Guest Reviews
- Maria (10/5): - Great service
- Fernando (8/5): - Over-all it was nice pool was clean room where nice beds were comfortable
- Maria (8/5): - For 1 night it was okay
The only Disappointment on the swimming pool it didn't look like it was maintenance on it To be 200 + for one night no ice etc....
But love the service
- Juan (2/5): - The pool wasn’t clean was a light green had a lot of chlorine in the water the ice machine didn’t work so if you wanted ice go buy it at the store I reserved a king size bed they gave me a room with two beds was told they were booked the air conditioner didn’t work in the room so they finally gave me a king size bed will never stay there again
- Cathey (2/5): - Very disappointing when I called to ask about their pool, was told they had one. However after I arrived driving 8 hrs to get there to only find out the pool was not in service, ice machine was broken & I had been double charged for my stay. Problem has still not been resolved after speaking with 3 different staff members.
- Jered (4/5): - There was no A/C in our first room or the one we were they moved us moved to. There was a frdge full of spoiled food, and we had to clean it out ourselves. We had to transfer rooms twice. We finally had A/C in the last room but the water never got hot for our showers. Definitely not quality for the insane price. Very disappointed. The staff didnt seem to know much about the place either.
- Liz (8/5): - Our stay was very good. I especcially want to commend the front desk. We had a couple of unusual requests and he came through with flyong colors! We'll never stay any place else!!
- Isaac (6/5): - Was expensive but not value for money. It is functional for a short one night stay at best. They don't even have Coffee in the Lobby for morning times. Basic amenities in room are updated and functional. Had Bedsheets with holes and looked yellowish. Front desk staff don't have to behave like they are doing Guests a favor. Be courteous please. High demand for rooms doesn't mean you cant care about your guests.
- Brigitte (4/5): - The front desk attendant was courteous and the property appeared nice and clean. However, the air conditioning in our room DID NOT WORK!! It was hot in our room. We were in town to attend a funeral and other family members also rented rooms at the Texan Inn and also had the same problem. I had to go to the Walmart across the street and buy fans to make it more bearable in our room. To top things off, the ice machine was broken as well! Very disappointing for a place that charges $200 a night!!
- Nigel (4/5): Average and Very Pricey - The room smoke detector beeping all night.
No TV sound kept cutting out had to keep restarting the TV
- Refugio (10/5): Will stay again - It was nice and clean!!
- Richard (10/5): - Friendly and courteous attendant!! Made check in very easy.
- Richard (10/5): - Quiet spot clean room, close to a Walmart and 3 different restaurants.
- Paul (8/5): - Definitely worth the price. Other hotels in the area over priced.
- Alan (8/5): - Room and services were good. Shower was very slippery.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - When I went to sign in, they couldn’t find a reservation under my name?? Luckily they did find a room for me.
- Danielle (8/5): - Great remodel
- Verified traveler (6/5): - There wasn’t any soap in the room. The lobby was under heavy construction. Nothing to eat.
- Pam (4/5): - Property looked clean and tidy. Room was not as clean as we would have liked. Toilet wabbled. Toilet would not flush. Due to party cups and condom in toilet tank. Dirty hand prints on walls. Bath tub cracked. Room was musty smelling and dusty
Thank God the beds were clean and tidy.
- Richard (6/5): Disappointed - Why would a non-smoking room come with an ash tray. Been years since I seen that. Dryer was broken. Last time I stayed here no breakfast the person was missing and no backup. Looks like the breakfast has gone down hill. Corn flakes, waffles, juice, coffee. Used to be way better. Disappointed.
- Rosa (10/5): - I always stay here, newly renovated rooms look great. Staff was very helpful.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - They tried to charge more than agreed price. I was lucky I remember approximate value. Working fridge was great.
- Richard465679 (10/5): Perfect place - We were really happy and pleased with the stay. clean pool. good breakfast. Close to Walmart. Really good compared to other hotels. Staff was really friendly, they helped us with everything we needed.
- Expat_dd (10/5): Budget Friendly with a pool - This is a great budget deal for an oil field town. It is right next to Walmart and has a nice swimming pool. The room was very clean with a fridge. The staff was very helpful in suggesting places to eat around town.
- Alicia (2/5): hot in carrizos !!! - The air conditioner did not work, the refrigerator did not work, the lamps did not work, the T V did not work. It was 10 p.m. so we had no choice but to stay there in a hot room. The milk we purchased for our morning coffee and cereal was no good since the fridge didn't work. We didn't realize that till 9 a.m. the next day. We will not stay at all next time.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The place is ok, but seems a bit dirty on the out side.
Breezeway was dirty, trash, and dark. The lights were turned on eventually. I was totally disappointed that the swimming pool was out of order.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I was real please on the convenience of the property. Thanks
- Rick (6/5): - The room didn't smell very good. The mirror in the bathroom had a big crack in it. The bathroom was not very clean. Human hair in places and just not cleaned to a quality sanitary level.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good visit. Comfortable beds
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very clean and quiet atmosphere. Great communication with the staff.
- Charles (10/5): Clean, secure, and comfortable - The hotel is clean and comfortable. The room has a comfortable bed, I was able to work using the WiFi, the bathroom was well stocked and clean. The outside doors have three factor locks and the courtyard appeared clean available. There is a reasonably good steakhouse 50 feet away and a pretty good local Texmex place within walking distance as well.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Check in was quick, nice and clean rooms. I always stay at this hotel
- Adam (10/5): - The room is huge and the refrigerator is a plus. We love those extra mirrors in the room.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Bathroom sink was stopped up. Mold around bathtub. Bed was very uncomfortable.
- Helene (6/5): Nice hotel for the price - Hotel was acceptable for the cost. Staff is friendly and rooms clean.
- R (4/5): - Front desk staff was very nice and helpful. Cant say anything else about the room and service.
- Jesus R (6/5): Enough to get by for the night. - We needed a room at last minute due to car trouble. Room was fair but needed some attention. Carpet is pretty stained, room needs good deodorizer. Having family memebers work in the oilfield we realize that much of the hotel's business is that industry, but still, the hotel can do a better job.
- Wesley (8/5): Good place - would recommend - This was a very nice place. We were just passing through, so we had only one night. The only
drawback to this hotel was the breakfast was a little weak. They did have bread/toaster, waffles, cream cheese, coffee and??? Maybe a piece of fruit would have been nice, a yogurt or an egg - exceptional.
- Acmeflower (6/5): Basic. Has some deficits - We were just passing thru on a trip from Mexico. It was a reasonable price and directly in the road we were taking. I do lots of reviews for trip advisor and I try to be factual, sincere and polite. I realize every place is different. The front desk man was very kind and helpful with restaurant suggestions. The hotel is located next to Walmart. The room has a dorm sized refrigerator which I find helpful, a microwave and a coffee pot. A modest breakfast is served in the lobby starting at 0600. The hot water is plentiful and pressure good. The king bed was comfy but the 4 pillows were small like throw pillows for a couch and I did not think them comfortable. The WiFi was good in the room. The AC good. Would I stay here again. Probably no. The carpets were stained and I mean really filthy in numerous places. Several areas of the walls were dirty like a mechanic greasy hands had touched there. One of the folded wash cloths looked dirty. The smoke detector was missing. The freezer in the refrigerator needed to be defrosted. A drawer in the dresser had a shirt and 2 pairs of shorts, which were not ours. I informed the front desk at check out. So there is room for improvement
- Verified traveler (6/5): Competitive price, clean facility, as expected. - Competitive price, clean facility, as expected for the price. Thanks!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Friendly staff - For the price was a good place to stay. Bathroom was just redone and is really nice. Friendly staff for anything we needed.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Didn't stay there,was still charge.Due to weather.
- Amber (6/5): Fair hotel close to shopping and food - Room is very spacious but very outdated and needs to be recarpeted.
- jeffrey (4/5): Not overly impressed - Friendly staff but cleanliness had a lot to be desired. Motel really needs a lot of freshing up especially for its location. Hey what do you expect for $65 bucks
- Verified traveler (10/5): Work - The Young man at the front desk is courteous and customer service oriented. I stayed here many times due to work and never ever a filthy room or any other problems.
- bill (8/5): 1 night - Clean with breakfast, mostly oil workers. next tp walmart and a steakhouse, convenient
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Bed wasn't too comfortable. Staff was really nice, room was a bit small and carpets were all stained. Didn't have a coffee pot like said. Room had an odor to it
- Jon (8/5): Clean and Inexpensive - Spacious room with amenities. Bed is slightly more firm than I am used to but the price is right.
- James (2/5): Fire Hazard - completely horrible. the parking is tight and very lacking. the room seemed clean, the tv was fuzzy even though it was digital cable. they say they have internet but it doesn't work. the microwave caught fire when I tried to use it as well as the blow dryer. I will never stay there again.
- Raquel (10/5): AWESOME SERVICE!! - Very friendly and a very comfortable stay thank you!!
- GeorgeM2070 (2/5): Stay at Texan Inn - This place stinks as in it's not a good place to stay at all. The rooms are dirty and the service is very terrible. I come to Carrizo Springs very often and stayed here all the time but the place has been run down under this new management. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL WE STAY HERE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Super
- Kiko (10/5): Value for your money - Nice room, modern very clean , value for your money. Near shopping areas.
- Richard (8/5): texas inn 5-11-17 - no.
- maryrN5892SI (4/5): Not so good - The man at the desk was very nice , but the place gave me the creeps. The lobby had no air conditioning but that's ok cause I wasn't in the lobby to long. The air conditioner in my room worked pretty good once it got rolling.
- J453ORluisg (10/5): Awesome - Stayed here for family reunion. Staff was friendly helped us with everything. Room was very clean. They have everything we need. A pool, barbecue pit and awesome location. Looking forward to stay here again next year.
- caraw435 (8/5): Great customer service - We like staying here! Just wish they would put the air on before we get there!
It takes a long time for room to cool down.....please turn air on at least 3 hours before check in.....we always make reservations!
- normaj_13 (10/5): Still the only hotels in town with free dinner!! - This little town is hopping with oil/gas business, and a lot of hotels have popped up in the past few months, but the Texan Inn still continues to be the best value in regards to service, amenities, location AND they are still the only place in town that serves free breakfast and Free Dinner!!
- cowboy1265 (10/5): Hotel has true meaning of name - I work in the oilfield and stay here, I enjoy stay here, when away from home. The front desk staff is very friendly always the breakfast is plentiful When asking the staff for towels or such they ensure things are brought to my room, the staff are vitreous respectful will recommend this inn to others.
- 551BeckyS (6/5): Oil field family friendly - I was really surprised when I made reservations to stay here while visiting my husband that works on a oil rig and was given a discount. That has never happened before at any hotel/motel. It was enough to take care of the daily pet deposit. That was great! The room was very clean and nice. AC, alarm clock, frig, and microwave all work great. The phones worked after I had move the base unit to to desk and plugged it in. A few things I found very annoying was I could only get wi-fi while sitting at the desk and that was not all the time, very few open plug ins (bring an extension cord, I always do because I've had thing problem in other hotel/motels), and my iPhone would not receive called or texts while in the room???? I come here to spend time with my husban that stays on these rigs for months at a time so I have stayed a lot of motels/hotel. This one had very nice staff and they did offer to let me switch room because of the Internet thing but I decided to stay where I was, out of well laziness I didn't want to most my stuff for my 3 day visit and the sm. dog I had brought. Located across from Walmart if you forget something it's not out of the way to replace it. I will probably stay here again if the need arises, I will just ask for a room near the lobby so I can actually get the high speed Internet they have.
- AngelaP956 (4/5): Very disappointed - My family reunion is being held in Carrizo as it has been for the past 30 years, I understand to a point about the prices(since they found oil here), but no group discounts, they do not honor military discounts either, but when there is something wrong with the room and i paid cash for three days..with the intent of staying here longer if we wanted to stay in town longer...No manager around...I had to go to desk the next day to remind them of broken fridge...still nothing from manager..When i finally reminded staff manager was called and said they send me a check for ten percent off my first night..at 135.00 plus tax are you kidding me..the food that was destroyed cost more than 13.50..meanwhile i have multiple parties in my family staying here..never again..next reunion or any other...
- missyvelvet (10/5): Excellent accomadations - We were leary about this motel after reading the" June 09 " review. However, we were very surprised and happy with the staff, condtion of our room, breakfast area and quietness of this motel. Everything was spotless in our room which was large and held king bed. The front desk staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful.
- zappelle (4/5): BEWARE! Don,t be fooled by new building and high price tag - We came to town for a wedding and called ahead to tell them we would be late getting in and when we did get there the room was very hot and had several flies. The carpet was stained in many areas and the mirror on the closet was broken. The size was the only good thing I can say....the water pressure was ok but not great, the bed was hard and the pillows had to be very cheap or had at best seen better days, the a/c could not keep up with the 105 degree heat we had during the day and only cooled off after 10pm, the pool had only one lounge chair and no cover and the tables and chairs would burn you to the touch, the frame was still standing from what had been a shade area, the fire alarm went off during the middle of the night on our second night...guest were coming out of their rooms and looking around for an employee...we never found one and finally the local law enforcement came and turned the alarm off and said it had been doing that lately, and finally last but not least if you visit here and plan on using the pool be aware that the manager rents the pool out to the locals for pool parties and if you want to use the pool or grill the other guest are not the only ones you may have to share them with...we along with a few other guests were going to go swimming and use the grill but the area was packed with over 30 kids and adults and after the long stressful weekend and the severe heat we had hoped to cool off in the pool, grill a hamburger (we were tired of eating out and at the few choices this small town offers) and have a quiet rest before our return trip home over 6 hrs away. The management staff made sure that did not happen so we started home that night and made it to San Antonio, we stayed at the Comfort Suites Riverwalk, in a suite over looking the Tower of America and Riverwalk, a fitness center, pool, hot tub, putting green, iron and ironing board, refrigerator and microwave were not only in the room but beautifully hidden in cabinets, several computers with internet in the lobby and a hot breakfast were all included, and more important than that the staff went out of their way to make our stay wonderful and all for less than $25 a night more than the room at the Texas Inn. I know the choices in a small town are limited but if all you have to offer is a pool, let it be for the people who rent the room and not just the pool. I would have had no problem sharing with other guest the pool or the grill area but the way it was mixed, the one guest who was in the pool area was being told to get out by the staff after several other guests got upset as well and felt that the pool was not a private pool but a local public pool. I was not upset with the other guest as they had the same right as myself or any other guest and it was not the people who rented the pool as they should have just been told no and never charged, it was all the management being greedy. The room we got was a $59 room with a $96 pricetag and you do not get your money's worth. If the need arises to return to the area I will gladly drive from another town before I give this or it's sister facility in Crystal City any more of my money. I love to travel and I have never stayed in a place that as a GUEST made me feel so unwelcomed.
- butterbug (10/5): Home Away from Home - Well, I was very leary about the price of the motel, but I got what I paid for.
Although it was off to a rough start, our room was not ready when we got there, but I understand that it was a full house the night before, and people did not check out in a timely manner so the rooms could be cleaned. That is not the fault of the hotel.
The purpose of our stay was a family vacation and reunion, so we wanted to make sure that when we fell with exhaustion at the end of the day, we were comfortable.
Everything was great. The AC is cold, the pool is clean, the Bathrooms are awesome.. big tubs and good water pressure.
the frig is good and cold, the microwave was clean and like new.
The breakfast room has a very nice setting and is clean.
I had no complaints of this place.. in fact I didnt want to go home I was so comfortable...I was able to open my curtain and enjoy the nice ac and still watch my kids play out in the pool. they had a great time.
it was in a safe secure place, the people were friendly and the location is great.. especially when you are in the middle of nowhere. For those of you that have been to Asherton, or Carrizo Springs, you know its miles from city life. The Texan is next door to a wal-mart and a grocery store, there is a restraunt across the street but within walking distance. even with all these surroundings, it's still a nice quiet peaceful place to be.
very much enjoyed it.
