Guest Reviews
- Ned (8/5): Okay right now - It was an older motel that was in the process of remodeling and was lacking some of the furniture. I asked the manager for a microwave and he loaned his. He has only been there 2 1/2 months and working hard to improve the place.
- Mary (6/5): - Room(s) were very bare. Just a bed. No electrical outlets except for the TV, and microwave. The one bedroom had one, and it didn’t work.
Maybe under construction, but very lacking!!
- 952chelsyc (2/5): Horrible - Gross right across from the remnants of tent city I actually puked when I discovered this not to mention the woman who runs and operates this place has salad finger nails ewe I will not recommend and never ever stay here if my last life dependent on it
- Nancy (6/5): - The room needed a lot of work. The bathroom floor was dirty, the shower taps were loose, and it was obvious that the owners had not spent any money on the motel for decades. The photo suggests that it is old but reasonably well cared for, but this is deceptive.
- JenniferL802 (8/5): Great staff - We booked the hotel for 2 nights, mostly because we like quirky hotels, This one was perfect for us.
On arrival, we were met with open arms by Tracie, the very helpful manager. We needed to wash our clothes as we'd been travelling for a week and though there is no guest laundry, Tracie offered us the hotel laundry. Once washed, she moved it into the dryer for us and even brought it to our room once done. She couldn't have been more helpful.
Good free Wifi.
Yes, the hotel is old and a bit rundown but the beds are clean and I had a very good sleep in my freshly washed PJs. Tracie was fabulous, warm, helpful and kind, just perfect after a week of travel.
If you want luxury - there are plenty of expensive choices in town, but for us, this was a goodchoice.
- streeson (2/5): Awful experience and rude staff - Stayed here one night, checked in around 9pm. By 1pm the rooms phone rang and it was the staff member who happened to now be drunk and asking me to leave. She then proceeded to threaten me and used some horrific language. I happily left but would have preferred to still be sleeping in the room I had already paid for.
- Doug (2/5): Run down and unsafe - Mold in bathroom
No hot water can’t shower
Rough neighbourhood
Wifi doesn’t work
Needs to be totally renovated
Poor value for money paid
Clerk was friendly, clean sheets and nothing negative towards her.
Avoid it.
- Amrod_x (4/5): Not good - If you arrive in Nanaimo using the ferry this motel is very near. We choose it for this reason. It is located very near to the road and you have to close your windows to not hear the cars. In the other side there is the terrace that is shared with all the other rooms and we smell the stinky sigarette smoke from here. The room seems old and not so tidy but, fortunately, the bed sheets were clean. One night was enough...
- Verified traveler (6/5): 2017 Roadtrip - Rooms smelt musty. Bathroom could have been cleaner.
- Roberto (8/5): Not bad. - Not bad.
- Dewey (6/5): this motel is easy to find. but cars noise effect - this motel is easy to find. but cars noise effect my sleep overnight. only make the cup of coffee but not tea.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Filthy... - We did not have any idea that a hotel could be so bad. When we were checked in, that place had too much smoke smell. We stayed here just for one night. The room and the washroom had intolerable bad smell (like dead rat). In washroom there were no hot water supply. No toiletries. We used our own sleeping bag for sleeping due to unhygienic environment. We were waiting for the sunrise so that we can leave this filthy room as soon as possible. This hotel listing must be removed from the Expedia.
- Verified traveler (2/5): terrible bugs - The room itself is good. But there are some terrible bugs which could bite you when you are sleeping can cause itch for days.
- 564derekm (8/5): Older motel but owners are very nice - Stayed here a night in August after a late flight. Our plane was delayed a bit so didn't arrive until after midnight. The owner was waiting for us and checked us in quickly. The rooms aren't like a Marriott hotel but the beds were comfy, everything was functional, and the room temperature was good. We were leaving first thing in the morning so a good sleep was all we needed, and at $80 for 4 of us, it was perfect.
- Debbie (2/5): Crooks!! Didn't answer door and gave no refu - We booked with hotels.com we arrived at about 2am and no one there. they did not answer the phone or door bell.We could here their phone ringing through the glass door. Called hotels.com who tried to call with no answer. They did not provide us this service at all and refuse to give us a refund. They are crooks. NO ONE should ever ever stay here! I will probably never use hotels.com either someone needs to be held responsible if they don't provide you the service. Very very disappointed in how they can rip people off.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Cheap room - Room was ok... Privacy was an issue as when u open the door anybody outside can see who is on the bed. Bed very squeaky.
Overall the room was clean and bed comfortable.
- Alvin (6/5): - it's a nice place to stay over night
- Brian (10/5): Inexpensive but very very clean - I would definitely go back. For the price, excellent. Extremely clean.
- Verified traveler (6/5): First time there was good . - Found this place very affordable and clean . Will be back here again next time I need a hotel in this immediate area .
- Joan (2/5): Take a pass on this place - There was a mouse in the bathtub. Someone had done repairs in the bathroom, painted or caulked over the bad job and now there is grime in the lousy repair.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Weekend getaway - Great if you are not in the room too much. The bed was comfortable but the couch not as much. It was the perfect location for us near the ferry terminal and the disc golf course.
- Stephen (6/5): Value stop, conveniently placed. - Cheaper motel in an older section of town, right on the road. It is definitely old, a bit run down but everything was clean and it worked. The bed was good enough to sleep upon but the couch hurt my back to sit on for more than five minutes.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good Value - Clean, comfortable and basic. The rooms had everything you need, and the couple at the front desk were nice and helpful. Easy walk to downtown.
- Leah (2/5): Will never comeback - Bed is uncomfortable. The place is smelly. Microwave is dirty. Front desk doesn't know anything about hospitality industry. Place are rusty. Will never come back
- Viatlii (8/5): Clean and quiet motel - Pretty clean and quiet motel. Lived there for three days, towels and accessories were replaced daily.
- Hergest3 (4/5): Sketchy - Kind of a creepy vibe but had some character. Nice people at the front desk. Interesting rickety balcony. Scary couch in the room; it had seen better days. Weird smell in the room. Cheap rates so you get what you pay for.
- amyUKemyTZ (2/5): Too Much Effort to Send an Email Confirmation - I unfortunately never had the chance to stay here as an injury prevented me from flying. Hence I am commenting on the service received in cancelling the trip.
As soon as I knew the trip would be cancelled, I sent an email so that the manager could re-let the room. Several days later, I had not received a reply, so called instead, where I was informed that it had been cancelled already but we had just not been informed. I asked for an email confirming the cancellation as it was required by my insurance company, to which the reply was "you want to put me to work for no money?"
As I said at the start I cannot comment on the rooms, but the service leaves a lot to be desired.
- jalowan (6/5): Great value for an overnight! - We were cautious as past reviews of this motel were sketchy and the outside of the building is a bit run down, so asked to see a room before we paid. Were very pleasantly surprised with a clean suite for a great price with a balcony overlooking a park and waterfall in Nanaimo. Friendly and helpful reception.
