La luz blanca muy estresante para los ojos. El personal era amable pero no hablaban absolutamente nada de ingles entonces podía llegar a ser dificil la comunicación.

• Robert (8/5): - For the price, this place was good. The room was fine, the shower not as hot as I'd like but it works. Bed was firm but I found it comfortable. Not much sound insulation, from the hall or the outside, but it's a quiet little neighborhood, around the corner from covered market and commercial street. Cozy place.

• Mike (8/5): I enjoyed that place a lot. the location is quiet. - It's in a very quiet location, which is great. It is clean. I didn't notice any of the problems described by the other reviewers. I had a pretty big balcony. The bed was very comfortable. Usually in Asia beds are much harder than in Europe or America, but that one wasn't too hard. Many places in Thailand have walls that are less sound-proof (comparing for example to many places in Vietnam) but there were no real problems in this hotel. Occiasionally I could here muffled voices (or tv) from the other room but it wasn't a problem, it's quite normal in many places. Also the windows were giving pretty good sound isolation (keep in mind that 99.9% windows in Asia are single glazed). The problem mentioned by some reviewer about too much outside noise may be related to the fact that usually the staff leave the windows opened (and only anti-mosquitos net frame is closed). So first check if the windows are really closed. There is a big fridge but it would be great to have electric kettle in the room.

• Derbyshire (9/5): Great value stay just outside the centre (10 mins car) - Large room with premium though dated fittings. Really comfortable bed. Probably has a memory foam topper. The location is good for those who have transport and there is the very authentic Nong Hoi wet market just a two minutes walk. A kettle and tea/coffee making is the only notable absence in the room, though there are facilities downstairs.

• Anindya (7/5): Good - The place is outside of Chiang Mai old town (you have to rent a scooter or order Bolt) so quiet, with a local market and 7-11 accessible by foot. The room was quite clean and big! They have a garage for scooters. The receptionist and the manager don't speak English well but simple communication was okay. It was THE HARDEST mattress we've ever slept in ... The first few nights, it was a nightmare. They only clean the room and give water bottles when you ask (so ask away!)
• Michael (10/5): Excellent value for money. Our favourite place to stay for our Thailand trip. - Very clean hotel with good space and closeby to great spots to eat, shop and things to sightsee. There are 4 floors/levels. Easy check out at any time with simple key drop off in the box provided by the main access door. There is a coin operated washing machine available to use for 50 baht. There is no elevator but only 4 floors which are easy to access. The pillows are kind of hard making it a bit difficult for me to sleep.

• Reeve (1/5): ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE - NOTHING I arrived late in the evening and checked in, when I got to my room I found ants and bugs where all over the floor and also all over the bed even on the pillows (I have pictures and videos to prove). the place was absolutely filthy and completely unliveable, I then went down to reception to show them and ask to check out and for a refund. They checked the room and also took photos of it but refused to give me my money back. I would give this place 0 stars if possible. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

• Verified traveler (4/5): Bad bedding, will not recommend - Bed, pillow and towel too old and mattress too hard. Internet from an other age... Good big fridge if you need. Access quite narrow. Not a hotel, rather an apartment/room for rent.
• Ilonka (8/5): Spacious and very clean hotel - We staid at the Le Viengpeng for 11 nights during Christmas/New year 2014/2015 and loved it. It is a bit outside of the city along the road leading to Lamphun. It is locate behind the Nonghoy market. The room was big and very clean with free WiFi, cable TV and a big refrigerator. For the WiFi one has to get a new code every 3 days from the receptionist. Its a bit difficult to communicate as very few employees speak some english but ones we figured out how to get around we were ok anyway. Some suggestions: take a business card from th ehotel to show the tuck tuck or taxi or bus driver when you need to go home or just tell them Holiday Inn and from there you can direct them the last few hundred meters to the hotel. Also ask if they have a door sign for making the room. Our room wasn't always done when we came home and since we always took our keys with us they may have missed seeing us leaving. But the people in the hotel are very friendly and try to help as much as possible. In the end we were happy not to be in the noisy city and for all the trips we booked we were picked up from the hotel. Despite what I was reading on Tripadviser there is no tour desk or any brochures for trips. But we picked those up on our very first day walking around in the city and then called the various agencies up to book our tours. Everyday we had a big bottle of water in the fridge and there was free coffee in the morning available in the lobby area.
