Guest Reviews
- MarieAtl (10/5): Quintessential Cotswolds Experience - Outstanding place to stay. The staff were exceptionally attentive. The hotel is beautiful. It's lovely short hike into the town of Broadway, through fields where sheep are grazing. It's everything you imagine the Cotswolds to be!!!
- Sarah (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- John (10/5): A quaint yet amenity filled stay in the Cotswolds - The peacefulness of the property is what stood out the most. Having spent an incredible few days in London, the setting at the Dormy House was exactly what we were looking for. The quaint layout, fabulous food & beverage and kind and helpful staff
- Colin (8/5): Nice hotel and location not in £500 per night bracket. - Breakfast excellent location good Value for money. Not much atmosphere or feel good factor
- 530ellenz (10/5): Stunning Property - The grounds and property were stunning and a joy for the senses. The food was well made and had a strong variety, which does not always happen. Going to lunch at their sister hotel was also fabulous. Shout out to Amy C. who met our needs with grace and efficiency.
- ReviewerCB (10/5): Fabulous From Start to Finish - We’ve just returned from a fantastic two night stay, celebrating a ‘big’ birthday.
I did a lot of research beforehand in an effort to find the right hotel - luxurious with spa, excellent food and great service - and I have to say Dormy House certainly met if not exceeded my expectations.
From the moment we arrived and were greeted in the car park it was all smooth sailing.
What a lovely touch that is. We really felt welcomed.
The staff are hugely professional yet friendly and helpful. All are knowledgeable and willing to put the guests first should anything be requested. We felt very well looked after throughout our stay.
Dinner at MO was excellent and tremendous fun. We would highly recommend trying it.
I’m pescatarian and the meat course was swapped out for me with no fuss ( the replacement dish was delicious.)
Breakfasts and another evening meal in The Back Garden were also excellent and thoroughly enjoyed.
Staff here were delightful too. Despite looking for a luxury hotel I didn’t want one with a stuffy atmosphere and Dormy House get this spot on. Excellent attention to detail without fuss and always with a smile.
Bedrooms were fantastic and delivered exactly what we were looking for. Thank you to the housekeeping staff who looked after us incredibly well. Great turn down service.
Spa was luxurious and not overly busy. Wonderful facial!
The surrounding area offers lots of interesting walks and places to visit: Broadway and Broadway Tower, Batsford Arboretum, Stow on the Wold, Moreton in Marsh, Hidecote and Sezincote. Lots and lots to do.
So, in conclusion, a really memorable weekend.
We are already planning a return visit.
- 199kenc (10/5): Another fabulous stay for us at Dormy House Hotel..big thanks to the staff for making our stay so special . - Another fabulous stay at Dormy House Hotel
- Matthew (10/5): What a fantastic stay, great place, staff and spa + MOs, just incredible - It’s a beautiful property with well character and style As in most old buildings you get a bit of noise between the floors
- mitty (8/5): Lovely place but shouldn’t have to work that hard to figure things out on a vacation - Very pretty . Good spa Never answered the phone so could never resolve issues . Communication was very poor.

- andrew (10/5): The Dormy House was the perfect Cotswold experience. Modern relaxed touches in a stately setting - the Dormy house is a stunning hotel with a relaxed atmosphere in five star surroundings. The food is excellent, the staff exceedingly kind and it is a welcoming experience While all the amenities of the hotel are superb, our room could have been better. For such a high end hotel, our room lacked a certain luxury. I do not know if it is like this in the main house but the walls are very thin, the bathroom small and the room was austere for such a nice hotel. We chose Dormy house because the rooms were more modern than some of the dated old manors so in that sense it is great, but after experience the STUNNING main areas, the rooms lack a little of that same luxury
- we2travellers2022 (10/5): Starting with the warm welcome its clear the customer matters here. - As we pulled in and parked a gentleman, Adrian, came along to welcome us and offer any assistance we would like with bags. This is when you know your somewhere that cares about its customers.
Check in with Vicky was smooth and swift with just enough time to sip the welcome refreshment before being given a quick tour and accompanied to our room, again with offers of your luggage magically making its own way there if you so wish.
The Spa is stunning and a great place to relax for a while before getting ready for dinner.
The standout highlight for us was dinner in MO and it was everything we hoped it would be, thanks in no small part to both Marius and Mat who made the evening fly past with sublime food, drinks, enjoyable banter and a true emphasis on ensuring the guests enjoyed the evening. Or genuine thanks to them both.
After a comfy nights sleep unbelievably it was time to eat again and breakfast was very tasty with plenty of choice.

- 899mr (10/5): The Perfect Coltswold Experience - My husband and I spent two nights at Dormy House Hotel, and it truly felt less like staying at a hotel and more like being welcomed into a friend’s beautiful country home—just with added luxury.
From the moment we arrived, everything about the place felt warm, cozy, and genuinely inviting. The hotel itself is full of charm, with thoughtfully designed spaces that make it easy to relax and unwind. Our room was both comfortable and beautifully decorated, striking that perfect balance between rustic character and modern comfort.
One of the absolute highlights of our stay was the food. Everything we had was delicious, but the scones deserve a special mention—they were hands down the best we’ve ever eaten.
The spa was another standout experience—it truly melted all our stresses away. We’d highly recommend setting aside time not just to enjoy the facilities, but also to indulge in some of the treatments. It added such a relaxing and restorative element to our stay.
We also loved getting out to explore the surrounding countryside. The hotel kindly lent us wellies and provided very detailed maps, which made our walks all the more enjoyable. The scenery was stunning—peaceful, picturesque, and exactly what you hope for in the Cotswolds. We’d highly recommend the walk to Broadway Tower and a visit to the nearby village of Broadway—both are absolutely worth it.
What really made our stay special, though, was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, and Megan in particular stood out. She was always cheerful and consistently went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and well looked after.
We left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and already talking about when we might return. We couldn’t recommend Dormy House more highly
- Linda (10/5): - I loved the restaurant as well as all the different living rooms with fireplaces. The fact that it really wasn't walkable to Broadway to shop or eat & no transportation to take us back & forth.
- FamilyTraveller68 (10/5): First class, as usual! - This place exudes class, from the moment you pull into the car park with the perfectly manicured topiary to first introductions.
The young lady who welcomed us was both friendly and professional, the theme continued throughout.
We brought our own champagne to have before dinner, it was delivered exactly on time, perfectly chilled with two sparkling glasses.
The young man who served us at dinner was perfect with a low profile but always available for any queries.
Even the staff in the spa were attentive and friendly.
Breakfast perfect.
Perfect stay, back soon.
n.b Some beds in the spa seemed to have been reserved unoccupied for long periods, might be worth keeping an eye on this.
Should be 6/5.
- Callum (10/5): Great place to relax and unwind - Dormy House is a lovely place to stay. What stood out most was how friendly and helpful the staff were. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel really welcome and were always on hand if we needed anything, which made the whole stay feel easy and relaxed.
The grounds are beautiful as well, really well looked after and peaceful. It’s the kind of place where you can just wander around or sit and switch off for a bit.
The spa was a highlight too. It’s clean, well set up and has everything you’d want for a proper unwind. It felt like a bit of an escape.
If you’re looking to relax, this is a great place to do so. Overall we had a really nice stay and would definitely go back.

- every_where0603 (10/5): Easter weekend at Dormy House - We loved our stay. I wanted to give a special thank you to Megan for helping to organise my engagement proposal and the team did a fabulous job helping out and making us feel at home. The spa and range of eating options was also excellent!
- Frank (10/5): -
- Simon (9/5): -
- Daniel (10/5): -
- Richard (9/5): - Perfect Missed the Bloody Mary station. Not the end of the world but had been looking forward to our return to enjoy it but it was no longer.
- lisanjake (10/5): Amazing Hotel - gorgeous food - Me and my friends visited for afternoon tea.
The food and service exceeded our expectations and we would love to visit again when we are in the area.
Staff were attentive, the food was just amazing. very happy overall.
- MsP411 (6/5): Not child friendly - I wouldn’t advise staying here with kids. I found the staff cold towards us and completely ignored our children like they were invisible. Reception staff can barely smile and give an air of pretentiousness. It was particularly bad at dinner, I didn’t see one smile or ounce of friendliness from the waiters. They all seemed to look like they hated their job.
The fire alarm went off one night at 1am, it was ringing loudly in every room and in the hallways. My husband went down to see and he could smell smoke, there was a man there that said the problem had been rectified. In the morning no one at the hotel even mentioned the alarm had gone off. No one at reception or breakfast and there was no note posted to apologise. It was really odd.
Another odd thing was they don’t hand you a bill after you eat at the bar or restaurant so you never know how much you spent (also means you can’t tip them which might be why everyone looks so disgruntled!), they just put it on your room. You have to explicitly ask to have the bill and even then they look at you perplexed as to why you want it.
The pool area does not have enough seats. We never got a seat.
For the price charged it was overall a highly disappointing experience.
Positives:
- There were 2 people that were very friendly towards us; the young woman who was blonde and slim that worked on reception, she seemed to only be there on one day during our stay. The other person was the lady at breakfast with short hair. She was really lovely and very warm.
- Housekeeping kept the room clean and to a high standard.
- J6380CMlouisev (10/5): Highly Recommend - The location was convinient, the 10 minute walk to the beach was wonderful.
Our room was clean with the most comfortable bed we have ever stayed in. The view of the fields and sea was lovely.
The atmosphere in the bar and restaurant was friendly, welcoming and relaxed.
The food was of a high standard and was delicious. The staff were helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Overall a lovely stay, highly recommend, will definately stay again. Thank you.
- Natalie (9/5): -
- Jonathan (10/5): Always a treat to stay here - Beautiful cotswold vibes High price points
- TAMSIN55 (10/5): A warm welcome and superb customer service at the most beautiful spa hotel. - My daughter and I have just spent a night at Dormy house.
What a beautiful hotel and spa!
We had such a warm welcome, From professional hard-working staff. Everyone had a ready smile and it was a beautiful experience from beginning to end.
The spa is beautifully clean, warm with plenty of space.
My daughter announced that her facial was the best she had ever had! Our room was very comfortable clean with gorgeous toiletries. The beds were seriously cosy and comfy.
Our evening meal was delicious and could not fault it as was our breakfast.
We will definitely be returning, what a special time, well done everyone you’re doing a fantastic job! X
- annemO8512TM (10/5): Stunning - We visited Dormy House for dinner recently, on a very cold damp evening. As soon as you enter you are greeted by friendly staff and many sitting rooms all beautifully decorated and all with roaring real fires.
The restaurant is very cosy and comfortable and the food was beautiful. It was lovely to meet a waiter who used to work in another hotel that we go to, so it was good to catch up.
I would definitely recommend Dormy House as every time we go it is consistently good.
- B203PNmarkw (10/5): Take a bow Rebecca & Ilinca! - I live locally but have never found the time to visit Dormy House. On my last drive past, I promised myself a treat. And what a treat it turned out to be. My partner & I booked in for an evening meal in the Back Garden Restaurant and upon our arrival, were instantly struck by the homely atmosphere. Lovely, truly lovely. Always a good start. We were greeted by polite, cheerful hosts who were genuinely smiling and obviously enjoying their travail. Again, lovely. Excellent in fact. The restaurant itself is very restful, scrupulously clean, tables just so, cushions plumped & placed, interesting art work and well, just perfect for us. We had loads of fun choosing our food from the interesting and varied menu and once we had arrived at something resembling a decision(!), our knowledgeable hosts answered any questions we had. The food itself was superb, nothing more, nothing less. Superb. Colourful, imaginative, flavoursome, technically perfect (souffle to die for, hate that phrase, but it WAS delish!), cooked to order, presented beautifully, indeed a word I would use is standout. My partner is an accomplished cook and a professional baker and she was enraptured. Job done!
So all of this is great, but the experience is also in the detail and I couldn't help but notice how polished the cutlery was (not a watermark upon any item in our hard water area), the choice of glasses with their myriad textures, colours and styles, the crisp napkins, the glowing candles, the perfect cushions, the cleanliness, even the design of the plates we were eating from. All very carefully orchestrated and for this diner, all very much appreciated. And as for our hosts Rebecca & Ilinca, well, they were just sublime. So very keyed in to their job, it was like witnessing a ballet, so very professional but not aloof at all as some exponents of this art can be. They were both superb. Truly. And however good everything else might be, it's all tied tightly together by those people at the front of the house who work so tirelessly so that people like me can have a few hours respite from the world and its troubles. And for that Rebecca & Ilinca, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
There's a new menu coming out in March, so I'll be back to visit this wonderful homage to culinary perfection. Thank you all so very much for a wonderful experience from the both of us. You are quite literally the best.
- LilySherlock0702 (10/5): What an excellent experience! - What a fantastic experience!
This was a bit treat for me and my partner for our anniversary and it was 100% worth it.
The hotel was beautiful and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming.
The spa was amazing and spotless. The great thing is it wasn’t over crowded- they want to give their guests the best experience so there is plenty of room in the spa.
My treatment was fantastic.
Dinner was delicious.
I could not fault it in anyway !
- Abbie (9/5): Excellent stay in a beautiful hotel - Beautiful decor and relaxing atmosphere. The spa is lovely and the staff were all so friendly.

- Z1492ODrachelj (10/5): Fantastic, friendly and very clean - Such a lovely experience. My daughter treated us to an overnight stay package for our anniversary, and it was wonderful from start to finish. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Our bedroom was spotless and smelled lovely, with a thoughtful touch of a handwritten note and prosecco waiting for us.
The spa facilities were outstanding and immaculately clean. One blonde lady at the spa seemed a little uninterested, which we chose to overlook; however, the other lady was absolutely lovely and made us feel very special, so thank you for that.
Dinner and breakfast were both fantastic, truly first class. A big thank you to Chris for making us feel so welcome, and to Meg and Katie for finding the charger I had left behind. You all made the experience seamless and stress-free.
We will definitely be back. Thank you all!
- Joyce (10/5): Excellent customer service. Exquisite food. Magical spa treatment and facilities - Beautiful. Cozy. Exquisite Room was cold Bathroom was lovely and warm
- Sarah (10/5): Fantastic relaxing stay - Loved the hotel and the staff were incredible Issues with heating In the room I also was under he impression I had a room with the big bath for sharing sadly was just a small normal bath so that was disappointing or I would of had the upgrade I was offered when I booked
- Nick (9/5): Beautiful but pricey - Beautiful and luxurious property Very expensive. Even for a TINY room
- jadedC3467NS (10/5): An amazing cosy hotel - Dormy house is an amazing base in the Cotswolds. There are loads of lovely walks from the hotel and they give you boots for the walks.
We ate in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast and on all occasions it was very nice. We stayed in the jacuzzi rooms and they were big rooms with a large outdoor area. In general the hotel is very cosy and the service was amazing. Would stay here again
- 638nickd (10/5): BEST IN THE COTSWOLDS - Have visited and eaten at the Dormy for many years and it just gets better and better
The location, food quality, ambience, staff are the best in the Cotswolds and consistently
Highly recommended

- GoPlaces37215233478 (10/5): Luxury Afternoon Tea - Wonderful afternoon tea experience 19th December 2025 to celebrate a dear friend's 60th birthday. From the moment we arrived it felt incredibly special. The outside of the hotel looked wonderful, wrapped in a huge red bow with lights sparkling all around. Greeted by Adrian at the door who kindly took a photograph of us all when he spotted us attempting a 'selfie' on the steps. We were shown to our table overlooking the garden and were served quickly with champagne and a smile from Rebecca.
The food was absolutely delightful. I had forgotten to alert the chef at the time of booking that 2 of our party were vegetarian. No bother. The team quickly prepared alternative sandwiches which were delicious. The attention to detail makes the cost absolutely justified. Exquisite scones, cakes and pastries worthy of a Parisian patisserie were beautifully presented to us. Also of note were the generous portions which is not always the case at other venues. Thanks too to Marios, Matt and Sophie who who made us feel incredibly welcome and relaxed. Small touches like a chocolate bonbon and birthday chocolate for the birthday girl added to her special afternoon.
Dormy appear to have managed to balance a high end venue without it feeling stuffy or pretentious. Many thanks to all of the team!
- RealFoodieGirl (8/5): Festive break away - Decided to book a two night breakaway at the Dormy having been here twice before in the past, although many years ago.
We booked a “Splendid” room. Ours came with a small dressing area, a cosy lounge area and a nice spacious bathroom and bedroom. It was beautifully appointed and very clean, with added treats such as quality toiletries, nice teas and coffees and some chocolate, robes and slippers. The only thing I would question is the quality of the pillows, neither of us slept too well on them, the foam type pillows seem to have had their day!
The good bits….
The service throughout the hotel is impeccable, from the moment we arrived, to the moment that we left. Staff in the restaurant, bars and spa were friendly and helpful, and nothing was too much trouble.
The treatment in the spa, a full body massage, was really good and our therapist, Gemma was excellent.
The hotel was beautifully decorated and was quintessentially Christmassy, fires roaring and candles lit everywhere, the aroma throughout the hotel is gorgeous too. It’s all these little things that mean the most!
The food choice in the Back Garden restaurant for breakfast and dinner was generally good, although see below for our thoughts on the vegetarian dishes. We really enjoyed the breakfast here with a good choice of help yourself buffet items as well as a cooked breakfast. We particularly enjoyed the sourdough bread and the coffee.
The not so good….
More than anything we were so looking forward to swimming in the pool as part of our spa break, but it was really cold. Barely anyone went in the pool in fact, many people were dipping their toes in and deciding against it: It really could do with a higher temperature to make it a pleasurable experience. This was part of our spa break that we never got to enjoy.
We also found the relaxation area around the pool very cramped, feeling like you were sat on top of strangers next to you. maybe spacing out the beds would give a nicer feel.
This isn’t the fault of the hotel, but we couldn’t believe that people were talking loudly on mobile phones around the pool. Maybe a more prominent sign asking people not to talk on mobile phones would be a good idea?
Considering how big the hotel is, we found the spa area where there’s a steam room and sauna extremely cramped (for instance, four people sat in the sauna and it was full!). It was a case of going in and out of the area to see if you could get a spot, and we couldn’t, so unfortunately we didn’t get to try the sauna or the steam room for that reason either.
We had, as part of our package, a £20 each allowance to have lunch in the spa. The menu included items like salads and soups as well as smoothies. We both decided to have a salad and a smoothie which almost used up the £20 each allowance. We later found out upon checking out that in fact, the drinks aren’t included. We’d expect this not to include alcoholic drinks but smoothies? So therefore we ended up not using our £20 anllowance each on a salad and ended up paying £6 each for smoothie (plus a drinks tip!). We would suggest that staff or the menu makes it very clear that soft drinks aren’t included in the spa lunch package.
Be aware that every drink that you buy (alcoholic and soft drinks) within the hotel has a service charge on it. We don’t remember seeing this being printed on the drinks menu. We found this out upon checking out.
A major point here for vegetarians!
On the main menu, there are two choices for a main course for vegetarians, one is gnocchi and one is risotto. The gnocchi was nice, colourful, light and tasty. The risotto however was grim and inedible. It was a pile of grey looking grain risotto with slimy and sloppy mushrooms, cubes of clear jelly which I had to ask what they were, apparently they were basil jelly cubes and absolutely tasteless. It was that bad I took three mouthfuls and couldn’t eat it.
Thankfully the waister noticed this and asked if I would like to try something different. He actually agreed how grim the risotto looked. Unfortunately, the only other option was the gnocchi which I had had the previous night so yes, gnocchi on both nights!
It’s not a case of me having to tell the restaurant before I come about switching up a dish or changing an ingredient, I would expect, just as a meat eater would, to be presented with the menu that has dishes with some imagination and not two cop out vegetarian dishes.
What about a nice homemade vegetable pie or mushroom Wellington. The highlight dish for meat eaters is a beef Wellington, why not make a mushroom Wellington for vegetarians? That would be a much better choice than a colourless, tasteless, wet and sloppy bowl full of risotto. I would question whether the chef has actually sat down in front of a bowl of that risotto and tried it and been impressed by it! Surely not?
Overall, a nice Christmas break for us. Will we be back? We’re not sure (a more interesting vegetarian choice on the menu and a warm pool might sway us, but who knows?)

- Tracey Lee (8/5): Beautiful property with great food - Beautiful place - old farmhouse converted into small luxury hotel - the living rooms, bar and restaurant are lovely and cozy - the food was outstanding and the staff in the restaurant were just wonderful.
The room was good size and good mattress but the bathroom was small - also lots of noise from the plumbing which was not relaxing when in the room during the day - heatpumps at night were noisy as well.
Overall though a beautiful property Bathroom layout - toilet really squashed behind the door
- Suzanna (6/5): -
- Katie Megan (10/5): Fantastic - Our second time staying at Dormy House for our wedding anniversary. Everything about the stay is exceptional and we can’t wait to return.
- Rob (9/5): The biggest test for a hotel is would you stay somewhere again? Yes we definitely would. - We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Comfortable lounges. Great food. Cannot rate the staff any higher. Very friendly and helpful. Couple of parking spaces are very tight but not a massive issue.
- HappyGirl1779 (10/5): Excellent afternoon tea - After afternoon tea returned to Dormy House, I was excited to try it and we weren’t disappointed. The sandwiches, scones, cakes & macarons were beautiful and the tea served in glass pots with little egg timers were a nice novelty. Set in the gorgeous surrounding of a very festive Dormy House, I’d highly recommend it the afternoon tea & can’t wait to visit again.

- Excursion42439025762 (2/5): A very disappointing afternoon tea - Having read reviews on the quality of the service at Dormy House, we were very excited to take my mother and elderly relatives for a small afternoon tea celebration at the weekend. For my 90 year old aunt, Dormy House is a place she has been many times in the past, having lived in Braodway for 50 years +.
In the run up to the booking, I had spoken to a very helpful lady on the phone and had requested some changes to the sandwiches given my 90 year old aunt would probably prefer plainer options, while there was a dietary requirement for non dairy for another diner. All was discussed and I thought taken care of. Unfortunately when we arrived, I then had to go through the whole order again. With the waitress very frustrated it would seem by the changes. We then asked for a round of tea and drinks for the children. Service was incredibly slow - with us having to ask two/three times for things (eg Children's drinks). When the teas did come, they were in glass pots (some came with timers, some not) but by the time you had let the timer run, the tea was lukewarm... We asked for more tea, but another waitress brought out hot water, which then added to the already very busy table with tea pots and numerous plates etc. We asked for a final round of tea and again waited a long time for it to come - which seemed odd given that the restaurant was empty.
There was no real attention paid to the table, despite me flagging that it the occasion was for my mothers birthday. I was told something would be brought out for her, but this fell by the wayside. The only thing that was on time were the boxes brought out by an abrupt waitress - presumably telling us that our time was up. We were told to walk up to the till to make payment, rather than make payment at the table, which was odd. But it was clear to me that professionalism appeared to have bypassed the team by that point anyway. Frustrating that we had to pay service on the bill, but I didn't contest as I just wanted to leave.
For anyone thinking about an afternoon tea here, really do be aware that the higher price point is not matched by service. I have taken my family to numerous places in the Cotswolds area where they live and this was very disappointing and why I am leaving this review.
- Steven (9/5): Very comfortable and great staff. Was quite expensive but we had a great room so was not unhappy to pay it. - Beautiful building and well maintained. Felt very high end.
The Spa and restaurants were excellent.
Nothing too much trouble from for the staff, very accommodating . A bit further from Broadway than we expected.
- Emily (10/5): Wonderful stay at a very luxurious countryside hotel - Felt extremely luxurious, staff were lovely and attentive. Everything about it was upper class. Nothing. Loved everything.
- Camper56146574357 (8/5): Almost perfect - The main building is super cute and quaint, the different seating areas with log fires, the restaurant is very comfortably appointed. The staff are in the main very friendly. One gentleman in the morning made no reply when we said good morning, but other than that, the staff were very nice, friendly, and efficient. Dinner service is very pleasant and efficient. Shame that my first choice of main course was out, which left me with little else i liked, and I had to choose one of the most expensive mains of Duck. It was nice enough, but not enough to justify the 42.00 price tag. It came with some roast potatoes that were very dry. I didn't complain as I just wanted to eat my dinner by this point, and they were just OK. The service charge on every drink, even if you order at the bar, bumps up the charges. We had room 28, which was small even though it wasn't the cheapest category. This room had road noise that woke us up. There wasn't enough storage space, and it left me a bit disappointed. Oh, and it was slow to drain whilst showering. The shower itself and the Temple Spa products are both gorgeous. The bed was very comfortable. The TV turned itself on in the middle of the night to the info screen, which was a bit annoying.
The spa area is lovely. Wave touch massage was an experience. The spa I think is the main reason to stay here versus other hotels on the estate. The snow shower is visually stunning. The outdoor hydro pool is also a very beautiful aesthetic.
Having now visited The Fish, Foxhill, and The Dormy, i think the Dormy would be the one I would be reluctant to return to. I understand why it is priced so highly (the spa and the food), but it falls short for a countryside retreat for me with comparable options edging it. One of the lounges did not have the fire lit, which meant it was empty and all others were full. We sat in the very quiet bar, and I couldn't put my finger on what it lacked, but it was just so quiet that people were whispering to avoid being overheard. It is very expensive, especially once the service charge has been added. I did know this in advance of course!
If you want to go, and have more than a small overnight bag, upgrade to 3rd category of room, ask to avoid being near the road. Make the most of the spa and the breakfast! That is super! The breakfast staff were the loveliest.
Toilets and communal areas are beautiful and very well kept with fresh hand towels stocked.
Almost.. almost.. amazing.

- Jeffrey (6/5): More of a summer hotel . - Location was great. The room was quite small and really draughty making it very cold .
- Freedom27450339286 (10/5): Relaxing - just a bit cold - This was return visit for us and worth it
Callum was great showing us how to do Archery , Pistol Shooting and axe throwing worth every penny.
our stay included a Wave massage so relaxing.
Food good a bit expensive but for a special occasion worth it, our opinion same as last year should be fillet steak for the cost.
Louie in the bar and then again later in restaurant credit to Dormy helpful and happy.
The only problem we had it was very cold in bedroom/bathroom we asked for heating to be turned up and heated floor but no change in heat and floor came on in middle of night. Quilt very warm and towel rail in bathroom good but too cold for us!
Sorry but still a lovely relaxing birthday break
- Kelly (10/5): Amazing! - We love everything about Dormy. The rooms are spacious and clean. The spa has all you need and is always kept clean. Food is amazing! Nothing!

- rachelbF1326KN (10/5): An amazing stay! - My boyfriend and I stayed at Dormy to celebrate my birthday, we had the most amazing time - the package we booked for it was exceptional. The service exceeded our expectations, they made my birthday so special and we are hoping to return in the near future, thank you!

- littlemisstashypooh (10/5): Quite simply perfection! - The place is quite simply perfection! My husband and I stayed there 2 nights and was one of the best uk little trip we have done. Our room was small and cozy but perfect with great coffee and a little fridge down the hall with adorable little small bottles of fresh milk. There are gowns and slippers in the room and big white fluffy towels. Amazing products too. The bed is comfy and the shower is gloriously powerful. We had dinner in the back garden the first night and dined at Mo on the second night - both were fabulous meals and the breakfasts go down as one of the best hotel breakfast ever. We also went to the spa and had an amazing massage. The only issue we had were there are not enough beds round the pool for the number of guests and a little wait and we managed to secure some beds. We both loved the snow shower experience. Huge shout out to the employees who work there and how fabulous every single one is. The customer experience is 5 star from every single person we came across. I hope to go back one day.
- goanewyear (10/5): Spa Bliss - Just returned from an overnight spa break with my sister for her 40th birthday. Booked a package online for dinner bed breakfast and 1 spa treatment. Had a lovely day, very relaxed atmosphere, delighted to find what appeared to be an upgraded room complete with patio and hot tub, half a bottle of champagne and complementary mini bar, I assume because we were celebrating, it was all lovely and very much appreciated. Had a lovely lunch in the spa restaurant and dinner in the garden restaurant all of which were really great. Couldn’t fault the service. My only slight niggles were I found the pool and spa hot tub a bit cool for my liking. All in all lovely stay and well priced for what we had. Look forward to a return visit soon.

- Truereviews1234 (6/5): Average - We arrived on a Saturday for some lunch in The Shed. Place was very quiet, no atmosphere.
Limited menu and very slow service. Really average food and not at all what we were expecting.
Left very disappointed and would not recommend.
- Jacob (9/5): Couples trip away - Fantastic property. Lovely open lounges with fires, wonderful staff and great facilities. Nothing to not enjoy!
- Georgakopoulou (10/5): - A cozy, stylish hotel, with excellent spa facilities, in a beautiful location. Perfect for self-care and relaxation.
- 711sashap (10/5): Perfection! - A wonderful and very special stay to celebrate our mother’s 70th birthday. They pulled out all the stops, upgrading my mother’s room and giving her a surprise bottle of champagne! We adored the spa with the new snow room - it was peaceful with not too many people there. The cosy and well designed/decorated spaces are just perfect to escape from frantic life! We were quite late down for breakfast, after enjoying a morning swim and spa, but the staff were so accommodating and let us chat on and on through a relaxed breakfast. One of my favourite hotels and we will be back again!

- Juan (9/5): Cozy stay - Service was great They don’t offer turndown service in the evening
- Rushton (7/5): Great place to stay but pool area can be crowded - Lovely rooms, friendly staff. Exceptional breakfast. Spa was excellent Pool was very busy and we couldn’t get any loungers
- Mark Steel (10/5): perfect hotel, service, food. - Location - set on the ridge above Broadway. Everything about the property is perfect. The style, decor the staff, the dining rooms, the bedroom - quiet, comfortable, the shower - amazing water pressure ! It is expensive, but the money that has gone into it has made the place exceptional.
- BeckyS12 (10/5): Excellent Stay - Our second visit to Dormy House and it was fantastic. We stayed for two nights, in an entry level room, on a mid-week Spa break, which included a floatation session and waterspa massage. The hotel, furnishings, rooms and pool areas continue to look fresh, modern and comfortable. We really enjoyed the ease of Dormy House, great walks on the doorstep, pool and spa area. All staff we came across were helpful, friendly and no request seemed too much. We ate both nights in the Garden Restaurant and on our first night had a phenomenal dinner. Second night dinner was just as good too! Breakfasts on both days were excellent, and the restaurant kindly adapted to dietary preferences. The hotel room and furnishings were great, met all our needs, bed was very comfortable. Honestly, we look forward to coming back and we're already planning when we could!
- Tim (9/5): Very enjoyalbe - Breakfast was excellent I found operating the to was quite complicated
- LastSimon (6/5): Average at best - We stopped for an unplanned lunch and the first impressions and decor are amazing, but unfortunately the service wasn’t very welcoming or attentive. Lunch menu was very limited and food was average at best. I expected more from a ‘high end’ establishment.

- 767TimW (10/5): Cotswold Gem - One night stay midweek in their Top Notch room. The room was very pleasant, clean and nicely decorated with a light modern feel. The staff are very friendly in a low key manner. The hotel has plenty of lounging space with wood burners roaring away. We ate in the lesser of the two restaurants, the food was very good, with good service.
- Adrian (10/5): Nice gems outside of London - Highly recommended for people visiting Cotswolds. Will be back for more nights!
- Fivestarsalltheway (10/5): Superb Afternoon Tea - Visited last week with friends for an afternoon tea. Wide choice of large leafed teas to choose from.
An unusual display of sandwiches and savoury / sweet baked items.
Then warm fresh scones with & without fruit. Then a trolly arrived with macaroons in various flavours.
What a beautiful array of deliciousness. Staff very attentive and polite.
Beautiful surroundings, sumptuous furnishings and decor. Thoroughly recommend - we try a new venue each year and this has to be the best one in the Cotswolds.
- helengX6560FZ (10/5): Wonderful Place to visit - Afternoon Tea - this is our second visit to Dormy House. Stunning food, wonderful polite, helpful staff in a beautiful setting. We can't recommend Dormy House enough, it's always a pleasure. Best Afternoon Tea in Oxfordshire
- Fiona (9/5): lovely hotel overall in a nice location, spa is small and simple but nice - great location for walks room view was terrible, ugly ceiling and people could see straight into the bathroom from the cafe!

- Lynsey19 (2/5): Disappointed - I literally can’t begin to say how disappointed I am!
After my husband and I had a wonderful stay in May (we raved the hotel to everyone) we were keen to return next week with my mum and daughter for their birthdays. I have been trying to speak to reservations to book 2 rooms since last Thursday. I have left answer phone messages, messages with reception and even a WhatsApp…but nothing! We called you our Dorchester Hotel in the Cotswolds how wrong we were!!
- alexandrasR4027IQ (10/5): Best boutique hotel in the Cotswolds - Excellent boutique hotel, highly recommend staying in the splendid room
Food was delicious, staff were very attentive and the spa is wonderful
Nothing to fault about this place other than our stay simply wasn’t long enough and we will be back!
- Edward (10/5): Superb - Everything, the room, the Spa and the food exceptional
- stuarte774 (10/5): Birthday 25 anniversary and retirement celebrations - Once again fantastic stay staff excellent always looked after can't fault it keep it up nice whisky and beer will be back shortly can't keep away
- jayne (9/5): Down to earth luxury without the Cotswold snobbery - The personalisation of the stay. The welcoming of the dog! Would have liked to be told we could eat outside with the dog. The shed was a bit cafe rather than restaurant.
- madamSouthAfrica (10/5): Hidden Gem - This is a gorgeous country house. Reception was kind and very friendly. Our room was beautiful. We had dinner and breakfast at the Back Garden and I think that dinner was probably one of the best meals we had on our 10 day stay in England. We had pre-dinner drinks at the bar and that was lovely too. I love the decor of the place and even the ladies bathrooms was so beautifully done.
