- Sharon (7/5): - If you want to see the Giants causeway then this hotel is in the best location. Room was lovely and very comfortable and the staff were all lovely. Found the hotel to be a bit dated which was a shame. We had dinner here and we wouldn't recommend. Breakfast was lovely though.
- Cath (10/5): Everything I was hoping for - So pleased that we decided to stay at this hotel for our walk of the Causeway Coastal path. Everything was great but location next to the Giants Causeway made it very special. We were able to walk down of an evening after all the crowds had left and enjoy it all to ourselves! It was just a few minutes to the bus stop of the 402 (rambler bus) which allowed us to easy get to/ from the various sections of the walk each day. The staff were all great but a special mention to the (slightly older) woman who looked after us at breakfast two of our three mornings there - she was brilliant! Getting out of the (exceptionally deep) bath could be challenging for the less nimble!!

Excellent location for the Giants Causeway. Breakfast was very good. Friendly staff. On arrival at 17:30 we were advised that the kitchen was closing at 20:00. Had to book an early table to ensure we got dinner. We would normally eat around 20:00. There was no lift & we were not offered assistance with our bags to our upstairs room.

- Lisa (9/5): Old world in a great location - Right next to the Giant’s Causeway entrance the hotel exudes a bygone era. Quaint, tidy, clean, the hotel takes you back in time. Like any old building it creaks and groans, with the noises of other guests and music from the public areas downstairs contributing to not the quietest of stays. Wifi non existent so make sure you travel with your own data access. The restaurant is also open to walk-ins and we were asked a number of times if we were staying at the hotel. Breakfast is cooked to order but the option to open your own box of cereal is also available, which we haven’t seen for a while.

If we had known our room looked over a carpark (Seaview room), we would have perhaps booked a different room. For the money, few little extras would be appreciated....eg tissues, washer.

J avais lu le commentaire qu il y avait de la moisissure sur le mur de leur SDB...effectivement, c est le cas. Et une grande partie du mur et un peu au plafond. Ce qui me surprend, c est qu'aucun client en n a fait part et aucun employe n a fait de remarque. J'en ai fait le commentaire à la reception, ils sont Venus nettoyer le mur avec un linge et un détergeant.... Aussi, j avais lu ce commentaire qui s avère être d actualité, l eau de la douche est tiède. J ai désiré prendre un Bain, impossible avec cette temperature de l eau. Aussi, je pouvais sentir les traces de savon séchés sur les bord du bain. Pour le prix de la nuitée, très décevant.

El personal muy amable, intentando hacer agradable la estancia. Además, por ser huesped del hotel tienes parking gratis y acceso libre al centro de interpertacion Cenamos en el hotel. La comida estuvo bien, pero tardaron un montón en sacarnosn os platos principales.

Breakfast was good. Old hotel (started building in 1838) but good updates. The bathtub/shower was oddly high and I had to climb in a chair to get in. The staff had put in a safety bar to help but at 156 cm tall, I needed a chair to stand on. Once in the shower was fine.

- Storyteller317895 (2/5): Extremely disappointing stay – do not be misled by the reviews - We decided to book The Causeway Hotel after seeing only positive reviews, which now leaves us wondering how those reviews are justified, as we had one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. The location itself is very good — ideal for a round trip and a convenient stop along the route. It is also well situated for visiting the Giant’s Causeway and Bushmills. Check‑in was easy and smooth, and at first glance, the room looked like the photos. However, on closer inspection, the bathroom was mouldy, and the bathroom light was dirty (unfortunately, this did not show clearly in the photos). The room was also extremely noisy, with walls that felt paper‑thin. Bring earplugs if you plan to stay. There were no power sockets on either side of the bed, making it inconvenient to charge a phone or use it as a bedside clock. We mainly booked the hotel for the convenience of the on‑site restaurant, but this turned out to be the biggest disappointment of the stay. The menu was very limited, and the only item that appealed to us was the local beer battered fish. Unfortunately, the oil tasted rancid, and the fish was far from fresh or local. In over 30 years of living in the UK, we have never had fish that tasted so old and unpleasant. Due to the freezing, windy, and rainy weather — and being hungry after a long day of walking — we had no real choice but to eat it. Which was a real downfall, as we both were physically sick the next day. The chips were advertised as “triple cooked,” yet it was obvious from the look that they were simply standard chips. Condiments such as ketchup and mayonnaise were very low‑quality, unbranded versions, which again felt out of place considering the prices being charged. At this price level, you would expect better quality throughout. When we asked for the bill as we wanted to go to bed after a long day, we waited over 20 minutes with no staff in sight after we asked for the bill. When we eventually approached a female member of staff to mention the wait, her response was simply, “Oh, that is ok,” with no apology or explanation. When I replied that it was not okay to wait that long when tired, there was no response at all. Back in the room, loud music from the bar made it very difficult to sleep. There was also no complimentary water or tissues in the bathroom — something you would normally expect for a one‑night room price of £170. Instead, it felt as though guests are expected to purchase everything separately, giving the impression that the focus is more on extracting extra money from tourists than on providing proper hospitality. The worst was yet to come: breakfast. The continental buffet looked nicely presented. In hotels at this price point, you would expect fresh fruit — not canned grapefruit, etc. The cooked Irish breakfast arrived cold, apart from the egg. The bacon was so hard and leathery that it was impossible to cut or even pierce with a fork. Overall, we genuinely do not understand how this hotel receives such good reviews, as nothing about our stay met any of our expectations. There are far better options nearby offering much better value for money. For us, this was a truly disappointing experience. Never ever again! A real shame for such a great location.

- William (9/5): Loved it the location great loved to have stayed longer but as a pensioner could not effort - My wife and I stayed for 2 nights we dined each night at the hotel because the food and service was fantastic the breakfast had very good choices There isn't anything we didn't like I have difficult with my leg with stairs and iam to proud to use a chair but the staff took my bags up to the room they lady at the desk seen I use a walking stick and arranged for the bags to the room a thought that was compassion
- grahaml863 (8/5): Great location and price - We had one night in the hotel, picked mainly because of the price and location. We were in room 29 which was quiet from other guests, but Friday was very windy, so there was quite a bit of noise from that plus the heating system made all sorts of noises! The bedroom itself was modern and clean though the mattress could have been better - a bit hard for us.

- kirstyg757 (8/5): Free Causeway parking if you spend £10 - I paid £10 to park here to visit the Causeway itself, and the ticket is also a voucher for £10 off food at the hotel. Or to put it another way, you can get your causeway parking free if you spend at least £10 in the hotel. Being all damp and windblown from clambering over the basalt crystals, I opted for informal dining in the bar, which is a very pleasant high ceilinged room with a relaxing atmosphere. Prices were less than I expected for a high intensity tourist location, and the food was good. Dessert took a long time to come, but I didn't mind because it was delicious. I noticed another diner being shown on request to a table with a phone charging point, which I thought was very helpful.

- daniel (9/5): Gran hotel en un lloc privilegiat - hotel amb molta història a tocar de la Giant Causeway, literalment a 100 metres del començament del camí cap a la calçada, cosa que et permet visitar la calçada a hores on no trobes massa turistes. Habitació àmplia amb vistes al mar. A destacar l'amabilitat de l'staff: vam tenir una punxada en una de les rodes del cotxe de lloguer i molt amablement ens van trucar xq en la vinguessin a canviar, i tot i haver fet el check out, ens van deixar esperar-nos a l'habitació. banyera massa alta. no es el meu cas, però per gent amb dificultats de mobilitat podria arribar a ser un problema matalàs q demana un canvi

- Janet (10/5): Perfect location for a lovely relaxing stay. - We always enjoy staying at the Causeway Hotel.The rooms are lovely, the food is very good and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The location is superb and never fails to impress. We would definitely recommend to our friends. We enjoyed our breakfasts on both mornings but would much prefer that if we want our food fried then this should be an option. We did notice that the furniture in our rooms was in need of some maintenance. Just to keep the standard of the hotel as expected.

- Mal1200 (4/5): Dissapointed - The room and food were great. What spoiled our stay - we had not checked out and returned to our room before the check out time to freshen up. The cleaning staff were already in our room and had used my daughters toothbrush to clean the bathroom!!! I asked to speak to the manager after the person on the desk was not very helpful. She stood with me in the entrance foyer to discuss the incident. Eventually she offered to replace the item, which was impractical as it had been purchased abroad. I was still charged £9.50 for 2 soft drinks which was my only extra expense on the pre booked stay. This was a regular visit for us and was very a disappointing end which unfortunately will make me reconsider any further stay.

- S (10/5): We had such a warm and charming stay—everything was comfortable, and the staff’s genuine hospitality made us feel truly - The hotel has a lovely old-world charm and is just steps away from the Giant’s Causeway. It’s clean, cozy, and equipped with all the amenities we needed. I especially appreciated the thoughtful call to confirm our reservations and dinner arrangements. Everything was exceptional.
