Guest Reviews
- Richard (5/5): Not for me. - I’m not going to write much , because I am led to believe that the current owner / manager is making improvements, so it wouldn’t be fair. Ear plugs and definitely eye mask required. This accommodation is geared up for contractors/ trades people.
- asawyer5016 (4/5): Staff very friendly but meal was poor - Ordered scampi which looked very nice when it arrived, however, disappointed to realise it was a manufactured whatever it was but I doubt whether it had ever seen scampi in it's life. Each piece reconstituted and reshaped to a perfect pencil like shape then breadcrumbed and fried. Never seen scampi like it in my life. Put me off going out for a meal to be honest.

- Pub1nspector (2/5): Pub Stinks! - The pub has a really strong unpleasant smell. It is like a dirty cellar or carpets that badly need a deep clean. It was noticeable as soon as we walked in and unfortunately didn’t improve.
The people were friendly enough and service was fine, but the smell meant we couldn’t stay for more than one pint, which is a shame.
I’m surprised more people haven’t mentioned it before. Perhaps everyone’s just being too polite.
Would we come back? Yes, absolutely if the smell is sorted, because otherwise it could be a decent pub.
- Carol (8/5): Very pleasant and comfortable - Very welcoming Stairs to rooms
- Simon (9/5): Rooms basic but very clean and comfortable, excellent value , food is good and well priced as drinks - I was working in Leeds but didn’t want to stay in the city centre it was about 10 mins away, the rooms are basic but totally adequate, staff are great, food is good and the prices in the bar are very good and there’s plenty of parking For the price I have absolutely no complaints

- Samantha (3/5): Needs an emergency out of hours contact number . To be shown how to open the door. Made more aware. - The staff are lovley and the rooms are clean the breakfast is good and location is spot on . I didn't like that I could not operate the outside door and it took me an hour and a half to get in . The pub is un manned and nobody answers the phone. A few people struggled to get in that night .
Please make sure you can open the door before you go out . When the pub shuts nobody will be there to assist you .
If you are a woman on your own this can be quite scary.
If in doubt please ask for an emergency contact number out of hours .
This would of helped massively

- Paul (9/5): - Great little pub. Accommodation is a little basic but comfortable & clean. The staff are great and the locals are very friendly. Enjoyed a great band in the pub on Sat night, which was a welcome bonus.
- Diana (4/5): Could do better - Location and friendly staff Couldn't get WiFi. Small TV high up, and remote did not work. All corners could do with a proper clean especially in the tiny toilet at the end of the corridor. Grubby paintwork, stained carpets at entrance and paper coming off the ceiling in my room.

- Samantha (10/5): - Loved it

- Kelly-AnneRose (7/5): Affordable and pleasant place but sign usage needed! - Easy to get to from train station, clean n staff are attentive! Good facilities in the room! I was shown where to get in after hours but I went to wrong door as I was rather drunk n was struggling for about 5 mins and was getting worried n then I stepped back from door n realised it was the wrong one but the correct door was still fidgety! This was early hrs n was trying not to disturb other guests but was annoyed that if I hadn't realised about other door I would've had to go back to my friends house for the night! Which was rather full so I'd be on the floor! I was told by the lady who served me breakfast that past guests have done exactly the same and stayed in their cars!
Please put a simple sign on the non guest door to say that it's the other door it's not very costly and would benefit everyone!
- Hafidh (8/5): - Good location close to train station and staff were helpful Part of pub
- X1230GPthomasm (10/5): Brilliant and so comfy and staff 👌👌👌👌👌👌 Breakfast every morning! Could not have found a better place, I’d come again. - I’ve just spent a week here at the miners arms and it was well comfortable loved it and staff all one in a million, I would definitely come here again and recommend it to anyone who is after a bed for the night and a breakfast in the morning and even maybe just a few days away

- Steven (9/5): Superb - Great pub staff were friendly beds were comfy
- Andrew (8/5): Good value comfortable accommodation. - Quiet hotel, comfortable bed, good breakfast. The external door to the accommodation sticks such that it appears that the key hasn't released the lock.
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional - Welcoming and friendly staff. Great food and a cozy stay
- Yaparova (10/5): Exceptional -
- Betty (10/5): Very happy - What a lovely atmosphere. The staff are lovely and accommodating and we had a lovely stay! There was a bit of noise at night due to it being a pub but nothing terrible
- Adrian (4/5): Business trip - Set in a good location.
Staff friendly.
Works well as a pub. Unable to provide VAT receipt for business expenses, so avoid if you need that.
2 complimentary bottles of water in room for guests is a nice touch, but 1 of them already half drunk is not.
No hot water to wash in morning.
No power to lights in room and bathroom for some time in morning, trying to wash with cold water in dark then all came on after I finished, not great.
Wanted to use a local business rather than a big chain, should have gone to chain.
Needs improving as a hotel.
- Grace (5/5): Passable -
- Heather (9/5): Great Staff, made me feel comfortable and good was amazing. - Amazing staff, lovely locals. Was working in the area and needed a room to stay in. Upon arrival, the ladies checked me in, showed me my room. Being on my own and a lady I wanted somewhere that felt safe and I chose the Miners Arms. Being downstairs to have my evening meal, the staff made me feel comfortable and the locals were very welcoming. Much appreciated as I was nervous staying on my own. On the whole it was a very pleasant stay. As most hotels I could hear doors banging, and disturbed my sleep. However, this couldn’t be avoided.

A short walk (albeit down 99 steps) behind the pub to the train station with regular trains to Leeds Centre. Ample secure car parking. Excellent cooked breakfast. Really friendly staff. The walk back up those 99 steps!
- Wren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simon (8/5): Good pub accommodation - Good value - Decent breakfast and good evening meal. Decent pub below the accommodation with Sky Sports. Stayed when visiting Elland Road for Leeds game and did the job.
- William (8/5): Overall good very attentive and helpful staff - We only stayed one night, on our arrival we were allowed to book in early the member of staff that met us was very efficient and very helpful, the night time staff were all extremely friendly and very helpful, we had a bar meal of pizza and it was very good, our sleep was good the bed was comfy, in the morning we were given breakfast that was all that we needed and again the staff were very helpful, if we were in the area again we would definitely stay here again. N/a
- Radebe67 (10/5): Little gem..great sraff - Great stay as always at the Miners. The staff are always very friendly and the food/drink choices are decent.
Rooms are clean and comfy. I must've had stayed over 20 times now and really enjoy staying here. It's not luxury but I'd definitely recommend it as a reasonable place to stay.
- Mudambanuki (1/5): I encountered a lot of problems and will never recommend anyone - The breakfast was okay and the location was good I was advised to use the fire door at the back and the door refused to open and ended up sleeping in my car in the car park. It was a very freezing night and can imagine that I managed to get into my room at 8 am for a shower and breakfast and then checked out. I struggled to drive as I was very sleepy. This is the west experience ever
- Stephen (9/5): good place to stay within close reach of Leeds - The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times The thing that would influence the booking would be if i was planning for an early night i would not book on Saturday as you can hear music until 23.00, but this can also be a positive if you want to join in
- Isabella (8/5): Very good - the breakfast was really good, and the staff were lovely
- Glenn (8/5): What was expected - Breakfast good n just enough. Heating turned off overnight
- Charles (4/5): Disappointed - No breakfast available until 8am. I had an early start, so no alternative offered.

- Andrew (9/5): I'd recommend - good clean and tidy nice bar reasonable prices good breakfast
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Protheroe (8/5): Very good - Very helpful and friendly staff - flexible on check-in and late return after a day out. Excellent freshly cooked breakfast. Easy transport links by bus nearby. Whilst it’s not the Ritz it’s fine for a basic overnight stop and excellent VFM.

- Melvyn (9/5): Good location, clean room, good cooked breakfast. - A safe quiet area, 10 minutes walk to 51 & 52 bus to Elland Road and City Centre. My single room was clean, comfortable and tidy and although shared loo and bathroom, never had to wait. Cooked Breakfast was very good. I arrived 11am, as the pub opened and was let into my room before the official check in time. Nothing springs to mind.
- Nicholas (8/5): Very good -
- Katie (2/5): Past its sell by date and definitely not with £100 per night. - The staff were lovely and the beer was nice Mattresses were very uncomfortable with springs digging in . The bathroom was terrible with spiders I’m it. The toilet was disgusting. The breakfast was poor
- Alan (8/5): Very good - Great food, homemade steak & ale pie was good. Very friendly staff. Good beer too. An old fashioned local pub. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Not luxury but good fun and a warm welcome.
- David (8/5): Very good value Great staff - Great helpful staff. Choice of breakfasts. The free bottled water was gratefully received The room wifi didnt really work
- Christopher (7/5): Good - Nice location & friendly staff, right next to the train station. Over priced, charging per person 100 pounds for 2 people for the 1 night is a bit excessive.
- Joanne (10/5): I stayed for Leeds pride and have stayed in this pub and accommodation many times before . Great beer, lovely room and f - Lgbt friendly staff and massive room with power shower and great beer and food Walk up a hill from Morley train station to the miners arms, massive amount of concrete steps

- Andrew (8/5): Good budget Inn - Food very reasonable, good for parking. Room comfortable. Shower a bit old and cramped
- Fergal (10/5): An owner who looks after people and their needs. Over and beyond - I had issues with my flights and stranded for nearly 2 days and let them know I was going to check in alot later when check in stops. So extremely accommodating and understanding. So welcoming and no rushing. Bottled water ready for me in the room as requested and breakfast was great. Also helped me on the morning with local taxi firms etc. Can't name anything wrong. Exactly what I needed
