- prashant (10/5): Best hotel room I’ve stayed in. - The lodge was amazing. The rooms were huge and very very spacious, including the bathrooms. Extremely clean and the mattress and pillows were the most comfortable ones I’ve ever come across in a hotel room. The staff was very friendly and warm. Unfortunately they were shutting down for business and I was apparently the last guest to checkout! I wish they’d keep it running. I’d go back to the catskills just to stay there!

- Guido (8/5): Good stay - Was a bit hesitant with some of these reviews but the stay was not bad at all. The room we stayed in (in the Lodge upstairs) was spacious and clean. Had a good night sleep and a good shower the next day. Some complained about the breakfast but had no issues with it. They had all kinds of bagels, good butter and jam, good coffee, and excellent orange juice and pineapple juice. Would stay there again next time I return to Hunter.

- Daniel (8/5): - The rooms are very clean. The property is well kept for the most part. Very outdated though but that personally doesn’t bother me. Staff was very friendly. Only issue I’d say is the “breakfast”. It essentially is store bought bagels (horrible ones at that), ice cold hard boiled eggs, and a few other things. Nothing warm like we were expecting.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Overpriced, freezing, missing blinds for windows - Overpriced. Absolutely, no one liked the place in my party. There was a sponge in the sink that was dirty, not a new one for guests to use. I have not stayed somewhere with no tissues before. The living room with the tv was freezing, even with the heat turned up to max. Absolutely, no privacy, because of missing blinds in the kitchen and living room. I would not recommend.

- Jake (10/5): Comfortable, quiet with easy access to the Mtns - This is a cute little lodge in the Catskill Mountains. We stayed with kids and had a lot of fun. The lodge provides easy driving access to the mountains and all the great sights. They have a decent continental breakfast with bagels, coffee, hard boiled eggs, and cocoa. Campfires outside and movies on the grass. The rooms could have been cleaner and are a little dated but our stay was comfortable and quiet like the mountains should be. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay

- lea (10/5): Wonderful! - It was wonderful! Outdoor movies on Fridays & Saturday nights, a couple fire pits, a mini arcade center as well. The arcade center with the pool table felt like it could be cleaned, especially the pool table, but it was still fun! We played corn hole outside, walked around and we also had some deer visitors! Also - BEST free breakfast bar ive ever had, plus the “honest bar” was super helpful! We grabbed a smores making kit, a blanket, a candle and some other things we needed. I love the products made from bamboo and local! There is a mini trail to a Creek as well! Creek was dry, but fun to walk around a pick rocks! We would totally stay here again!
- Karen (8/5): Rustic getaway in the Catskills - The Catskills Mountain Lodge is pretty much what one would think, quaint and rustic with a bit of country hospitality. Although there were a few hiccups when we checked in, such as no running water and a tv that wouldn’t shut off or change the volume, the staff worked diligently to rectify the situation as quickly as possible (though the tv remained possessed). The property is spacious with plenty of places to gather, either outdoors by the fire pit, or indoors at the game room. We enjoyed an outdoor movie with our own homemade cocktails (FYI, the “bar” has no liquor license but you are welcome to bring your own and imbibe anywhere on the property). All in all the room we stayed in, which is a separate building from the main lodge, was comfortable but could use a wee bit of updating. Yet it was clean and quaint with a great atmosphere and perfectly situated in the Catskills, surrounded by all the wonders of nature. Would definitely stay there again.

Wifi coverage was OK - the cell service (on Verizon) is terrible there - I had no service at all when in the room. The free breakfast was Ok, but limited in choice.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointing - This is a run down place. The vanity counter was broken and hanging. The toilet top was broken. There was no television in this particular room and when asked why we were told that it “wasn’t budget friendly”. The rates I paid were not necessary budget rates. the library is a book box. the stated amenities are minimal or non-existent. Last, you could hear every move the neighbors made, both beside you and above you. Complete disappointment!!! Beds were clean though.
- Renee (4/5): Disappointed - We reserved one of the cabins, when we arrived for checkin, the cabin was ‘not available’ and we were given a standard room which was deemed an ‘upgrade’. The room was very old, old carpet, old everything, the bathroom sink was so low one would have to bend over to use. We followed the map to go to our room and all doors to the building were locked, other guests were surprised as well that they could not get in through an entrance they had used just the night before. The entire facility was disappointing at best. We ate not picking people by any means, but this facility needs to be upgraded and updated.
- Barry (8/5): Clean, Somewhat Comfortable - Friendly front desk staff and plenty of amenities on site. Our cabin was clean but felt a little cramped, probably due to the layout of the furniture. The cabin was very warm and we unable to find a way to adjust the temperature. We also found that there was minimal hot water pressure. Overall, we’d stay again but most likely in the lodge rather than a cabin.
- delawarevisitor2018 (10/5): Good deal for the price - The lodge was near the hikes we wanted to take and also close to the Thomas Cole National Historic Site. The lady at the front desk was very helpful and accommodating. The lodge has a cold breakfast that includes hard boiled eggs. We stayed in a lodge room which was large and very clean. Outside there is a long deck for all the rooms on the second floor. We sat out here and our view was of trees.

Choice of toast, English muffin or bagel, hard boiled eggs, fruit/granola and juice. Location can’t be beat. We liked that it was set back off of the main road so you couldn’t hear any traffic noise. We will definitely visit again!

Arrived to see it was closed. REALLY disappointing after a long drive. No explanation-- and still says it is open on the website. not cool.

Clean with big rooms, firm/comfortable beds, good air conditioning, fluffy white towels and nice toiletries. Has a real chill, retro vibe. Our kids enjoyed swimming in the pool and the outdoor nighttime movie. We enjoyed our bagel and morning coffee outside before we left- breakfast was appreciated!

What I liked the most is that it had a gas station nearby (3 minutes), a small store where you could get food and a dollar store too. Place to go to enjoy the day were close like kaaterskill water falls. I recommended the place.

- eileenk94 (10/5): Outstanding! - The current owners have done an amazing job renovating an old lodge into a perfect family getaway. Older reviews (pre-renovation) probably skewed the ratings negatively. Newer reviews are accurate and share my positive impressions. The lodge is low-key, charming, pet-friendly, and relaxed---a perfect spot to unwind. We booked two rooms in the lodge for ourselves and for our daughter and granddaughter. The rooms were large, clean, and comfortable. Internet service was excellent. I especially appreciated the small refrigerator and balcony. The owner and all of the staff were all friendly and helpful. The pool (with a separate kiddie pool) was much larger and nicer than we anticipated, and the children loved it. Pool towels were always available at the lodge. The children also loved the fire pit for s’mores and the outdoor movies. The grounds were spacious and well kept. Location is close to Kaaterskill Falls and Saugerties. Don’t miss nearby Vinnie’s Market, where we bought honey, maple syrup, and fruit to supplement the lodge’s bagel breakfast. Definitely book a room in the lodge. Friends joined us and booked a room in the motel portion of the property. Their room was not renovated and not nearly as nice as ours, although the lower price reflected this. They said that their room smelled a little of pet urine.

- DawnCea (10/5): Catskill Mountain Lodge is back!!! - I have been coming to the Catskill Mountain Lodge for over 35 years. Was there when the original owner opened and have been back for all subsequent owners, some good, some not so much. I have to say that the present owner Brian, has brought this little gem back to its original family friendly atmosphere. Rooms were clean and newly painted, grounds were well kept, pool was clean with plenty of seating in sun or shade. Towels are provided for the pool. Housekeeping was amazing and prompt. The lodge offers a nice touch of bagels and coffee each morning in the lobby. Movie night for the kids was a great idea and fire pit was great. Any issues were addressed immediately (and turned out to be my fault as I did not turn the knob on the A/C). My family and I are already talking about returning next year for a little rest and relaxation. Nice place to recharge your battery. Thank you Brian and staff for an enjoyable stay!! Dawn
- Verified traveler (4/5): Very Old and Dated Property - The property is very dated and in need of major renovations. The carpet in our room was very worn and stained and the curtains were in bad shape. Having said that, the bathroom was clean although, again, very much in need of renovations. I'm sure this property was very nice back in the 60's or 70's but it is in sad shape presently. One positive point is that the gentleman at the check-in desk was friendly and helpful. This is definitely not worth the price.
- SASADI (10/5): - Our night at CML was great. The kids loved playing in the pool, swinging on the swing and taking a walk to the swimming hole behind the property. The movie on the lawn at the end of the evening was definitely a bonus. The property is old lodge feel but the new owners (super friendly & welcoming) are making updates along the way. It’s still in the works and not everything was open, but it was exactly what we were looking for and at a great price compared to anywhere else around there. We will be back again - maybe this winter for skiing.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Hip, nice and reasonably priced - The Catskill Mountain Lodge is a perfectly located, very hip and friendly place to stay. Management was very attentive and the lodge offers a lot of amenities for the price e.g. breakfast, swimming pool, fire pits, and comfortable sleep futon. It was an all around great experience for our family and we hope to come back during ski season.

The setting is lovely, the rooms are large and well designed, the owners were pleasant and helpful, and it has fun, unexpected touches, S'more's roasting pits, movie nights and a small pool. Convenient free parking onsite. It's rustic and not for those looking for a super luxury place, but it's a great, affordable and fun place to stay.
- Susan (10/5): - I really enjoyed my stay here. It is in a beautiful setting, the rooms are large and well laid out, the owners were pleasant and helpful, and it has a pool, s'mores barbecue pits, great stargazing and movie nights. It was also convenient to a number of Catskills places we wanted to see. It is rustic and not for those looking for luxury, but a very pleasant place at a good price.
- David (10/5): - Great stay here, such a fun spot with a warm atmosphere. The facility is great, the pool and the rec room was fun, movie night outside with multiple bonfire spots and places to hang out. The management goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and it feels like they care about all the guests. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We did have an issue with the upstairs neighbour as the sound came through easily, could hear the footsteps and talking. That said it was a really enjoyable stay and would come back for sure.
- LINDA (2/5): - Room was dirty. Had to wait a long time for host to greet us at the front desk to check us in. Extremely loud party going on in the parking lot all night long. No TV (have never been to a motel without a TV in a room!). Very uncomfortable bed. A/C did not work. Did not feel safe.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing Time Here With My Son - Amazing Place! Stayed here recently with my 5 year-old son on a Father/Son trip. The hotel grounds are awesome! We spent 2 hours in the pool !! My son is usually done with pools in 15 minutes.. he spent 2 hours. On Friday and Saturday nights they projected movies in the yard along with fire pits. There is a creek a short walk from the back of the hotel, that my son and I walked to each day and had a blast skipping stones and just wandering. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable about the area in terms of where to explore and eat. Our room was in the Lodge, very spacious, comfy beds, quiet at night, my son slept each night without waking up! Also, my son made an awesome friend and had a blast playing with his new friend! I recommend this hotel to anyone escaping to the Catskills.. its clean, safe, fun, fun, fun and close to towns such as Saugerties, Woodstock, Cairo, Tannersville and Catskill. Also close to cool trails and swim holes. We will for sure be back!!!
- Madalyn (8/5): - Property was perfect for my family, nothing fancy but comfortable for a two night stay at the Catskills. Outdoor space was great for hanging out listening to music or watching a movie. Pool was also great, stay was very friendly!!!

- Nancy (2/5): Don’t Go!!!!! - It was horrible! The place is so run down and dirty. After asking to have my room changed because the carpets were filthy and the room had not TV. I was put in a room with a tiny TV and no cable. The carpet was still dirty and worn out. The casino they mention it an OTB! The restaurant is closed indefinitely, THE BAR IS CLOSED due to no liquor license (crazy!). There is almost no WIFI, there is no way to order food, from the one place that delivers, unless you go to the front desk to use their landline, there are no Ubers, local taxis to take to a local bar or restaurant. It was just a terrible experience.

Others staying at hotel made it not so nice go down to pool and Mexican group blaring their music dancing around and crowding pool so no other family can enjoy it. Also pool needs to be redone and did not smell like there was any chlorine in it! There is a nice path on property that leads down to some beautiful swimming holes.
- Elizabeth (4/5): - We truly liked the looks of the place when we drove in and the owner seemed congenial BUT he did not mention that there was no cable (or any TV station) on that side of the property. He said there was a coffee pot which was true but did not work when plugged in and set to make coffee. Since we paid in full prior to arrival, there should have been a discount for the lack of ammenities.

Staff was friendly, site was clean and fire pit, patio area nice. I was disappointed in the room, not like pictures in and at all, almost no amenities

- Michael (8/5): - Great motel/lodge for a weekend getaway. Had a nice camp fire in the common area and a movie showing from a projector. In the room, had a strange humming/vibration coming from a floor above. Maybe a refrigerator or air conditioner. Gave me a headache. You might consider updating appliances (mini-fridges and AC units) for more current, energy efficient units. Will save money in the long run and will run quieter/smoother. Unplugged the mini-fridge in our room due to noise also.
- Jenny (8/5): - This property has a lot of potential. I hope they are able to fulfill it! Word of caution: the pool was not open for my stay in June so you may want to check with them before reserving. I picked this motel specifically to have pool access so ultimately was extremely disappointed.

Entirely welcoming . . . and definitely the realization of the new owners' idea of simple, agreeable comfort

- James (4/5): A tale of two Motels - First the staff was very friendly, But the advertised pictures do not match up with the real world. Hotel in general needs a lot of maintenance as I found out when there wasn't any water. (a pipe broke and required and time to fix. Unfortunately for me I was on my way to a function and could not shave or shower) this was after being informed that the TV in my room did not work. Since the cable box was new but the TV very old. The motel is under new management and needs a ton of upgrades. As I said any staff I met was very friendly and because of the issues my room was comped. Still it's not about the money but the inconvenience.

There's so much attention to detail here. All staff we encountered were great, too. I already want to come back.

- Catherineaisbdhdube (10/5): Family friendly, peaceful and friendly resort! - We just visited Catskill Mountain Lodge for an overnight stay; very welcoming and friendly staff, lovely place for kids, lots of space to roam and explore. Very peaceful and quiet at night (a nice respite from the city), and a great firepit for roasting marshmallows. Comfortable beds and very clean room and bathroom. Nice coffee and continental breakfast. A lovely spring getaway; excited to come back and visit in the summer, the pool area and outdoor bar look fantastic!
