Guest Reviews
- Shuhua (10/5): -
- Derek (8/5): - The Girl that checked us in, served the food and checked us out the next day was great. I feel like she’s the only person that works there lol.
It was great to have a private hot tub. Only complaint was the kitchen area in the cabin smelt like seafood but at least the sleeping areas did not.
- Suzanne (8/5): - We stayed for three nights and the accommodations were comfortable. But the front desk/customer service was lacking in both visibility and accessibility. Perhaps in the off-season when there aren’t as many visitors, they just concentrate on when the restaurant is open from 5 PM to 9 PM. We ate there twice and the food was great. It was great to step outside to your own hot tub also.
- Petar (10/5): - A lovely place to stay, very quiet and clean + great breakfast.
- Jacqui (10/5): - We had a lovely stay in our cottage.
- julie (10/5): Great friendly place to stay. - We were only going to stay for a day, it was an emergency stop because my wife was feeling ill. I spoke with Frida and Ragnar and they were so helpful with our needs. We decided to make their place out home base for the next 4 days. The room we had bosted a sauna that helped get my wife better. Frida and Ragnar had true country charm and made our stay memorable. We would most definitely stay here again on our next visit to iceland!
- Dr (6/5): No frills here but adequate - Great location between Selfoss and the must sees of Gulfoss, Geysir and Thingvellir. Chalet style accommodation.
A bit dated. Bedroom which has a double and single bunk above very small with bud against wall.
Kitchen within living area. Kettle but no teabags or coffee. If you are staying bring your own and some basic provisions for breakfast.
Restaurant on site was ok for dinner but breakfast only available if pre-arranged.
- Tracy (8/5): - Very cute and very clean. Would have liked a selection of tea made available. Also, had trouble keeping the temperature up in the hot tub.
- jennifer (10/5): Geothermal harnessed hot tub - Grothermal hot tub all to our very new fresh and clean cabin. Great place to stay in Iceland. The onsite restaurant had happy hour and amazing food!
- Tiffany (8/5): Little Cabin In The Woods - Charming little cabin in the woods feel. Facilities feel a bit older, but okay for a short stay. Our cottage had a larger bed with a single bunk built above it. A little tight for 3 adults, but would be perfect for parents and a teen/kid. Bunch of cottages situated together with a few shared public hot tubs in the middle. Check-in was friendly and helpful.
- Nicholas (10/5): - Loved our stay in these fab little cottages. Very cosy with all necessary facilities and brilliant having a private hot tub to soak in after a long day exploring! Extremely quiet and well located for all golden circle activities
- Jessica (8/5): - We enjoyed staying here! Great location, having a personal hot tub was great and the cottages are fairly large inside.
- Rachel (10/5): - Lovely cabin that suited our family of 6 perfectly. The hot tub was a great bonus! Excellent location and good facilities.
- Ashley (10/5): - We loved our stay in our cute cabin with a private hot tub. The patio had a table that was perfect for coffee and dinner. Kitchen had everything we needed. Beds were a little hard but not bad. The bathroom was a little small and the curtain does not keep the water in the shower. Perfect location for the golden circle. The secret lagoon was only 30min from there as well. We loved how quiet it was and beautiful scenery.
- Inna (10/5): - Lovely spacious bungalow, very private. Has kitchen. We stayed there in the way to hiking in the mountains.
- Nick (10/5): - We stayed in a one-bedroom cabin and absolutely loved it. The room was spotless and cozy, and we were pleasantly surprised to find a brand-new couch and flat-screen TV, both of which looked older in the photos, so the upgrade was a nice touch.
One of our favorite things was that the hot tub was always open. Sitting in it at 2 a.m. with nothing but quiet around was such a relaxing experience.
Although we didn’t eat at the restaurant, the menu looked excellent and we’d definitely consider it next time.
The highlight of our stay was the outstanding front desk staff, two incredibly friendly and helpful guys who went above and beyond. They even created a quiet space for me in the lobby to take a conference call, knowing we had kids with us and the cabin might get noisy. I think one of the guys names was Martin.
Highly recommend this place and would absolutly come back!
- Heather (10/5): - Loved this spot; our whole group did! The pull-out couch was comfy for our movie night in, and we thoroughly enjoyed the hot tubs which were super clean and very warm.
We would absolutely recommend this place to anyone seeking a quiet, lovely place to lay their head. My only recommendation to the property would be to add some curtains over all the windows to snuff the little bit of midnight sun that comes through the edges/slats.
Thanks for having our group!
- daryl (10/5): - Great property for families
- Han-Ping (6/5): - Very little space, very small room. The condition of the cottages are not as good also. Staff were friendly and helpful though
- Claudia (10/5): - We had a nice time at this property. All bedrooms had bunkbeds; double below and twin above. We enjoyed the hot tub on the deck and the kitchen and sitting area was great. They offer laundry. Horse riding is available 5 min from this location.
- Ekta (10/5): - Clean and spacious cottage! Very amazing and helpful staff.
- Eric (8/5): - Nice location and cozy cottage, but sleeping arrangements were not ideal for a family. Two rooms with double lower bunk and single upper bunk. Had expected two rooms with double beds and a bunk bed in another area. Also, sofa had a pair of underwear under the cushions from previous guest
- Jennifer (6/5): - The cottages were outdated and strongly recommend at least upgrading beds/mattresses and getting screens in windows. we roasted in the room because we were advised not to open window due to the bugs. Would have been a bit more manageable if we could have opened windows. Staff was nice, check in was easy. Did not eat the breakfast but didn’t look impressive when checking out! 1 of the 3 hot tubs were open but due to bugs, we opted not to use.
- Kevin (10/5): Pleasant stay in Iceland - We enjoyed our stay here. It was centrally located for the various sites we wanted to see during our brief stopover in Iceland. The cabins were charming. We would have liked to have had blackout curtains in the living room and not just the bedroom, but everything was clean and comfortable. The workers were friendly; we'd recommend staying here.
- Irena (10/5): - The best place we've stayed in Iceland so far! The cottage was clean, charming, and well-serviced. And the onsite restaurant was great, too!
- Basavaraj VEERABHADRAPPA (10/5): - We had a great relaxing stay!
- alejandro villa (6/5): - The space was technically clean. There was a strong smell of fried fish we could not air out. We did not meet any staff members throughout the stay but they did respond to messages.
- carole (10/5): - Great cottages in a lovely setting with a hot tub.
- Celina (10/5): - Cute cabin and property. Loved having our own hot tub and an oven to cook some dinners at home.
- Cheryl (10/5): - Clean, nice reception area, restaurant on site. Liked having a cottage with amenities - and available hot tub. Breakfast was not available at this time of season
- Michael (10/5): Fantastic place to stay. - A fantastic place to stay, and a brilliant base for the sights of south Iceland. Friendly staff and the room itself had everything you could need for the price, plus a little bit more. Had to use the spare duvet as a pillow, as I like a firm pillow, but that's more personal preference.
- GERALD (10/5): Comfortable cottage in the Golden Circle - We stayed there two nights during road trip around Iceland. We were there in the first week of February, so very off season. The attached restaurant was closed for the season, but we knew that going in. Our room was nicely heated and the hot tub was filled and ready to go, which was nice. The cottage was comfortable with enough room for four adults and a decently equipped kitchen. It is located in the Golden Circle so it was easy to get to all the sites we wanted to see in the area. We would definitely stay there again
- Andrew (8/5): Comfortable cottage - We spent 3 nights at this cottage for exploring parts of the Golden Circle. The cottage was a perfect home away from home. It had the necessary amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The dining and living room areas were a decent size for a family of 4-6 people. The bunk bed and pillows weren’t the most comfortable. There were no housekeeping as this is a stand alone cottage which we were fine with. The main restaurant was closed during our stay. The location was nice as it was off the main highway yet there were plenty of privacy. The hot tub was the cherry on top! Overall, I would recommend this place.
- David (10/5): - Lovely people and good location. Hot tub in the snow was fun.
- Alexandra (10/5): - Everything was amazing about the property.
- Michelle (10/5): - The cottage met our expectations. We wanted a rural location with a hot tub and centrally located in the Golden Circle. This was exactly what we got. Staff was very responsive to our questions and asks. I would definitely come back to this location again.
- Joseph (10/5): - Great place, wish I had stayed here my entire stay in Iceland. Decent restaurant and close to so much on the south east side of the Island, even Vic was on 1 1/2 hour drive away
- Dara (8/5): - Nice individual basic cottage. Only stayed one night but kitchen looked well stocked with kitchen items if you were to cook. Bathroom shower was small but hot water was hot and pressure was good. Dark enough outside for viewing northern lights. We didn’t use the hot tub but it looked like people enjoyed it.
- Jodie (10/5): Loved this cottage! - Our family loved this Cottage! Would definitely recommend a stay here. On-site restaurant was very good. Very friendly staff
- Ashlei (10/5): - Cottages were spacious, comfortable, quiet, and clean. The views were nice and the restaurant was great after a long day of exploring. Food was delicious!
- James (10/5): Great stay - beware of slippery shower room! - Recommended and the hot tub was wonderful! However, just to be aware - be very careful if you use the shower near the hot tubs. The floor can be very slippery and in fact, I fell and hurt my knee and left foot which was bruised purple for weeks afterward. I highly recommend they put down some kind of rubber mat to keep people from slipping!
- Marissa (10/5): - Very cute and rural. 20 mins from Selfoss but little light pollution in the area. We saw the northern lights from the hot tub! but they were easier to see when we took a drive. Very convenient to a lot of golden circle stops and great that it had a restaurant because there aren't many super close. Did not have ice or free coffee and there was no breakfast available. Kitchen was nice to have for sure. There was no oil or anything though. Hot tubs and shower were very hot! Cabin was also cozy. You cannot control the temperature.
- Daniel (10/5): - This was a great place to stay for two nights while in Iceland. Great location that was close to Geysir and Selfoss.
The cabin had everything we needed.
- Morgan (8/5): - Everything was great! The TV did not work and we were not able to find the DVD player that we were told was there but otherwise good. And we just slept instead of watching TV. Probably needed that more anyways
- john (8/5): - Close and reasonable prices for the stay. All mini cabins come equipped with complete kitchens.
- Gina (8/5): Nice property - It was one night at the end of our trip. I wish there was an earlier check in than 4pm! Weather and my husband was sick would have made a nice option.
- Alon (10/5): - The outdoor hot tub was a great feature, preparing us to the hot springs we have met later that trip. Good cabin. kitchen didn't have some general items like salt as those are being sold in the cabins store.
- Clinton (6/5): - It was just okay. Nothing special but not bad either
- Carol (8/5): - It works, location-wise, for the Golden Circle.
- Cindy (10/5): - Nice quiet cottage with double bed that has a single bunk above it. The full kitchen was great and we did BBQ each night for dinner. There are several soaking tubs and an optional group gathering room with BBQs and outdoor tables. It's quiet, peaceful, and the front desk staff are very helpful.
- Raj (6/5): - Cottage is overall good but the beds are bad and bedroom is very congested.
- Ewa (10/5): - Nice and clean place. Hot tub was great after all day of hiking
- Anthony (10/5): - Very nice rooms with a great hot tub all warmed up for us upon our arrival. Very convenient for visiting ng the many attractions of Iceland's beautiful south coast.
- Isaac (10/5): - Great place to stay!
- R (8/5): - We stayed in the cabins here. They were functional but a little more rustic that we expected. Shared hot tubs were good but one was not filled so hot tubs were a little crowded at times. Wireless internet on the property but did not reach to our cabin. There is a nice shared "lodge" with jigsaw puzzles, toys for young kids, more room (sofas and recliners) and internet -- we hung out there rather than in the cabin, which was rather small/cozy. Coordination for arrival was easy and generally the staff here are excellent (not native Icelanders but friendly and wanted to make sure our needs were being met). The location is in a rural area, so parking and access is very easy. Location is very easy to find and fairly near Golden Circle sites but far enough away to feel you have Iceland to yourself after the crowds at Gullfoss and Geysir. Dinner at restaurant was fine but not remarkable. Probably would not actively seek it out again but if it suited our plans, would happily stay again.
- Candy (10/5): - Great living space. Small bedrooms with little room for suitcases. Loved the private hot tub and deck. Restaurant was great and staff were helpful and friendly.
- Jackson (10/5): - Outdoor jacuzzi pool for each unit is greatly appreciated, especially when the weather was cold and damp.
- Jerry (8/5): - The property is actually over a 20 minute drive from Selfoss. Buy anything you want to cook prior to going to the property as there is nothing nearby/remote. The staff informed us not to open the windows due to biting flies....which made the rooms hot. There were no screens. If you want to cook in the rooms bring every consumable that you need. The restaurant is nice and prices are consistent with the rest of Iceland. We did enjoy our stay here and would stay at here again.
- Sam (10/5): Basic clesn, comfortable cabin with hot tub - Nice basic cabin, had all we needed to cook
Meals and relax as a family. Hot tub was a bonus
- Verified traveler (8/5): Pleasant Stay - Decent location, it's a small cluster of cottages quite close together, so you have some privacy, but just some. Place was clean and kitchen has good utensils and cooking tools. It's about 20 mins from Selfoss if you want to buy your own groceries, or prefer not to eat at the restaurant on-site. Only complaint was a missing curtain in one of the living room windows. Rooms were also REALLY small, so no room for your luggage. Overall a pleasant stay.
- Sophia (2/5): Do not stay here. - Do not go here. Bug infestation in room. We have bites all over our bodies. Could not sleep because of the bugs. Landscaping is a mess. Paths not clear to walk on. Food is terrible.
- Sally (10/5): - Very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay
- Katie (10/5): - Wonderful accommodations! Great living space. Clean and comfortable. We were here with a family of 4. We loved the hot tub! We also enjoyed the breakfast. Great location if doing the golden circle and want a quiet place to stay. Would definitely return!
- Mary (8/5): - Well maintained; friendly and helpful staff; good restaurant. I know most places in Iceland don’t have screens on windows but it would sure help. We left windows open for some fresh air overnight but wound up with numerous bug bites. We researched what it could have been and it seems Iceland has biting mites of some kind. Not the property’s fault, obviously, but screens on windows would help.
- Mary Beth (4/5): - We stayed here on our last night in Iceland, having had very nice experiences everywhere else. Unfortunately, we had a bad experience here. The floor inside the front door of the cabin was extremely slippery - like sheer ice - and several of us slipped as soon as we stepped off the entryway rug. I broke a toe as a result of sliding on the floor. Also, while my daughter was showering, the shower head fell on her head. It was the only place we stayed that offered zero amenities in terms of coffee/tea. While there is a kitchen, we would have had to purchase even basic items if we had wanted to cook. Also, we had four people and only two of the four beds had sheets on them. Unfortunately we cannot recommend this property.
- Nagaraj Setty (2/5): - Bed bugs
- Sarah (8/5): - very conveniently located!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Wonderful stay - the hot tub was kept nice and warm for us, the cottage was clean and the people were wonderful.
- W (6/5): - Wifi did not work in our cottage which reduced rating to 3 star . . Hot tubs were a very nice amenity.
- Katelynn (10/5): - Little far out from the town, but if you bring your food or drive into the town (20 minutes) it is easy to get food.
The hot tub was nice and the space was clean
- Tracy J (8/5): Last minute family stay. - Our family enjoyed our stay, we made last minute reservations making it difficult tofu d someone to help us cheek in. The WiFi did not work creating challenges for remote working.
- Simon (10/5): Great views - Great apartment and great location. Very friendly staff. Hot tub could have been a little warmer but was very convenient and private
- Alvinos (8/5): - nice cosy house near the golden circle
- Jeffery (10/5): - Beautiful property with awesome videos and very friendly staff.
- Julybell (10/5): - Amazing experience in this beautiful cottage! Amazing sleep! Just wow! Everything was great. Used the warm hot tub outside and slept so great. Every is clean.
- Bhaven (4/5): - They don't provide with basic toiletries like body wash and shampoo. Zero in hospitality. The property expects you to empty your trash while you check out. Would not recommend this property to anyone.
- Stirling (10/5): - Private hot tub was a very nice bonus, along with being able to sit in the tub at hear calls from far away of Whimbrel, Curlew, Whooper Swans, Godwits, and Artctic Terns. (Or at least that what my Merlin app claims they were.)
- Kathleen (8/5): - Had a cabin for 6 for one night. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great space for a family (2 bedrooms - single over double bunk beds) and a kitchen/living area. Loved having our own private hot tub. Beds/pillows were just OK. Added breakfast and was happy with variety (even had scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage for the American crowd).
- Matt (10/5): - The cabbin was amazing very warm and comfortable , great hot tub although i think the snow needed clearing a bit more around the area to enter the hot tub , it was a bit dicy getting in and out . It did say it had a restaurant and bar both these where closed which would have been a big problem had we not taken food .nearest town is maybe 1hr return
- John (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay here. The cabins with hot tubs are fun comfortable and fun. The kids had a great time.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely peaceful and comfortable cabin - Great log cabin with private decking and hot tub area. Spacious cabin which included all the essentials in the kitchen. Great base to see thingvellir, kerid, geyser and gullfoss. Served food which was ok.
We were lucky enough to see the Aurora duing our stay.
- Caryn (6/5): - Wifi in room did not work. Heater in Main kitchen room and family room could not be increased to desired heat level. Only bedroom heater worked. If this was fixed it would be great. We got wifi in their Msin building in the dining area.
- Heather (10/5): - Great location and clean units, everything we needed.
- Holly (10/5): - We enjoyed our two night stay here while exploring the Golden Circle. Great location for sightseeing and local geothermal spas. We loved the hot tubs and takeout from the restaurant was delicious! Would definitely stay here again!
- Claudia (10/5): - We loved the little cottage! All the amenities that we need was included. Plus the hot tub! Great place for families!
- S (10/5): - It was excellent. There are even pots, knives and some other kitchenware here. U can cook everthing if you have vege or meat. Receptionist is friendly. Even the fisrt aid pack you can find in the room.
- Carol (10/5): A great place to stay! - The owner greeted us & was kind enough to let us check in 1/2 and hour early. He also was super helpful with checking in about our plans for the next day as a storm was coming in to where we were headed.
The food in the Restaurant was delicious at both breakfast and dinner.
The owner and staff were all lovely to interact with and very helpful!
Overall a lovely property even in a very windy snowy March!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place to be off the beaten path, no issues. Great stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The cottage was very comfortable and a great stopover while you're doing the Golden circle (if you're not doing it in one day). The hot tub was fantastic and we got to watch the northern lights while sitting in it.
Breakfast is optional which we opt in on. We are so glad that we did, as it was buffet style with hot food items and continental items.
- Sue (8/5): - Nice but small. But we only stayed for a quick overnighter before moving on
- Susan (10/5): - Nice house with many rooms. Food provided by the restaurant also good. Easy check in
- KBahr (8/5): - Perfect location on the Golden Circle. Close to the Kerid Crater. Friendly staff and easy check in. Our cottage was quiet and quant. It was clean and had all the basic nessasities for an overnight stay. The beds were comfortable. Great option for an overnight stay.
- Brandon (10/5): Great cabin with friendly service - We loved the cabin and restaurant. It was roomy and perfect for our family. There was plenty of living space and bedrooms. The hot tub took 30 minutes to fill but it was hot and clean. The cabin was very clean and beds were comfortable. It had all of the supplies we needed. There was a grill in the deck. It was central to many of the Golden Circle attractions. Everyone we talked to at the reception area was very helpful and friendly. We had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. Breakfast was okay. Our dinner was tasty and prices seemed pretty good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This was a very pleasant stay in a beautiful area. We liked it so much we returned a few days later for a second stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - 2 adults and 2kids stayed. Super clean and great space! We all enjoyed a private hot tub. A must stay!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Truly remarkable in terms of cleanliness and ambience. Beautiful location and well maintained property
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Booked this property last minute because of a storm and had to check in late. They called me after booking and left the key for us, the staff was great during our stay. We stayed 2 nights in a 2 bedroom cottage, it had plenty of room for 4 young adults. Only complaint was the WiFi was a little spotty but at the reception area there is good WiFi. Overall it was our favorite (and best priced) accommodation during our trip to Iceland.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This was a wonderful place to stay! Close to major attractions which were easily drivable. The staff were helpful and friendly. The cottages allowed extra room to relax and there is a hot tub! We would stay ther again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Plenty of space, cabins stayed warm, hot tub took about 45mins to fill up
- Laura (10/5): Perfect Location - Wonderful staff. Great location. Clean and comfortable. Will stay again.
