• Kennedy A (1/5): Bad and a highly poor service - Nothing. I had to go ask the receptionist why the heater in the room wasn’t working and he said it’s not working and offer to my me a heater from the reception storage and he was very disrespectful.. Because it was very poor and the receptionist had a bad attitude, just unacceptable to every guest paying their hard earned money to stay in such a hotel

• Chamburuka (4/5): AWFUL EXPERIENCE - The property is located along the coast line and one can feel the sea breeze. It's however clear that the building is not being well maintained in terms of cleaning aesthetics. My room was not cleaned the day after check in and when I asked the receptionist he cam e across as very rude. He asked me what I meant by saying my room was no cleaned. I further that the towels I used where still on the floor when I came back at night and it was too late for me to lodge a complaint that night. He became agitated because I was asking for an explanation. I will never book again nomatter how cheap it could be. Cleaning is sub standard.

• Chelle1982 (7/5): - Sea view, shops close by. Pool table in hotel £1. Lift not working, a lot of steps to get to our room. Room itself was fine, but the toilet and shower areas were tiny. Bar not well stocked.
• Mike (7/5): Cheap and cheerful. - Overlooking the sea. Not far from the town centre. Fairly close to local amenities. No breakfast and road can be noisy, I think double glazing would have helped mitigate that problem.
• Gosling (4/5): Eastbourne was lovely but the sttay at the hotel was a disappointment - Bed was the worst l have ever slept in felt like l had a lump of wood in the middle of my back. Pressed the buzzer for a drink at the bar no one came to serve went to reception and was told he was busy waited for fifteen minutes no show so went to bed. Change bed put staff on who are willing to serve the guests.

Not sure what was wrong with the water but made a cup of tea and it was orange, thought it was the tea bag and had my own and my own milk so made another and it was still orange and tasted foul. The tea looked all separated and there was thick sludge in the bottom. The water looked clear but obviously something wrong with it. Ran the water for 5 minutes and it was then better but we were worried about the water and as we were running ina race went and bought water.

• Muneeba (7/5): - Very calm and quiet, cosy and staff approachable. The most important thing they provided stuff for tea and coffee plus kettle and cups. And bathroom was neat and clean as well For us it seems like a bit far because we were coming and going to town and other attractions. It’s almost 15 minutes walk but still doable.
• Isaak (7/5): Value for money pleasant stay - The sea view from our room was excellent. High ceilings and comfortable (soft) bed and pillows. The room and bathroom were very clean. The pressure of the water was great. The bar lounge area was spacious and free to use. Filipe was very helpful throughout our stay and helped us with explaining how the parking situation works. If you want to park in the road in front of the hotel it costs £2.5 per day. There is free parking on the roads in the back of the hotel. As this is an old property, we felt that the room, bathroom and corridors could do with some renovation. The shower cabin in the room with the sea view was just okay for our size but a bigger person could have struggled. Although the view was amazing, the outside of the windows needs cleaning (removing spider webs and painting the external rail).

• Richard (8/5): Excellent value - The room was comfortable and in good condition. Slept well and shower was good. The TV was a bit fiddly, and I think the mug in the room maybe had washing up liquid residue as it tasted a little odd. Both very minor things though, and I would stay again .

Unfortunately I was woken up a couple of times on each night (doors banging, people talking loudly in corridors) but that’s probably to be expected in such a large hotel. Not the hotel’s fault!

• Emma (8/5): Bank hoilday stay - Hotel was nice and modern The lift was out of service so wasn't ideal but a young lad was helping to take up your luggage just felt abit sorry for him. The stairs were quite narrow leading up to the first floor and the door was heavy to open

• Simon (6/5): I think I was just unlucky but given the number of hotels to choose from I won’t be coming back. - The bed was very comfortable, just a shame I couldn’t get much sleep! There were no toiletries as promised. It was raining and there was a constant dripping onto the window ledge so wedged a towel to dampen the sound. It was unfortunate that the room next door had a loud voiced man who was on his phone most of the night (a respite from 2.30-4.30am!)
• Philip (1/5): Crap dont go there please - There was no breakfast as they have no catering. There is no parking, no lift for disabled , no bar, no hot water and no heating. Very very rude staff who snatch your card out of your hand place in machine and demand your number be put in.I would urge all people to stay clear of this crap hole that is not a hotel. No heating or hot water.

Spent 86 for 1 night was too much for what we got. - The room was fairly clean Water pressure is terrible, the hot water was Luke warm at best, shower was tiny, no plug sockets near the bed, TV was tiny, no breakfast at all at the property, walls are paper thin, bed was incredibly hard and the bathroom door was so broken my husband got stuck in there twice.
• Shahid (10/5): Excellent Stay with Great View! - This was one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in Eastbourne. I had a lovely room with an absolutely stunning view. The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. I’m definitely looking forward to visiting again, as this hotel made my trip to Eastbourne truly comfortable and enjoyable. I can't think of any. Everything was better than expected
• Corrina Foley (8/5): Pleasant - For £40, it was what I needed for one night. I liked that I could pay £2.50 for a permit ticket to be able to park directly outside the hotel. The receptionist was lovely and really informative and chatty. My room was right at the top of the stairs so could hear the door slam shut quite a lot with people going and leaving their rooms. The curtains also didn’t shut and left a wide gap in the middle, meaning I had to unhook the curtains and rehook them so they shut in the middle but still left a gap. I did inform reception about it the next morning.

The boiler is set at the very minimum, if you like to have a warm/hot shower look elsewhere. I raised this with 2 different members of staff and both said management won't do anything about it.

The water in the shower was only warm not hot and was not really powerful enough. I would have liked to have been able to open the window, also to use the balcony.

• Ashley (9/5): Honest reviews... - Nice staff and room was comfortable.. A lot of people give this hotel a bad review so I was dubious but don't believe every review you read.. It was that nice I extended my stay an extra week and the manager managed at short notice to sort that out.. Also the night receptionist is a nice guy got chatting with him and the cleaners.. Everybody was great.. Nothing was to much trouble.. 😃👍😀👍 Only one thing wrong the whole time was my room 134 the curtains weren't wide enough to shut out the light. Need new curtains😔.. Apart from that nice little room.. Oh and the windows could do with a clean but thats not the end of the world..🌍🔚😏

• Rob (8/5): Not bad - Good location, nice staff. Good pizza. No frills but comfortable. No breakfast, broken elevator, mediocre wifi. If you want breakfast consider that it will cost 10 to 16 gbp per person. Might be better to choose another place.

• Cumberland (10/5): - Had read a couple of unfavourable reviews, so was a bit wary, but I could not fault it? The staff were exceptional, polite, friendly nothing seemed to be too much trouble. I would have no hesitation in recommending this Hotel. I will definitely stay there again. Would have liked some breakfast as we could not find anywhere close by to get fuelled up for the day. We took some biscuits with us and that did till we got breakfast.

• Mutley1959 (3/5): One To Avoid - Easy check in. Confused about service charge refund, nobody seemed to know how to get a refund. Room was nothing like the images presented on Booking.com Essentially it was a single room with a double bed, a tiny shower room and a cupboard for a toilet. One very dirty window in the corner of the room with dirty curtains hanging off a plastic rail that wasn't up to the job. It certainly wasn't the accommodation I was expecting and when I complained at checkout, I was told I would've had to pay more for the room shown in the images. Either misleading information provided to or by Booking.com or the hotel were winging it. Wouldn't recommend it.

• Cox (7/5): Comfortable, very reasonable price but shower broken! - The location is fantastic obviously and the beds were comfortable. We stayed in room 125 and when using the shower for the first time I discovered that the temperature control was broken! The only water temperature coming out was scalding hot. So my wife and daughter couldn't shower the whole weekend. I reported this to reception and just got a thanks for reporting this comment. To be fair I wasn't really complaining but this is a H&S issue so some kind of urgency in the reply would have been more reassuring.
• Lewis (3/5): Sleepless - The location Just a few minor changes would have made it bearable. Mold on ceiling (the smell) and curtains were too small for the window so had light coming in. I know it’s cheap but these jobs would make it a lot more comfortable and people could sleep
