Guest Reviews
- Rebecca (10/5): -
- Paige (7/5): Comfortable stay with lots of exercise! - The space itself is charming and authentic. The owners are lovely and helpful. Our room was large and clean and they accommodated our third person, my son easily as initially we only booked for two persons. They also did laundry for a small fee which helped us on next travel. The view is amazing! The breakfast is average, can elevate and make a bit more fresh with more fresh fruit and better quality options. The access and stairs is an issue if you are not fit or have bad knees. Suggest to have a small suitcase only and you need to be fit and able to climb up and down steep stairs each day to get in and out. If your into a hike or walk you will be fine. The have a porter service if you book ahead and for a small fee which saved us on our departure.
- Jenny (6/5): It was okay. Nice views. - The bedding was comfy bathroom was comfortable as well. They overcharged us for having a guy carry luggage up and down the stairs however, he did not carry all of our luggage. He only took three bags and they were trying to charge us extra money when we were carrying our bags ourselves. There’s about 176 steps down towards the B&B, which no one told us!
- George (9/5): Stunning location, serene accommodations, wonderful breakfast- but property access may limit you - So this was a very interesting experience, a study in contrasts. The B&B is in the middle of a lemon orchard on the side of a STEEP hill south of Ravello. It is only accessible by many steps from roads above and below. The first thing is of course, the stunning view and fun lodging surroundings. Your room double doors open out into a comfortable patio area where you can admire the ocean & coast looking toward Salerno from high up. Very quiet, bird songs, lemons everywhere, soothing and restful. Just the best. Believe the photos, they are real.
Our room (#2) was very interesting, older deco & Amalfi colors & furniture styles, comfortable beds, good hot water shower, updated and clean. Very pleasant. Buffet breakfast is amazing, many selections and a nice covered patio with that view to enjoy. It is really a luxury experience at a reasonable price. The owner & staff were always helpful. The hills are full of historic trails (steps) down to Amalfi, & other places dating back centuries. (Google "the path of lemons"). The only caveat (see below) is you MUST be in good physical condition and have few pieces of luggage to get here. We give it 5 stars in spite of the steps but they are formidable, could be a deal breaker. The property is isolated from food and transportation options so you will have to climb the steps repeatedly to leave the property for anything. The only thing, and we didn’t drop the rating for it (it’s the nature of the terrain), is the actual property access. This needs explanation so you don't make a mistake: the Via Gradoni address is not a road, it is a series of many hundreds of rough hewn slightly uneven steps at a very steep grade that connect two winding roads across the hillside. They have to be climbed or descended to go any other places to eat or visit. It can come as a surprise to even hardy travelers. We were a party of 3 in pretty fit condition, various ages, and we found the steps to be so strenuous that they became the main factor in what we could do each day. One trip out only. Bring food back to the room, no going out again.
If you climb up to the main road (fewer steps than down), you still need to walk a long way uphill to get to Ravello proper, the first place with any amenities. Better get a taxi ($ for even the short hop). They can meet you at the top of the steps but you still have to climb them up & back.
Smart tip we found is to do the walk DOWN from the property (still a LOT of steps), follow the road/trail into Atrani and Amalfi. Enjoy them all day, then take the hourly SITA bus up the hill to Ravello (good bus, only a few €), enjoy Ravello, then walk or get a taxi back to the top of Via Gradoni and walk down the steps again to the property. This way you’re only walking down. Still we had over 12,000 steps on the smartwatch that day. In summary, if you have luggage with wheels, or several pieces, are not a marathon runner (!), or are unsteady climbing steep short steps for a long time, we would not recommend it. There is literally no help available, you will have to manage everything up & down by yourself. There is no one around. A fall here could end your trip. The locals can do it, have for centuries, God bless them. Much respect. It's a way of life we can't criticize. Just weigh the trade offs.
- Isabelle (10/5): - Amazing location, very nice hosts. Clean place with amazing view. Feels really like a dream holiday place. A bit difficult to access but part of the charm of the location
- Matthieu (10/5): Le top the place to be - Tout et la vue à couper le souffle
- Ricca (10/5): -
- Laurel (10/5): Hands down one of the most beautiful places we stayed on our trip! Would recommend it to anyone I kn - It was exceptional! Gorgeous location in the middle of the lemon orchard. I am still dreaming about it. It was a bit hard to find at night. Lots of stairs! But all and all worth the trek!
- Ieva Savikevičiūtė (10/5): -
- Evita (10/5): - Very pleasant and kind hosts. The view is also fantastic. I would be very happy to return there.
- Michael johnston (5/5): Not for the unfit or elderly. - Breakfast poor. Location very beautiful but extremely hard to get to. From ravello it is a long way down steps. Definately not for old people or unfit people. The steps going back up was a nightmare. No evening meal. The owner pestered us to be out of the room before the checkout time. Breakfast poor. And all the steps which was a very physical challenge.
- Irene (10/5): Dreamy - Beautiful location in a lemon grove! Wonderful views, comfortable rooms and very pleasant hosts. Everything was perfect.
- Damian (10/5): Beautiful place to stay! - A lot of steps up and down to the b&b, which is no fault of the owners. It’s a difficult trip up and down if you have a lot of suitcases or heavy suitcases.
- Peter Jan (9/5): -
- Aurora (9/5): - Las vistas espectaculares.
- Ruth (10/5): - A beautiful spot overlooking the coastline , sheltered under a lemon grove. Room was a good size, with a very comfortable bed. The rooms opened up onto a grassed terrace with your own seating & table. Up some steps is a communal sitting paved area with plenty of space & seating & the incredible view. The excellent Breakfast was served outdoors under the cover of the lemon trees.
Our hosts were extremely friendly & helpful & good fun. They ensure you enjoy your stay with them. It is a lovely, quiet place to relax & enjoy the delights of the Amalfi ciast Just be aware this B&B is about 20min walk away from the main town of Ravello. The walk to the B&B involves a lot of steps. You can get a local town bus to bring you to & from the main town. (Your hosts can advise you of where to get it.Cost €1.50 pp)However, you cannot avoid the 175 steep steps to the B&B. Hard work with bags/ suitcases. However, we did cope (both 64yrs old) & I would stay here again as the accommodation is certainly worth the walk. Xx
- Luca (10/5): -
- Beat (8/5): -
- Yolanda (10/5): - Beautiful little farm with amazing views over the sea & nearby towns. Rosalba & Luigi were wonderful. The only recommendation is to advice visitors about the long walk, via steep stairs, from the parking arrea to the B&B entrance. The hospitality & fresh water with lemon, made the walk totally worth it
- Emily (10/5): - This place is truly magical. The hosts were very kind and gracious and the property is kept very well. I read the reviews beforehand but did not expect the location to be as difficult as it was. It’s standard for the area but even if you are in good shape you will need energy to get to and from here. If you are planning a trip here I would highly recommend travelling light and bringing snacks/groceries just incase you want something to eat during the day and do not want to venture outside in the heat. Walking up to Ravello or down to Minori in the mornings and evenings is beautiful but if you plan to leave in the afternoon it will be exhausting with the heat and incline. Great exercise and a view that will stay with you long after you leave. And if you are lucky with timing - book for an evening with a full moon. I’m very grateful for the time I spent here.
- Guido (9/5): -
- Chai Wei (10/5): -
- Maria Caterina (9/5): - Posto splendido,panorama mozzafiato e pace assoluta!
Gestori accoglienti e disponibili.
The location is absolutely stunning - breathtaking views everywhere you look!
⠀
We were warmly welcomed by a lovely couple so kind, genuine, and friendly.
⠀
Inside, everything was super comfortable, cozy, and spotless.
⠀
One thing to keep in mind - you definitely need a car to get there. But honestly, that’s what makes the place so peaceful and private.
⠀
If you’re looking for an authentic Italian escape surrounded by nature and warm hospitality - this is it
- Pop (10/5): -
- Giulia (9/5): -
- Debra (10/5): Exceptional - Facilities. The view the separate areas for relaxing.. Friendly helpful staff & host. Lovely fresh breakfast, good variety. We would have appreciated having cups available. How ever when asked for them they were provided. Extra pillows & blankets would have been appreciated.
- Haaksma (9/5): Superb - It was a really nice place and room. You have enough space to chill outside. The room is big. The public transport was not that easy to go to this location.
- Yasemin (8/5): Very good - We spent 3 nights and 4 days at B&B I Limoni and had a very pleasant stay. The accommodation was comfortable and offered great value. Each morning, we enjoyed a spread that included eggs (which you can easily cook yourself using a convenient machine), croissants, a marmalade tart, milk, juices, yogurt, jams, honey, cereals, and an incredible bruschetta that our host brought to us daily. We also received a fresh fruit plate, along with tea and coffee. The room was spacious, equipped with air conditioning, and had a beautiful view from the terrace overlooking the lemon garden.
Although I wouldn’t consider it a major drawback, it’s definitely important to plan your transportation in advance. You have two options to reach B&B I Limoni: one is to climb up from Marmorata, which is nearly at sea level—this route involves about 1,000 steps. That’s what we did for the first two days since we hadn’t yet figured out a better way. The second, much easier option, is to approach from above via the Gradoni road, which only involves around 200 steps. We highly recommend taking this route, as it saves a lot of time and energy. From this route, you can walk to the left and easily find the San Cosma bus stop (this is when you wanna go back to city center from the hotel). This stop connects you to the nearby village of Ravello, and from there, you can catch another bus that takes you directly to Amalfi or Atrani.
Overall, it's a great place to stay if you're looking for comfort and good value for money. We also highly recommend bringing lightweight bags—ideally backpacks rather than suitcases—when traveling anywhere along the Amalfi Coast. The region is full of stairs, narrow paths, and uneven terrain, which can make carrying heavy luggage quite challenging. A backpack will make your journey much more comfortable and manageable.
The breakfast could benefit from a bit more variety, perhaps some olives or cold cuts, but honestly, it’s perfectly fine as it is, especially considering the overall value and the effort it takes to carry everything up those stairs. Just treat it as an classic simple Italian breakfast.
There’s no coffee or tea maker in the room, and no mini fridge either. However, there is a shared fridge available in the garden area, which you can use if you have wine, sandwiches, or other small items that need to be kept cool.
Just a heads-up: the hosts do a light tidy-up of your room while you're out. We weren’t aware of this in advance, so we were a bit surprised when we returned to find the room refreshed. It’s a thoughtful gesture, but it might catch you off guard if you're not expecting it. This was likely just a communication gap, as we don’t speak Italian and the hosts don’t speak much English.
- Jo (8/5): A dream stay. - Breakfasts were very good.
Hosts were very pleasant.
Ravello is a fabulous location and not as crowded as other areas along the coast The villa and views from the stylish outdoor areas were stupendous. We could have had better information on parking.
- Nicola (4/5): - Terrible location to get around. Lots of steps both up and down to the property. This should have been highlighted better in the information section.
- Tim (8/5): Very good - Incredible views, very friendly and helpful hosts including Tex the dog.
Breakfast was good.
Very quiet and peaceful tucked away in a lemon orchard. The stairs to reach the b&b are quite taxing if you have a lot of luggage

Charming and Scenic, But Not for the Faint of Heart
I recently stayed at this property in Ravello and was absolutely captivated by the breathtaking views and the charm of the villa itself. The peaceful atmosphere, stunning sea vistas, and surrounding nature created a truly magical experience.
However, I feel it’s important to mention that access to the property is extremely challenging. From the main road, there are approximately 240 narrow and steep steps just to reach the gate. Once inside, you’ll face an additional 188 steps to arrive at the villa itself. The path is very narrow, with uneven concrete stairs and no assistance available for luggage, which made arrival and departure quite difficult.
This location is definitely not suitable for anyone with mobility issues or those who are not in good physical condition. Carrying luggage up and down without help was incredibly strenuous—even for someone fit. The climb is not a small inconvenience—it’s a serious consideration.
That said, if you're up for the challenge and physically capable, the reward at the top is undeniably worth it. The views are unforgettable, the property is lovely, and the tranquility is unmatched.
Tip: Arrange for luggage assistance in advance if possible, pack lightly, and wear good walking shoes!

- Alexandra (1/5): Bad - really inconvenient for anyone location tarrible
when we got there with luggage Luigi didn't ofer help thisnplace it is so difficult to get in an out nothing it all we ask if they have any food available they didn't ofer a banana. very bad reviews for them
we request accommodation for 3. I.WAS TOLD 3 IN ONE BED
- Oscar (5/5): Very disappointed! - The view over the gulf of Salerno is beautiful, especially if you get one of the two rooms with balconies. First, I want to clarify that it’s not 100 stairs to get to the gate ( from via de la Republica) it’s 173 stairs to the first gate or 258 stairs to the second gate. This may be a limitation for many people. The place itself is quiet, peaceful with an incredible view over the gulf of Salerno.
The breakfast is degrading, of the seven hotels we used on this trip through Europe it was the poorest of all!
Considering there are no cafes or shops nearby to enhance the breakfast, they should have put a little more effort into improving it!the little they offered, even some fruit salad, or fruit of any kind, would be an improvement!
- Deborah (8/5): - The view was spectacular and it was such a quiet and serene atmosphere. Also, the hosts, Rosalba and Luigi, were so nice.
- Johanna (9/5): Peaceful and comfortable. - Large room, comfortable bed, best blinds for sleep. The location has steep steps but the grounds were beautiful. I had my best sleep at this bnb. Some furniture was a little outdated but did not interfere with my level of comfort.
- Debra (7/5): Good - Beautiful views, quiet and charming. Access to the property was extremely challenging with 100 stairs and no assistance to help with baggage. On the departure someone was arranged to assist but they never showed up. This access information was not clearly visible in the listing and it wasn’t until I received the nonrefundable confirmation that I realized there were 100 steps. The listing indicates it’s a short walk to the village center which is not realistic given the extreme vertical climb. I was most disappointed no assistance with luggage was available which put me in harms way carrying luggage up and down extremely steep steps without railing in some sections.
- Sofia Alice (8/5): - We had a really lovely stay, the location was incredible but an extremely challenging walk to access so would only advise if you are physically fit. The only downside was we couldn't get hot water in the shower - might be okay in August but left something to be desired! Good value for money though and would stay again if visiting Ravello/Amalfi.
- Cameron (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nina (10/5): Enjoying the third day. - Views, fresh smell of the lemon trees and the sea.
No cars around. Very quiet. 153 high steps down. No problem for the young. I am 79, made it with my backpack. Without backpack not bad to go up. Will see how I will do tomorrow morning with my backpack.
- Yoav (10/5): Exceptional - So close to Ravelo still in the countryside. Wonderful sea view from the window and balcony. Charming hospitable familly. Be aware there are more than 100 stip stairs you have to descent in order to get to the property
- Bobby (10/5): - Beautiful property with friendly owners
- James (8/5): Not sure its worth the stairs. - Well.... and this is our fault.... but the husband missed in the listing that there are 240 steps from the street to get to this property. And SYEEP STEPS! With luggage, it was definitely a struggle. Once we got there, we could not get a hold of the owner to let us in for almost an hour.
BUT.... once in, the views of the Italian coast were amazing. The room was nice, the bed was small, but that's expected in Europe. Breakfast was good, typical European breakfast. We ended up cutting our trip short because of the stairs. It was just too much.
- Kathy (8/5): Very good - The location offered stunning views over the bay. It was very peaceful to sit and watch the sunset with the bats flying over the lemon groves.
The room was a good size and clean.
The owners and staff were friendly, but communication was difficult as they did not speak English, and I do not speak Italian. But we managed. The stairs getting to the property are an issue. This should be highlighted more when booking the property, rather than expecting people to have seen it in the reviews.
Being remote, it would have been nice to have a kettle in the room.
- Bruce (2/5): - NOT ACCESSIBLE BY ANY STREET WHATSOEVER. This was the absolute WORST travel experience of our lives. We paid for 4 nights, but only stayed 2 nights. The only reason we stayed 2 nights is because we arrived so late the first night, and we found it IMPOSSIBLE to leave because we had both already carried our big luggages down 300-400 stair steps in the dark. We could not do that again. So we were trapped there. They have no restaurant, no food, no shop, no amenities, no service, no staff. Nothing whatsoever. Horrible. And owners copped an attitude too. A TOTAL NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE. And this place is NOT CHEAP.
- Samantha (6/5): - The property its self is lovely. The owners are kind, though they do not speak English. The location is terrible. The only way to access this B&B is walking up or down 100’s of stairs. The closest restaurants are a 20-30 mins walk entirely up stairs. The nearest beach is a 20-30 min walk down stairs and hills. The bus stops are no where near the property and is long ride up and down switch backs and often packed with people.
- Madoka (7/5): A place of peace after the trials - The owner's family was charming, they looked after us during our stay. We got lost on the first day, but the owner patiently explained how to get there over the phone. The long steps were tougher than we expected, and it was surprising how easily the local people walked up and down. There aren’t any shops nearby, I recommend bringing food and drinks beforehand (don’t bring with a suitcase!).
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location is quite inaccessible, requiring a climb down lots of steps from Ravello - me and my partner were very foolish and walked from Minori with our luggage. Do NOT do this, get the bus from Ravello and walk down the stairs, the climb up from the coast with 15kg luggage each was miserable and the stairs were not in great condition and felt dangerous.
The Hotel itself is unreal, we had a lovely room with air-con and access to a terrace with phenomenal views. The staff are very friendly and helpful, although sometimes the language barrier made communication a little difficult. All in all, I would highly recommend this place if you are fit and healthy and can manage the climb to Ravello each day. This place is incredible considering the relatively low price.
One more time though...DO NOT TRY WALKING HERE FROM THE COAST - GET A BUS TO RAVELLO AND CLIMB DOWN
- Alessandro (8/5): Very good -
- Περσεφώνη (10/5): Exceptional - Great view of the Amalfi coast, perfect to relax! The host was very nice and helpful. One thing to keep in mind is that the property is accessible via a series of stairs, but this is something you’ll find throughout Amalfi. The town is known for its steep terrain and countless stairways, so if you’re planning a trip here, be prepared for a bit of a workout. However, the climb is absolutely worth it!
- Andreea (8/5): Very good -
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional - The view, the terrace. Beautiful scenery, friendly staff. It's definitely not for unfit people. To get there or from there one needs to climb a decent number of steps. But it's worth it😃
- Issy (4/5): Do not book this property too many stairs and a rude owner! - The view was amazing and the room was very clean! The 200 steps to and from the property were not clearly mentioned on the booking page had they have been we never would have booked. The property owner was extremely rude and begrudged to even offer guests water which is shocking give the stairs. If she doesn’t want guests why offer a B&B service! DO NOT BOOK!
- Eggy (7/5): Good - This Place is absolutely stunning and beautiful. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The only issue that everyone should know before going, it that the address is located in between a huge huge staircase. if you arrive from the street above (which is closer, than the street below), this alone is 527 stair case which is very uneven and some of the steps are huge to climb. I am 6'4 (193cm) and had to stretch at times. But are the stairs worth the location? YES! but I wish I would had know in advance as I was on 2 week trip, and had a huge suitcase. It was impossible getting my bag down the steps when we arrived. Imagine what it was like getting the bag up the stairs when I checked out. If you stay there just bring a backpack, then all will be good :) 👍
- Georgiana (10/5): Exceptional - An accommodation to which I have no words , it was much nicer than we expected and the staff very welcoming and attentive, a delicious breakfast and specific to the place. So glad we chose them, we will definitely be back again!
- Henry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simon (9/5): Very hospitable hosts. Went out of their way to accommodate our requests. - Very good
- LAWRENCE (6/5): Lovely but put off by stairs - The B&B itself is nice and clean, air conditioned and tidy.
The owner/ maid was lovely and attentive.
The stairs to the property put a dampener our trip and we wish we would have known about these beforehand and researched ourselves before arriving.
The walk to Ravello centre takes 30 minutes uphill, around 500 steps. The accommodation is not suitable for those with children or mobility issues.
- Franca (7/5): If we would have known how to get there we would not have booked this place. Parking is ALWAYS a problem and not like in - The view, but that is about all there is to say Very basic breakfast, croissant a day old and not even fruits ‼️ A no go if you run a B&B
- Chiara (8/5): Very good -
- Logan (2/5): - Beware of this property. Firstly, to get to the property there are 310 steep steps. Do not plan on bringing luggage or it will be hell. We booked a room for 3 people to stay, but upon arrival there was only a queen bed and this wasn’t changed for a few days (the 2nd bed ended up being a small futon). The hosts do not speak English, and were rude to me and my wife. We decided to check out early and the owner harassed us to pay a tourist tax in cash, even threatening to have us arrested over €24. We had already paid through Expedia up front, so this was confusing. The breakfast is just cereal and waffles that you make yourself. Ravello on the other hand was fabulous, we met a ton of amazing people and had a wonderful time. If you stay in Ravello, stay in the city center, where you can eat, drink, shop without an Olympic style training before and after.
- Vidal (6/5): Pleasant - The views. The owners were pleasant enough but no interaction. The steep stair descent and climb to the b and b and town. This wasn't mentioned on the website, you need sturdy knees and strong bodies. Carrying our luggage down the steep ladder/staircase was a mission. The mosquitoes, I was badly bitten. The owners dog sitting with us each day outside at breakfast waiting for food. The owners didn't interact with us very much. No advice was given regarding where to visit or places to eat. We stayed there and left and that's it. There was a power cut from 10pm-11:45pm.
- Deanna (10/5): This is a very peaceful place that fills your soul and heart. - Beautiful views. Beautiful sunrise. Beautiful patios and sitting areas. This town is within walking distance and is lovely. The stairs are closer to 300. Very steep without handrails in some parts. Very difficult and I only had a nap sack and camera bag. I wouldn’t have been able to manage a full suitcase. You have no choice but to go up and down them to get food in afternoons and evenings.
- Syed (7/5): Breathtaking location. - The location offers a breathtaking view the terraced garden outside the room is wonderful. However the room is adequate and guest services virtually nonexistent. Also one has to ascend a long set of stairs to access the road. The location is not advisable for people with respiratory or cardiac health problems. Bare minimum room and guest services.
- Andres (8/5): Lovely - This was a little peace of paradise on earth. Hosts were friendly and accommodating. The only possible negative is that this b&b is hard to get to. It’s in the middle of the mountain with no vehicle access so you have to walk either up or down 80+ stairs (depending on where you are dropped off). So pack lightly! That 50+ lb bag feels much heavier when being lugged up what feels like a million steps, none of which are uniform. It’s great if you are fit and have a small bag.
- Melanie (5/5): Extremely strenuous, not many amenities. - Gorgeous views and multi terraced property. It was nearly 300 steps from the road, which is not clearly stated on their description. It was extremely challenging to get to, even for us who are relatively young and fit. Not close to town. The rooms were ok, there was not even a bar of soap or bottles of water available.
- anisa (10/5): - Amazing property! The view is phenomenal, Owners and staff were extremely friendly, kind and helpful….. highly recommend staying there. However, be prepared to use a long staircase to get to the property. If you are traveling with luggage, I recommend bringing down an overnight bag or backpack only..
- Joshua (9/5): Brilliant - Perfect facilities and friendly host Location was difficult to get to
- Kaitlyn (10/5): - Best view in Ravello!
- Francesca (8/5): Amazing stay, not easy to get to but totally worth it. - Spectacular view, lovely and quiet
- Carly (9/5): Superb -
- William (10/5): Can't wait to come back! - Beautiful location just down from Ravello, wonderful hosts and excellent breakfast!
- Katie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alice (6/5): Amazing views,Lovely accomadation but stairs are off putting with large bags - Stunning views and amazing lemon trees everywhere. Clean, comfortable rooms. Simple but yummy breakfast. Stairs to the accomadation are insane with big bags.
- Camelia (8/5): Wounderfull view! - The view and the lemon trees!! Indeed, you have 258 stairs to go down to the location but also to climb when you go to Ravello….. also is very high humidity inside the room, everyting is wet lingerie and clothes
- Carrapetta (5/5): Don’t skip leg day - Amazing views and room clean The stairs downs and up. We underestimated the stairs don’t skip leg day ! We found the staff rude, when we had to pay the tourist tax, we said can we pay in card that said “no, cash only, we sent you a message”. The message was sent 1 hour before we checked out, and I’m not walking up 253 steps to go and get cash. But some how a eftpos machine appeared when I demanded card only. Very rude!
