Guest Reviews
- Jann (10/5): - Decent staff and accomo
- Susan (8/5): - It was neat and clean. Nice outdor plants. And good price.
It is on busy street, so noisy at times.
- Bassam (8/5): - It was a good budget motel, the room was clean. Staff were polite.
- April (8/5): - Great for how cheap it is
- Dave (10/5): - Nice clean bathroom
- Rachelle (10/5): - It is exactly how it is described and looks exactly as the pictures on their website.
- Troy (10/5): - Room was great. Check in staff friendly.
- LYNN (8/5): - This property borders on TransCanada Highway so it is not quiet. However, it was close to the ferry and readonable cost. Staff vety helpful. Alice's Restaurant next door was fabulous.
- Jean (10/5): - Cheap, clean, comfortable and my favorite coffee to brew.
- Jean (8/5): - good value for my money
- Neil (8/5): - Staff was helpful and very friendly, They also quickly found an item I had left behind and are returning it. Room was small but plenty for me.
- Damon (8/5): - Nice budget motel
- William (6/5): - Checking was fast, The coffee cups in room were dirty
Ac did not cool very well, could be cleaner.
Curtain did not block out a-lot of light, as it was to short for the window.
Road noise was bad due to gaps around doors and ac unit.
It was a quick place for a one night stay.
But i did not get much sleep.
- Jaslene (4/5): - The room smelled heavily of smoke. It was burning my eyes and sinuses. Lady at the front desk was nice for check in though. Nice view of the ocean.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Average - Staff was nice. Shampoo and conditioner too dry, no shower gel, only soap.
- Maggie (8/5): - Clean room, pet friendly & super lovely staff!
- Arlen (8/5): Great little spot - No complaints, room was decently clean. Furniture from this decade. Friendly staff. Would stay again
- DAN (10/5): - Quite loud fairly late at night but the rest of the motel is fine.
- Joanna (10/5): - Clean property, good value for the money. I would stay there again
- Chris (8/5): - Decent for the price
- Steve (8/5): - You get what you pay for. This place was not expensive, it was clean and good for a nights stay.
The front desk person did a good job but had no personality nor was he over friendly but thats not that important to me.
The room itself is quite dated and even though its been remodeled it is old.
The road noise was immense, cant help that as the main hwy road is 40 ft from the rooms.
- Nathan (6/5): - The Bad:Floors were not cleaned well, food / drink spilled near fridge, bathroom floor made my feet black after a shower. The Good: staff were nice, easy to find , reasonable price
- Maureen (8/5): - Surprisingly quiet. Very clean.
- Dorothy (8/5): - Our room was ok. Beds good but floor needed more attention as did curtains.
- Talia (6/5): - Its a basic motel.
The front staff initially messed up my reservation as I had booked a room with 2 beds and they put us in a single queen room. I brought it to their attention and they were super helpful, offering a new room to fix their error.
The location is ok, right on the hwy and easy to find. Rooms are brick walls, so poor cell reception in them. Bathroom has a stall shower which was small.
- Petr (6/5): - Very noisy, we had a feeling like if sleeping in the middle of the highway
- Olivia (10/5): - Eric the front desk staff was great! Friendly and made the check-in process as easy as could be. Location was a bit noisy but convenient. Would stay again.
- kathryn (10/5): - Cheap, cheerful, clean. Flowers outside the door. Requested ground floor. Small room but perfectly adequate. Very comfortable…would stay there again
- Patricia (8/5): - The rooms were basic but recently updated. Bed was comfy and clean and the room had ammenities such as fridge and coffee maker. It is located close enough to the ferry to be convenient and the price was reasonable. It is along a busy street though, so a bit noisy.
- Amparo (8/5): - We like the staff at front disk 😍
Thank you
- Conceicao (6/5): - Condition of the property needs updates, beds are old and uncomfortable not quite a queen size looks more like a double, close to main road very noisy.
- Gisele (6/5): - It was clean if a little run down. On busy hwy. but had good sleep and enjoyed their coffee
- Daniel (4/5): - Not clean and noise !
- Kid (8/5): - Good
- Barb (10/5): - Was a great stay, clean & comfortable, desk staff went above & beyond. Diner next door had delicious affordable breakfast. Loved it!
- Tyler (2/5): - I had no hot water and they didn’t do anything about it I left after two dsys. I got 10 dollars off the last nite that’s it.
- Marilyn (8/5): - Our room was what we expected for the price. We have stayed here a few times and won't hesitate to return again.
- Sharon (10/5): - The property was clean and pleasant, the staff was very helpful and friendly, it was a very nice stay.
- Margaret (10/5): - An aging complex but it is clean and looked after. Very quiet even though on the edge of highway. It suited my needs for a bed and bathroom.
- Yuliia (8/5): - It's normal motel for this money. It's nothing extra, just good stay at night.
- Marilyn (10/5): - We've stayed here before. No surprises. It is an economy hotel...just as advertised. It is clean and staff is helpful.
- Judy (10/5): - It fit the description.
- April (10/5): - The front desk person, Aidan, was really nice and welcoming. Was always ready to help.
- Bruce (6/5): - traffic noise of highway
- Brent (8/5): - clean rooms, quaint old style restaurant with good food. Nice staff
- Marlene (10/5): - Very nice staff and helpful
- Leslie (4/5): - The deadbolt on the door didn't work and there were several undesirable people hanging around...didn't feel safe. The room itself was clean, but the toilet looked as if it had been unused for a long time with a dirty ring in the bowl.
- charbel (10/5): - Nice clean and affordable
- Carolyn (10/5): - Restaurant next to Motel. Walkable distance for us to go to downtown area.
- Stephen (6/5): - Got a surprise when I checked in. Turns out even though I made the reservation using a Canadian credit card the rate shown were in us funds so the night was another 35% more.
- Ross (6/5): - It was difficult to enter the property from the South as the highway at this location is marked with double yellow lines, which in most duristrictions means you cannot cross the center line at this location. Entering the property involved turning around
- Isabelle (6/5): - Did not feel safe
- Ruth (10/5): - Rooms were dated but clean. Very friendly staff at check in. She even brought us a coffee pot
- Taufeeq (4/5): - Main door lock was broken, floor was sticky, just two towels for the family of four people, room was smelly, bed sheet was ripped at one place, only one pillow for one person which was too thin.
- Nadine (8/5): - Fair price for a clean room.
- Cohen (4/5): - I knew it would be a dive when i reserved but i didn’t think it’d be that bad…
- Jean Pierre (8/5): - It was not too bad, but it was $174 for a night 😴
- Katz (8/5): - Pros: Great property for the price. I loved the beds and the rooms were clean and well kept. Rooms were nice and quiet. Pet friendly too.
Cons:Curtains are not blackout and the area is a little rough... still for the price it's a great place to hang your hat for the night :)
- Patricia (6/5): - Excellent Indian cuisine near by!
- Sierra (10/5): - It was great! The staff was super lovely! The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The only thing I would change would be to add a little “welcome package” for those arriving late like we did (1:30am) to the room that has the name of any late night delivery food, and the wifi password (I looked through the front office window and zoomed in with my phone camera so I got the password, but it would have been nice to not have to do that lol). Also, maybe fix the little chain because that isn’t giving any security lol.
The outside isn’t much to look at but it was a surprisingly nice room to walk into. I would definitely stay here again!
- Pedro (10/5): - Grear budget motel. Cleaning services by request? Better if done daily.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - overall good. the air condition in one of our room 246 wasn't very cold.
- Jillian (10/5): - very nice, clean and beautiful property, good value for 1 night.
- Teresa (4/5): Got the job done - Old building but was clean and cared for. Sketchy guests next door with barking dogs. Didn’t feel very safe.
- Kathleen (8/5): - Rooms are very clean. Wi-Fi is extremely slow. Plenty of parking spaces.
A lady who was seemingly having hallucinations was yelling at an invisible person outside, and asked to use my phone to call 911. She seemed mentally unwell. The motel staff seemed well-aware of her presence - they seem to manage the situation sensitively and as best they can, but this is good to know for anyone who considers staying there.
- Michael (6/5): - Very clean and appears well cared for.
Some dated features typical of older properties - like an actual room key rather than a swipe card. Front lights stayed on and were bright through the window. Being on the main drag - rooms facing the street will be noisy.
- Sheila (4/5): - It was old and shabby, though clean, and there was virtually no hot water. There was no staff on site in the evening or overnight or when it was time to check out and have my deposit returned to me.
- Arianne (8/5): - The lodge is neat and clean..
- Janice (10/5): - Being on main road you could hear the traffic but otherwise clean and comfortable
- Aaron (8/5): A nice place to stay on a tight budget... - Service was fantastic, room was clean only two issues both of which were minor and easily addressed. There were tiny little black ants that would eat any food bits that got dropped, it made it an incentive to clean up any food stuffs that was dropped. The other thing was slow drains, the sink was very slow until I bought a plunger and that was because the toilet would not flush until I took the plunger to it for about a two minutes. After that the toilet worked great and everything was just fine.
- Denyse (8/5): - the property had hanging flower baskets through out. Nice view of the boats etc. Property was clean.
- Linda (8/5): - The young lady at the front desk helped us to find safe parking for our truck and trailer. Very much appreciated!
- Susan (6/5): - Would be nice to have the room straightened and supplies replenished each day of the 3 nights we were there…all in all adequate for the price…room was clean… office attendant was friendly
- Penny (8/5): - There was no phones in the room. Had to wait outside in middle of night for another guest to come out and phone taxi
- Jamie (6/5): - Opened up the room, toilet was plugged upon entry and wouldn’t drain. Spoke to guest services who handed me a plunger. Not impressed
- Noel (10/5): - Great place for a 1 night stay before flying, great price
- Michelle (6/5): - I was pleasantly surprised at first but needing help from front desk early am was awful
Room was great for price otherwise
- Daniel (8/5): - Clean and comfortable. would stay again.
- Audrey (10/5): - They are trying their best to create a glowing environment for the guests. Location. Age and surrounding neighborhood are no help either is the highway next door. If I could have afforded better I would have chosen different Ng and was acceptable
- Randy (6/5): - Great beds and room. A bit noisy from the highway traffic but our ear plugs helped us to have an excellent sleep!
- Charanjeet Kaur (8/5): - Property is really good, well maintained and tidy .David is very cooperative and helpful. 5 stars to the property because of David
- Sainabou B (10/5): - The guest enjoyed his stay
- Klaus (8/5): - The condition of the Motel on the backside.
- Janelle (10/5): - I like that they called to confirm our reservation. Also the staff at the front desk (a lovely woman) was super friendly and helpful when we checked in late in the evening on August 28 after missing our ferry back to Vancouver. This place is a great option for a quick, clean and inexpensive stop and I would happily plan to stay here again for my next Nanaimo visit.
- Cynthia (8/5): - Just a little dated in the bathroom
- Charlene (10/5): - Thank you 😊 for the easy check in and check out.
- Christine (8/5): - Good value for a stay before the ferry ride. Allow a little extra time to the terminal.
- CODY (8/5): - Front desk staff top notch
- Jeanne (8/5): - Very simple room clean and great for just one night on our way to tofino.
- Gerald (6/5): - Clean, modern, well maintained
Long wait to get into the room, front desk staff had to clean rooms
- Sandra (6/5): - I felt uncomfortable walking my dog in the surrounding due to open drug use and homelessness. It’s very sad.
- Steven (2/5): - Refused to acknowledge my Expedia payment. Manager was aggressive when i asked for an explanation. He then told me to "lick the floor" twice, including in front of another manager who did nothing. No follow up by owner. Not an accommodation Expedia should be associated with.
- Sandra (10/5): - Lady who checked us in was exceptionally friendly and helpful
- Joel (4/5): - Clean yes but lots of traffic noise and noisy air conditioner
- Carolyn (8/5): - Office did not open until 9:30 a.m. not ideal when early departure is required. However, office staff was very helpful on arrival
- Margaret (10/5): - comfy bed!!
- Lisa (8/5): - Very clean room. Large screen tv. The wood floors was a nice change as you know it is clean. Quiet even though it in next to the highway. Newer bathroom fixtures and a large walk in shower. The flowers along the front make it a lovely stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Mediocre Motel - Although the staff was friendly, housekeeping was not consistent.
I had to ask the night before to have the room cleaned and one day housekeeping was not available.
They told me I had to change my own sheets.
I also asked for new towels but never received any.
Office was only open at certain times.
They also charged me for an extra day.
- Lacey (8/5): - I needed a hotel close enough to the nanaimo airport so that a cab wouldn't be too costly. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and upgrades of the room. My only complaint was the lack of locks on the very large window. Being on the ground floor i was a little concerned with the possibility of someone entering the room by way of the window. There was a small clamp i was able to screw onto the casing to prevent the window from being opened. All in all, decent stay!
- Shannon (10/5): - Very affordable. Clean room comfortable bed.
