Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not worth the money - Very run down motel (still early 80s). Not the hotels fault but a transformer went out, so no electricity from 5 to 10:30pm with temp was at 105 that day. Very hot room with a weak a/c. Finally cooling off around 4am. Was not happy.
- marlon (10/5): Great vintage "stuck in time" retro, but clean - This place is too cool. Very vintage. Retro. California Gold Rush wall paper. Vintage ceramic tile in bathroom. Wood paneling. Even picture tube TV. We are talking 50-70 years back. Of course fits with JUnction, TX, as the town seems stuck in time, too. We laughed, when "Petticoat Junction" came on the TV. Clean. Good bed. Cost is reasonable. $50, so even price is stuck in time.
- Terry (8/5): Great place and town to crash and just relax! - Older property, but my rom had new carpet and everything worked very well like the tv and wifi.
The staff was very nice and helpful and it was very QUIET. Noise has been my beef with most places I have stayed in the past several years.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Room was decent for the price. Property seemed kind of run down.
- 83tanyaw (2/5): DO NOT Stay Here - This is a very old and not well kept property. Water pressure was terrible and the rooms are scary. I wish I would have researched better and found a place that would feel safe, do yourself a favor and book a corporate hotel/motel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice room and staff helpful. Beautiful and quiet town. Will stay here again.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room was not updated and the tub was hard to look at
- A_V_Wedding_Lady (8/5): Very good deal for overnight ~ - The check in was easy, the lady who checked us in was professional. The room was large, clean. Do not expect to be a 5 star place. Everything is older than the 90’s, however the bed was comfortable and very important to me the water pressure is excellent. I would return ~
- Santiago (10/5): Nice, and Quiet. - This is a comfortable stay. We say it's nice, and quiet. There are many places within minutes from here. The staff are friendly here, and it was very easy going on our trip.
- Tracy (4/5): We're Done Here - Nice people and area, but tons of little roaches, the kinds that get in your bags and ride home with you. This property has gone way downhill, sadly.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - There are only 2-hole plugs. Could not charge up batteries. Outside wiring is very much a fire hazard. The town needs to inspect the fire code standards immediately.
- rnprofessr (4/5): Rethink staying here! - We stayed two nights this past weekend and we're sorry we did the check in was easy and Chris the asst manager was very pleasant
We opened our door and it had hardwood floors that appeared new the bed was give abs it had a microwave and refrigerator
Then we went in the bathroom could not flush toilet unless we turned it on every time under the tank
The floors in the bathroom needed attention and we were afraid to turn on the a/c or the heater as the controls looked so old and rusty it was scary
The ice machine was broken and swimming pool was empty except for about two inches of brown scum
If we had not already paid for the two nights we would have left
It appears they need some heavy ans intensive maintenance inside and out
Was told by locals this used to be very nice wish it were again
- Evelyn (10/5): Thank you - Very kind folks
- Robert (4/5): Not Happy at The Hill - I would have to say that it's on it's last leg. They need to do some repairs or remodeling.
- Christopher (6/5): Average - Looks like just re-did the flooring and bathroom. Furniture a little outdated. Also rooms had no smoke alarms or carbon monoxide detectors which is a big safety issue for especially when they just have window air conditioners installed.
- Jack (2/5): Never again ! - Arrived about 3:30pm, desk clerk couldn't locate reservation, finally after a call to Hotels.com and two additional desk clerks, reservation was confirmed. Room provide was not the reserved room with a single bed. Towels may have been white in the past but most were not currently. No thermostat in room, heat provided by an antique electric wall heater with hand drawn indicators. AC didn't seem to work. Bathroom is from about the 1950s. Pictures provided on Hotels.com not truly indicative of the actual room. Although the motel was mostly empty, management decided to rent the room next to mine about midnight, it was easy to tell what TV program they elected to watch, until about 1a.m.
I strongly urge to consider any of the other motels located in Junction, TX.
- dolomoto (6/5): Clean room, fair prices - Basic room with clean sheets and clean bathroom. The tile floor in the room was nice, no worries about what previous occupants spilled on it. A fair choice to spend a night. There is a good restaurant next door.
- Stacey (10/5): Nice motel. - The customer service was amazing. I have a severe allergy to scents. When scent crept into my room they changed me to another room . The rooms were clean and neat. I would definintly stay here again.
- Verified traveler (4/5): We did only pay $50 - The room was in bad condition with the bedding and carpet could have been updated. Very stained.
- Kimmie (6/5): Good cheap clean motel. - All your basic needs are taken care of. No frills. We have stayed here several times.
- JRBarajas (2/5): Terrible Place to Stay - This is literally a family owned property. I had a very early check in (5am) and the man who I woke up to check in was very rude and upset that I woke him. The property is extremely old/plumbing did not work properly. You would be better off going up the road to the Motel 6.
- tlynnc2014 (6/5): Budget friendly place - On the road and it was getting late. The price and the fact that they had a room sold us! Very friendly family owned place. Room was clean but in need of some TLC. There were exposed electrical outlets. It had a refrigerator. Great little dive restaurant within walking distance.
- Pinkmomzilla (8/5): Cheap and convenient - Stayed for a funeral. Pool was closed but the lady at front desk was awesome. Huge room clean you get what you pay for. Hot water a night sleep next to a good restaurant. If you are looking for fancy do not stay here but if you are just needing to shower/sleep stay. They also allow pets
- evelyn (10/5): No Pool, Very Clean! - Was a bit disappointed upon arrival, because after a hot day and a long drive we were ready to swim in the swimming pool that is listed as one of the amenities on the website and it was empty. Didn't look like it had been filled all year long. We decided to make the best of it, because for the price-who wouldn't? The motel is old, yes. But the rooms are VERY clean. Cleaner than some of the 3 star hotel rooms I have stayed in. The service is friendly, and the people in the area are very nice as well. We really enjoyed our stay, and swam in the nearby Llano River.
- Haley (4/5): - The room wasn't horrible, but honestly I was a little afraid to even open up the shower curtain. It was good for a one night stay, except for the small lizzard on the ceiling that we had to catch and let go outside.
- Bo (2/5): One night stay at Hills Hotel - I reserved the hotel online. I arrived Thursday 7/1 night. The bed was infested with bedbugs. I couldn't sleep and left 4am.
- Verified traveler (4/5): just to sleep and shower - Older rooms,
- pinktulip (6/5): Good choice for one night - Room was clean, albeit outdated. Only the hot water tap worked for the shower, which made for some uncomfortable moments. The wi-fi was extremely spotty. The hotel is conveniently located off of the main road and is right next door to a pretty good restaurant.
- daland2015 (8/5): Our Getaway - We booked The Hills Motel through Priceline sight unseen. Fingers crossed, we drove 3 hours. The place was awesome. Quaint and quiet, a throwback to the good old days. The room was warm and clean, plenty of electrical outlets near bed. Service was great. The Isaack Resturant on same location, another Juntion, Texas Icon. We stayed 2 nights for $67 what else can we say, book it.
- melishae (6/5): tolerate it - if on a budget - We traveled on a budget so we knew were getting what we paid for. The owner was nice, he even turned on the air conditioner in our room before we got there (it was a hot day). the room was average in cleanliness. The hotel in general could use LOTS of upgrades. The bed was very firm so it kept from from getting a good night sleep. The constant noise of the air conditioner didnt help either.
- RetiredRidgecrest_CA (4/5): Cheap, but Watch It! - I am a 75 year old retiree and a seasoned car traveler. I look for value in a motel and can tolerate many motel shortcomings as I carry with me most of the things that motels may lack and I am a sound sleeper. I look for a cheap, fairly clean room with a somewhat comfortable bed and a shower with plenty of hot water and good pressure.
I booked this motel directly by telephone for $36.16 and night for a king non-smoking room for Sunday, 23 September, 2012.
The single story L-shaped motel is located on 1 1/2 miles off US-377 at exit, EXIT 456. The motel is old and used and is apparently largely occupied by extended stay Hispanics. I arrived at 1:30pm and found two small children playing with papers atop the front desk. Check -in went smoothly but when I got to my room I found the key did not work in the door and the female manager seemed irritated that she had to g1ve me another.
My room, #24, was a drive up 2 double bed non-smoking room (vice the king I had requested). As I was pulling a small cargo trailer I was forced to park across the courtyard from my room in a darkened area. When I left the following morning at 4:00am it was not until I was 100 miles down the highway that I found that 15 gallons of gas had been siphoned from my truck during the night.
The room and bath were bug and odor free and fairly clean.
The room was very large and contained a TV, mini-mini fridge a microwave and a clock but no coffee pot.
Although there were cigarette burns in some of the few pieces of furniture in the room, the bed and bathroom linen was clean but worn. The bed itself was comfortable as were the pillows.
Lighting was very poor but all lights worked as did all other appliances, including TV with a lot of channels.
The bathroom and vanity were fairly clean and there was plenty of hot water and great water pressure.
There is room for trailer/truck parking but watch it.
Overall a cheap place to stay if you want a comfortable bed and a good hot shower. The downside is probably that some of the permanent tenants may not be untrustworthy.
I don't use WiFi and/or take breakfast and did not check out any of the local restaurants so cannot comment.
My next stop is Beaumont, TX.
