Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The owners were very helpful and absolutely lovely. The B&B is located next to the local station, and is a short walk back into the city centre. A great cooked breakfast is provided.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The lady running it was very very sweet and made an excellent breakfast
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely BnB in a good location - Stayed for one night, Owner Ellen was really lovely and welcoming. The BnB itself is quaint, very clean and in a good location. Breakfast was spot on :)
- Trevor Joseph (8/5): - The little step in to th bath room was a killer. My poor big toe. Bed was very comfy, breakfast was great, coffee was good. The water pressure in the shower was great. One problem thought. The red for hot was actually cold and the blue was hot water. Thats it. Thank you
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I did not like the proprietor banging on my door at 11:00pm and yelling "Turn off the bathroom light if you are not using the bathroom" Nor did I care for her husband or other roommate carrying on a loud and long conversation with someone outside the front door. Our window did not close (seal) properly, so I had to hear it for a long, long time. The place is a mess and a disgrace. It is difficult to beleive you would allow such a place on your webiste. I don't know who they paid to get a 3 star rating, but this place is abominable. I would not ever ever do business with them again, nor should you.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I was clean and comfortable and the host was really nice and helpful.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Nothing to like. Decor was terrible. Room old tired, an armature painted them. Rugs, yuck. TV had two channels. Difficult to get hot water for shower. Lots of traffic noise as well as neighbouring rooms. Really would advise anyone thinking of this place to avoid it. Proprietor was not all that good at public relations either.
- Assaf (8/5): Assaf & Talia - TaliaIt was good. Breakfast was excellnt and the older hosting couple,Ellen & Terry, think those r their names, are very lovely
- Helen (10/5): - Steps from a Cork train station and 10 minutes to main bus station, Oaklands B&B is very convenient for a day trip to Kinsale. Owner is friendly, informative, and lovely hostess. Your visiting your Irish aunt for a few days and she’s doing her best to make your stay delightful! Highly recommended!
- Alex (10/5): - Ellen who runs this place is amazing. She really makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive. Even my mother in law with her limeted English felt immediately welcome. The included breakfast is delicious and she will customise it for you and remember the next day. The place is impeccably clean and despite the age of the building feels more hygienic then most chain hotels. The location right by the train station has pros and cons, but it's less noisy than we thought it would be. overall a great experience and my new go to for when relatives visit us. Ellen is always available for a chat and is a font of local history and great stories.
- Sharif (10/5): great stay - Great complimentary breakfast and the owner, Ellen, is a very lovely person. I would definitely come back.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Staff was excellent, made breakfast for us earlier as we had a train to catch

- douglas (10/5): Great place to stay - Room very clean, bathroom imaculatly clean, power shower was showertastic. Breakfast served well, very satisfying, landlordy and lady are a wonderful couple. A real pleasure to stay there, a well run b&b
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very lovely house and friendly staff but very few extras in the room, eg: kettle, toiletries, etc. Would stay again as breakfast was lovely.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location was ideal 50 yards from train station and perhaps 200 yards from bus station and little further on the main city shopping area.
- teresa (10/5): Excellent choice for our stay in Cork - Ellen made us feel right at home. We had a lovely breakfast each morning. It was the perfect location for our plans.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The host was a very nice lady but the house is a bit noisy and the mattress should have been thrown out years ago. If it were under $100, I wouldn’t complain but it was more of a hostel than a hotel and overpriced for what it is.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It is in a great location and the hosts are very friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Close to the train station. Our host Ellen very kind and welcoming. Older B&B. Great breakfast.
- Linda (10/5): Good location. - Well-positioned hotel for the train or bus traveler. Convenient to these station hubs. Also convenient to Cork City main shopping area, plenty of food within walking distance.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful old guest house in the middle of Cork, holds all the quirk and charm you might hope/expect.
- Claire (4/5): - No breakfast. We were not advised of time for breakfast upon our arrival we came to dining room in the morning at 10.4pam to be told breakfast finished. We had some pale toast and well stewed tea. We were told on arrival that the toilet didn't flush at night though. Very old fashioned b and b.
- SU YEON (10/5): Good memories! - It was great!!!
Good location, welcoming and friendly♡
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very close to public transport and car hire. I was unaware how close it is to train station as didn’t hear them from my room. A quiet b’b.
- Martin (10/5): - The Oakland’s is warm, homely and very friendly. Helen can’t do enough for you and makes a beautiful breakfast.
Minutes from the train station and less than 10 minutes walk from both the bus station and city centre.
Great place I’ll definitely go again
- Moana (10/5): - Excellent location easy to find. Host was very friendly and the best breakfast of my travels. Nice homely atmosphere highly recommend for short stays.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable B&B next to the railway station. - I had a nice, comfortable stay. The cooked breakfast was included and it was nice. The wifi worked well too - better than in many hotels I've stayed in. Location is good - just a short stroll to city centre. Only negative point is that there was no kettle and tea in the bedroom.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice place, very warm home feel.
- Christine (8/5): Homely B&B, very convenient for railway station - Very pleasant stay. Only 10 minutes walk to beautiful Cork city centre. Hostess most helpful. The room and bathroom were very clean. We were not disturbed by traffic on the road outside.
- Kathleen Fitzsimons (2/5): Unhappy customer - I have already sent a review and was told you would be getting back to me.
In brief too noisy, no breakfast and expensive €95

- Evangeline (10/5): - The B&B was clean and comfortable and well located for the bus stations and central Cork. The hostess, Ellen, made us feel very much at home and was most helpful. We enjoyed our stay with her.
