Unfortunately climbing up to the cabins is quite steep. The concierge dropped our bags off the golf cart. Our bed was extremely uncomfortable. It was like sleeping on plywood. We asked to check out and get a refund. The boss would not approve. They did move us to a very upgraded cabin with a jacuzzi. The bed was much better in that cabin. We enjoyed soaking our muscles after a long day of hiking. We appreciate the upgrade. I dont think we will stay here again if returning to the area

Roberta (10/5): - The property was fabulous. We had a 3 bedroom cabin and each bedroom had it's own bathroom. It was nicely furnished. We didnt cook, but all the necessities were there. The grounds were amazing! There were wonderful hiking trails and a lookout where you could see to the Pacific Ocean. There was a hydroponic garden where you could pick vegetables. My grandson loved the hammock on the deck. The whole experience was so peaceful. I highly recommend this property!

Orly (10/5): Such a nice modern cabin - Amazing place , we had a family deluxe cabin for our family of five . We had 3 bedroom, living space and kitchen . We didn’t use the kitchen . The patio was so nice and second night we got hot tub installed on it as a surprise which was so good after long hike . We had our own parking . The staff was very nice and helpful and brought us towels in the evening for the hot tub . Location was great , just a minute from good restaurants and 5 min from downtown .

There is quite a steep walk to Santa Elena but taxi's are plentiful. This is a fantastic place to explore the Monteverde area from. Lots of activities and the beautiful town of Santa Elena is very welcoming with lots of food options.

Our stay was made even more special by the service we received from Gustavo at the pool bar who went out of his way to provide us with excellent service and made us feel welcome every time. Alexandra at the front desk took her time to make sure that our large family got rooms near each other. The service we received from those two people made our trip made our stay that much better. And my favorite part was the surrounding evnvironment, which was full of beautiful flora and fauna. We witnessed so many different local mammals and birds right next to our cabin! MARYBETH (10/5): - Los Pinos is a rustic little cabin community. The cabins are clean, adequate cooking utensils etc towels and sheets provided. Reasonable price , close to many attractions, restaurants and excursions. The grounds are very a very nice natural setting. We had a lovely time and the staff was so wonderful, especially Anna who clued us in to the Hummingbird Cafe close by where we saw lots of different hummingbirds close enough to take stunning pictures with our phones. We would definitely stay again!
Verified traveler (10/5): Pura vida - Lovely, spacious cabin in beautiful setting. Lots of wildlife literally on the doorstep (an armadillo!) and nice trails nearby. Walkable to a grocery store and restaurants, and just across the road there is a popular viewpoint for watching the stunning Monteverde sunsets. Very friendly, helpful staff organised an awesome coffee tour for us. A really special, unique place to stay.
Graham (10/5): Enchanting Escape at Los Pinos Cabanas y Jardines - I recently had the pleasure of staying at Los Pinos Cabanas y Jardines, and it exceeded all expectations. The service was not only friendly but genuinely warm, making us feel right at home. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, although a few extra pillows in the bedroom would have been appreciated. Situated in a great location, the hotel provided easy access to local attractions. The highlight, however, was the magical garden, a tranquil oasis that transported us to another world. The receptionist, a delightful and helpful soul, added a personal touch to our experience. What set Los Pinos apart was the incredible wildlife encounters. From playful coatis to curious agoutis and even an armadillo, the natural beauty unfolded right in front of our room. The lookout, with its charming charm, provided the perfect spot to take in the breathtaking surroundings. Los Pinos Cabanas y Jardines is not just a hotel; it's a haven of hospitality and natural wonders.

Just outside of the busy part of town to be quiet and have beautiful gardens and natural beauty, but you could walk in to town, maybe a mile. You really don't need airconditioning here and I don't like heat. We were here in March and it was too hot in Manuel Antonio and way to hot near Liberia but it was nice and cool here. The kitchen lacks enough counter space to really do big cooking but we made simple meals for the 2 of us. We would stay here again for sure!

Pamela (10/5): - This property is in such a beautiful setting if you want to be surrounded by nature. I am from Canada and stayed in the family cabin for three nights and 2.5 days with my mom, dad and boyfriend. The cabin is nice and spacious and the kitchen is handy for cooking breakfast. A few more utensils would have been nice though. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The only downside is this property is a bit out of the main town, but there are a few restaurants (overpriced) and a little grocery store within a five minute walk.

We had friends in the next cabana - we got together in the evening, lit a fire in the fireplace and enjoyed the time together. The small hike on the property is fun and easy (about 45 min.) And the lookout was great. It is a local family owned and run property. We did have a bird or some other animal running around on our roof in the morning, but the Cabana was very clean and nice. I also enjoyed the hammock on the porch - rested there during a rainstorm. It was so peaceful and nice. If we ever come back, we will definitely stay here again.

The cabin was private, comfortable, and the perfect place to relax and recharge in between adventures. Everything you need is nearby, or you don't have to leave at all. There is a playground, hiking trails, a beautiful look out point, and greenhouses where you can buy fresh picked greens and herbs. We saw armadillos, coatis, agoutis, and dozens of bird species from our deck. To top it off the family that owns the property is welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Highly recommend!

oscar (10/5): - The grounds were amazing. The apartment was its own little house which was so clean and spacious for a family of 6. The trails were well kept and we saw so many animals right on the property. We walked to many of the stores and eateries.

Karen (10/5): Clean, comfortable, with trails on the property - Check-in was easy, info about the property was helpful, and the cabin was great! It is spacious, very clean, and had everything we needed. We loved the hammock on the front porch, as well as the outdoor couch. We saw a small armadillo and a coati from the porch. We enjoyed the trails and lookout platform on the property too. This has been my favorite place to stay in CR so far :-)

The best part was the owners- they went out of their way to help us make reservations for excursions, secure transportation, and recommend great places to eat. They were easy to contact, kind, and made our stay in Monteverde everything we had hoped! Wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Monteverde!

BRAD (10/5): Super clean - This was quite possibly the cleanest lodging that I ever stayed in. There was not any dirt or dust anywhere in the room. The woodwork and furniture looked like it had just been polished.

Elizabeth (10/5): Definitely stay here! - Wonderful place! It’s within walking to the city but up some big hills. It is tucked in among the forest and their garden for fresh greens and veggies is wonderful! The family running the place are also very helpful and friendly!

Be sure to book outside adventures through Los Pinos as their guides are fun, knowledgeable and have connections to make your adventure top notch. We checked off ALL of our “wanna sees”. We loved our treehouse cabana!

Verified traveler (6/5): - I like that the property is family owned business and has it’s own private trail for hiking. Great location, close distance to town and activities. Staff were nice and accommodating. I didn’t like the overall design because it is out dated, also found cockroach and bugs inside our cabin. I guess it’s part of the cabin experience, plus you’re surrounded by lush garden.

Verified traveler (10/5): - Outstanding place, very helpful & nice staff!! Don't hesitate to stay here, especially in one of the stand-alone bungalow cabins (was called junior suite). Full size fridge & kitchen. Cool hammock on our own porch. Lots of tv stations for night-time, including many in English. Walkable to Don Luis, cool little supermarket, and a couple of other excellent restaurants we liked.
Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful property with several different cabins to stay in, each one located far enough from the others that you can’t hear other guests, just the sounds of nature. Our cabin had 3 beds (very comfy) and 3 baths (good showers). There are walking trails and a vegetable garden on site. We saw a few different species of beautiful birds and small mammals. Located within a few minutes’ walk or drive of restaurants, bank, grocery store, etc. The staff was very friendly and checking in and out was a breeze. Would definitely stay again!
Christina (8/5): - We liked the Jardine (garden) but was told at the front desk that we had to pay for the vegetables we wanted, but in the literature in the room, it stated that the garden was free for the guests. Also we can hear the traffic and the mechanic shop where we were, so it didn't feel that secluded. We also liked that outdoor fireplace. That was a nice touch, but finding a match to light it was a challenge. LOL
Lucy (10/5): Absolutely wonderful - I can not recommend this place highly enough. We are a UK family of four with two young boys. The cabins are all set apart in stunning grounds. Every day we saw a variety of wildlife- coatis, armadillos and motmot birds to name a few. The cabins are beautiful and have everything you need if you want to self cater. If not, there’s a bakery just across the road. Staff are welcoming and quick to respond to any query. We were all very sad to leave!
