• Brenda (4/5): - There was a huge gap under the door, it was missing the weather seal. The beds were very uncomfortable, very springy. The furniture was very dated, especially the tiny dresser. The wall where the air conditioner was, had cracks and missing Sheetrock, like small holes.
• michael (6/5): You get what you pay for - Overall it was ok--After the holiday you save money of course-we rented the apartment-was roomy and dated but overall nice-the bathroom is very small-the worst was the beds-very uncomfortable and creeky like old frames and legs-could not get a good nights sleep at all-glad we onlt stayed one night---overall just expect to get what you pay for--if the beds were better would of been a much more enjoyable stay
• Robert (10/5): Great little hotel. - I stayed in a smaller room on the first floor. The interior decoration is fun, and the bathroom and shower are very nice, if small. Microwave and mini-fridge worked fine. Very close to the boardwalk which is great. Staff is really friendly and helpful. Would go back here before a chain, much better experience.

• Marygrace (10/5): The Coral Sands is perfect! - Everything is spotless at the Coral and it is the perfect affordable place to stay near the boardwalk in OCNJ. The manager, Greta Markova, is simply outstanding and will do everything possible to make your stay perfect. The rooms were renovated and modernized a few years ago and it’s better than ever!
• Jennifer (10/5): - Clean room and bathroom. Easy parking . Beach tags were included which was a plus. Just had to leave a deposit hold for them but that was a big savings. Staff super friendly and helpful.
• Valerie (8/5): - It worked nicely for us. Very close to the boardwalk. The rooms were cute and updated. The parking was a little tight but we had a nice spot and didn't have to move our car.
• Tina (6/5): - The floors were so dirty when we arrived. That was the bad part. But the girl at the front desk went out of her way and came to our room and scrubbed the floors herself.
• Megan (10/5): - This was nice hotel to stay in for a four day vacation. They are very accommodating. Quiet. We didn’t hear any noise. Only thing I would suggest is sponges in the room for cleaning and extra paper towels in the suite. It didn’t ruin our stay just would be helpful to clean after cooking in the room. The little extra room in our room was great for privacy. So close to the beach and the bbq restaurant nexts door is nice and convenient. Food was delicious. Thank you. We enjoyed our stay.

Cleaning lady was very nice! - Only complaint is the shower head looked like mold or mildew on the head of the shower , but everything else was great in the room! Front desk lady wasn’t friendly when we were leaving. But other than that I would definitely recommend this place and already having my grandparents booking there soon. The room was very clean !
• Shannon (10/5): - This property had everything I needed for a one night stay…parking, comfortable sleeping accommodations, on-site parking and convenience to getting to the boardwalk. While parking is very tight, you are guaranteed one space per room. I was also able to check in and park before my room was ready. We just spent the day at the beach and came back and picked up keys and went right to the room.
• Janine (8/5): - Last minute getaway to OCNJ, grabbed the 'apt' and it was very large: full living room with 3 sofas, dining area, full sized kitchen, plus a separate bedroom and bath. The bed was small for the size of the room but worked well for my young son and myself and was comfortable. Bathroom very small and odd layout but again for a night, it was fine. There are 2 ac units for the apt, one in living space and one in bedroom. The bedroom one was a bit loud but was fine because it helped drown out the noise of neighboring rooms. Other reviewers noted walls were very thin, this is true, practically like sharing a room. Overall for a night or two, it worked perfect for us to walk up to the boardwalk and enjoy the beach. Parking can be tough (very small lot with some overflow parking we were told about but since we could walk everywhere we didn't have to move the car and lose our spot.)

• rafael (10/5): - The basics in a motel room. Double twin beds, mini fridge, microwave, tv and ac unit. The bathroom is a bit spacious and it was clean and ready when i checked in late afternoon. Parking is a bit tight but one can leave the vehicle ½ a block around the corner in a municipal lot. Check in was quick, there's a restaurant next door and the boardwalk is a block away. Dogs are welcomed with a fee. Enjoyed my stay in here.

The big corporate motels all feel the same, and they lack the personality and charm. That said, the door adjoining our room (105) with the adjacent room (106 I think) was paper thin and offered no sound buffer. The people in the next room weren't being loud, but it was as if they were carrying on their conversation in our room well into the night, making it impossible for us to get to sleep. When we checked out early this morning, we were worried that we would wake or disturb them. But aside from that, our stay was great! Thank you for an excellent weekend!
• Verified traveler (4/5): Not comfortable - The best thing about this place is it's walkable from the beach and that's it. There was no hot water. The A/C was set at 70 and won't go up, and it turns off every once in a while. It was very cold in the bathroom because of lack of heating.

Before we went there we read up about the wonderful hospitality of Greta and were certainly not disappointed. All in all a pleasant place to stay.

• Joan (10/5): October beach trip - The 40’s motel is holding up well with owners loving touches. The shower was upgraded with a stone style tile. Room had everything one would expect. Location good is great for families, a block from beach & boardwalk.
• Joy (4/5): - MOLD! NO PRIVACY!! No hot water to kitchen sink, couch leg broken, mold all over bathroom ceiling, no sink or mirror in bathroom. Sink in bedroom - the water wouldn’t drain. Hear every word of neighbors from an inside thin door and we could see their shadows walking by from inside our room from 1/2” gap to floor. TV was glued to table so couldn’t turn for different viewing angle. Outside lights lit up the room better than the actual lights inside. Pull out beds very uncomfortable.

We paid $600 and left early and didn’t even stay the second night because it was so bad. It was grungy, smelly and I didn’t feel good about hanging out in there. It served its purpose I guess but we won’t ever be staying there again.

• Franklin (10/5): Great stay for the price. - Contacted the hotel prior to the stay via hotels.com messenger and they answered my questions that I had. People there were very friendly and polite. We arrived early, was able to get parking as well as get into our rooms early. My initial concern for a lack of parking based off pictures was resolved as they said they had an overflow lot. Parking is tight, but that is the case with all hotel parking in OCNJ. It is conveniently located by Augies Waffles/Omelette that we frequent for breakfast and is a great spot. Found out we get 10% off at Augies for staying here. Room was a nice size, spacious. It had 2 beds that were both of different softness that worked in my favor. Our room had 2 mini fridges, that was nice if we had more stuff, but was not needed. Bathroom was up to date. Room itself you could tell they tried bringing it up to date, but the ceiling/walls are original but painted. The downside of this room that we had was the floors. Floors are obviously newer style laminate or vinyl floors. The floors were buckling upwards as if it had flooded at 1 point and never replaced. Weather stripping around door could be added to keep the cool dry air in and the warm humid air out. I also would have preferred an additional interior door locking device instead of just the knob lock. Overall, the stay was great. It served as a home base for us while in OCNJ. It is close to the boardwalk and other spots.

• Melanie (6/5): - Very nice, friendly, helpful staff, but room was pretty rough. Beds are old, lumpy and very squeaky. Walls are thin and had to listen to a kid (not a baby) screaming until midnight. Old school OC kitsch is funny at first, location is good but might look elsewhere next time.
• Kathy (4/5): Meh - I realize the motel is old, but the rooms need alot of upgrading and attention, especially for the price they charge. The room did not match the online photos at all. We also had an issue with bugs, there were several slugs crawling up the wall the air conditioner was on.
• Cynthia (8/5): - This motel was very clean and located a block from the boardwalk and beach. We only stayed one night so we chose this motel for the cheaper cost. The room was small, very tiny bathroom with only a small window for ventilation, so it gets very hot in the bathroom. Beds have thin mattresses and very uncomfortable. Only small microwave and small refrigerator. I knew to expect this because I read reviews, this would not be a place to stay for more than 3 people. Again was very clean which is important for me and good room for one night.
• Janis (8/5): - The room 103 We stayed in was perfect size for a quick getaway with 5 teenage boys. However if we were to stay for longer than one night I would prefer to go somewhere larger, with a pool and more updated. The floors were pulling up in the common area. Price and place was perfect for what we needed.
• NICK (10/5): Thumbs up - The C sands was very clean and well kept. Newly renovated space makes you feel comfortable. The staff was always around making sure everything was up to snuff. Quiet at night and friendly during the day. What more could you ask for. Except a pool. Haa haa

• Brett (8/5): Family Trip - Beds were not very comfortable. Anytime you moved, you could wake up the people across the street. Felt like we were “roughing it” for the two nights we stayed there. On site parking was very tight but they do have off-site parking. Liked that they give you beach access tags. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would stay there again for a night or two.

I went to the front desk to speak to the woman in charge she said it has been like this for 8 years and the owner doesn’t care because I asked to speak to him. I had my service dog with me and just wanted to give him cold water to drink. The woman at the desk did give me water for my dog but they should figure out how to fix this problem.
• Elizabeth (10/5): - Management and staff were extremely accommodating and happy to help. Motel was cute and retro. Rooms were spacious and very clean. It is apparent that renovations have been done and rooms were great for what we needed. Only complaint was the loud window air conditioning....but at least there was air conditioning! The motel was super close to boardwalk, beach, and plenty of restaurants! Would stay again!
• Jamie (4/5): - Stayed for 3 nights with my 2 boys. We barely slept, the room next to us was insanely loud and could hear absolutely everything through the door/walls. Lots of loud barking dogs. The TV barely worked, couldnt hear the tv unless the volume was on 100. The air conditioning unit never got too cold, even set at 66. Room was very hot!

• Sally (10/5): - Greta does a great job managing the Coral Sands. We always feel welcome when we check in and enjoy staying there. It's centrally located and within walking distance to the places we like to go. Being a block away from the boardwalk and beach is a real plus.

A good place to work that inspires loyalty in staff, translates to a good place to stay. People are respected and thus respectful of others, including customers.
