• Vanessa (8/5): Would stay again :) - Mariel and Ted are great! New owners as of the last few years. The motel is an easy walk to the downtown food, market, arcade, and other activities. I decided to extend my stay another week Terrible wifi for my laptop. I used my mobile hotspot the entire time. Mariel and Ted are looking at a new provider for 2026

My friends and I stay here every year :) - Great location staff was awesome and even though it is a budget motel everything was really clean and well cared for. Great value for what it is and we felt super safe there! It’s an older motel that hasn’t been updated so the rooms left something to be desired but as long as you are under no illusions about that it is very clean and well kept

• Ramiro (7/5): Good budget option and close to the downtown area - Motel location is in walking distance to the downtown shopping area and a few attractions. Went on the off season so the motel was pretty quiet and . The room and bed was very clean as well as the bathroom in the room. I only needed an additional towel and washcloth for an additional night, but getting a hold of staff to request another towel was easy and quick. Would stay again. My room was on the second floor and the stairs going up to the second floor were a bit worn and weathered. That would be the only improvement I would make.

• Kris (10/5): Cleanliness and kindness - Location is excellent for visiting the main drag in the Dells. Very clean. Staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating (e.g., we had an early arrival, and not only was the room ready but they had made sure to turn the AC on so we'd be comfortable when we arrived). Excellent value! The facilities are a little dated (smaller vanity in bathroom, e.g.) The check out time of 10 is a bit earlier than some (and we were out late at a wedding, so would have liked to sleep in... though to be fair, we never asked if a late checkout was possible). Because the location is in the thick of it, we struggled to find a close place to get breakfast without a big line.

• Allison (10/5): - Our stay was amazing. The property decor is a bit out dated, the ac doesn't is an old window unit. The room was clean, caulk was clean, window sills clean, no dust, mattress encased in waterproof liner. Staff are lovely, friendly and would always wave when they saw us.
• Ojeda Dominguez (7/5): It was okay for 1 night - We only stayed 1 night at this hotel, so I can't speak much about it. For my one night though, the staff was friendly. I believe it was a husband and wife who ran the hotel. I liked the pool, it was clean. The beds were okay. At first, I thought they were uncomfortable, but I had a good nights sleep, surprisingly. I was able to park right outside my room. The electrical outlet where the fridge was plugged in didn't seem to work unless you wiggled the cord. Also, the electrical outlet by the nightstand didn't work. There was a smell to the room that just stuck out. It was manageable, though, since we stayed only one night.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Not best deal - The room was good but the internet was bad. No coffee pot, no hair dryer or phone. Was charged more because I didn't book thru them directly. They didn't offer water park tickets because they don't deal with hotel.com. She did give us finally free tickets but explained why it wasn't part of our package I didn't save any money booking thru Hotels.com.
• Frumencio (10/5): - Very nice and polite when we checked in. We didn’t know what to expect at a motel and an older motel key chain, but as soon as we opened the door to the room. To our surprise it smelled fresh and clean! No mildew or old paint smell. New Everything sheets, towels, bed, floor and bathroom! Thanks to the owners and we will be back. 100% Recommended Shaggy Acevedo and Gigi
• NANCY (6/5): Probably would not stay there again. - Cleanliness and location. Terribly hard pillows. Shower had a nozzle I've never seen before. Despite posted sign, I could not figure out how to turn on the shower. Room also had a sickening sweet scent plug in the wall. It made the room smell like a public restroom.

• Christine (6/5): Was good just a few flaws. - I like that it was close to the main strip , staff was friendly. I didn’t like that the whole time you’re there they don’t come and clean your room every day and if you need new towels or toilet paper you have to go to them because they said since Covid they no longer clean rooms every day they wait for the guest to leave before they do that. So you have to go to them if you need anything.

• Chelsey (6/5): Served its purpose. - Dated, but very clean and lots of space in the room for suit cases and baggage. Microwave, fridge and a nice little table and chairs are included, but there was still a lot of space. Rooms smelled very nice as well. Bed was comfy, on the softer side. Great location, close to downtown and almost shares a parking lot with the Big Boy restaurant, which is convenient. Also appreciated very prompt responses to my questions when I reached out via the app prior to arriving. We got there late and the owner waited for us and checked us in after office hours since we had reached out beforehand. It was HOT in the room when we arrived. The wall a/c unit took forever to cool the room initially. We got there late, and just wanted to sleep, but ended up running to the store for a fan. However, once it was cold, the room stayed cold. The sheets were constanly coming off the bed. And the towels and sheets were a bit thin. Tub didn't drain well and ended up taking a shower with the bottom of the tub having about an inch of standing water. Also several other guests who sat in the chairs on the walk way to the rooms smoking. Felt like I was walking through smoke every time I walked outside the room. The last night we tried watching TV but it kept telling us we had to connect to the network. It was after the time the office had closed so we couldn't call about it. Also wish there was a night stand on both sides of the bed. I pulled over a chair to use as my nightstand. That being said, these were small, easy to deal with annoyances, but I guess I expected more from all of the 5 star reviews.

• Dan (10/5): - Star Lite Motel has been around for several decades, almost 80 years. Yes, I've seen several negative reviews in previous years. However, the current owners are absolutely Amazing people who in their second season here. These people are very kind and they care a lot about their Motel. No, its not perfect and has a few things they are working on, but for a 2 star Motel, it is very comfortable in my opinion. Plus, they are Polish immigrants who came here the LEGAL WAY!! Please stop and stay with them. God Bless 🙌

• Katherine (1/5): Disappointing - The bed was very lumpy and the bedspread was not clean. The toilet was made for a child. Coffee was available at the check-in/check-out area which did not open until 8:00 am.

Motel is within walking distance to downtown Wisconsin Dells very convenient for dining. Wish there were more towel bars or hooks, not a big deal, just needed a place to dry the towel

• Bernd (9/5): Super clean, great value older motel - Very clean older style motel room, right on the main drag. We could have walked to the stores and some food places. We asked for ground floor, but were booked upstairs and they switched us to a double full size bed room on the ground floor to help us out. Built in the 80's, and has many of the original plumping and fixtures, but everything worked and as said, was super clean and decently comfy. Owners/operators were on site and super nice. Really good value for the area. Older window AC, so we had to juice it up a little to stay comfortable. Towels were small, not large bath sized, but now we're just nitpicking.
