• Larry (5/5): Way too expensive for what we got. - The night desk person was helpful when the TV in our 1st room wasn't working, quickly upgrading our room so that we could settle in for the night. Parking right near the entrance. Extremely expensive for what we experienced. The hallways were worn and dirty and there were no special amenities.

• Flora (1/5): Would never recommend. Inhabitable. - I arrived at the hotel and checked in. The smell of the room was awful & the room was filthy. There were stains on the sheets, stains on the blanket and the bathtub was completely stained and dirty. I can’t imagine stepping foot in the shower. I went to the front & got a new room. In this room, the main light didn’t work, the sheets and blankets were still dirty. There were cigarette burns in the blankets and the smell was just as bad! And the door didn’t fully close. I went to the front again & just checked out. These rooms are not suitable to stay in. They smell like smoke and must, and I have asthma so I couldn’t breathe well. I did not stay the night. I read a bunch of other reviews about the smell and figured, how bad can it be? Surely they would address some of the issues right? TRUST THE REVIEWS. The smell is horrid. The sheets and blankets are disgusting, and the lights don’t work.

Check in was easy and fast, all the staff was friendly, courteous and very helpful. Great location for moving a student into University at buffalo, close and convenient.

My room had cockroaches, they were scurrying around the room, on the walls and dropping into my refrigerator and on top of the microwave. Big ones too. Would not recommend getting a room by the end of the hall or a microwave as it seems they were all coming out at night from between the microwave and refrigerator.

• Eli (2/5): - Absolutely terrible experience at Motel 6 Amherst, NY. The photos speak for themselves — stained bedding/towels, dirty floors/walls/furniture and overall rough upkeep. The liner was torn off from the shower curtain. A street light outside shined right into the room from the curtains that did not cover the entire window. We stayed on the second floor. The entire place is run down and felt unsafe. The reception looks nothing like the photos. They are behind protective glass with many security cameras all over the property. The location is located right by the interstate so easy to get around but that also means interstate noise. We spent over an hour desperately trying to find another hotel, but everything in the area was sold out because of the Bills game. We ended up having to go to Walmart to buy a blow-up mattress, bedding, and towels just to get through the night — that’s how unlivable the room was. This was by far the worst hotel stay we’ve ever had. I’m not sure how any of these 5/5 star reviews made it here. Avoid at all costs.

There were corgarette burns in the bedding and the tub was dirty when we arrived. The hallways outside the room were covered I n garbage and debris and staff seemed indifferent when issues were addressed to them. Overall we were very disappointed with our stay

• Marc (6/5): Very Basic Motel Hard to Recommend for Longer Stay - This is a very basic motel. Smells a bit smokey. My room's bathroom was not even stocked with free toiletries. The room did not feel like it was cleaned well. There is only free coffee and tea bags in the lobby for a few hours in the morning, which was nothing special. No microwave or fridge in my room. I would not recommend this motel for more than one night.

• Alice (4/5): - This hotel seems to be older and beat up feeling. The room was clean but had no homey feel. There were no pictures on the walls or a clock and had limited outlets. The small refrigerator in the room looked like they took it from someone's garage. It was very best up and the seals were very moldy. The bed felt like I was sleeping on the box spring with a sheet on it. The pillows were so cheap and flat. The Bathroom was clean but the floor was warped and the door kept getting stuck when we tried to open and close it. Overall, the bathroom was very dated feeling and seemed very used. The staff were courteous upon check-in and at checkout. The picture online of the front lobby is not correct and is just a small room with a front counter with plexiglass walk up window for checking in.

Although close to and next to highways and other businesses, did not notice undue noise inside the hotel. Very Convenient (10 mins) to the Buffalo Niagara Airport. Plenty of eating establishments on Maple Rd and Niagara Falls Blvd. I would stay there again if in the area.

What’s worse, Expedia refused to allow cancellation, which is completely unacceptable. Expedia’s deceptive practices are outrageous and should be subject to serious penalties—or even closure—for misleading customers in this way. They earn billions of dollars simply by cheating.
