• John (2/5): - We got to the hotel to find out the rooms weren’t the ones we booked well in advance. The walk up pool looked nothing like the pictures showed. It was like a building site. We had to be located to another hotel.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Pretty average - To be truthful, there’s nothing really to “write home about” but for the price we paid (£35 a night) I think it’s pretty standard and would say it’s a cheap rate for a cheap hotel. When we came to the hotel, there was a lot of water in the reception area and a gecko in our bedroom. I’ve stayed in worse places! But they have a big bed & bath in the rooms. Location is good. Probably wouldn’t stay here again purely because I could find something better for a similar price.

Отличная ванная комната - где есть и душ и ванная. Есть балкон. + отличная уборка. + неплохой завтрак. + отличный wifi. Хватало чтобы полноценно работать с большими файлами. Отель в целом понравился, стильный и комфортный. но все равно витает легкое ощущение заброшенности, поломанный тренажор, неубранный мусор у бассейна (конечно же гости могли бы и убирать за собой, но все же) - вид из номера на стену и стройку. - лучше доплатить за вид на бассейн. - нет ресторана и обслуживания номеров - типа еды заказать. но вокруг много кафе и есть Grab). Жили 2 неделе и и в целом отель смело можно рекомендовать. Со скидками и промо мне проживание обошлось в 62$/сутки.
• Brett (8/5): - This is a nice hotel although I was disappointed in a few things. I was on the 4th floor and the WI-FI was intermittent and weak at times.....frustrating Got kicked off repeatedly. Often the staff seems to abandon the front desk. Twice I was down with a simple question or request and no one around. Also, noticed the same often while passing through. Asked the front desk if they had a taxi service they could arrange for me...said they did not. Strange, most hotels in Thailand can call you a taxi when needed, Had to go out on the street and find one. As I said, overall a good place, but a few things could use improvement.

The pool was refreshing but a little difficult to step down into and get out of with 2 very large steps. The location was perfect, quiet but close to restaurants and not far from the beach.

• Karina (8/5): Lovely room, good hotel - The room was beautiful and spacious. The shower and tub were grand. The bedding was wonderful, although the pillows were way too soft and lacked firmness. The power outlets were not in terribly convenient locations (I had to make coffee, and plug in my curling iron on the nightstand) but it wasn't a big deal. The hotel itself is right next to the night market and a restaurant with a lounge singer. The setup and breakdown for the night market can be pretty loud. And the lounge singer across the street can definitely be heard until about midnight so don't expect absolute quiet at nights (luckily, he's not a bad singer!) It's in a good location to the beach..maybe a 15 minute walk to Karon Beach with plenty of everything you may need on the way (restaurants, bars, shopping, currency exchange, liquor stores, pharmacies, massage parlors, tour companies)
• Verified traveler (6/5): Central town center location but needs maintenance - While the hotel has all the families and attractive design we witnessed a lot of small issues that reduced the comfort during our stay. The first room we got had a mouldy smell coming from the shower. They gave as another room but rushed us because this room was supposed to be given to the next guest, which means the hotel likely will not do anything to resolve the mould issue. Some other issues we faced with the new room: loud music from a nearby karaoke place until midnight, AC unit was extremely loud and a couple of min before we checked out someone entered our room without proper announcement while we were still there. Overall cleanliness was another issue. Some positive things to call out are the convenient location in the town center (a bit far from beach though), breakfast with large variety and free minibar restocking every day. Overall, this could be a decent hotel if management were more attentive and ensured flawless maintenance.
• Chan (6/5): Not 4 star - We arrived at evening time and only trainee ladies was present to assist in check in. There was no bell boy to help to carry luggage. The trainee push my luggage and my husband push another luggage. Do not feel like is a 4 star hotel standard. Nevertheless location and breakfast were great. There were mosquito in the room, got bite very soon we check in.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Housekeeping to be improved - Location was good with lots of food options and convenience stores around. Right beside the night market. But can be noisy when they're closing. My room was facing the night market and they were noisy through the night keeping and closing the stalls. Receptionists are friendly in general. But on my second night, we noticed that we were only given 2 sets of towels and all other toiletries when it's a room for 3. Called the reception at 5pm and reminded them again at 6pm. But when we came back after dinner at almost 9pm, it was still not replenished. When i called the recept, I was told that there was no housekeeping available at that time! Thereafter, i left a note on the table to remind the housekeeping staff that this is room for 3. Additionally, I find the pillow too soft n empty for a comfy sleep. For people who are more used to firm pillow, suggest to bring a neck pillow. Else, the breakfast spread was good esp the local hot food. quite a good spread of international and local and even pastries though i find them too soggy for my liking. Pool and gym are small, ended up only using for 15 mins.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Nothing Amazing-Great Location in Kata - Too many mosquito's in the room. They have no AC in the lobby, they leave the windows open which allows flies into the hotel. Pool was dirty and small. They only had 1 complimentary item in the minibar for 1 person, they should include 2 of each item. I had requested a pool access room prior to arriving and once I got there they informed me it was sold out. Glad I didn't get the room as the pool was a big disappointment. The beds were uncomfortable and sheets had stains on them. They need to remodel and clean the hotel more. Kata is a quieter area but the hotel is in a great location, with shops, spas and restaurants within walking distance. The beach was also near by, does require a walk by the sewerage (not a scenic walk at all). This place is OK nothing great to say but we were happy with the location.
• Leonardo Pascal (10/5): nice boutique hotel - Boutique hotel that is truly "boutique". Nice deco, nice design! Everything pleasant and enjoyable, including the clean swimming pool, the boxing room, and the smiling staff. Breakfast simple, but plenty and tasty.
• Ian (10/5): Perfect Choice - Perfect choice for a 5 day scuba diving trip. Staff were welcoming and friendly. They even helped me dry my diving boots by putting them in a sunny location to dry!! Breakfast was good with fresh omelettes cooked to order. Was in a good location and found a nice place to eat on every night.

The rooms are very spacious ,comfortable and have everything you need. The food is great and very reasonable compared to outside the hotel and no extra cost for room service. The reception staff were very helpful when I needed help with some Thai business. I'd definitely recommend this hotel!
• Gabe (6/5): Nice but have mosquitoes - Everything was nice, except there were mosquitoes in the room, we knocked out some, but they seem to keep coming, we suspect it is during housekeeping, where they leave the door open, that is when more mosquitoes come in. We stayed in 2208, and everyday we tried to knock out some mosquitoes.
• neil (8/5): Nice hotel in good location - On arrival the staff were very helpful, room was big enough and clean. Pool is lovely and the rooms overlook the pool area. The hotel is in a good location but about 15 min walk to beach, plenty of restaurants and bars about, the hotel is set back from busy street so quiet. The room had a damp smell so we advised reception and they changed our room no problem. Would stay here again but the damp smell needs to be rectified.
• Leon (6/5): Nice Hotel but staff need further training - The Sugar Marina brand meant that there are two Sugar Marinas in Kata. Sugar Marina - Fashion is a short walk to the beach. Sugar Marina - Surf is about a 500 metre walk to the beach. Online maps proved to be deceiving. Our check in was good and we liked our pool view room despite having little privacy on the verandah. My main problem with the hotel was the fact that no one cleaned up empty plates around the pool with our plates from one day not being removed until the next day. This was not an isolated incident and happened every day we stayed at the hotel. The other issue was with the staff member who was seating people for breakfast. The lady seated sole travellers at 4 seat tables leaving families like mine to be seated at two seat tables. When we moved to a four seat table prior to eating the staff member appeared to be furious that she had to clean the new table we had sat down at. This was her job. Seat people and clean tables. You don't leave dishes sitting on empty tables just because no one else has come in. The location of the hotel is quite good as a lot of dining and bar options have now moved to the northern end of Kata Beach. A few small fixes required to improve the rating of this hotel.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel, with great staff! - We would like to send our heartfelt thanks to the staff for making our stay from 12 March to 15 March 2017 a memorable one. Special thanks to Ging and Oil for always being there with a smile on their faces, welcoming us back to the hotel after a long day exploring the island. They were the ones who created an amazing experience for us. Ging and Oil were accommodating with our requests and provided us with recommendations on the good eateries nearby. Housekeeping also did a fantastic job, ensuring that the rooms were in mint condition, and always ready with a smile and a greeting when bumped into them along the corridor. However, staff at breakfast could be slightly more pleasant and to smile more. Breakfast selection was good and sufficient. Location was good, alot of eateries nearby, walking distance to the beach. Not as crowded as Patong. Items in the mini bar (a can of beer, sneaker bar, water, etc) was complimentary and replenished daily. Overall, a great experience at Sugar Marina Surf!

• Verified traveler (10/5): GREAT LOCATION - SUPER NICE BREAKFAST - CLEAN AND - The hotel is highly recommended, has everything you need for a relaxing holiday in Kata beach which is only 5minutes away by foot. Staff were great and the hotel was clean. The breakfast is a treat as it had a wide range of options; fro thai food to chinese food to european continental breakfast.

Room was a good size with high ceilings, great shower, comfy bed and nice balcony. Overall the building is in good condition. Some things could do with a touch up but nothing much. Location is close to the beach and shops and restaurants. Would highly recommend.
• Jo (6/5): Quiet hotel - 10 to 15 min walk from hotel to beach. Quiet, nothing much to do at night. Limited shopping nearby. Plenty of massage parlors. Few restaurants nearby. There's a outdoor seafood area that sells fresh seafood. Price not fixed can be discounted if you smile sweetly ^^ Hotel is clean but bed not very comfortable i find (really depends on body type i guess). Small and clean hotel pool. Pool access was convenient. Breakfast spread was limited choices. It would be better if more options were given. Mini bar was pathetic. 1 beer 1 soft drink 1 juice 2 bottles of water n 1 chocolate bar for 3 person. Just better to buy from 7-11 instead.

Seamless check in/ out processes and lovely staff members were always smiling and flexible with requests. Location easy to find and minutes from amenities. Check out the restaurant and bar flanking the hotel on both sides for decent local food and then a nightcap!

Late night front desk staff was rude in a few instances, but great stay overall. Would stay again and highly recommend.

We complained to the front desk, but were told that we were complained of talking too loud. The next morning, we woke up and talked, the next door knocked and yelled again, making us so frustrated.

• Man Teng (4/5): Bad experience for the hotel service - I had a bad experience with my family stay in this hotel. We have booked 4 rooms together and mentioned that same floor. At the end, 4 rooms are on different floor and even different block. This is really never happened for my trips before. The attitude of the reception is bad and impolite. We asked for changing the room to same floor or same block. They just rejected just because they need to clean the room again. I really wonder they don't need to clean the room after the guest check out? The most disappointed thing is about the check out. When I checked out, I just passed my room key to the reception and the reception said that I lost their beach mat immediately. This is ridiculous. I just passed my room key to them for check out, they said that I lost their thing without checking my room. I also dun believe they have enough time to check my room clearly just in only one second. The reception just keep on ask me to pay money for that beach mat. I won't stay at this hotel for the next time. This is the worst hotel experience amoung all of my trips.
• Jing (10/5): Nice hotel - Location was good for families, not really close to anything but that's Phuket in general so not a big problem. Room was very nice and amenities like beach towels/beach mats were very useful. Hotel staff was nice for the most part, limited English though. Our room was beside a big air con machine or something so there was a continuous loud humming at night. Overall no problems, would stay again.

• Silvia (4/5): horrible stay - After months of hard working I decided to go on a getaway. Arriving I asked for a king size bed. They said they would put to twin beds together but it would be fine. Not! Because of the headboard when putting the beds together a gap remained between the mattress and the headboard. At night l had to put 2 pillows in the gap order to be able to sleep without my pillow falling into it. The sheets were also twins put together. I ordered a seafood salad while waiting for the room. Beef salad came instead. As I was very hungry I said I would eat it however the beef was so hard I could not chew it. I told the waiter it was not good and that I was returning it. At check out they charged for the salad. I explained the situation to the front office manager and she said that if I didn't pay, the waiter would have to pay! I just couldn't believe. Also I asked for remommendations to dine out and they only give names of the restaurants within the chain. Terrible!!!!! I had to go to other hotel and ask the concierge for a tip. Never again!!!! I would not recommend at all!!!!
• Swee Chen (8/5): "free" minibar was not what we expected - The "free minibar refill daily" was not what we expected at all. It consisted of 2 bottles of water, 1 can of beer, 1 coke, 1 juicebox, and 1 snicker bar. That's not a standard minibar. They didnt clean our room the last day of our room, so they didnt refill the minibar apparently. Other than the minibar, everything was new and clean. Food in the cafe was not bad.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Great Value! - Wonderful hotel. Very convenient and great value for the price. For a few dollars extra, we had a wonderful breakfast included every morning. The staff was kind and the facilities were beautiful.
• Verified traveler (4/5): - I'm pretty shocked by this hotel's decent rating. First their wifi is terrible and only works sometimes, the front doesn't care about you as a guest at all. Sorry for the inconvenience when I asked for a taxi to take me to the airport. Not to mention I couldn't sleep at all because of this weird singing for 5 hours each night. Oh and the bed is a big bed (two small mattresses to make a large one) which are uneven. Multiple guests commented on the same while I stayed there so it seems like they really don't care for our business.
• Lisa (8/5): Great Value - Sugar Marina Surf was a cute, clean hotel about a 5 minute walk to the beach. There are many restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk. The breakfast food was okay, nice to have the omelet station. Overall a great value for the price.
• Neville (10/5): Great accomodation - Stayed 4 nights in a pool access room excellent with no complaints , great location , clean, modern, free wifi, free snickers, water and a beer daily, good breakfast, modern, bath, beach 5 min, would stay again but only book on line as we booked two days and when we extended by another two days it cost 40% more
• Megan (6/5): - Pros: Front desk staff was very helpful and nice at check in. They showed me where everything is and answered all my questions I had throughout my stay. The hotel is beautifully decorated and has a great pool. They have a free mini bar in the room with water, juice, coke, beer, and candy bar that's replenished daily. It is in a great location to walk to the night market, get a massage, or grab a bite to eat and less than 10 minute walk to the beach. Breakfast has a good amount of choices but tastes just average. Cons: The gym looks nice but 3 out of the 4 machines weren't working properly, and there is only cardio machines. So with no weights and only 1 machine it was a total disappointment. On the second day of my stay I had left the sign up to have my room cleaned from 10am till 5pm and they never came. The wifi signal in my room went out a lot and I couldn't even get my tablet to connect to it for my whole stay because the signal was so low. The bed seemed really comfortable at first but in the middle of the night I rolled over and got woken up by the springs in the mattress poking me in the back. And the air conditioner was the loudest of any place I've stayed at so far in my 3 weeks in SE Asia. Overall It was ok but I probably wouldn't stay there again. There are plenty of other places to stay at in the area that I would try instead

• Verified traveler (6/5): Double check - Hotel is pleasant and clean. Reception staff froendly and helpful. Pool view room was very comfortable and modern. Gym is non existant, personally believe the boxing room should make way for a multi gym as its never been used. Two bikes and a tradmill isnt a fitness centre! Purchased a room with breakfast and mini bar via expedia however expedia never confirmed booking as such so ended up argueing this out at the hotel which isnt the best start to a short break. Issues wasnt resolved even after several calls to expedia.... Apparently this isnt unusual the hotel manager informed us. Hotel not at fault. All in all hotel is good value for money with no complaints just checked your confirmation from expedia.
• Laura-Jo (10/5): lovely hotel,highly recommended - All staff were very helpful,room was excellent,food from restaurant fantastic. The only slight downside was that the mini bar was unlimited but there was only one of everything.It would make sense to have at least 2 of everything in there so a couple can make use of it all.

• Marina (8/5): New & Nice hotel - New hotel in a strategic & convenient location, but, not by the beach. Overall, quite a big room with cold A/C, but, hot shower not too fast come through, and not too hot. Floor a bit slippery when wet due to the floor tiles, so just be careful. Anyway, love the pool access room and daily refill fridge with drinks & a chocolate bar, pretty good for value for the money paid. Breakfast a bit boring, not too much choices.

The daily refilled mini bar was a real plus... The pool access from the room was great... Lastly, the same black spot on the quilt cover stared at us throughout the stay...
• Leanne (10/5): Best hotel stay in Thailand - Absolutely loved this hotel and will definitely stay again. We stayed in a pool access room. The room was spacious and well decorated. The bed was the most comfortable we have slept on in the whole of Thailand. The staff were excellent, the breakfast was excellent and the room service/pool food menu was well priced. It is at the Northern end of Kata which is not the end we usually stay at but it is surrounded by lots of restaurants, bars and massage parlours so you will not want for anything.

• Gary (8/5): Free mini bar replenished daily - Checking in was smooth, despite our early arrival before 11 am (could be due to non peak period). The view is not great if you are given a room from the 1st to 4th floor facing the hills. What you get to view is the top of the night market tents just behind the hotel. The highest level is the 5th floor. One thing that stands out is the free minibar which is replenished daily. Basic toiletteries, bathrobes, 2 umbrellas, bedroom slippers, kettle, torch light are also provided. The "free breakfast" has quite a few variety, including hot food (local & western), bread, Danish/buns/muffins, cereals, local fruits, and yogurt. But, they are the same variety every morning, except for 1 or 2 hot food items. Internet connection could have been better. The wifi is free but the connection is often interrupted. Toilet papers are of poor quality type, resulting in wastage and inconvenience. Cistern in the room (2402) was faulty, resulting in water wastage. Service quality depends on who are on duty during the day/ night. A few are friedly and helpful, but a few are not that good.
• Verified traveler (10/5): - Stayed in Phuket for 3 days and picked Kata beach as I was looking for a quiet time after spending so many days in Bangkok. The hotel itself is very modern, clean and very safe. The staff is very lovely and the breakfast buffet delicious. I did enjoy the pool very much as well as the gym. Unfortunately, they closed the boxing area before the indicated closing time therefore if it happens make sure to complain at the front desk. The hotel is close to the beach but I enjoyed the pool more than the beach itself. It is in the city center therefore a lot of restaurants and shops around. Beware of the Oriental Spa massage place 4 businesses down on the right of the hotel as they were the worst tourist scam artists I have met in my entire trip of Thailand.
• Sarah (8/5): Fantastic service!! Money for value - Service from Hotel was 5 star! Room was clean and free mini bar daily, lovely breakfast although food can be hotter. Its close to everything from Kata market every Monday and Thursday to scooter hire just outside left hand corner, ask for cat shes nice. Coffee Club down the road and Pizza company, Orientail Massage was great just 1 min walk from hotel. Kata beach is really dirty, theres rubbish everywhere so better to go to Laron beach which is 10-15min walk or better just hire a scooter for 200-259 bhat. Would recommend if ur not staying in hotel all the time and enjoy exploring around. Its totally worth paying a little extra for Delux pool view room!
• Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely room, just need to fix wifi. - Nice hotel although very quiet. Wifi was not good and kept cutting out, which was frustrating. Was asked on check in to email them my reservation which was very strange and not what you want to have to deal with after travelling for hours, especially when the wifi is rubbish. Overall a beautiful room and hotel.
• SITI SYAHIRAH (10/5): Outrageous - Just a splendid stay there with my boyfriend, having our pool excess room plus friendly staffs around helping with our aircon remote control on first night. Didn't expect room to be very spacious and as beautiful as it seen online. Good job! As for breakfast, we hope there is more variety day to day but food is nicely cooked and warm as served. I'm planning for another trip to Phuket and definitely staying there again this time round!
• Julius (8/5): Good Location but not crowded - Good location, not crowded as what we are looking since we're in honeymoon mode. Very near to restaurant, massage parlor, tour package shop, convenient store and many more.
• Sonny (8/5): Great hotel but avoid the food - We stayed here for 3 nights in May 2015... When we arrived at the hotel the service was great,. The room was clean and very well equipped.... Huge bed, very nice bathroom with both shower and bath... A beach bag with matts and towels to lay on at the beach, umbrella incase it rained, robes for the room, complimentary mini bar etc etc... A great room, we were very comfortable for a good price... The one thing that spoiled the hotel was the food, on the last night we ordered room service... A Pad Thai and a Salmon fillet with the trimmings... My other half had the salmon and said that she wasn't sure about it whilst eating it... Sure enough 2 hrs later she was being sick... The Pad Thai was dry and pretty inedible. When the bill came we refused to pay for those 2 dishes which after a while was accepted... It spoiled the hotel a little for us but I would still recommend the hotel, it was great. Just eat elsewhere!

• Jade (10/5): Very modern, very clean. Great easy hotel - I thoroughly enjoyed my 9 nights in this hotel. I stayed in a few other hotels while in and around Phuket and this hotel was by far the best. I didn't take the beach shortcut so it was about a 10 min walk to the beach which really isn't a very long walk. Lots of restaurants, massage parlours, shops around. Very clean, modern, kind staff, all you could want in a hotel.
• Saurabh (8/5): Good clean hotel with nice pool area! - Nice hotel with good amenities. However, it is very much a couples and families hotel. So if you are travelling with friends and looking for a social scene, not necessarilly the best option for you. Otherwise a nice place to stay! My only bug would be that the staff need to become a little more flexible to ensure guest comforts and convenience are maintained.

• Verified traveler (10/5): You'll be happy you stayed here - Overall we stayed four nights. We was greeted by friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast had so much variety and our chosen style of eggs were cooked in front of us. Rooms are spacious, clean and include beach towels and mats. The hotel is a 15 min walk from Kata beach and you have to walk past a smelly river to get there so I would recommend a 20 min walk to Karon beach which is much prettier. I would definitely stay again.

• Stuart (10/5): You get more than it says on the wrapper. Great - My 8 day stay was very comfortable, the rooms are not large but have all you need and more. In addition to everything in the discription you are provided with beach towels and beach mats and a beach bag. The only draw back was the limited hanging space for clothing, but do we need them all ? The breakfast and the disposition of the staff were well above my expectations. I would also recomend using the Hotel transport from and to the airport. On investigation we found it was better value than when others got when haggling with local drivers.
