• Sylwia (9/5): Great to chill - Garden villa is big and bed very comfy. Breakfast was enjoyable. Hotel need some renovations, lots of mosaics titles missed in main pool area. The garden villa should be better cleaned, the areas like windows outside and inside, wood ornaments were very dusty. Would be nice to have a better garden around the villa so can sit there with coffee.

The swim up bar was terrific and very well priced. The property buildings are showing signs of age and lack of maintenance funding. However the room was lovely and the 2 restaurants were perfect.

However our room was comfortable and breakfast was really good with lots of options. On several occasions they forgot to clean our room, and we had to remind them. The resort would benefit from some more staff to help with maintenance. Gardens are unkempt except for the surrounding pool area. It would also benefit from extra staff serving around the pool area.

• Jason (10/5): A great place to stay, o enjoyed it immensely, rooms are great pool and staff , excellent, well worth it - The property is well spaced out yet easy to find your room, the pools and the surrounding areas we excellent, and my room was very spacious,clean,tidy, and very comfortable I liked everything about the property, the only thing is it could probably do with a coat of paint, just to freshen it up, The beach isn’t very nice due to plastic, but that’s not exactly a resort problem, it’s a Vietnam problem, but I would definitely come back to your resort, all your staff were excellent 😊

Tuuletin 33 asteen helteessä ei auta! Aivan kamalat 5 yötä. Olemme hikoilleet 4 yötä. Mainittiin 2 kertaa ja pyydettiin kauniisti, että voitteko korjata, mutta eivät korjanneet, joten päätimme olla vaan hiljaa.

• Joedy Thutrang (1/5): Worst hotel not what is advertised - Nothing I have checked into my reservation and I’m very disappointed on how the hotel has left this place. I booked for 3 nights and pay about $160 a night for luxury suite with balcony ocean view. Just for the room to look like it was being neglected for years. The coffee sink was dirt and has stains so thick. The balcony chairs were all torn up with blood stained. The floor has plenty of cracks through out the room. All the way up to the bathtub. The bathtub itself was disgustingly dirty. The welcome folded towel matches the color of the floor that hasn’t been mopped. The curtain has mold from the bottom to the top. I have never been so disappointed in a resort. The sofa next to the bed is very dirty and smells. The bathroom is disgusting. I paid for 3 nights but checked out the first hour of seeing the suite. This resort is not what is described or advertised. This is being dishonest at this point. They charged me for the night I didn’t even stay. It is not because I didn’t want to stay but the place isn’t hygienic to stay with the amount of mold in the room. I should’ve known from the moment I saw the resort front pond. One side has dirt water and the other side was all dry up. The front office was hot and with a funny smell, no AC. That probably was my sign to get out. I thought I still gave it a chance and see the suite, but i was wrong. They probably gonna reply with some kind of booshit/explaination/excuses back on this review.
• Filip (2/5): About to collapse - Nic Przestrzegam każdego, kto zamierza skorzystać z tego obiektu. Hotel wygląda jakby był na skraju upadłości. Zdjęcia z oferty nie mają nic wspólnego z rzeczywistością. Są to pewnie zdjęcia z otwarcia hotelu i może wówczas było naprawdę dobrze. Na dziś jest katastrofa. Brud, syf i malaria. Na śniadaniu jest zrobiona wystawa z pieczywa, która jest dekoracją pokrytą pleśnią. Cały obiekt wygląda jakby nie był w ogóle utrzymywany przez ostatnie lata. SPA i siłownia - sądzę że w strefach wojny są w lepszym stanie. Stanowczo odradzam pobyt w tym miejscu dopóki nie przeprowadzą generalnego remontu. Na poparcie wrzucam zdjęcia z tego 5* hotelu. Mam ich z 30 ale mogę wrzucić 4.

• Ross (1/5): Sold as 5*, lucky if it is reflective of 2* - We have to say overall we were extremely disappointed with our stay at the shells. We originally booked for 4 nights, but left after just one. The hotel itself had a lot of promise, but it seems to have been left to rot, with years of wear and tear. The room itself had a number of bugs and lizards in it when we arrived. The bathroom also had black mold, with many in room amenities not working. The atmosphere in the hotel was like a ghost town, with very little sign of life. All things considered, we were sold a “5* retreat, which in reality, was more like a 2* experience.

• Vicki (9/5): Lovely resort with great potential as more is invested in maintenance and refurbishment. - Lovely resort and setup. Buffet breakfast was great. No walkable restaurants nearby so had to travel by Grab for food as restaurant offerings were limited. Beach was picturesque but unfortunately there was often plastic bags and other rubbish in the water. Pools were great. Staff were brilliant.We loved our time at the resort. We had a family group and stayed in the poolside villas. More Vietnamese food in the restaurant. The resort is looking a bit tired but it seems some refurbishment has commenced. This is understandable after such a long closure over the Covid period. Great to see business still keeping going. The resort has great potential
• ANITA (7/5): Beautiful Villas, Peaceful Stay… Just Missing a Bit of Life - The villas are honestly the highlight. Very spacious, clean, and well designed. Proper blackout curtains, a really comfortable bed, strong air con, double sinks, separate toilet and shower. The terrace is also a nice touch, and because of all the greenery around our villa, it felt properly private (not all of them were the same). The grounds are big and really well kept — great if you want to go for a morning run or just walk around. Two pools: a quieter one near the villas and a beachfront pool with a bar. Plenty of sunbeds and towels. There’s a small gym — nothing special, but enough for a short stay — and a spa which we didn’t get around to trying. Buggy service is useful given how spread out everything is. It works well overall, just not always the quickest. Breakfast is very good. There’s pretty much everything — hot dishes, eggs, pancakes, fruit, pastries, breads, yoghurt, juices, coffee. You won’t struggle to find something you like. The restaurant also has a decent mix of Western and Vietnamese dishes for lunch and dinner. None of these ruined the stay, but they’re worth knowing. Getting through to reception can be a bit hit and miss. Sometimes no answer, or it just takes longer than it should — especially if you’re calling for a buggy. English is quite limited with a lot of the staff, so you end up using a translation app quite a bit. It’s manageable, just not ideal. The main thing missing is atmosphere in the evenings. It’s very quiet — no music, no entertainment — which you feel more because the resort is quite remote (about 2 km from the nearest supermarket). Even something simple like live music would make a difference. Also, there’s no small shop on site, which would really help for basics like water or snacks or ice cream. It would also be useful if the hotel provided a simple guide with things to do and places to visit nearby, as it’s not that easy to get information otherwise. Lastly, a shuttle to the night market would be a great addition — at the moment you need to rely on taxis.

But requires a lot of cleaning, seam like it never seen good clean, toilet didn't work, even reported twice to reception, until demanded to come and fix it. Location itself is good as described.

Guests using pool with clothes wearing Tshirts , it’s must be restricted 🚫 to use swimming pool 🏊‍♀️ with your sweaty tshirts , mostly I believe Indians who just come to take pictures with clothes in swimming pool 😂. Come on this is not India must remember and fill the country rules .

• Koh (4/5): disappointing due to the cleanliness and being charged due to the slippers - They have buggy services to our rooms, makes it more convenient and the staff are friendly, very responsive concierge team The gym is not maintained properly, every machine was not in working condition. The balcony was full of bugs at night, full of cockroaches. When we checked out, the staff told us there is 1 missing slipper and wanted to charge us for it, in the end they found it but in the first place shouldn't they be replacing the slippers after every guest use it? and charging for it does not make any sense at all.

THERE IS NO MANAGER WHO IS ACCOUNTABLE….. BAD UNRULY UNTRAINED STAFF WITH ZERO RESPECT FOR GUESTS. THEY ARE ONLY INTERESTED IN AVOIDING GUESTS AND NOT PROVIDING ANY SERVICE WHATSOEVER…. EVEN THE MANAGER DOES NOT HAVE DECENCY TO ATTEND TO GUEST COMPLAINTS……ROOM WAS NOT READY ON DAY OF CHECKIN. THERE WERE NO BASIC PROVISIONS OF CLEAN TOWELS OR SHAMPOO OR SOAP EVEN ASKING SO MANY TIMES…..THEY DONT PROVIDE SUFFICIENT WATER……THEY CHARGE A BOMB AND YHE LOCATION IS IN A GOD FORSAKEN PLACE. AN ACCESS TO MAIN ROAD IS 1.5 kms WALK FOR ANY BASIC STUFF. BREAKFAST SPREAD IS OK AS LONG AS IT DOES NOT GET OVER….. THEY CHARGE ADDITIONAL FOR PROVIDING SIMPLE PLATES OR SILVER IN THE ROOM. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. BOOKING SHOULD BAN THEM FOR EVER TO NOT HURT THEIR OWN REPUTATION AND THEY ARE NOT CHEAP BY ANY MEANS. INFACT THEY ARE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN MUCH NICER HOTELS IN DOWNTOWN. A LA CARTE FOOD IS BELOW STANDARD AND HARDLY EATABLE. PLACE FILLED WITH MOSQUITOES ALL THE TIME.

• Traveler43266582942 (6/5): The Shells Review - The Shells in Phu Quoc is not a very appealing hotel. It’s located far from the city, so getting around can be expensive due to taxi costs. While the rooms are spacious, the layout is inconvenient—the bathroom and toilet are separate, with no proper changing area. The property has plenty of trees and grassy spaces, but this also makes it feel a bit uncomfortable due to insects. Nights are not very peaceful either, with lizards being quite common. The staff, especially at reception, are not particularly friendly. The only highlights are the breakfast menu and the fish display at the entrance.
• Monika (6/5): Lekalzacyjnie było ok - pod względem ceny do jakości już nie. - Śniadanie miało urozmaicone, niby był wybór, a jednak nie było co wybrać. Basen był bardzo fajny, duży, czysty i z przyjemną wodą. Bardzo dobre jedzenie w restauracji i w bardzo dobrej cenie. Personel bardzo uprzejmy i pomocny. Czystość w pokoju - pleśń na fugach, brudne firanki i w ogólne nie umyte szyby (te w oknach i te na tarasie). Brudna podłoga - pomimo codziennego sprzątania. Hotel stary i zaniedbany - leżaki połamane, poduszki dziurawe, materace na leżakach brudne, krzesła przy basenie porozrywane (niewielkim kosztem można by to było naprawić i poprawić efekt wizualny).

• Clint (7/5): Dated, but a good hotel - Staff are very helpful and a special mention to Hai at the pool bar, quality bartender and mixologist. The hotel has real potential, but unfortunately has been let go in the maintenance department for the upkeep of parts of the building which makes it look a bit dated. Other than that it is an ok place to stay, pending some major upkeep this hotel has the potential and setting of being a fantastic place to stay.
• Nadine (7/5): - Das Zimmer mit Meerblick war wirklich toll. Der Strand ist wirklich kaum vorhanden. Die Liegen stehen auf dem Gras oben. Das Essen war auch nicht besonders und die Wartezeit ewig. Und ohne Grab kommt man nirgendwo hin. Es liegt wirklich sehr weit draußen.

• Claudia (6/5): Für Vietnam Standard okay, aber wir kommen nicht wieder - Die Lage am kleinen Strand war wirklich wunderbar ansonsten muss man immer eine Weile fahren, was aber völlig okay ist. Das Zimmer war groß, genauso wie der Pool. Das Personal konnte nicht gut Englisch. Dadurch wurde öfter Essen falsch geliefert. Das Personal könnte auch öfter auf den Gast zugehen. Lange wurde nichts abgeräumt. Es war nicht immer so gesäubert, wie wir uns das vorgestellt hatten, Handtücher hätten mehr sein können. Zwei Handtücher für vier Personen war etwas wenig.
• Daniel (8/5): Resort très agréable et calme. - L'ensemble est très bien même si on peut voir que l'établissement vieillit mais à part le SPA où il n'y avait qu'une seule personne disponible et la qualité du massage était moyen sinon le reste était très bien, surtout le personnel qui est vraiment top. Merci à eux pour leur gentillesse et leur sens du service. Rien.
• Jean-Pierre (10/5): - Tout est parfait, calme, propre, en plus les petits pavillons sont jolis et l'ensemble est harmonieux. Petite remarques pour l'hôtel, changer les panneaux :" ne pas déranger " qui s'envolent avec le vent, et du coup le ménage n'est pas fait. Mettre une machine expresso au petit déjeuner.
• Tim (8/5): Paradiesisches und tolles Resort, nur etwas in die Jahre gekommen ist. - Die Auswahl des Frühstücks ist riesig und extrem lecker Die Mitarbeiter sind alle super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Resort ist super ruhig gelegen und der privat Beach ist echt Mega. Es gibt zudem eine Poolbar und ein leckeres Hotelrestaurant, wenn man mal keine Lust hat auswärts essen zu gehen. Das Hotel und die gesamte Anlage wirken echt paradiesisch, aber sind leider schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Die Instandhaltung von einzelnen Dingen wird leider etwas vernachlässigt, aber das ist Kritik auf hohem Niveau. Nichtsdestotrotz ist es super schön dort und wer Entspannung sucht ist dort definitiv richtig!

• Thalia Rosier (9/5): Petit paradis - Plusieurs piscines. La plage privée est propre, les lieux sont propres. Le petit déjeuner est varié avec beaucoup de choix. Le personnel est aux petits soins. Lieux sécurisés, facilement accessibles via Grab, bon emplacement par rapport à la "grande" ville. Malgré que l'hôtel était complet, nous n'avons pas eu l'impression qu'il y avait beaucoup de vacanciers au vu de la taille du resort.

Lovely private beach and easy access to transportation to get around the island. Good buggy service across the facilities. Breakfast could get manic if you arrived at peak times with coffee cups, juice cups not being available. Wide range of food options.
• Nguyen (10/5): - almost everything. i didnt wanna leave. i will definitely come back. if i have to be picky, i didnt like the glass doors of the bathrooms. the glass type isnt the clear type so it makes the bathroom appear to be a bit dirty. also the lighting is romantic but for people that want to put on makeup like me, i had to turn on the flashlight from my phone LOL

• Bernard (7/5): 5 star hotel requires a lot of TLC. - The location is private. Design of the resort is pleasant. The room was large. Nice pools and plenty of sun loungers. Restaurant was reasonably priced. Fairly good breakfast choice. Free shuttle service to and from airport. A bit isolated. Taxis required to get everywhere. Have to agree with other reviewers, it is not a 5 star hotel now....maybe it was when it opened. It needs a lot of TLC! Many areas look old, some look dirty and rusted. The cushions on the capsule loungers by the pool were torn and grubby. Useless, very old toasters. Even on highest setting, toast wasn't brown after going through six times!

• mnmishr (8/5): A Good Beach Resort away from City Center - The resort was selected for Medical College Batch Reunion with friends and families. A total of 52 persons constituted the group. Accommodation was good, but in spite of a big group many of us could not get an early check in. We stayed in cottages and not in sea / pool facing rooms. Almost 10% of guests had issues with AC or locker. Although the hotel emphasizes use of green eco friendly measures by using linen for two days, sadly it is lacking in same because water is dispensed in plastics all over the place. The resort should order a RO water plant and offer water more generously. The Fitness Centre was not available on any of the three days that we stayed in the hotel. There are two pools. The main pool is very nice and the hotel has a small beach. The small bamboo path leading to the resort and the sunset view are great. Breakfast was excellent as was the food for parties. It will be worthwhile to have a multicuisine in the long run and provide bicycles to guests to explore Phu Quoc.

• Natália (4/5): Prvy dojem bol fajn, ale následná ochota manažéra a personálu otrasná - Výhľad na more, pekne okolie rezortu, vaňa, pohodlná posteľ, veľký výber raňajok Pleseň v sprchovom kúte, na stenách, čisté iba “na oko”, nabíjačky nenabijali, nedržali zastrcene v zastrčkach, neochota personálu. Na stene vedľa sprchové kúta, bolo zavesené veľké ťažké zrkadlo, ktoré sa posledný večer odtrhlo, spadlo a rozbilo a reálne mohlo niekoho z nás zabiť nakolko som stala asi pól metra od miesta kde spadlo. Personál a manažér recepcie to chceli hodiť na nás, že sme do toho buchli sprchovymi dverami (čo ani nebolo možné) a chceli od nás zrkadlo zaplatiť, s čím sme samozrejme nesúhlasili, keďže to vôbec nebolo našou vinou. Nakoniec sa ukázalo že aj zrkadlo na druhej strane je zle upevnené, jedna strana je celá povolená a hýbe sa, a bolo len otázkou času kedy by aj toto spadlo a rozbilo sa, presne tak isto ako zrkadlo v kúpeľni. Samozrejme nato, aby sme dokázali že to nebola naša vina sme museli nástojčit a doprosovať sa aby sa išli sami pozrieť na tu izbu že aj zrkadlo na opačnej strane je zle upevnené. Nakoniec nám dali za pravdu a samozrejme nám nič nedali zaplatiť, ale AROGANTNOSŤ MANAŽÉRA nemá hraníc. Na konci toho celého sme nedostali ani obyčajne ospravedlnenie za celú túto situáciu. Či už zato za to že zrkadlo mohlo niekoho zabiť alebo minimálne zraniť (a až vtedy by pochopili aký majú problém) alebo za ich obviňovanie a hádzanie viny na nás.

• Tan (8/5): Solid choice even if a bit dated. - Very helpful staff. Decent location as it's equal distance to the north and south parts of the island. Peaceful and lovely environment. Breakfast is pretty solid. Comfortable beds for a good rest. The pool area can have loud music that blasts through the day. If you're staying in the main building surrounding the pool it may be noisy. But staff are responsive and can adjust if you give them a ring. Rooms are equipped but can be old so make sure everything works when you get in. All minor niggles. Nice view but beach is small - not really what you're looking for if you go to Phu Quoc.

• Marie (10/5): Fabulous resort with excellent service - Incredibly nice hotel with private beach and great large villas, or room with seaview, dreamy sunset on a private beach, expansive swimming pools, a hearty breakfast buffet and super friendly staff ! What more could you ask from a resort ! Wonderful experience. It was one of the finest hotels I have traveled to. The hotel is located a little outside the city, but there is always available cheap taxi at the entrance. You get driven from the reception desk to the room with the electric buggy. Beautiful nature around. Hotel staff were all very kind and helpful. I would recommend this hotel with 100%.
