• Douglas (9/5): Such great people - The staff is really great. Komamg, ayu, krisna, budi, made, kadat these are really good staff. And many have worked here for over 10 years. Guess vg boss. Belgium fella. Who also stay in the villa next door. Breakfast changes daily . We stayed a week and they are different daily except the starter which is a basket of bread, granola and fruits. Certainly healthy. Pool is very relaxing. Hardly any mosquito given it's proximity to nature and padi field. The location while near to Ubud centre isn't very walkable at night... Guess the road condition are similar throughout ubud. But there is always kadat, budi, krisna on call for the free shuttle service to anywhere in ubud center. Any further you will have to gojek. It will take 7 min by shuttle and 15 nin to walk. The shower is outdoor nice when it's clear weather but when it rains...
• Jihyun (10/5): - Villa Savandari was a really nice place to stay. I stayed for 4 nights, and the staff was so kind and friendly that I was able to start my trip to Bali comfortably. It was a beautiful place with a quiet and spacious room, a bathroom with a view of the sky, and a balcony in front of the pool. Just staying in the place made me feel like my fatigue was gone. In the afternoon, tea and sweet desserts were served every day, and they were delicious. They also provide a shuttle to Ubud Market. I was so busy when I arrived in Bali that I couldn't properly thank the staff for their kindness, so I'm sorry I checked out. I'm leaving this review as a thank you. If I have another chance to travel to Bali, I definitely want to stay at this hotel again.

• Minkyun (10/5): 번잡한 우붓에서 너무 좋았던 가족 여행 - 여행중에 리뷰 잘 안남기는데 여기는 남겨야겠어요 꾸따나 스미냑은 몇번 방문했는데 우붓은 처음이에요 번잡하고 시끄러운 곳은 딱 질색인데 그런면에서 villa sabandari 정말 최고입니다 시내에서 약간 떨어졌지만 느낌상으론 꽤 먼것처럼 한적하고 조용해요 저녁이되면 어렸을 때 시골 할머니댁 온것처럼 고요하고 풀벌레소리, 새소리, 빗소리, 자연 그대로의 소리만 있습니다 평안하고 안락함 그 자체입니다 원하는 시간에 개별 테라스로 조식, 애프터눈 티 가져다 주시고 수영하고 오면 물기도 바로 제거, 잠시 외출 했다 오면 침구 정리, 타월 보충 바로바로 해주세요 어찌나 친절한지 죄송할 정도랍니다 걸어서 우붓 왕궁 10-15분 정도고요. 왓츠앱으로 원하는 시간 말하면 셔틀 서비스도 해주세요. 한마디로 단 하나도 불편함이 없다는 말입니다 샤워실 천장이 뻥 뚫려서 군대때 생각이 나긴하네요 ㅋㅋ 나름 신선합니다 그래도 단점을 하나 꼽아야 한다면 주변에 사원이 있는지 종교 행위 소리가 어렴풋하게 들리긴 하는데 밤 열시정도면 끝나는거 같아요 아직 체크아웃 하기도 전인데 가족과 함께 좋은 가격에 프라이빗 하게 휴식중이라 고마워서 리뷰 남기네요 다음에 또 우붓오면 다시올 의향 10000% 입니다 너무 조용하다보니 투숙객이 많거나 주변 환경이 조금만 시끄러워도 소음에 방해될 수 있는건 살짝 아쉽지만 그건 매번 다를테니 감안하시면 될 것 같네요

The hotel does not have a restaurant in it but it provides super room-service dinner. Position is amazing because it is outside of Ubud traffic and noise, you need to walk a little for the city center or take the bus (complementary and provided by villa sabandari) It is overall very clean, however the bed curtains were dirty with dead insects and other stains. Sheets and towels instead were clean.

• Razvan (10/5): Amazing experience in Ubud. - The place is amazing, maybe the best value for money place in Ubud. The pictures don’t do justice for the place, it is better. Location in the city is great (15 minutes from Ubud Palace and you find everything on the way) the location itself is amazing (jungle vibe in the city) and also the facilities (pool, cab etc.). The staff is also very friendly, always there to help but never bothers you if you do not need it. And the breakfast…delicious. We booked one of the rooms at the first floor and it was worth it! That we did not book it for longer time.

• Helen (10/5): A perfect, peaceful place to rest your mind and soul! - Had an absolutely wonderful stay at Villa Sabandari. The villa is located a little outside the centre of Ubud, so it is possible to walk in (or take the free shuttle) but the surrounding area is very quiet and peaceful. As soon as we came through the gates it felt like a mini oasis with the beautiful garden and we were greeted warmly. Our room was perfect, comfortable; we loved having breakfast on the terrace and afternoon tea by the pool (or wherever you want it), and showering in the fresh air under the sky. The welcome massage was great (we only got round to it on the second last day!) and the little library was a nice touch too though we didn't use it. All the staff were very helpful and attentive. There were other guests there but as there are only 6 rooms, it felt quiet. Just the sounds of birds and the breeze :) I could go on. Even better than the photos! Nothing - I just wish I could have stayed longer - was sad to check out!!
• Laura (10/5): Amazing getaway in Ubud for a week. Would 100% recommend! - It is a beautiful and peaceful place, just a 5 minute walk from Ubud center. It had just 6 rooms, but a lot of super friendly staff. You can ask everything and they help with everything. You can free pick up and drop off at Ubud center between 10am en 10.30pm, which is amazing service. The room is quite big and (looks) new and it gets cleaned thoroughly everyday by housekeeping. Doors close very good so no insects in te room. You get a electric anti-mosquito thing on your room and they have some kind of candle thing for your balcony to keep the mosquitoes away. It works really well, we didn’t see any! Would add more amazing pictures, if it would be possible. Concluding, amazing place, highly recommended!! Nothing

• Stewparker99 (9/5): We can highly recommend the Villa Sambandari and its staff - The staff provided an excellent pick-up /drop-off service to the city area whenever we needed it. This was both very handy and convenient. The rooms had a listing of recommended restaurants in Ubud, we tried several of their recommendations and found out the recommendations were accurate as both the meals and service were outstanding at all we tried. Breakfasts were complimentary and we really enjoyed the fresh variety of fruit and cooked breakfasts we had each day. My wife has already told me several times she wants to stay again at Villa Sambandari when we next go to Ubud. All good
• Louise (10/5): Exceptional - It was a beautiful hotel, such a beautiful setting, with a pool looking out onto rice fields, lots of beautiful trees and flowers. A huge, comfy bed with a mosquito net, outdoor bath and shower in the private back garden. Staff were lovely, we had a free massage as part of our deal, breakfasts were great, we were able to order food there for lunch/dinner as well. It was pretty empty, as it was rainy season, so we hardly knew there were any other guests, but there are only 6 rooms in the first place, so it's lovely and quiet and just removed enough from the centre of Ubud (though it is walkable.) They also offered a free shuttle service into Ubud, which we really apprecaited.

Breakfast is great and served on your own balcony or terrasse, overlookkng the garden, pool and ricefields. Just beautiful, and all the staff were so nice and accomodating. They will drive you to and pick you up from any location in Ubud!

• Karen (10/5): Simply superb in every way you can imagine - Villa Sabandari is simply superb in every way. The gardens, pool, outlook and rooms are all gorgeous in their design and upkeep. We particularly appreciated how thoughtfully things had been set up - placement of loungers for a perfect mix of shade/sun, the sarongs and umbrellas in each villa, the cleanliness, mosquito nets over the bed (though we didn't need it) healthy snacks from the kitchen, comfortable outdoor furniture on each villa's terrace. Staff lit a mosquito coil (artistically hidden) outside each villa every evening to ensure we were comfortable (we were!). The afternoon teas and breakfasts were amazing. The owner and staff are lovely people. That some staff have been there many years tells you it's a well-run and respectful workplace (which matters to us). Staff and owner were always available to help us with arrangements, directions, drop-offs and pick-ups. I got sick with "Bali belly" (from food eaten elsewhere) and they made it easy for us to stay on an extra few nights, and even delivered bowls of plain rice to help me recover. Finally - and this always matters to me - the bed was incredibly comfortable. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Only a short distance to walk to a few local restaurants & for anything further away a free shuttle was provided which was great. The rooms are clean and beautiful & spacious. The staff were also very friendly and their level of service was fantastic. We enjoyed breakfast on our balcony every morning, the menu varied each morning. We also enjoyed a spa treatment each which was wonderful. No need to think about where we will stay on our next trip to Ubud. Couldn't fault anything

• Sara (9/5): It was lovely and I would happily stay there again. - Beautiful location, very central to get into Ubud easily. I walked mainly but there was also a shuffle bus provided which was great. The staff were also very nice. There could have been better options for vegan and vegetarians for the breakfast and alternative milks for coffee etc but I was informed once I checked out that if I had asked the evening before the staff would have gone and got this for me which is great to know for another time.
• Suzie (10/5): Peaceful oasis 10 min walk from town - Fabulous villa. Adults only. Only 6 or 7 villas so very peaceful. Its a 10 minutes or so easy walk to town but the staff will drop you or pick you up on demand if you prefer. Its quicker and nicer to walk. Opposite a temple with rice fields in between. It was fully booked when we stayed but we didn't really see anyone. Awesome breakfast served on villa balcony when you like. The transfer to the villas from the airport is about 90 mins with lots of typical Bali traffic. Ubud itself is so different to the beaches. There are a few rice field walks from town which we highly recommend. The Ridge walk wasn't as great as we'd read to be honest. The downtown rice field walks are better. Eateries are abundant but try going up laneways to eat in family homes in their gardens. We also did ebike to tegalalang rice fields which would recommend. Also hired a car and driver for the day and went up to Munduk via waterfalls and forests which was awesome. Truly the Sabandari Villas are a perfect location away from busy but close to town. Gorgeous villas. Even had an outside shower in the rain!!! The staff are so lovely. Highly recommend. The cost was well above other similar places but we felt it was value for money. Nothing. Everything was perfect.
• Doaä (10/5): Le calme à deux pas du centre d’Ubud - Nous avons séjourné 3 nuits dans la chambre Telek. Nous avons apprécié la décoration de cette chambre avec la salle de bain extérieure. Tout était très propre et la chambre était très confortable. L’hôtel vous propose des services gratuits tels qu’un chauffeur qui peut vous conduire dans le centre d’Ubud (qui peut être rejoint à pied en 15 min) ainsi qu’à destination de quelques sites à Ubud (monkey Forest etc). Un goûter est servi tous les jours (gratuit également). L’hôtel dispose d’un petit spa où j’ai pu profiter d’un massage balinais très relaxant. Le personnel est merveilleux et aux petits soins. L’établissement dispose d’une agréable piscine intimiste (il n’y a pas beaucoup de chambres ce qui est appréciable par rapport aux gros complexes). Tous les ingrédients sont donc présents afin que vous puissiez passer un séjour apaisant à Ubud en dehors de toute son agitation. • Antony (9/5): Wonderful place and great staff. Highly recommended! - Staying here while in Ubud made our trip so much more memorable and enjoyable. There is no shortage of accommodation choices here, so I'm glad we found this little gem! We had plans to spend about a week on Rote Island and then travel to Ubud for a few days, but our Rote ferry got cancelled and due to the incoming storm, we were concerned we might get stuck on Rote and miss our flight(s). Reached out to Villa Sabandari and asked if our reservation could be pulled up a few days earlier. Dirk was quick to respond and was able to accommodate our date change. We changed our flight out of Kupang and arrived a few days later. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the lovely staff with a glass of fresh watermelon juice. Delicious! I love the fact there's only six rooms here (caters to adults only). It's cozy and intimate and the staff here are courteous and exceptionally attentive (subtle, not overbearing). Everything on this property is well maintained and the location is very close to the main part of Ubud. They do offer a courteous shuttle for drop offs and pick ups in town that runs most of the day, but we never used it as it's probably faster to walk due to the congestion on the roads. The changing breakfasts are fresh and delicious and the afternoon tea is a lovely treat. After a day of wandering the town, the infinity pool is perfect way to cool off and relax, while looking over the rice fields next door. I needed some down time and for me, this place checked all of the boxes. We were planning to head back to Denpasar and stay the last couple of nights there before flying out since we have such an early flight (the commute to the airport from Ubud is over an hour), which means leaving before 5am, but decided to add two more nights here and just sleep in the taxi. For us, the early morning wake up was worth it! Thank you Villa Sabandari for making our Indonesian trip so enjoyable.

The staff was super friendly and helpful and so far this had the best service: afternoon tea (though we did not use), breakfast enough to satisfy most and served at own balcony, 15 mins free massage, cleaning at own convenience and free shuttle car around Ubud. Overall, amazing - will go again.

There were only 6 rooms so I didn’t seen many other guests during my stay, felt like I had the place to myself. Had the pool to myself on both days, which was so nice. The location was great, walking distance from the centre of Ubud, but having the use of the driver to pick up and drop off whenever required for free was fantastic. The rooms were very spacious and felt luxurious. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I arrived a couple of hours earlier than check in time because I’d moved from another accommodation and they made up my room within 30 mins and I could check straight in which was very much appreciated. Breakfast was really nice too.

• Simon (5/5): Nice room but too many problems - Nice spacious room, well appointed. Bathroom set up is good. Separate outside shower works very well. Very good WiFi. Comfortable front terrace living area is very useful with a nice view to pool and garden. We struck terrible weather conditions which somewhat distracted from enjoying all the facilities. Perhaps because it was Christmas Day the initial check in was a very amateurish procedure. Not professionally handled. We were left alone for 5 minutes without a word. English speaking was problematic. Unfortunately a large tokay lizard joined us inside the room which the staff could not remove. Then a plague of ants appeared from inside a cupboard. The smart TV only for YouTube. Why? The next door neighbors rooster was loud and clear inside our room before the rain settled in. We decided to cut our losses and return home at 9.00pm. It was obvious that the rooster was going to wake us up at 5.00am. There was no way I could sleep in that room knowing a lizard was roaming around. Extremely disappointing.

Good choice to spend some time away from the noise and be close to the nature. villas have a sharing pool and they are designed in a way to have a view to the beautiful trees and the rice fields. breakfast is a surprised meal which comes with some bread, pastries, fresh juices, tea or coffee. Afternoon tea/coffee and snacks is another lovely thing to have included. villa has all necessary services although I would like to see better towels quality. Shower is an open area, it is a nice experience to try but keep this in mind if it matters to you. staff are really nice, polite and ready to help any time. Tours, laundry and scooter rental can be arranged by the villa too which is an advantage. access to the villas is a bit tricky in a narrow uphill road but staff provide a free shuttle to places around which I believe is a very nice gesture

Good, helpful and nice staff. Overall excellent experience. The big ants that paid us daily visits in the bathroom. No rooms or villas for families with kids and therefore we needed 2 villa's instead of the preferred one villa.

• Naomi (10/5): Best stay in Bali - Villa Sabandari was our favourite place we stayed in Bali! The villa was great and had everything you need, we loved the outside bath and shower and the snacks from Flock in the mini bar (would recommend trying these or visiting the restaurant in town!). The breakfast changed every day which was a nice change from the buffets and was good quality and freshly cooked. The pool was beautiful and we enjoyed the location of the villa being away from the noisy streets. The villa provided a shuttle service into Ubud which we found really helpful. The staff here were amazing and were always friendly and happy to help - could not fault the staff at all! Will definitely stay here again when we come back to Bali :) The only small issue we had was that the chemicals in the pool did turn my hair (dyed blonde) and our swimsuits slightly green. We may have just got unlucky with our timing going into the pool and this did not put us off going in the next day as it was too beautiful not to!

Wir waren im oberen Zimmer Barong,. Ich bin sehr pingelig und bewerte das gesamte Anwesen als sehr sauber. Traumhaft. Bleibt so lange ihr könnt.

They provided a shuttle service into Ubud centre and home everytime we needed it. They made sure we were always well stocked with fresh towels and water bottles and everything else we needed. We were lucky enough to be given a room upgrade too, as a lovely surprise. Breakfast was great too. I loved everything about this place.
• Sandra (10/5): Luxury relaxation in Bali mountains - I have never stayed at a villa like this before with only 6 rooms, but I will definitely do it again! The service made me feel like royalty and each day, breakfast was delicious and served on your veranda. Pool was cooling and the afternoon tea was refreshing. They provided nightly mosquito coils which was a concern, but ended up not being a problem at all. Room was so comfy and the staff could not be beat. Shuttle to town was convenient. Zero complaints and would recommend.

We spent most of our time lounging by the pool and relaxing. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful; nothing is too big or small for them to help with. All the breakfast and snacks are really tasty as well as the coffee or tea. Was a huge help having the driver to drop off and pick up in downtown Ubud as we did not rent a scooter and they give you a cell phone so you can call them to come and get you. We were incredibly sad to leave and would definitely stay at Villa Sabandari again.

Construction noise starts at 8am and they work until late in the evening. Another little critic is that the employees are nice only until the morning you check out. One of the first sentence while bringing breakfast was: when you check out? We need room.

Sehr lecker, ebenso das Frühstück, welches auf der privaten Terrasse eingenommen werden konnte. Ein kostenloses Shuttel brachte einen zu jederzeit nach Ubud City. So ist det Standort außerhalb kein Problem. Alles in allem eine tolle Unterkunft. Unbedingt weiter zu empfehlen!

From the beautiful design, to the peaceful environment, to the friendly and incredible service -- the whole experience was a dream. And when we got a flat tire on our rented scooter, someone drove into town and picked us up on the side of the road within 10 minutes I absolutely can't wait to come back to this hotel.
