Guest Reviews
- 727nitaw (2/5): DO NOT RECOMMEND! - If you like Motel 6 at 3-star hotel prices, you'll be fine. Air conditioner works great. And that's the only good thing I can say. No elevator. Be prepared to carry your luggage up at least one flight of stairs. Blankets have burn holes. No soap in the shower. No wash cloths or hand towels. Ragged bath towels. Fire damaged electrical outlet. See pics.
- E7250YNtrishc (10/5): Great budget-friendly option - Clean, simple, great option for budget hotel. It is budget level. Staff was helpful and friendly and accommodating. Rooms were clean, AC was powerful, outdoor courtyard was cute, great Chinese restaurant across the street, great coffee shop/breakfast place around the block, bring your own soap, shampoo, etc.
- Minerva (10/5): - Good
- Sharona (10/5): - Centric hotel if y coming to and bunny concert in San Juan. Train is 10 min away walking. Very convenient
- Rafaela (8/5): - The property was very convenient for me. Room was clean. Staff was great.
- Veronica (8/5): - I liked customer service, but I didn’t like the place, and areas
- troy (8/5): - Good. Price is bit high for wualuty
- Crescencio (6/5): - Friendly staff, clean but needs some upgrades.
- Amber (10/5): Safe place for a few hours - Clean place and safe, appreciate the hot water, and soft sheets

- Quantrell (8/5): - Ok
- Wandaliz (10/5): - Very kind staff. The room was very clean.
- Marisol (6/5): - No elevator
- Victoria (4/5): - The room was extremely cold and the night staff attendant did not take much effort to assist. My family and I slept in an ice cold room. The morning staff came in and changed the batteries in the control, then I was able to turn off the AC. Also, there was no body wash in the shower and no wash cloth available.
- janine (8/5): - Great for a quick stay staff very polite and the hotel was clean .location was good closed by to everything.
- Madeline (10/5): - Everything is good.
- Rafael (6/5): - It’s ok for a quick stay
- Jilmar (2/5): - No soap or body wash in bathroom, toilet paper was low, towels were dirty
- Juan (2/5): - We lost the connecting flight from Philadelphia to Puerto Rico so we didn’t get to stay in the dream hotel and we lost the money from the hotel
- Courtnaé (8/5): - Good for one night. There's a few clubs and bars around so yiu can kind of hear the music and noise.
Thw shower didn't have hot water
- Maximillian (6/5): - The hotel is right next to local bars and a couple of restaurants. The hotel is not in the tourist areas of Puerto Rico. Do what you will with that information. The bathroom could have been better. There were issues with the faucet, but the staff was helpful when we shared that with them. We were happy to support a local owned business and pleased with the price.
- Sayantan (6/5): - We had multiple rooms. Not all rooms are same, some of the rooms are pretty broken and unclean, while some are ok and clean.
- Donna (4/5): - The floor in our room was dirty and sticky.
- Guillermo (10/5): - Nice place and cheap. Staff very nice and friendly.
- tamika (8/5): - Parking was limited
- Jose (10/5): - It is cute and does the job for a quick stay!
- mamadoub371 (2/5): Disappointing Experience at Dreams Hotel: Poor Service and Maintenance - My stay at Dreams Hotel was a complete disappointment. I traveled to San Juan for an international conference and chose this hotel primarily due to its proximity to the university – which, I admit, is the only positive aspect of the experience.
Unfortunately, that was about it. Over the course of an entire week, my room was cleaned just once, despite my repeated attempts to contact the hotel by calling the number posted on the "front desk" sign. The hotel seemed to operate on autopilot – more often than not, when I called, the person who answered wasn’t even on site. I was standing right in front of the office when I made these calls.
The room itself had several issues. The bathroom was leaking, and the water pressure was so low that brushing my teeth was a challenge, let alone taking a shower. The appliances were old and worn, with clear signs of neglect.
Overall, my stay was far from satisfactory, and I would not recommend Dreams Hotel unless they make some significant changes to their management and upkeep.
- Sonia (6/5): - It was ok….
- frederick (6/5): - ok
- Carmen (10/5): - This is about my third day in that hotel, very safe. It has cameras all over. Rooms were clean very spacious would definitely book again.
- Luis (8/5): - Place is nice can't beat the price
- shawn (6/5): - Decent place for a quick stay
- Efrain (10/5): - Thx!!!!
- Yasmin (10/5): - All the hotel staff were very friendly I recommend it it’s a quiet place I went alone white my boyfriend and we liked it thanks to the hotel staff for their kindness
- Roancy Arocho (10/5): - Lugar comodo
- Michelle (2/5): - Very disappointed tried to get refund was denied we did not even stay there the blankets had stains all over them our door lock was broke I didn’t feel safe with my kids at all
- VAN-TRANG (10/5): - The location is good, right in between the airport and the cruise port. There’s also a convenient Asian restaurant right across the street for noodles or sushi.
- Ennio (4/5): - Property was too high,
- Ashley (4/5): - The “ front desk” has no staff till about 2 pm. So make sure plan to arrive at or after check in… don’t try to go eat anywhere around there because…. 😷 the one place within walking distance has gross food. My room had a squeaky bed, the cable tv SUCKED….. the water in the shower …Luke warm at best… the soap dispensers in the bathroom… just glad I had my own had soap. ..all in all NEVER TF again
- Phyllis (4/5): - Condition of the hotel was terrible
- Iris (8/5): - .
- Robert (8/5): - I liked the location because it was convenient to everywhere I was going. I did not like having to drive around in search of parking when returning to hotel in evening.
- Jessie (10/5): - …
- Hanchen (10/5): - Great place where there are multiple restaurants and bars where all the locals go. The stuff allowed us to drop off luggages before check in time. She also provided towels for us to go to the beach. We paid 140 for a night, which equals to 70 per person. Good value as the room inside is well refurnished. Only thing is if you don’t have a car it might be a bit hard to get around. But there’s Plaza del Mercado within walking distance, a farmer’s market with lots of Puerto Rican vendors. Overall it’s a very nice experience.
- Aaron (6/5): - Fine for a quick sleep when coming in on a late flight. Didn't feel unsafe, but there was a homeless person sleeping on a swinging chair outside of our room when we arrived, who started singing and making tons of noise at 6am.
- Samuel (10/5): - Richard was very welcoming and courteous.
- Monica (10/5): - .
- Rebecca (8/5): - Very cute hotel! Someone was available at all times for anything we needed. There was a locked door that shut at night for extra security. Definitely would stay here again! :)
- Orlando (8/5): - A convenient place to stay. The staff was very helpful.
- KymL850 (4/5): No toilet paper. No towels. Room was quite clean given the state of the place. I would not recommend. - Pros:
Our room was clean.
There was a fridge, which was running, and a microwave. We didn’t use either so can’t say if they worked or not. Fridge had rust on the door.
Employees varied from courteous to quite pleasant.
Air conditioning worked.
Cons:
No toilet paper in room.
No towels in room.
One thin blanket.
Rank smell of weed on second floor landing when we walked up to our room at midnight. It was gone the next morning.
The whole place looked like it had seen better days and was desperately in need of an update.
Room was also very cramped though we’ve stayed in other places of similar size.
I hate to leave such a negative review, but we definitely wouldn’t stay there again. I assume we were supposed to get towels and TP at check-in but clerk didn’t give us them. We didn’t ask because, well, why would you expect to need to? And it was after midnight when we realized about the towels and in a middle of the night trip to the toilet that I discovered the toilet paper situation. So, yeah, that was a delightful surprise after a long day of travel.
As basic hotels go, this one is basic to the extreme. We weren’t expecting luxury by any means but having toilet paper and towels doesn’t seem too much to ask.
- Carmen (10/5): - We were extremely satisfied. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The hotel and room were very clean. This hotel is within walking distance of restaurants and to free train transportation station that takes you to different areas of San Juan. Free parking at the hotel or street parking nearby. I would definitely stay here again.
- Jason (6/5): - You get what you pay for. Acceptable. Glad I'm here for only 1 night. Wasn't impressed with the front lobby. Huge staircase to life luggage, no elevator, no assistance. This would not be somewhere I would choose or remember to stay again.
- Juan (2/5): - Nothing
- Iryna (10/5): - We liked that the hotel was in good condition, water was hot in the shower, and everything was clean.
- felix (8/5): - the staff was very helpful the hotel was clean in and around the property
- Jon (6/5): - Bed wasn’t too comfy but the linens were clean.
- Sylvia (10/5): - I would stay here again.
- isaac (2/5): Bad Hotel - No elevator, so we had to carry our heavy luggage up AND down 2 flights of stairs, there was no toilet paper in the room, no phone, no wash cloths available, roosters crowed outside and a prostitute was beaten outside where she screamed for an hour.
- Adelaida (8/5): - Friendly staff, convenient location and quiet.
- Christina (6/5): - I love the cleaning lady n man and Julianna
- Reymundo (10/5): - /
- Caridad (10/5): - Todo estuvo muy limpio y excelente en la habitación. No hay mucho estacionamiento en el área.
- Carmen (4/5): - feel of motel
- Roberto Torres (10/5): - Good location
- Gladys (8/5): - Buen servicio de la chica que estuvo en el service desk
- Brandon (4/5): - I dunno. I knew by the price and reviews that it wouldn’t be top of the line but it’s on a seedy street with allot of bars that felt pretty sketchy when I arrived late at night. Oh well. No big deal. But the dirty sheets and lack of water water are what caused me to give a low review. I only needed a place to stay for about 6 hours but I definitely wouldn’t bring my wife or kids here.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointment - Stayed there a few times thru the years, always fun. It's been 3 years since I was there. The area has really gone down. Restaurant that were in next door has closed. The bar that was at the hotel has closed. Garbage piles up on street corner. I will not stay there again.
- pamela (2/5): - No elevator, smell mouldy, not clean
- DIMARYS (8/5): - El mejor servicio al cliente lo ofrece "Meche". Tuve un problema con el aire de la habitación y ella inmediatamente me resolvió. Es super amable!
.
- Wallace (6/5): - Was nice but the tv is way too small and the toilet leak when flush causing the bathroom to be flooded. N water slipping out to the room
- Shulamy (2/5): - There were bed bugs and stains everywhere!! The lights didn’t work and although we informed them, they never fixed it. Terrible experience.
- Carlos (2/5): - The room was run down and the blankets we’re stained.. also a bad neighborhood..
- Cristina (6/5): - I liked the convenience of the location. Staff was not friendly or welcoming. Front desk staff didn’t even acknowledge that we were standing in front of her for a few minutes before she even said anything to us. There was a bad smell throughout the room.
- Kris (8/5): - Clean and convenient
- Adisa (6/5): - Definitely not an ideal location for tourists. There were roosters making noise very early right outside the hotel. Parking was very limited and sketchy. The room was basic and decent for the price. The location is the issue.
- Veronica (10/5): - I always stay there. The price is great. It’s cleaning staff is friendly and I like the location.
- Sandeep (6/5): - The rooms were clean however they should provide at least one water bottle. There was no soap in both the soap dispensers. TV did not work in room 213 and WiFi does not work there. We stayed there twice only for few hours as it is closer to the Airport. Once when we landed at 11.00 pm and next time before leaving as we had early morning flight. Second time the room AC was making noise. Needs to be fixed. As we were there only for few hours at night, these things did not bother us much. But these needs to be fixed.
- Eileen (10/5): - EXCELLENT AC
EXCELLENT CS from morning clerk with coffee recommendation. Then she saw us later and asked how it was!
- Norberto (10/5): - Excelente hotel y su staff maravilloso. Lo único es que no te aseguran estacionamiento pero lo demás excelente
- Rustina (10/5): - Easy check in. Very friendly staff
- Silka (10/5): - First time staying here. Great customer service my husband left his wallet and we went back and find it with in minutes and everything was in place. Trust this place. Small but with microwave, small fridge, little seating dinning are and the room.
- Glorivee (8/5): - Its good for a night or two. Clean and comfortable.
- Luis (2/5): - Very bad expirience. The location was scarie and THE Rooms smell like wet carpet. Couldn't sleep because of the smell. Very expensive for a bad hotel.
- Kathleen Lantan (4/5): - The AC in my room was not cooling properly neither was the wifi available in my room. I had a toldler with me that was sweaty and restless because of no wifi connection. No one is never at the front desk. However, there was a number to call. I Called and requested a change of room but to no avail. To add salt to injury i was still charged full price....
- Toshira (2/5): - They did not give us a receipt and the sheets were very dirty
- Rosa (10/5): - Me gusta por su tranquilidad y limpieza. Asesible a todas las areas.
- Amy (8/5): - We enjoyed out stay. There not being an elevator made for some exercise when you are on the 3rd floor. Luckily I am a middle aged women who was able to carry all of my and my 70 year old mothers luggage in trips. I got my workout in! Anyway, property was nice. I liked the area around and it had some food option. Great little breakfast place a couple blocks away, pizzas place and a bar/restaurant two blocks away. The rooms are basic but its clean, we felt safe and we enjoyed our stay. My only suggestion for people who can't do stairs is try to call ahead and get a ground floor.
- jose (6/5): - I had to fix the toilet kept running all night (being a contractor), i knew what to look for. Saw a couple of bugs (werent crazy about that). Finally, parting is limited (very limited)
- Jose M (8/5): - Cerca del área metropolitana
- CHRISTOPHER (4/5): - It took 10 minutes for someone to come to the front desk when we arrived. Called twice with no answer. No coffee in room. Some bugs on TV remote. Insufficient soap in shower. Beds are fine.
- Niili (10/5): - The personal was friendly.
- Daniel (6/5): - Near University
- LARRY (10/5): - Great location. Shopping, dining very close
- John (10/5): - The property is in the university district, with plenty of students. As our 3rd story windows could not be secured, street noise was a problem at night. The streets and sidewalks are in disrepair. But we felt completely safe, both indoors and outside. There were at least a dozen different very nice places to eat and drink within a one-block walk. The room was mostly clean and reasonably well-appointed.
Comparing Dreams Inn to the Holiday Inn Express where we stayed at the beginning of the week, Dreams was about 1/3 the price. We did not try the free "breakfast".
- Junia (2/5): - This hotel was the worst I have been in my whole life. The hotel had no elevator, and they had put
Me on the third floor going on a cruise with luggages I had to bring my own luggages upstairs and it was six of us you can imagine. The area was very ghetto, lot of noise, bug beds etc. don’t recommend this hotel to any human beings.
- Donny (6/5): - Property seemed well maintained, some cleaning issues, staff presence to welcome arriving guests.
- Virgen (6/5): - La habitación no era la que me ofrecieron
Aire acondicionado dañado, me cambiaron a otra habitación
- Junia (2/5): - Our group was going on a cruise we had a few luggage’s there was no elevator to carry our luggage’s we had to bring them up to the third floor ourselves. The neighborhood was ghetto very filthy, the rooms were filthy no hot water etc will not consider anyone to go there.
- Ted (6/5): - Room on third floor! No elevator. The room was tiny, aged, specially the condition of the mattress. Way old! Lobby space was limited. Staff was wonderful.
In essence there is a facility issue. We saw efforts of improvement. However, difficult for frequent travelers to find comfort. Surroundings were like expected in Central American urban settings.
