive. This time, there was no breakfast (due to COVID presumably). The room we were given had an overpowering lemon scent, presumably because of overcleaning from other dogs. There were 2 light bulbs missing out of the 4 lights in the room. Not sure if we'll stay here again.
- Antonio (6/5): Road trip stay.... - For an overnight stay it was bearable.
Check-in was ok. But what wasn't ok was walking into a cold room. The temperature in the room was almost unbarable. When i found out how to turn the heat on it was part of the "window shaker" and was LOUD. If i wasn't so tired it probably would've kept me up.
Water pressure was barely there.
Just stayed there for a few hours to get some rest during my road trip...I'll be sure not to go there again.
- Tim (8/5): - Great price. Simple but extremely clean, functional and roomy. Heater worked perfectly, kept room at good temp and wasn't noisy.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Comfortable, nothing flashy, but suited our needs.
- Roxanne (2/5): - After hours bell doesnt work. Called 3 times finally get ahold of someone & they had attitude. Get to the room it needs to be renovated. Toilet isnt attached to the floor. Also had flies in the room.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The property was an eye sore and our room was filled with 6 flies, 2 beetles, and 2 house centipedes. Spent my first hour on pest control
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Room was nice and easy to access from parking lot. Bed was comfortable but parking lot needs work
- Valentina (2/5): - I knew the minute we saw the parking lot I wasn’t going to stay there.
- Claudia (10/5): - So convenient if you’re planning on riding the Royal Gorge Railway train and within easy walking distance to all the offerings in the Historic district in Cañon City.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Don’t stay here! There were so many bugs. We killed at least 10-15 in the room. We left after 30 minutes. We went down the street instead.
- Thyra (4/5): Eww - Not a good place to stay with family. Area was a little scary, room had faux wood floor instead of carpet and kids feet were black with filth from it. I had to scrub them before I could put them to bed.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - fast/efficient staff. professional/polite... very pleased !!!
- ManyTravels (10/5): - Unplanned stop in Burlington, CO for the night due to bad weather. Management was friendly and helpful when we arrived. The room was recently remodeled and had a really nice, large television, very comfortable bed, microwave, mini-fridge and simple table and chairs. The restroom and shower were clean and functional. This room was clean, comfortable and quiet; a great value for the price. We would absolutely stay here again. Our only complaint was that the restaurant was closed for remodeling at the time because it smelled delicious in there!
- Rhonda (10/5): - This was a great motel. I’m not one to stay in a motel but this one changed my mind.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It may have been an older property but was updated nicely. The beds were queen with memory fom , comfortable. The room was huge, and the bathroom had nice updated tile. For the price it was nice. It still had the old door with key lock but it worked so no complaints here.
- John (8/5): Good stay - Nice spacious rooms with relatively new memory foam beds. Main hotel area was rough. Breakfast was ok with waffles and cereal. Fast Food and gas close
- Stan (2/5): Website not accurate - Booked through Hotels.com. I put the ages of my kids in. It was a late checkin. I arrived and they charged an additional 10 per kid. Would not let me check in until that was paid. Hotels.com would not let me back out and cancel due to the time of arrival. Forced to pay it
- RC (4/5): - They put a fly swagger in the room for a very good reason!
I think we killed 20
