Guest Reviews

- JEAN CLAUDE (9/5): -
- Laura (8/5): - The location, restaurant on site, friendliness of staff, shower The rooms are not soundproof. You can hear the guests in other rooms, especially in our room next to the stairs.
- Lilian (7/5): It’s in a good location and within easy access of shops, cafes, restaurants. - All staff were so friendly and helpful. It also was a good location. The basic room was small but ok. Small with inadequate lighting. The door wouldn’t always lock.
- tilastrinity (6/5): Super thin walls... And please review the payment process. - Stayed with family for one night. Beds were 2 doubles, which still seemed very small, a little too cozy for 2 adults. I kept bashing my legs on the frame corner every time I got up, bed frames that are bigger than the mattresses are just terrible. I have bruises lol. Pillows n blankets were nice, but the mattress was very firm.
The bathroom is lovely, the shower is huge and while water pressure was low, it's one of those rain style showerheads so there's tons of water so that balances out.
The extras like the bath robes, naspresso machine with free coffee, creamer and water jug are nice touches.
Room is a decent size, super clean and big tv, fridge and microwave.
Walls and ceilings are where the building shows it's age. From 2-3am there was a couple we could clearly hear uhm... Enjoying the room? Yeah. Then they were talking n stomping for hpurs. That made it impossible to sleep.
Front desk clerk was very polite and courteous. Sadly, how they handled the transaction was not cool. Charging us room and deposit was totally fine. However, refunding that whole bill then charging out just the room was not. Since they said it could take 3-5 business days for the refund to process, they essentially took a temporary double payment. Money we needed for travel. I don't understand why they couldn't just refund the damage deposit? I'd rather be out $100 than $350.
So for the sketchy refund, and getting no sleep because of the noise, I have to dock my score. Sorry.

- Sylvia (8/5): Great stay, but rooms a bit small and downtown is noisy - Convenient location, nice restaurant in the first floor, helpful staff, good amenities in the room The rooms were a bit small, and the street outside was noisy even late at night
- BARBARA HARU (7/5): Great downtown location! Walk to restaurants & shops; Know that it's an older hotel. - The location was perfect! The staff were very attentive and prompt handling any issues or concerns we had. Our bed was very comfortable. Despite the room's tight spaces, it served our needs during our stay. There was no breakfast provided. The room (#204) is small; specifically, the bathroom's space is very tight with the toilet at the bathroom door.
The restaurant was closed during our short stay. Apparently, a water pipe burst the previous week due to the extreme weather conditions.
On our last night's stay we had to wake up @5:00AM to take the free shuttle to the airport for our flight. There was construction still going on in the restaurant, which was directly below our room, and the noise went on until 11:00PM (on a Tuesday night). Added to this noise, our neighbouring room's noise was very loud until almost midnight (12:00AM)!
After notifying/phoning the front desk reception to complain about the noises, they were prompt in handling the matters.
- Anna (9/5): - Great base/starting point for road trip. Cosy, warm room. Lovely art on walls. Room was quite small - but price was good so not a problem.
- Katherine (10/5): The most exceptional decor and beautiful soon I’ve stayed in a long time. - I appreciate that the exterior stayed true to its original construction but the interior was gorgeous and classy.
- georgelV6043VE (10/5): Hot Water, Warm People, and Yukon Charm - The Edgewater is all it says — and more. The rooms look just like the photos — fresh, stylish, and spotless. The staff are generous, friendly, and genuinely helpful. The water? Let’s just say it’s the hottest in the Yukon. They must have a boiler downstairs!
Loved the photos in the stairwell showing the history of the region — a mini museum moment on your way to the foyer. Location couldn’t be better: at the Yukon River and boardwalk, right on the corner of Front and Main Streets.
There is a wonderful bakery and coffee shop literally across the street.
Yes, you might hear a bit of Main Street’s nightlife through the walls, but that’s just the Yukon reminding you you’re not in a chain hotel.
A small boutique hotel that punches above its weight — cozy, classy, and full of character.
- Sydney (8/5): - Location was in the middle of the city, which is good that it is close to many things, but also meant that parking was just street parking. The lotion contained paraffinum liquidum (mineral oil) which is not very biodegradeable.
- Kyle (10/5): Excellent stay - Very clean, staff were very nice and accommodating. I appreciated the Brita of water on the nightstand and a good, clean microwave. The rooms are nicely modern and I appreciate the abundance of easily available electrical outlets...it's the little things.
- Kyla (8/5): Nice stay downtown - Great location. Nicely updated rooms
- Friedhelm (10/5): Man übernachtet in einem Standard-Hotel mit ausgezeichnetem Service. - Das Personal war ausgesprochen hilfsbereit.
- John (8/5): - The front desk staff is outstanding. Always friendly and accommodating. The rooms are always clean and beds are comfortable. They have an Nexpresso in your room and nice added touch of real cream in the fridge so you can have a nice coffee in the morning.
- Adrian (8/5): - Whitehorse is beautiful, weather wasn't perfect, but one day it was so nice that we experienced northern lights outside the hotel.
- Stephanie (6/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): - All good
- Thomas (10/5): - Clean, quiet and comfortable. Allowed my dog and was a good place to stop traveling the ALCAN.
- Laurie (8/5): - Room was nice, walk in shower, ate at the restaurant there. Food was great, as was the service. Location was fantastic, across street from promenade of the yukon river. 5 stars if we hadnt mistakenly gotten a call for a shuttle at 5:30......
- Debbie (10/5): - Upon arrival I knew we were going to have a good night. This is a high end hotel like they used to have. Very modern and well maintained.i asked for a main floor room and they honored my request! The staff were kind and helpful during our whole stay. We loved being able to walk across the street to the coffee shop and the toy shop was so much fun! Thank you for making our stay enjoyable!
- Harmon (10/5): - Clean room, helpful staff
- nanny222 (10/5): Lovely Hotel - My daughter and I spent a week at this lovely hotel. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. It didn't bother us that the hotel didn't have an elevator. The staff helped us bring our luggage to our room. The room was nice and the staff always did a great job cleaning it. I loved the hotel toiletries, nice soft vanilla scent. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The location was perfect, within walking distance to shopping, restaurants and tourist attractions. We had a view of the Yukon River and we even had an amazing show of the northern lights on the pathway across the street.
- Katrina (10/5): - The rooms are spotless. The hotel is quiet and convenient. The staff is readily available to help and welcome you. They always have a shuttle available at the airport to take you to the hotel
- Joe (10/5): Great play to stay in Whitehorse. - Great location. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. rooms were clean and well supplied. Would recommend.
- Adam (10/5): Nice hotel in good location - Nice hotel for the night i was there. Staff was helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again.
- Jeffrey (8/5): - The rooms are modern looking and recently completely renovated. They're not large but are comfortable and have great amenities. The stairways are narrow for carrying luggage but staff offered to assist. Airport shuttle was welcomed. The cost is bit expensive but typical of the high cost for hotels in Whitehorse.
- Kelsey (10/5): - Friendly staff
- 942judithw (8/5): Mainly great stay - Lovely hotel, nice room with late checkout. No lift though so struggled with bags. Also a LOT of overhead noise in the early hours both nights as guests prepared to leave early. Good restaurant and a small car park out back which was handy. Overall pretty good though.
- Henry (6/5): - Pet friendly was great. No parking available for bigger rigs or moving vans. No elevators for upper floors
- Vanessa (7/5): I would stay again but request a room elsewhere - Beds were very comfortable. Rooms were clean. Our room was by the back door and people would let it slam. It would shake the headboard at times and interfere with restful sleep.
- John (8/5): Always great - Clean room/ good amenities/Helpful staff
- Jacquie (10/5): - Room was fine for a one night stay. The restaurant, Belly of the Bison was fabulous! The staff were friendly and very accomodating. The food was absolutely delicious!!
- Hazel (10/5): - Good stay. Air conditioner was really cold, not sure if it was working properly, but otherwise a good experience.
- Melissa (10/5): If ever I return to Whitehorse, im staying here everytime!!! - EVERYTHING! Location was amazing. The toiletries were amazing! Loved that there was a Britta water filter, definitely used that for my water intake! The mini fridge kept my drinks cold and my ice packs frozen. The Shower divine, great water pressure and shower head! No complaints
- Bryan (10/5): - Excellent property, excellent dining! Definitely a highlight of our Whitehorse stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Rooms and Service - Had a great one night stay. The hotel is smaller and quiet. The restaurant has amazing food as well as a a nice view. Very kind helpful staff at both the hotel and restaurant. Appreciated having a brita filter and kettle in the room.
- Brenda (10/5): - Nice
- Reid (10/5): - it is very nice passing through Canada , has a very bar & restaurant. very friendly staff, laundry service, working cold A/C , very very clean, and comfy the only downside is there is no elevator but it is worth your while, if you choose to park in the front its free parking until 8am, and there is a tight space in the back right behind the building free parking . overall we would give 20/10 rating. will certainly be back.
- lydia (5/5): - The room was very noisy, no soundproofing. A shame because the stay would have been perfect otherwise
- Kenneth (10/5): - The front desk staff were really nice. Great location.
- Melissa (10/5): - Room was clean and comfortable.
- Philippa (7/5): -
- Marilyn (10/5): - The Interior of the hotel is exceptional
- Alberto (5/5): There are other options in Whitehorse for half the price and similar facilities. - Location is excellent. The price is way too high for what it offers.
- Mark (6/5): I - Almost no parking, 7 spaces for compact cards.(street paid parking available). Restaurant at the property not allowed dogs on the “patio” (metal chairs and flimsy table on side of the road) even though nobody else was there. Right under our windows was loud music party till 2am!
On the bright side: rooms were clean and renovated. Nespresso coffee and water filter at the room. Nice walk in shower.
- Karri (8/5): - View of rooftops was not excellent. Parking was limited and really tight.
Staff was amazing, friendly, helpful, accommodating.
- Silvan (9/5): - Sauberes Zimmer, freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal, Gratis Flughafen Shuttle Badezimmer ist klein
- John (8/5): Always great - The Edgewater is a very well-maintained hotel on the main street. It’s close to everything. One of the best coffee shops you’ll ever experience is right across the street.
- elizabeth (10/5): - Front desk staff were very helpful in getting my cooler fullpf ivc for the journey to Inuvik
The restaurant food was amazing
Liz
- Dr. Robert (8/5): - Ideale Lage, freundliches Personal, Sauberkeit, grosse Zimmer, Kaffeebar ab 06:00, gratis Shuttle zum Flughafen Einrichtung kommt langsam etwas in die Jahre
Checkin ohne Mehrkosten erst ab 14:30 möglich
- Jaromir (10/5): - Perfect hotel
- stephen s (10/5): - Clean modern room
- Paul (8/5): - Property is clean and staff friendly. A bit noisy over the weekend due to the bar located next door. But that was not the fault of the Edgewater. Would recommend.
- Hayes (8/5): -
- Ryan (10/5): - No elevator, but the air-conditioning was great and the staff was friendly and helpful. It was right next to the river.
- Claudia (9/5): Superb - Great for a single night in Whitehorse. Good restaurant and vibe in the area. The curtains would allow some of the long summer daylight into the room. The AC was very noisy to have it on all night.
- Shawn (6/5): - Cleanliness of rooms and friendliness of staff helped make up for thin walls and tiny rooms.
- Rhonda (8/5): - Great!
- Craig (6/5): No elevator. get a room on the first floor. - The staff was awesome. One even moved his personal car so I could park my huge uhaul. The parking situation is inadequate even for standard vehicles and there is no elevator and even though the staff helped carry 2 things up to my room, we had to carry a lot of stuff up and down to the third floor.
- Mccarthy (10/5): Exceptional - The location by the river and downtown Whitehorse. Lack of a breakfast bar. Coffee in the room was too strong.
- Inara (10/5): - The hotel has an excellent location, and both the room and bathroom were very clean. The staff was friendly. However, I have a couple of comments: there isn't enough parking available for guests, so you have to find a spot around the hotel. Fortunately, parking is free from 6 PM to 8 AM. Additionally, the soundproofing could be improved; our rooms was on the first floor, and we could hear everything happening above us. Overall, we really like the hotel
- Foteini (9/5): Superb -
- cool_alaska (10/5): Amazing place! - Absolutely amazing hotel! The best in the entire Whitehorse! We loved everything about it: the rooms, the service, the location. The people at the hotel were wonderful and very helpful in everything. The only disappointment was that we stayed there one night only. We love Whitehorse, so we will be back, and will stay in this hotel again.
- Brian (8/5): - Small room no elevator had to haul luggage upstairs. Friendly staff. No parking
- Debra (10/5): - The only thing that was a little stressful was parking.
- Suzanne (10/5): - Loved: Dog friendly, excellent location, Nespresso coffee maker, rain shower head, comfy bed and squishy pillows.
- Joseph (8/5): - The staff were friendly and the room was very clean.
- Roger (10/5): - Great location across the street from White Pass train tour office. Centrally located. Clean. Restaurant/bar connected which is convenient
- Shaikh (7/5): Good -
- David (10/5): - Easy check in. Convenient parking. And such a quiet hotel. Almost felt like we were the only guests!
- Travis (6/5): Pleasant -
- Robin (9/5): Just fine. Modernized rooms, comfortable beds, clean and beautifully located near the river. The restaurant and bar were - Location, cleanliness, great showers, air conditioning. Well appointed. No breakfast?
- Grace (10/5): - Everyone was so nice! We loved how clean the property was and the amenities that were provided! The complimentary Nespresso and the Brita filter added to the level of luxury. We would highly recommend to everyone looking to stay in WhiteHorse!
- WONIL (10/5): - Kind staffs and comfortable place for family
- Candice (10/5): - Great stay!
- Ashley (10/5): Top notch - We will stay here every time we are in Whitehorse. I love the location! It’s right by the Yukon, there’s a wonderful walking path to a park for my children, there are so many food options nearby, and the hotel itself is very clean and comfortable.
The restaurant inside the hotel is very delicious as well. Highly recommend!
- ibrahim khalil (10/5): - Friendly staff, rooms are clean and located in downtown Whitehorse
- Judea (10/5): - Beautiful property and clean, comfortable room/ bed. Only issue was the inability to adjust/ turn off the ac unit… had to resort to unplugging. Also, quite noisy from outside revellers as we stayed on a weekend. To be expected I suppose.
- Daphne (10/5): Would definitely stay here again. - Great location on river and downtown. It’s within walking distance to most attractions Clean comfortable rooms and very friendly, helpful staff. All was good.
- Kimberly (10/5): - Nice hotel. Rooms were a bit tight but we made it work. It was in a convenient area downtown.

- Sydney (8/5): Very good -

The room was clean and comfy.
- Ines (10/5): - Loved it
