- Long (5/5): Not really happy - The location, most of the staff were friendly and very helpful. I liked that they did social activities. I liked that they offered breakfast and dinner. The woman that booked us in was not very friendly, we were informed via email the staff would be happy to assist us with our bags, she was not and begrudgingly did assist. The place is in need of a freshen up and at first sight looked very tacky and dirty. The staff were observed cleaning and sweeping the floor as well as cleaning the kitchen often I felt a vacuum was really needed. We didn't shower until we worked out when the cleaners did the bathrooms and jumped in then. It was mainly the floor, no mats. The rooms were tiny nowhere to put you belongs. Basically room for a bed.

Minimalist, safe, healthy food, kindest staff, really wonderful, non pretentious location. This establishment isn’t to blame for the homeless endemic. They are a true gem amongst everything. There’s a lot to do. I felt safe snd well rested. The environment is none discriminatory and people from all walks of life are welcomed. I got worst service at a 4.5 star resort downtown prior to finding this location. Functional space and super organized. I absolutely loved it and would stay there again. I wish there was a monthly rate. I loved everything about it. For the price it’s great.

- Arne John (3/5): disappointing - breakfast was good, bed bugs not so good. I stayed 2 nights. I went home oovered in small red bites to my face, neck, hands, arms, shoulders and legs. Any areas not covered with clothing received bites from an insect. My doctor back in Courtenay told me these were not mosquito bites, but were 100% Bed Bug bites, as he had seen them several times. I was SHOCKED AND DISAPPOINTED THAT in 2026 in our Capitol City, we would have such an egregious problem.

La struttura non appariva pulita e non mi è stato permesso di visionare la stanza. Soprattutto, non mi sono sentita al sicuro né all’interno della struttura né nella zona circostante. Erano presenti avvisi che invitavano a non far entrare estranei, cosa che non mi ha dato alcuna fiducia nella sicurezza del luogo. Consiglio di informarvi molto bene sulla zona e sul posto prima di prenotare, per avere un quadro più realistico. Per questi motivi ho deciso di andarmene immediatamente e prenotare un’altra sistemazione a mie spese. (sono stata molto diplomatica nella descrizione)

La cuisine n'est pas nickel et il faut tout relaver avant de pouvoir utiliser les ustensiles. Il n'y a pas de clim dans les chambres, mal aérées, et l'atmosphère est étouffante.

Me gusto mucho el ambiente de viajero de ahí! Aunque recomiendo tapones para los oídos porque está al lado de calles concurridas, pero aún así super contento! Repetiría 100%!!

- Deanna (9/5): Location, value for the $, kind staff and guests. - Central location, great value for private room, included 24h coffee / tea bar, Mediterranean breakfast, and dinner with beverages (beer, wine etc). Location was secure, staff friendly and helpful. Locked up my bag and explored until check-in. Bought laundry token for on-site machines, which was convenient. Shared bathroom was always stocked, cleaned by staff, and kept tidy from neighbouring guest use. Vending machine snacks are convenient on the 2nd floor. Explored Victoria on foot and using BC transit easily due to this great location near city hall, shops & services along Douglas St all the way to beautiful Beacon Hill Park, the inner harbour, Government St promenade and Chinatown.

Simple but good. Good beer selection.. And a happy hour. Kitchen was really big with lots of sinks and composting and equipment. Stainless steel made it feel clean. Dark, old everything. Lumpy bed.

- Brook (2/5): Lovely staff (with one exception), unsafe setting - The check-in staff were welcoming and friendly. Clean simple room. The location itself is located in an unsafe section of Victoria. Although They state that they have 24/7 surveillance, surveillance does not stop inappropriate or threatening interactions. It is not safe in the evening and even a bit risky during the day. A stressed staff was short tempered to guests who were quietly and respectfully waiting for dinner service. I did not utilize the room, or eat a meal and checked out within two hours of arrival after several unsettling encounters all related to safety and respect.

- Ruiz Pinto (9/5): Good, nice, and cheap - Great atmosphere, the included dinner and breakfast were delicious. The host, Yannick, is a sweetheart and made me feel right at home. I think the bathrooms could be cleaned more regularly and the mattresses on the beds could be improved.

- Laura (10/5): Stayed only one night but it was a cool place to experience. - Loved the location in the city. I had a room on the top floor (no elevator) with a shared bathroom. Building kept to original state as best as possible (bathroom had an old style lock, it was really cool to see) Places to sit on every landing up the stairs. Secured gate on landing into the rooms. Cute rooms for a single person (or possible couple) Great atmosphere Breakfast available but I did not partake in. Friendly and helpful staff! Maybe a chair inside the single rooms? I had to sit on my bed or go out into the stairwell for the chair on the landing. Don't crank the heat in the rooms with their own heaters. It took me a really long time to slightly reduce the amount of heat in my room.

- 奕珊 (5/5): 整體旅客的水平比較沒那麼高（相較於其他的青旅）然後設施也很老舊，安全感很低，女生獨自旅行我覺得要再考慮一下… - 床很堅固？唯一的優點哈哈 環境老舊（從房間到廁所到公共區域都有一種破舊感）所有都是鑰匙鎖，金屬得任何東西（床、門把、鎖）摸過都有鐵鏽味。房間地板也不太乾淨，廁所有點味道

And maybe a thicker blanket..... still very petty

- Heather (4/5): Good location for price but be aware of area and dated interior - Convenient location to explore city, lowest cost accommodation in Victoria for being in a central location. Shower was powerful and hot. Private room had coat hooks, fridge and shelves. They offer free breakfast and dinner which is good if you're travelling on a budget but I didn't eat these so can't comment on quality. Very old and dated interior, room was tiny which was fine as I was on my own but not much room for luggage storage, glad I got a private room as others have said the dorms are cramped. They seem to have a lot of long term guest, a lot of older people and also heard children in the hallways during my stay. A good location for exploring the city but definitely not a backpacker hostel and not a social place to meet younger travellers if that's what you're looking for. There are a huge amount of homeless people around the area and on the streets in front of and surrounding the building, my room faced on to a car park at the back where homeless people congregated and I could hear them shouting at night as the soundproofing isn't great due to the building being old. I understand the hostel can't do anything about this, but just to make people aware as it's a culture shock seeing this level of homelessness and open drug use in public and as a young, solo female traveller it's probably one of the most unsafe feeling areas I have stayed in having visited 15+ countries. There are locks and safety chains on the bedroom doors and a locked wire/cage door at the top of the stairs to get to the rooms which I guess makes it feel safer, but does also make you question why they need this. The mattress on the bed was quite thin and could feel the springs through it, also the sheet had a few hairs and bits of dust on underneath the top cover. Only spoke to one staff member during my stay, she was fine but when I asked if I could extend my stay she said the room was booked and I should check elsewhere, didn't let me know if they had any other rooms or beds available so I took it as a sign to leave when I originally intended with all things considered.
