Guest Reviews
- Adventurer_Jen (4/5): Basic and dirty - We stayed at the Annaliza apartments for a wedding renewal. Our family all stayed here too.
Our initial impression was late at night and we were greeted by a stern gentleman who took our city tax and air conditioning charge (€7 per day).
Our room seemed basic but we were very tired and went to sleep. On waking I realised that only one room had air conditioning. This meant I had to share the same room as my 17 year old son.
I realised on waking our kettle didn’t work. I went to reception to report this and was handed another. This didn’t work either. Thankfully a third did!!
There was no tea, coffee facilities or milk. There was a fridge of decent size. The crockery was sparse for a self catering basis.
On our third day the water went off and returned as sludge until it ran clear later. Our kitchen tap popped off and had to be screwed back on. As with ALL OF GREECE the toilet tissue MUST be put in a bin. I was surprised most travellers to Corfu were not aware of this. Sadly, the bins were not emptied a lot. I would recommend taking dog bags to out the tissue in to avoid the smells.
Our bed wasn’t changed the whole of our break. The towels were not washed. I found this offensive. I had a day at the beach but even after showering before bed I found the sheets grainy. This persisted as they were not changed.
As you can see in the pictures: squashed mosquitos on the walls not cleaned, long hairs all over the bathroom, thick dust on the hairdryer. Overall, very dirty!
The bed and breakfast option (breakfast included) was subject to a limited menu and not a buffet style. This was tasty and satisfying. The pool was exceptionally clean but no inflatables and splashing allowed. There were a few loungers that we used for sunbathing each day.
The bar is extensive and food was served all day. This was reasonably priced. Card is available for payments.
The locations is great and only a 5 minute walk to the main strip. The road is a little frightening as the cars do get close to you as there is no real path.
The beach is shingle but very pretty with an inflatable attraction which is great for older children.
I would only recommend a stay at Annaliza if you are on a budget and only plan your bed as a base.
- 734derekc (8/5): OK for the money. - The location is is good ,nice views of the mountains in front and pool views from some rooms.
Our room was clean with a kitchenette and separate sitting area leading on to a balcony with said pool and mountain views.
There is a bar and large indoor seating area with a few tables outside, doubling up as eating area for breakfast.
Hot water was plentiful.
The issues are the rooms are tired and in need of an upgrade with minor maintenance issues like missing grout and gaps around plug sockets.
The other bugbear was people were smoking at the tables outside and in ground floor rooms
Their smoke came up and filled the 2nd floor rooms.
Probably best to get a garden view room away from noisy guests and smokers.
- 709liame (2/5): Inbetweeners hotel moment - Real life Inbetweeners movie Hotel scene - What a dump. Terrible place, the rooms were old and dated. Unclean, bins were not emptied everyday when they were emptied it wasn’t until about 3-4pm disgusting. We have time stamped pics for proof. Plug sockets hanging out the wall. Totally unsuitable for children. The place is marketed as family hotel. Absolute rubbish. We would never return this hell hole. We spoke with numerous other holiday goers staying there who expressed their concerns too. As it was their first and last time staying here as is ours. The place often smelled of sewage and the staff are so rude and unhelpful. We stayed 10 days and the sheets were never changed once and we only had the towels changed 2 times.. however the towels were all stained and dirty. It’s disgusting. Also you have to put your used toilet roll in a small broken bin which doesn’t get emptied everyday as marketed. MOSQUITOES GALORE - bugs everywhere absolute filthy accommodation. The beds were like slabs of concrete and so uncomfy. You have to balance the kettle on a shelf to plug in and use. Also the pool filter loud noise going off constantly sounds exactly like the NuNu from the Teletubbies only gets turned off about 10pm. Children weren’t aloud inflatables in the pool. Also.. all the loungers are tired and broke. We got some out on the grass and a woman come over and said I best clear all the cat poo up which is everywhere on the grass. Pool table was broke. The WiFi barely works. No entertainment. The place is in need of a massive refurb and new ownership. The old man or manager is sarky and shouts at you if you ask for anything. The place was just filthy gave us all bad stomachs all week.
- Z7568ZHbrianb (2/5): Never again would I stay here - Wish I had read the reviews before going to this hotel to avoid it spoiling our stay. we were a family of six with an autistic child. The night we arrived outside of the complex looked nice so we thought the rooms would be nice too, how wrong we were. An old man was at reception, no welcoming greeting at all that you would expect. He just took our 50 euros tourist tax with no smile and showed us to our room that was it. Got to our rooms to find a hostel feeling and filthy, not a fully equipped kitchen as advertised and the light fitting had come loose in the ceiling, cracked tiles on the floor, splattered mosquitos on the walls, and a messy garden view. For being self catering apartments no tea, coffee, sugar or milk available in the rooms for arrival. we were lost for words at the state of the rooms. No toilet paper can be put down the toilet so therefore it had to go in the bin, absolutely disgusting and it was mosquitos haven. The bins were not emptied regularly and stank the room out. We all got bitten by the mosquitos because of that, there was air con available at the cost of 7 euros a day!. This hotel definitely is NOT for families, the children were not allowed to have inflatables in the pool, no splashing and not allowed to eat own food around the pool. Urgently needed a travel cot on arrival and told at reception come back in the morning between hours of 9-4pm and ask then. Staff were very rude and unhelpful so we never asked for anything again. The beds were so uncomfortable we all bad backs and no sleep, we tried to find alternative accomodation but fully booked. Extra mattresses were only provided after our tour operator spoke to the hotel. We could not wait for our stay to be over and get on the plane and come home and would never recommend this hotel. We've stayed in budget hotels before and never experienced anything like this.
- rosaliaa397 (2/5): Terrible, please do not book that place, the pictures are not reality. - That place should be closed down. It should be reported to the Greek authorities.
We spent 6 days and the cleaning service doesn’t exist, they didn’t clean or change the bed linen once.
They cut the power and the water supply every day.
The manager or the old man in reception is nasty and rude, with a passive aggressive attitude, not wanting to help with absolutely anything.
Our apartment was facing a dump or homeless houses, and under our balcony there was rubbish everywhere, it was very scary.
If you seat by the pool, everyone smokes in your face, you could be sunbathing and everyone is smoking around you.
Terrible place, I felt I was in a 3rd world country instead of Europe, as the place was extremely old and dirty.
That place should be reported to the authorities for unhealthy and safety reasons.
- stevedI9267GQ (10/5): Perfect holiday in perfect surroundings - Well what a fantastic holiday
Hosts Manos , Mel and family were absolutely amazing
Please ignore the poor reviews this place is heaven
Great room , lovely kitchen facilities and a great bathroom too
The pool bar is well stocked and the food was very tasty
We 100% will return and we also met some lovely people
Swimming pool was very clean and there are plenty on sun beds
The Apartments are perfectly placed for the beach , restaurants and bars
- winsal (8/5): Good value - A little dated but lovely & clean near to shops, beach & bars and a very good butcher for those self catering. A bit disappointed with the lack of traditional Greek dishes and a lack of entertainment in Ipsos itself would have liked some Greek dancing or live music.
- carolcC9004LU (2/5): Disappointed - Unwelcoming and disappointing for a family holiday.
Review:
If you’re travelling as a family, especially in a larger group, think twice — this hotel is anything but welcoming.
We travelled as a family group of 19 for a long-awaited get-together at Annaliza Aparthotel in Ipsos, but unfortunately the experience was far from positive. From the moment we arrived, there was no sense of welcome — instead, we were met with a list of pool rules, which set an unfriendly tone for the entire stay. We’ve stayed here before without issue, but this time the atmosphere and welcome were very different.
The apartments themselves were clean and functional, but several issues overshadowed this. We were reprimanded for getting our balcony wet, even though the hotel’s own sprinkler system regularly sprayed water onto it. Around the pool, our group naturally filled the seating area, which seemed to provoke hostility from some other guests who glared and muttered at our younger family members.
It’s important to note that while the children were obviously excited and happy — as children should be on holiday — they were always well supervised by parents and not allowed to get out of hand. Sadly, this still did not seem enough for certain guests, who made it very clear they would have preferred no children at all. This was particularly disappointing given that the property is advertised as a family hotel.
Between the unfriendly welcome, inconsistent rules, lack of available loungers due to constant reserving, and an overall atmosphere that made us feel like an inconvenience rather than valued guests, what should have been a joyful and memorable family holiday was instead overshadowed by disappointment. We would not return and could not recommend this hotel, especially for larger family groups.
- skyet583 (2/5): Do NOT stay at annaliza - Upon arrival we were spoken down too, no hello, no nice welcome. The manager is rude and unhelpful. We were a family of 5 with other family members there also, we were all treated like a nuisance and a problem from day 1. Our children followed the rules best they can. We were told, no splashing in the pool, no jumping, no floats, no games. Moaned at everyday for something different. The other review which ive seen from a women is false, none of our kids made anyone feel uncomfortable what a weird thing to say, all our kids were there to have fun and enjoy the holiday they didn't stop and stare at anyone. The 'horde' of Scots paid for the holiday just as much as anyone else, kids make noise, maybe in future don't book a supposedly FAMILY FRIENDLY hotel? We got told by the manager that we should discipline our children simply for them laughing in the pool, we left most days and spent our time at paridiso hotel who made us feel welcome, or at the beach. This hotel is run by a bunch of unhappy unfriendly crabbit bunch. Apart from a young man who always said hello or smiled when we came in or left. The only friendly face there. The rooms were outdated, dirty with dead bugs on the walls&a footprint. Beds hard and uncomfortable. The cleaners were nice, did come in and mop and empty the bins daily. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone under 50, anyone with kids, this hotel is only for older people. If you're looking for a family friendly hotel then book PARIDISO. Stay clear of annaliza. Definitely will NOT be back. And will continue to tell people how unfriendly it is. And also to the women who complained about our kids enjoying the holiday you must be miserable as well to be complaining about kids laughing and having a good time. Whenever they were being too loud they got told to be quiet every single time, we respected everyone there. Shame you couldn't show some respect towards us ALSO. Its not our fault we sat at the tables provided? Maybe should have more tables/seats to accommodate everyone.
- jasonwB5883LK (2/5): Embarrassing - Attitude from the staff was completely disrespectful upon arrival. Every morning all you could smell was sewage.. Staff screaming and shouting at each other 12:30am.. Staff shouting at paying customers telling them to get children under control when they where just playing in the pool. Ants everywhere plug sockets where "shocking" I spent €10 in the hotel over 2 weeks. Cleaners where even complaining they had to clean, seriously. Worse experience ever.
- MarianneF355 (8/5): A holiday of two halves - After reading an absolutely terrible review, I felt it my duty to write a review as well. On arrival we were straight away made very welcome. The apartment was quite spacious with 2 bedrooms and very clean. The pool area is beautiful and very well kept. The staff works tirelessly all day to keep the pool and indeed the whole place spic and span. I cannot praise them enough! There is a very nice bar with indoor and outdoor seating, providing breakfasts and tasty snack meals during the day. We slept very well on the beds even though I have back problems. In fact I slept better than at home!
The staff are fantastic. They bent over backwards to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Nothing is too much. The hotel is 3 star, so don’t go and expect 5 star. That would be totally unfair. We had a lovely time there, until a horde of Scots arrived. They took over the pool, the seating area at the bar ( we could not sit outside to have our lunch) and made a total nuisance of themselves. The children ( many of them should have been in school!) were running riot and were allowed to screech and squeal at top level. At nighttime some of the older boys were running uncontrolled around the corridors and a the pool area. Then they would stand and stare at us sitting on our patio, making us feel very uncomfortable. Our usual peaceful evenings were totally disturbed. We don’t expect a noiseless environment and quite like hearing people enjoy themselves, but there are limits and this was ridiculous! We were not the only ones feeling this way. Quite a few of the guests , who would normally have been around the pool area felt the need to escape during the day.
The behaviour of this group destroyed the latter days of our holiday.
This is not a reflection on the hotel at all, just on some very ignorant people.
We are planning to return to the Annaliza next year, because it is a lovely place to stay.
- emmamL2719CA (2/5): AVOID - ❌ Do NOT stay here — worst family holiday ever. We stayed at ANNALIZA (4–18 Sept 2025, 8 adults + 9 kids) and were treated like a nuisance from the moment we arrived. No welcome, just rules banning children from enjoying the pool. NO jumping, NO floats, NO balls, literally from the moment we stepped into reception.
Strangers who weren’t even hotel guests sat around daily, glaring and complaining about our kids.
The rooms were in desperate need of an update. Ants crawling through wall sockets, electric shocks from switches, and dirt and dust under the beds. The place smelled like sewage most mornings, the beds were extremely uncomfortable, and even a simple request for an extra pillow was refused.
Our balcony was getting wet because of foul-smelling sprinklers that switched on through the night, soaking anything you had hanging in your balcony.
No sun in your balconies at any point throughout the day. Small area for sitting and a few sun loungers around the pool. Got complained about for taking up too much seating. (There were 17 of us)
This hotel is not family-friendly in any way and should be advertised as adults-only (50+ in my opinion). It completely ruined our trip — save your money and go elsewhere.
- N2189SVjohnh (6/5): Got what we paid got I think - Wouldn’t normally book this type of a hotel but on this occasion we joined friends who wanted a late budget break .I think that any review you write has to take into account the cost of the holiday, We paid 480 pounds per person flights and accommodation for 10 days starting the 2nd of September so I wasn’t expecting the Ritz anyway this is what we found .
Rooms turned out to be spacious apartments that could easily sleep 4 ,air on in one room is an
extra 5 euros per night. The bathroom is functional no more small shower toilet and sink .Got to be honest the beds are uncomfortable thin foam mattress we both came home with sore backs .We had a large balcony which to be honest we didnt really use
but could see it might be a good place to sit and have a drink .
The Pool area is really nice very clean very pleasant place to sunbathe ,also really nice bar area for a drink in the evenings the barman makes a brilliant Pina Colada by the way
The staff were great and I include the owner in that that, they were pleasant friendly and helpful and the owner helped us out with advice on the best way of getting around the Island .
The hotel is very conveniently situated Five minutes from the strip where you would find the restaurants. and bars .Just a comment on Ipsos I probably won’t return while there are lots Bars there is nothing happening in any of them despite what you will see on social media there’s no entertainment to be had anywhere ..
I had seen the terrible reviews on here for the cost I really don’t know what they expected
This is an honest account of what We found make your own mind up but it’s not terrible and we were not ripped off
- rosr949 (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyable break - We had a wonderful time at the Annalisa, our reception was friendly and helpful. Our rooms were large ,perhaps a little dated but clean and with character. The furniture some may call as old ,but it is beautiful heavy classic furniture and well recovered.Far superior to flat pack .The cleaners as far as we could see were going a great job,as were all the staff we met .
We will be going back.
- RyanC01 (4/5): Poor experience - Upon arrival i was asked to pay the tourist tax, as expected. However they also wanted a €100 deposit per room which we were told nothing about.
During our stay the aircon remote got put into our room, thinking that they had just forgot to do this prior to arrival, we used it, then got told that it will be a €7 per day fee, a few days later, annoyed but not too surprised we kept using it.
Rooms were not cleaned upon arrival. Dead flies on cabinets and in the beds.
Lights not working, screws missing from door handles, lighting overall very dim, stains on bedsheets, bathroom door didn't even close, electrical sockets hanging by the wires on the wall, there was wifi at the hotel, which never worked anywhere in the hotel and plenty more.
Upon checking out, we were told that we would have to pay €50 per room for the aircon (our stay was 5 days and we didn't have the aircon on the first day) however should've been charged a maximum of €35. The man behind the desk was rude and said there was nothing he could do as the manager was out, and he would not ring him for me or pass an email on to me so that I could find out exactly why.
Due to already having to pay the €100 deposit per room they had already taken the money from that.
Very unhappy with the hotel overall. Would not recommend.
- Camper15712874038 (2/5): Location great, but that's it! - Old and tired, in need of renovation, but it will never happen. First stayed in 1985, thought it would be nice to stay again. How wrong I was. Rooms were dirty, floors were not cleaned well. The toilet was black inside. The water smelt awful in the shower. Shutters did not close properly. Old, dark tired furniture. The reception area looked nice, but that was about as far as it went. Location is great, but that's all it had going for it. If they spent some money on the place it could be as wonderful as it was in 1985, but it's unlikely. Some lights and electric sockets not working
- glynf2024 (10/5): A great place! - A brilliant place with wonderful staff, only spoiled in the last few days by ignorant ‘customers’ from Glasgow.
The pool, cleaning and all the staff were wonderful and it was so peaceful until the ‘chavs’ arrived. I would definitely recommend it to others.
- ArgassiAddict (10/5): Perfect Holiday! - I'm currently here and can honestly say I love it! Apartment is huge and spotlessly clean. Staff are so friendly, the pool is beautiful, I've met some lovely people. This is my 39th trip to Greece, so I'm very comfortable here! I highly recommend this place. Thank you so much to everyone who has welcomed me so warmly...Eleni 💗
- katesQ3487UG (10/5): Lovely place to stay - Had a lovely time at this hotel. It's in such a good spot, close to the beach and bars and restaurants. Has a nice pool. The staff are lovely. Especially George behind the bar who literally makes the most amazing pina colada I've ever tasted 😍 Rooms are fine, we had to pay extra for air conditioning but unfortunately it was only in one room so our teenage/adult kids had to bring their mattresses in to our room to sleep as (us British not used to the heat 🥵 😅🫣) ..we didn't mind though, it was a place to sleep, we were all out and about during the day anyway. Would definitely recommend this hotel, and a stay in Ipsos. Stunning location 👌
- MikeH42 (10/5): Sheer Bliss - Back home on my island of Corfu staying at Annaliza in Ipsos for 3 weeks of Sheer Bliss. With the great staff; Mano, Mel, Andreas, Tina, Yorgos (George), Stamatis, Ari, Demitri and little Elia. This place has all your needs for a relaxing holiday; Drinks, Meals, Snacks and a wonderful Pool to cool off in the hot summer sun. Then within a 8 minute walk you have the Sea, Restaurants, Bars, Supermarket and Shops. Don’t hold back, book today for your next holiday...
- arthurclacka (10/5): Great place to stay - I booked the this hotel for a week and was concerned when reading some negative reviews, but we found the place welcoming, friendly, spotless. Big 1 bed apartments with everything you need. I don't know how many sockets some petty minded people expect but two in each room is more than adequate especially with double adapter or extension, which we always take. The pool is lovely and diligently cleaned each night, even having an underwater robot cleaner. The staff and management are friendly and it is a perfect location for the beach and to be first on bus with guaranteed seat to Corfu Town.
- abic764 (10/5): Amazing apartments! - Absolutely amazing apartments. Read reviews before traveling and was a little unsure. The staff were amazing. Couldn’t help enough. All the bar staff made you feel at home and nothing was too much trouble. Clean , good value for money. Brilliant location , cleaners adequate. Hotel manager accommodating. Nothing too much trouble. His wife and the young couple amazing , and the gentleman on the bar in the evenings friendly and helpful. Brilliant with my kids , age 7 month , 7 and 15. Close to amenities, nice local beach and places to eat out. Food was lovely and cooked to order. Would also recommend homers boat trip ! Will definitely be revisiting.
- M8537FJdavids (10/5): It's what you make it! - I have been to Corfu many times, staying everywhere from Sadari to Kavos, and if there is something I learnt, it's what you make it.
The hotel is a 3 star, so don't expect the world. The location is on the far side of Ipsos, so expect to walk, the bus no 7 to Dassia and Corfu town is only a 6 minutes walk away and there and some great restraints near buy. Be careful of bars promising you cheap drinks, you buy what you get, cheap drinks.
The hotel has a great pool, the rooms are clean and spacious. They don't get cleaned every day, but do get the bins emptied.
The staff are a refection on you, be curious and humble and they will do everything to make your stay a pleasure. Be rude or arsy and they will be distant and unaccomidating.
There is an amazing butcher at the end of the road and a cheap supermarket on the strip, 15 min walk.
I came here on my own, and loved every minute. Coming back in a few months.
- kimmC7716BB (6/5): Okay, but nothing spectacular - I've just done a 7 night holiday here. It's a perfect location to the beach and restaurants and a bus that goes into the town centre. There's a supermarket, a butchers and a lovely patisserie just down the road aswell.
The rooms are dated and could do with some maintenance but in general, has what you need. Although they could do with adding more basic things seen as its self catering like scissors, kettle, chopping board, fire alarm etc. The bed was just too singles pushed together. The mattresses need updating as you could feel the springs digging in to you. I moved one of the base cushions from one of the sofas and put that onto the bed so it was more of a memory foam which was then fine. The hairdryer didn't work but luckily they had a spare at reception.
My room was facing the back of the property so there is a bit of noise. A drain that would start making churning noises every 15 minutes or so, cars going down the one way street that have to beep to let other cars know. Any car or scooter would then make the air con unit on the wall outside the bedroom window start rattling just by driving past. There is also a very cute dog in the villa next door but it does bark alot. My room also attracted a lot of mosquitos so make sure you get spray and a plug in.
There was a power cut in the area on the first day I arrived so there was no electricity or water for nearly 7 hours. Apparently this was planned but no one told me when I checked in and signs only went up after it had started. I had a drink at the bar but wasn't even offered it free as compensation.
The staff were all lovely and helpful. The actual hotel and pool was clean and tidy but I didn't have my room cleaned once when I was there. The lady would come and emptied my bins and that was it. Wouldn't even have my towels changed some days.
They have a good selection of cocktails. I only had food here once when it was absolutely pouring down which was a pizza but you could tell it was just a store bought one thrown in the oven.
Overall, it's probably what you would expect for a 3 star apartment.
- Elza96 (6/5): Not terrible but not great either. - When looking to go away we tend to opt for smaller apartments, more traditional or family run accommodations over the modern hotels or bigger chains, so we always expect abit of "Character" however on this occasion we was left abit underwhelmed. We are happy with Basic But expect Clean.
Starting with the good point:
- Location is perfectly situated for access to the main strip without being right on top, a short 5min walk if that to start of it.
- Staff where all really friendly that we interacted with - some even went out their way to have a conversation with us, very knowledgeable of the area and Island aswell.
- Pool area is really nice, pool itself is fresh water and really refreshing, plenty of sunbeds avaliable (negatives come later).
- Food we had on site was nice no complaints.
- 24 hour reception - come and goes as please don't need worry about getting locked out or anything. Please note that someone isn't always at reception but staff in bar area.
- Large balcony with furniture.
- Good size rooms
- Daily bin change (not on Sunday)
- Fresh towels Daily. (Again not on Sundays)
- Good Size Fridge in Kitchen, Kettle and small cooker thing (didn't use) Washing liquid and sponge provided.
- Shower was good had no issue with water pressure or anything- this is something we have had issues with previously when stayed in Greece, please note advert picture show what appears tobe a bath but it's not a bath more of a very deep shower tray. You could probably use it as small bath for kids - if it had a drain plug.
Now onto the not so good points
- Our apartment was at the top of the staircase - couldn't be noiser if tried - could hear everyone coming and going and the bar downstairs, We considered asking to move room but stuck with the devil we knew and the fact we had already unpacked and settled in.
- Rooms are dated and run down - need some filler and a lick of paint at the very least - and a deep clean.
- Shutters broken and warped.
- Rooms felt cold and dark, small details where not considered - mirror in bedroom and bathroom were dirty aswell as marks on doors and light switches on arrival and stayed that way whole holiday as no one came and cleaned.
- Beds so uncomfortable (for us anyway)
- Really firm pillows (great if that's what you like)
- Lounge is not a lounge its a second bedroom really, the sofas are just beds with different shape pillows - open to the kitchen, even though has separate door. (We never used this room other than to store our suitcase and dirty washing) - this is not a negative more of an observation.
- TV not worth having pointless advertising saying even has TV - 2 channels - one news and one radio.
- Faulty plug sockets and lack of them within the apartment. We was lucky that we packed a dual plug to give us more power points.
- Rooms where not swept or cleaned over - no broom in room todo yourself.
- Bed were not changed during the week or given fresh sheets(blanket). ( this was something we overlooked and didn't bother us too much) but again just an obersavation.
- Pool area too small for number of people, have to get up early to save a space - this is not something we like doing but after speaking to a lovely staff member she sort of told us it's the only way - in sense she said if you can't beat them join them. People had towels on beds from 8am but didn't come to them till like 1pm once they had been out for the morning. Few of the day we got our towels down by 9am but then went back to room, had breakfast freshen up and was back down by 10/10.30 and once we had enough, we cleared our stuff away, alot of people left their stuff and went away for a few hours - for lunch im guessing then came back to their towels, ( I don't blame them). Your not allowed loungers on the grass area (which we total understood) so restrict where you can put loungers - your all tightly squeezed together (great for making friends) as we went towards end of season the hotel wasn't overly busy but I can imagine it's quite a nightmare peak season.
- Aircon is not included in price of accommodation. (We opted not to have we read it was €7 a night) I'd say it's a must in the warmer months, we managed without.
- Mosquito Heaven (not hotels fault but a holiday negative)
Overall a really nice holiday throughly enjoyed Ipsos and the sun but sadly the accommodation on this occasion was just not up there as being one we would return to, purely just based on the cleanisest of the rooms and housekeeping. We made the best out of what was on offer and as a base for the week, we made do but glad to get back to our beds for sure.
We read a note at reception that stated they were closing for the season from 5th October - this was 2 days after we checked out. We did question if it being the last week of the season meant that standard of cleanisness had dropped, the rooms need a good revamps, the outside and pool area are well kept and nice - doesn't match the interior.
P.S Be sure to bring really good bug spray or a good plug in, we was bitten so badly even though we had planned ahead we learnt the hard way we didnt plan well enough.
- jensonl649 (6/5): A pleasant stay - We stayed here 22nd Sep - 29th Sep. Overall the staff couldn’t have been any friendlier and were always happy to help.
ROOMS;
- The rooms are basic and dated, could do with a little modernising. However, they are very spacious. All rooms include a breakfast/kitchen area alongside a separate room with sofas which can also be used for beds.
- We were lucky enough to have been given a pool view (pictures included) which provided a spectacular view of the surrounding area.
- There is however a lack of plug sockets in the rooms.
- The balcony doors are dated and could do with replacing as when trying to open/close them they make a loud bang each time.
POOL;
- The pool area is quite small and doesn’t provide much room for sun-beds. People tried to put additional ones on the grass area, but were told they were unable to by a staff member.
- The breakfast/eating area outside around the pool is also quite limited.
POOL BAR / FOOD;
- On our first day we decided to all get some food from the pool bar. After about half an hour of eating a burger, I couldn’t get off the toilet. I was instantly put off from eating anything like that from there again as I didn’t want to make myself ill.
BREAKFAST;
- Breakfast I was highly disappointed with. We had paid for bed and breakfast and on our first morning we were given the menu for included breakfast. The choices are extremely limited and as I stated before I was disappointed.
- On the other hand, they do have a separate menu which provides more of a breakfast selection such as full English and continental. However, this of course needs to be paid for.
STAFF;
- The staff couldn’t have been any more helpful, especially the manager. We had a late evening flight and asked if we could keep our room on. The morning we checked out, we were given another room, FREE of charge until we needed to leave for the airport. So, for that, we thank you dearly.
Overall we had such a fantastic stay
- 439rebecca1 (2/5): WORST HOTEL DO NOT GO! - Rudest staff I have ever met
Disrespectful
Rooms are shocking
Single beds no doubles
Faulty dangerous plug sockets
Bath the size for a 5 year old
Smells
Food disgusting got food poisoning
Old tvs with one channel
Old tashioned doors to balcony that bang everytime you open and close
Air con not free rip off 7euros a day for old air con units
Filthy kitchen area and utensils
Mosquito heaven
Dumbwaiter lifts in rooms two in each apartment very unsafe and not locked
Overall worst hotel I have ever stayed in in my whole life. Do not book. This hotel seriously gives love holidays a bad name
- MikeH42 (10/5): Fantastic week - Had a fantastic week here at Annaliza I was in the apartment over the road— Spiros rooms my stay was perfect I was in Corfu to see my old friends from 38 years ago staff the best ever I am a bit biased and had many laughs with staff and others I meet staying their regards Mike (Μιχαήλ) as speak Greek
- NickyBux (6/5): The good and the bad - There's good and bad. Dated rooms, TV not worth having (Euro news and a Greek radio station), 7 euros per night for air-conditioning, not enough room round the pool and we had to check out of the room by 10 am on departure day despite not being picked up until night time. There was no provision for late departure. Also the sofas are actually beds with pyramid shaped cushions and not comfy. On the plus side it was clean and the staff were nice. Lovely pool. Massive balcony. WiFi was restricted to public areas but we were lucky enough to be able to connect from our room.
- FrequentFlier802727 (10/5): An absolute Gem..Loved it! - I stayed at the Annaliza from the 4th to the 14th June in a one bedroom ground floor apartment.
This little complex is an absolute gem and I loved every minute of my stay. As a solo traveller I was a little apprehensive but I needn’t have worried, as the staff made me feel very welcome. They are all very friendly and hospitable and go out of their way to meet your needs.
The entire place is spotlessly clean and I had fresh towels nearly every day and the bins are emptied daily too.
The pool and surrounding area are immaculate and the pool temp is perfect.
There’s also a lovely pool bar, serving drinks and snacks.
If you want a nice relaxing holiday to just chill out, meet like-minded people and enjoy the ambience then the Annaliza is perfect.
The location is good.. just a short walk to the sea front where there are many superb restaurants and bars.
Don’t listen to the bad reviews.. the ones who wrote them probably should have gone to Kavos!
I will definitely go back.
Thank you Manos and your wonderful team.
- MARTACC2024 (10/5): HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! - I was lucky to enjoy a quiet and lovely week at Annaliza Aparthotel.
I travelled on my own, and I always felt safe.
All staff are very friendly, helpful and welcoming always happy to chat... they even tried to teach me a little bit of greek ;)
What was really lovely to see was the amount of returning customers arriving and being treated as family.
The hotel is very close to the beach front where most shops, supermarkets and restaurants and bars are. Also, there is a bus stop nearby.
The apartment I stayed in was the best 😊!
Very clean and comfortable. The kitchen has a cooker, a small oven, a fridge and a kettle which was more than enough just for breakfast, I went out every night for dinner and the kitchen at the bar by the pool is open all day and not expensive, good sandwiches, burgers… And also there are lots of books you can borrow if you forget to take one ! 😉
Overall, I had a great time and loved my stay at Annaliza Apartments. And thank all the staff for making me feel so welcome😊
I will definitely go back.
- Alun57 (10/5): Fabulous place - We loved this place, we knew we would arrive after midnight so emailed the Annaliza no problem they have 24 hour reception, which they did. We were greeted with a very warm welcome and immediately taken to our spacious apartment. There is parking a very large parking space behind the apartments. It was SPOTLESS, the staff were friendly and helpful, can't remember how often our towels and sheets were changed, lovely pool area, so close to good shops, supermarkets bars and restaurants. Close to the bus stop (€5 all day pass paid on the bus, use it as a drop off hop on) we loved this place and would definitely go back.
- 802justinef (10/5): 100% Amazing - The staff went above and beyond after first day flood in bathroom. No issues whatever. Will definitely go again. The rooms were a little dated but didnt bother us as enjoyed the pool and grounds.
Beginning of sept weather was fantastic and a nice cool loby with comfortable sofa to chill
- NorthStar36844961718 (2/5): Outdated damaged rooms and 90% the staff very rude - To cut this sweet and short. 90% of staff have awful attitude, rooms are dated, got charged for a dirty towel. Broken cracked sink held together with cardboard ??
The maids, young boy on reception and the gentleman on the bar were the only staff who gave us good customer service.
This is the 2nd time I’ve been here as it’s cheap and cheerful but gone downhill very much. Clean rooms, nice pool and outdoor areas.
- Jan Berg (10/5): Super oplevelse og meget for pengene - Lille hotel, venligt personale, som kun vil sine gæster det bedste..
- Tania (6/5): Very mediocre. Fairly handy location though. - The rooms were pretty shabby. I can't imagine actually cooking in the kitchen, as it was rather dirty and the cooker looked extremely decrepit. Much of the grass was waterlogged and full of mud outside. Having said that, the pool was pretty nice. The staff running the bar/cafe were friendly, and the breakfast is pretty good. Make sure to get a room on the 1st floor facing the pool, apparently the other rooms have yucky views. Also, they say they have A/C, but in our room it was only in the bedroom - bad news for the family members sleeping in the beds set up in the living room. Also, you have to pay extra for it.
- Verified traveler (6/5): we stayed here in august /14. - It was home from home . Lovely location, staff were so friendly and helpful.Accomodation was spatial and comfortable, very clean. We would like to make special mention of Claire and Melanie who made our stay so perfect.
- Tim (8/5): What it says on the tin - Friendly and clean.
Good pool.
Nice breakfasts.
Good happy hours.
Good value
- jo (6/5): Very tired hotel but 2 mins to beach - The hotel staff were wonderful & the cleaners were so lovely & helpful. The sheets are only changed once a week & you have to pay extra for aircon. There is a smell that comes over the whole hotel at about 2pm for about an hour every day. Drains? Not pleasant. Nice area around the pool & good bar for snacks etc run by the most lovely staff.
On the whole it was a pleasure to stay due to the staff however the rooms are very dated & the beds uncomfortable (only one cushion). The kitchen is tiny & it is not fully equipped. You'd be hard pressed to cook more than boiled eggs!
