- BrianJB1964 (10/5): Beautiful Inn in a snowy Paradise - Everything was snowy and beautiful. Cute little Commons, like a postcard. We stayed a Monday and Tuesday in February. There's not much to do in Lyme the. No restaurants are open. But, Hanover is an easy and beautiful 20 minute drive away. The Inn was beautiful and comfortable. Our room recently remodeled and had a gas fireplace. Everything was clean. The hosts we met were friendly and top notch. The continental breakfast was freshly made and very good. We would definitely stay here again.

Great staff, great restaurant Ariana’s and great atmosphere! And the bartender Kate made us two surprise mocktails which were delicious .. thanks to all at The Lyme Inn!!

- T5025ORhannahw (10/5): Best place to stay for a New England fall! - The Lyme Inn is a beautiful place to stay in a beautiful town. All the staff are friendly and truly care about your experience. Hillary made an AMAZING breakfast every morning that was included with our stay. The pastries were SO GOOD! Our room was large and beautiful with a fridge, fireplace, microwave, water, electric tea kettle...the list goes on, but everything we could possibly need to be comfortable! The room was very clean and spacious and decorated so beautifully! The lobby, grounds and each room are so charming! Arianna's, the restaurant in the Inn was open and very busy. Food was so excellent and staff was so accommodating and friendly. The Inn is also dog friendly, which I know can be hard to find. Another cool aspect of the stay was the beautiful marble bathrooms and tub in our room. Truly an amazing stay! Can't wait to stay again!
- robertcV1249OI (10/5): This hidden gem in lovely little Lyme deserves more recognition. - We discovered this gem in a picturesque little town 2 years ago and made a point to return. Our dog travels with us, so that was an important consideration. The innkeeper and staff are helpful and very friendly. The rooms are lovely. There is also an elevator. Breakfast in the sun room was delicious. The evening restaurant, Ariana, is a separate entity and is outstanding. Just be aware, the restaurant is only open on certain days of the week. There are 2 excellent alternatives within a stone’s throw, but they are also closed some days. The Lyme Country Store, though, provides excellent sandwiches and other goodies. In summary, we are truly perplexed that this beautiful inn has not hit some “preferred” travel lists. It’s very deserving.

- 912KRZ (10/5): Lovely Inn in beautiful Lyme, NH - We recently enjoyed 4 nights at The Lyme Inn. We enjoyed our experience. We stayed in the Dartmouth Suite which has a kind bed and large seating area. Bath room had Carrrera marble, large tub and shower. Our room also had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Breakfast in included each morning and they have coffee and delicious chocolate chip cookies in the lobby. The staff are incredibly helpful and very friendly. No cell service in Lyme but the complimentary WiFi works well. The Inn is on the green in Lyme which is picturesque. The Lyme Historic House, Church, art gallery and Big Rock easy hiking trail are walking distance. Ideal to have a car to enjoy other trail heads, farms and local attractions that are within 10 miles. We went to Hanover one day but mostly stayed close to the Inn. Our was quiet and very comfortable . We had a gas fireplace which was cozy. The gardener does an amazing job. Due to frost danger she covered plants each night. Gardens have Adirondack chairs and umbrellas scattered across the lawn and patio. Well done team!!
- Vanessa (10/5): - This was our favorite stay for our 7-day New England trip! After a hectic day exploring Vermont towns with thousands of other tourists, it was a breath of fresh air to pull into peaceful Lyme. The inn is well appointed with gorgeous gardens and sitting areas. Comfortable rooms with tasteful decor. Easy parking. The onsite restaurant is wonderful! We didn’t know to make a reservation but they offered to seat us at the bar. We got lucky and a cancellation came through, so we had a leisurely meal in the sunroom with a very kind and helpful server. There’s not much to do outside the inn, but we enjoyed strolling by the historic horse stables and down the main road after dinner. Would absolutely stay again, and next time, we’ll remember to reserve a table for dinner!

- EATeach (4/5): Breakfast included***but not before 8 AM*** - One star for Ariana's restaurant, one star for proximity to summer camps in the area, but that's about it. Lyme Inn advertises a delicious breakfast as part of your room price, which is one of the reasons we stayed there-very limited options around offer a morning meal, so it's nice to have it on the property. However, with an 8 AM breakfast start, early risers are out of luck at accessing the breakfast included with their stay. We had to be at our child's camp at 8 AM, so needed to leave the Inn by 7:30. When I inquired about some sort of pre-packaged food for those of us that needed to leave before 8, the disengaged person at the desk informed me there is "sometimes some food out before 8, but don't count on it." No alternative was offered. We ended up going down the street to the Italian market where we purchased day-old pastries to have the next day. I followed up with the owner of the inn-Jack Elliott-to express my disappointment. Not only did he not want to "right the wrong," he told me I should have asked for a "to go bag" and "we likely made food for you that you weren't there to eat so we had to throw it out and it went to waste." It's truly bold to be shamed by a proprietor when you're asking them to help correct a situation that went wrong. Save your money and pick another location. A business like this won't last with unfriendly people like this running it. We will be back to the area annually for camp drop off and will not stay here again.

- moniquedT755IE (10/5): Adorable quintessential Inn tucked among beautiful flowers and plants! - Beautiful, quintessential Inn! Our stay was warm and welcomed and accommodated every step of the way by the friendly staff. The free breakfast was so much more than your typical continental.. with fresh eggs and bacon, strong coffee, blueberry cobbler, fresh scones, etc etc. We even grabbed a fresh chocolate chip cookie from the counter on our way back from our hike. Beautiful, clean room, marble bathroom, and antique furniture. The grounds were also adorable with Adirondack seating areas, and bright blooming flowers and plants surrounding the property. We will definitely be back!

- Relax635710 (10/5): "Like a warm, comfy sweater" - When, upon checking out, I was talking to the owner, Jack, about how much we had enjoyed our stay, he said that the goal of The Lyme Inn is to feel to guests "like a warm, comfy sweater;" well maybe a sweater is not most apt metaphor at the height of July heat, but certainly the comfy part applies. The Inn is lovely with beautiful gardens and obvious attention to detail. And the restaurant, Ariana's, is first-rate. But the owner and staff are the very best part. Hillary, who prepares the breakfasts, is not only a terrific baker (I awakened to the aromas of her freshly-baked confections wafting up to our bedroom both mornings we were there), but also makes herself available to each guest at breakfast to see what she can do to add to the delicious experience. And Jack was a smiling presence every time we passed the front desk, interested in why we were visiting and happy to share information about the area. I highly recommend the Lyme Inn -- a truly delightful experience!

Be sure to take advantage of the continental breakfast, as it's among the best (and only) in the area. The rooms are luxurious, as are the bathrooms. Grounds are maintained absolutely beautifully - even the parking lot. If you're lucky enough to stay at the inn when Ariana's is open, get dinner there one night. It's exceptional as well.

The building and location are beautiful. Our room was lovely. The restaurant was top notch. Can't recommend it enough!
- syzygymfl (10/5): Great Place to get away - We stayed here for a reunion in Hanover. It is quiet, with a beautiful sitting room and nice breakfast porch, which you can also eat outside if the weather is right. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very tasty with some innovative ways of doing eggs. The front lawn is a nice place to sit and read. Two caveats: 1. There is an elevator that goes to three floors, but there are a few 4th floor rooms which required us to climb a staircase with our bags. Not a problem for us, but if it is for you specify something that is elevator accessible. 2. The town of Lyme has no cell service. The hotel has good wifi, but if you have apps that only work on the cell line, you will be out of luck. You pay in advance (at least on big weekends), so when you arrive there is an envelope with your name and key at the front desk.

The ambiance is lovely - historic & beautiful; the gardens are amazing; breakfast was a delightful assortment of items made on site. And the connected restaurant was excellent as well. Dinner at restaurant was fantastic I had salmon with risotto and asparagus which was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Wait staff checked on us and gave us great attention. Thank you Julie!!
- Renee (8/5): - Staff very nice and helpful. Country Market in walkable distance. No cell service in Lyme but thankfully wifi available at the Inn for wifi calling and laptop connectivity. Connectivity was spotty in my room but I found a couple better connectivity spots in or around the Inn to talk and work.
- 776edwarde (10/5): This is an elegant Inn with gourmet restaurant. - This is an elegant Inn with a gourmet restaurant, Ariana's. We spend four nights at the Lyme Inn and while we have been to other restaurants in the area, we had all four dinners at Ariana. The grounds of the Inn and its proximity to the Lyme Commons make for a very nice walking experience away from traffic. Service at the Inn and the restaurant is very thoughtful and prompt - an excellent experience.

We were fortunate at this time of the year to get a room change from the fourth floor to the third floor. Being an older couple we would have found going to the fourth floor to be difficult because of the stairs that run from the third floor, which is the top floor serviced by an elevator. Everything was extremely clean. The breakfast buffet had a good selection of pastries , with yogurt, bacon, and eggs cooked to order. We would have no hesitation in staying here again for another mini-vacation.

Right from sleeping in the Dartmouth Suite to the superb breakfasts created by Hilary both mornings. The public rooms and the Dartmouth were wonderfully decorated and furnished. This inn would be a perfect setting for a rom-com movie. It epitomizes everything one would want in an out-of-the-way New England village. Lastly, there is Jack Elliott, the proprietor, ever so helpful and friendly. He knows where to go and how to get there. Truly, an unforgettable and perfect stay.

- Navigate398874 (10/5): Perfect cozy comfy New England Inn! - The Lyme Inn has become our first choice for a tranquil and romantic getaway. It offers comfy rooms in a charming setting on sleepy New England village green that is just a few minutes off of the Interstate, so, easy to get to yet providing a feeling of being far away. It is big enough to meet our lodging needs for comfort and spaciousness while being really cozy at the same time. The innkeeper, Jack, is friendly while not intrusive. The included breakfast in the pleasant dining room includes yummy and varied muffins and pastries and, of course, local pure maple syrup. The staff is friendly and so has been every other guest we have chatted with on our multiple visits. Ariana's Restaurant, on the premises, offers an innovative dining experience blending country friendliness with urban sophistication. The Dartmouth Ski Way, a few minutes up the road, is a local hill that offer fun skiing for a day away from the crowds at the big resorts.
- Go03603676532 (10/5): Wonderful weekend getaway place - Lovely location in a protypical New England town. The Inn has a rustic feel but clean and luxurious inside. The breakfast is just what we needed and they made some changes to suit us. The personal touch is one of their many strengths. Attached is a restaurant which is one of the best in the area. Pricing of Inn and restaurant are reasonable.

My wife and I stayed in the Dartmouth Suite which was spacious, well appointed, and had a fireplace which was great to have on a cold weekend. We had dinner at Ariana's (located in the Inn) on Friday night which was fantastic. And we loved the excellent breakfast served each morning. Service was excellent throughout our stay. Thank you Jack and Team!

- Q953SMcaseyh (10/5): Amazing Stay at the Lyme Inn - My fiancé and I got engaged here last year. We booked a trip this December for his birthday and to celebrate our one-year engagement. The Lyme Inn never disappoints! The staff surprised us with a room upgrade and we had nothing but the best service the whole time we were there. The rooms are also so cozy and the perfect New England getaway. We will definitely keep coming back!

Lyme is a very small town, and this was an ideal place to get a good night's sleep. The only reason I didn't give it a maximum rating is because the restaurant they have was closed the evening we got in. The room was a bit pricey, but that's likely due to the fact that we were staying there during "peak" leaf season.

When we got back to the inn after a family dinner in Hanover, we had a great time with after-dinner drinks at the bar -- the drinks were generous and we enjoyed chatting with the bartender!

Loved the amenities in the room and we enjoyed a gourmet meal at Ariana’s! We stayed here with our family one summer and then as a couple and it never disappoints! Whenever we return from California to New Hampshire, we hope to stay here again!

Everyone was so friendly and helpful and our room was very comfortable with just the right combination of charm and convenience. Breakfast every morning was yummy with so many choices. The Lyme Inn is New England at it’s best!
- Grover42 (10/5): Charming and gracious - The Lyme Inn hosted our family reunion. The entire staff was genuinely friendly, professional, and well suited to the charming historic inn. Hilary the chef made all the breakfast pastries and savories from scratch and kept the cookie jar filled with homemade chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon. The beds are very comfortable and the entire place is well kept and clean. Beautiful gardens and there’s a nature preserve with trails a short walk down the road.

- K8146KBandrews (10/5): Comfort and Class near Dartmouth - My family of 3 booked one night at the Lyme Inn on a family vacation. There were few other guests given the mid-week, between-season timing, and the proprietors gave us a pleasant surprise of providing us a free upgrade at our self-check-in. The room we were given must have been the finest in the inn; it was very spacious, beautifully appointed, and memorable...it became the impossible standard for other hotels on our trip to meet. The inn's restaurant, about which I had fond memories from a few decades ago, was closed mid-week, but the self-serve breakfast was very good, with a lovely casual seating area. The inn is located immediately adjacent to the green in Lyme, and a little away from the main traffic flow, so it was a very peaceful place, as expected.
- David_J_from_Chicago (10/5): Quintessential New England Inn and Restaurant! - Quintessential New England Inn that is well appointed with traditional style including antique pieces and nice artwork. The grounds are well manicured with beautiful flowers and plantings. We ate dinner at Ariana’s which we also thoroughly enjoyed and for breakfast the next morning we had delicious full breakfast with home made muffins and pastries.
- 123Lalo (10/5): Sister Trip - This is a DELIGHTFUL place to stay. It feels very special, and is super comfortable. Clean, the shower is great for temp and pressure (not always something easily found). Restaurant partner Ariana's is open for dinner Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sun - which I highly recommend taking advantage of (MAKE A RESERVATION). Breakfast is very nice. The only downside was that there is no one on the desk after 6 pm, so if you have any problems (which I did NOT), you have to call a number and the innkeeper comes from his own place which is not on the grounds.
- mitchsf (10/5): Beautiful setting Lovely Inn - This is a lovely small Inn in beautiful Lyme, NH. My room was very comfortable. They provide a lovely hand crafted breakfast with all local products. I understand the restaurant is wonderful and I look forward to staying again so I can dine. The staff was personal and very responsive.

Loved the updated bathroom and plentiful plugs around the room. We also dined at the restaurant... it was a wonderful meal, and we truly enjoyed the most friendly and welcoming bartender, server and locals. The surrounding town is perfectly manicured. It was an idyllic first impression of New Hampshire.

- Rachel (10/5): Amazing, must stay! - We stayed for one night before making our way to Franconia State Park area. We arrived kind of late, but they left our keys for us and checkin was very easy. Our king size room had a sofa, tv, and very lovely antique furnishings. For breakfast, we had scones, coffee cake, biscuits and jam. They made eggs to order and bacon, and there was also fruit and cereal available. The inn is adjacent to the village green and a lovely place to stay! This was the coziest hotel experience we had on this trip and would highly recommend!!

Great stop when driving to and from Boston going north. 20 minutes from Hanover, Dartmouth U, and many local hiking trails. The Inn, while historic, has modern upgrades including smart TVs , numerous charging connections, some with fireplaces 4 posters and upgraded bathrooms. Great value!
