• Liz (2/5): - No breakfast that I was informed of. No closet, no hangers, no iron, no ironing board, no Kleenex tissue, no bath mat, no brochures to provide information about the hotel or any restaurants in the area. The receptionist spoke with us through a window as the walk-in office was closed. It was 4:30 p.m. when we checked ked in. I only saw brochures in the lobby when I handed in the key cards. No elevator.

• Mary E (7/5): It suited me. - It was quiet and clean. The manager is a kind, considerate person, as well. The bathroom light and fan came on automatically. I guess that's a plus for some guests, but I would have preferred to turn the light on myself, without any fan.

• Alisa (7/5): We were happy to have a nice, clean place to stay. - This was a holiday weekend and we were not expecting to find a nice place at a decent price. We were pleasantly surprised. The property was clean and the staff was friendly.

• spam (5/5): Great price comes at a cost - How close it was to Monterey, the price wasn't too bad, and the food nearby was okay. Parking was included w/ our stay. No closet for our room, the bathroom had no window, the view was below mid, and I saw a homeless sleeping in the alley.

• Julie (10/5): Super für Roadtrip - Die Zimmer sind zwar einfach eingerichtet, aber trotzdem gut ausgestattet und sehr sauber. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Parkplatz ist gratis. Wir sind sehr zufrieden und haben uns wohl gefühlt.

• Darrell (8/5): I would return to the Western Hotel - The Western Motel is a modest, independently owned hotel. Its staff is great and the rooms were very clean and fine, if basic. It is located in a section of Salinas where one is likely to hear Spanish before English, which I found enormously appealing. I had a great time this morning walking about, stopping in at a local smoothie place and then a restaurant for breakfast. My rating on value isn't really fair because of events going on at the nearby Leguna Sec racetrack, which seem to have filled all of the area's hotels and, it seemed, to have elevated their prices as well. Supply and demand sets price! I may have found the Western's price somewhat high, but not at all compared to prices set for rooms at better known hotels, which were 2-4 times more expensive.

Maybe a little under furnished in the rooms (only a folding chair and 1 night stand, no suitcase stand or anywhere to hang clothes), there was a refrigerator though. Great old school US highway type hotel for a night.

• Nicolas (7/5): Clean rooms and good location at a way too high pricetag - It was exceptionally clean and the bed was comfortable. Plus, it was right on our route. Friendly staff / owners. Good location. For nearly $200/night, you can expect a lot more than you get here. We spend many nights a year in hotels / motels and the pricetag on this room is just way too high: No table, which by the way wouldn’t have fit into the tiny room, no tissues and no coffeemaker.

• GILDARDO (1/5): Worst place to stay - The thing that i liked was the area because the motel was closer to where I had to go. I liked the fact that area is quiet. I was very upset because when I went to take a shower, there was no shower curtain. The worse part was the fact that there was no soap or anything to wash my Hands with. No shower curtain no soap. I had to run to store to buy soap. When I was checking out I talked to the people that own and work the office, didn’t even care when I mention that there was no shower curtain and soap. For the money they charge, I felt ripped off.

• Auburn (8/5): - It is small but was perfect for our needs. Clean, everything worked, and it was quiet. The only thing I wished for was the toilet to be less loud when flushing, the plumbing must be amazing as it flushes fast and powerful! We chose this motel last minute driving at night trying to find someplace affordable while still close to Monterey attractions. Had seen positive reviews about management, definitely seems to be the case. Recommended!

• Nicholas (7/5): Nice stay in Las Vegas - Obwohl es leicht in die Jahre gekommen ist, völlig in Ordnung für ein paar Nächte...der Weg zur MonoRail-Station ist nur kurz entfernt und die Zimmer sind geräumig und sauber!

• Guest (3/5): I would not recommend this place at the price they are asking. Much too expensive for SO little. - Not much. I was glad I had a place to sleep. The room was bare. literally had just a bed, nightstand and a folding chair. There was no desk, no closet, no comfortable place to sit.
