Guest Reviews
- Bilal (8/5): - Decent
- Wayne (6/5): - Hotel located in downtown area, a very busy part of town, lots of traffic and noise. Hotel was in a convenient location to restaurants and bars. Rooms were simple and clean, staff is very friendly and helpful.
- TETSUO (8/5): - near from metro station.
there are no lift, thus, heavy luggage will burden you.
- Andre (8/5): - Confused about the payment,
- Michael (10/5): Clean, Simple and Friendly - Enjoyed a 3 night stay, the room was small, clean and suitable. Staff were very friendly. 1 issue, the rooms are not sound proof as stated, there noise from inside the hotel one of the nights (banging and clattering).
- Marina (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay at Estrela de Arganil. The room was clean. The staff was very friendly. We also really liked the neighbourhood. The hotel is very close to the metro and is a walking distance from many great restaurants. I also appreciated the coffee machine on the first floor.
- Nathalia (8/5): Llaves - Agradable experiencia.
- Michal (10/5): - It was great. This place is a great starting point for trips around Lisbon and other places. Sometimes at night you can hear the subway, but we were tired enough that it didn't bother us at all.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Zero privacy. - Zero privacy... The property description reads the rooms are “soundproofed” – but this is not true; you can hear every incoming SMS ding from a phone in the adjoining rooms, and you can follow along all conversations word by word. This really should be addresses by the hotel. Further, the room images on the website show balconies, or at least windows. My room neither had a balcony, nor did it have a usable window (the only window was in the bathroom, with frosted glass, facing a wall). Staff is friendly, and the rooms are clean. The property is about 20 minutes walking from the center/riverfront area.
- Mikhail (8/5): - Super friendly staff
Very small rooms but air conditioned, cleaning services are good
Can hear the metro train
Close to the metro to head to the city core
Localização maravilhosa e perto do metrô .
- Stefania (10/5): A Lisbona - Hôtel molto buono in posizione ottima rispetto al centro.vicino a metropolitana e fermate bus.
- Marco (10/5): Ottimo week-end - Ottima esperienza, disponibilità massima del personale in merito a gestione bagagli/check in.
Stanze ampie e pulite.
- mark (8/5): - The hotel was great for what I paid. The place was clean and newly remodeled. The only bad thing was that the mattress was very uncomfortable. If it wasn't for that, I would have given 5 stars.
- Wilson (2/5): - I pain online that that they force to pay me again
- Jayne (8/5): - This was my third stay at the property. I enjoy very
much its location, cleanliness and the sense of
safety and privacy. Staff is friendly, helpful but Portuguese is the language of the property. English speaking staff only available a certain hours of operation. I will look forward to staying here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Greag value for money - Excellent location. Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable rooms. Would definitely stay here again.
- Charron (8/5): - The wifi was not very good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great staff, location and room if a bit small
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property was fight next to the metro. The staff were very helpful & went well beyond their duty. If you have problems going up steps this may not be the Hotel for you. However, great little place!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Close to everything and the staff was exceptional .
- Verified traveler (8/5): One night stay in Lisbon - Clean, comfortable accommodation with good shower facility. Check in/out was efficient, formal rather than friendly. There is no lift so you may not wish to be located on the third floor!
- Charlotte (10/5): - Jose Paul and staff were very welcoming and accomodating! Excellent recomendations for restaurants.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Inadequate locks. Able to reach my hand out the window and shake hands with the people in the next room. No AC so had to keep windows open and did not feel safe.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Normal please. Cheep and good for 1 or 2 nights! Good location.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We liked the basic amenities were there for a short stay in Lisbon. Excellent value for money!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Boa localização limpo quartos espaçosos recomendo o local
- SNS (8/5): - Convenient, clean, affordable, friendly helpful staff... But walls are paperthin (bring earplugs and or whitenoise machine)... Also no fridge which would have been ideal.
- Samuel (10/5): Great place to stay in Lisbon! - Great place to stay in Lisbon! friendly staff and good location! Good wifi, good space and clean.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Staff was very nice but the actual place not a very nice place I wouldn’t go back didn’t like the location tiny rooms no elevators had to drag the luggage up the stairs
- Maria (8/5): - next time we want on the 1 floor last time we stay at 3 floor no lift thank you
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The manager is friendly, helpful, welcoming and speaks English. Rooms are small but clean. Has air conditioning. No elevator. Centrally located for transportation and not in a touristy area. Close to inexpensive restaurants. Easy access to airport via metro.
- Verified traveler (10/5): excellent location, staffs are very helpful - very good stay
- Biró (8/5): Really nice :) - There is a very nice lady at the reception who welcomed us ...the rooms are small but clean..the location is great !
- david (8/5): - Excellent, staff frendly, first class room cleaning service, pity no breakfast, but cafe next door. Only one negative aspect- NO LIFT - being housed on the third floor was a problem for an older person after a tiring day around town, especially in a city built on 7 hills. Suggest future bookers request a second floor room.
- Paula (10/5): - Nice staff
- Lucas C (8/5): great value for your money! - Incredibly clean hotel/pension. The location is really convenient (close to subway and bus lines). Staff is nice and friendly. They do not serve breakfast, but they have vending machines and a good bakery right downstairs. It's a great value for your money, I completely recommend staying here!
- Hugo (10/5): - nice hotel friendly people close to everything nice cafe next door second time here great
- John (8/5): - Nice hotel, friendly and professional staff. Decent size room in clean state. Location is close to metro stop but can walk to some sights. Plenty of food and shop options nearby.
Note that hotel does not have a lift.
- Sergio (8/5): - This is NOT a hotel; it is a “residencial.” As such, you will not find the traditional hotel amenities (concierge, restaurant, large rooms, elevators, etc. ). The customer service, however, was fantastic, the place is in a very convenient location, and the place was tidy and clean. The only drawback is that this is a four-story building, with the reception on the second floor (Portuguese count the second floor as the first!). This presents quite an issue, as my room was on the fourth floor (third for the Portuguese), I had two suitcases and a backpack, and had to haul all of them climbing the stairs, since there is no elevator!
- Verified traveler (6/5): You Get What You Pay For - This hotel is an example of “you get what you pay for”. It’s pretty centrally located & close to public transit, but the room was small and the neighborhood not so great. The people at the desk were very helpful and pleasant and the room was clean, but I would not stay there again should I return to Lisbon.
- Vivienne (10/5): Perfect stay - Cozy, excellent staff, would definitely recommend it!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nice, easy access to metro from airport and also to visit the city.
- Vladimir (8/5): - The hotel is nearby the metro station and very close to downtown. The staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms are very clean. Water pressure in a shower was quite low, but acceptable.
The only disadvantages are that the window of the room was facing the street and it was quite noisy.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Convenient location.
Small, clean room. But the rooms I stayed (308, 306) are quite noisy from traffic on the main avenue.
Overall good value, with free cancellation. You get what you pay for.
- carlos (8/5): - I was very disapointed to know that there´s not a lifter in this hotel. You must put this information very clear on the site, once it´s informed only at the last page.
- N (4/5): - No air conditioning low water pressure no escalators
- Ryan (10/5): No frills economically friendly hotel - This is a no frills hotel room. The front desk staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. English speaking helped a lot too. The room was very small, but also very clean (bathroom too) and had a TV with lots of English programming. The bed wasn't comfortable, but after a full day of sight seeing, I was so tired that it didn't matter. The location is convenient to subways, but a bit of walk to the city's center and waterfront. It's really quiet at night time. Overall, an affordable hotel that does the job of providing a place to sleep and shower after lots of sight seeing.
- Jochen (8/5): - The only real issue was that my room was to the street and very noisy. If you get a room away from the street this is probably a good place to stay.
its a no fuzz place without elevator. Small but clean rooms with OK beds and small but clean bathrooms. Breakfast you can have down the street in so coffee places. Is bit a walk to the center but doable. And there are buses and Metro close by.
If you are just looking for a bed to crash and have shower and do to mind the car noise from the street this is a good place. As said, getting a room away from the street might fix the biggest issue here.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent basic hotel - Good location. Everything you would want from a basic hotel. Very nice staff.
- Lynn (10/5): Does the job - The hotel was quite central to areas we visited. Would recommend, however there are lots of stairs so not that great if you are less mobile
- Donna (8/5): Close to airport - This small hotel was adequate for the money. Nicely decorated and very clean. The only drawback for us was the number of stairs to get to the reception and then the room on the third floor. So, I would say, beware to those who are older and have heavy suitcases.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location ,nice and clean ,small hotel great for a base if you just want a bed at night ,Lisbon is a nice city ,we were there for the football so didn't see a lot of the city .
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location, staff very friendly.
No lift, noisy.
- hubby and wife (8/5): Canada visits lisbon - Staff were fantastic and helpful in every possible way. Our room was very quiet which is what we requested. Location was within walking distance to places we were interested in. Meto station within a couple of blocks.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good location and Metro - Hotel was willing to store a suitcase while I was off in another region. Staff was very helpful.
- Hanan (8/5): Renovated hotel very close to metro - Hotel Renovated as new.
only 150 m from metro green line. very easy access to all you need.
under the hotel tou will find "subway" (that open wery late) and very nice and cheap coffee shop.
No elevator in hotel. building have 4 floors (3 of hotel). we stayed in last floor.
- Verified traveler (8/5): great location - this is the second time staying in this hotel. the location is very very good for the price. it is super clean. quiet. and love the restaurant next door. if you want a clean and cheap place; this is it.
- David (10/5): great for the price - this hotel is exactly what it says here in the reviews. great location and price. super clean; no frills hotel. the restaurant next door is fabulous and inexpensive.
- Evan (10/5): Excellent value and great service - Best hotel staff I've met in years and great room cleaning. The only issue I had was a thick and tough pillow. Otherwise, would highly recommend this place.
- Frederick (10/5): - Grest!
- Sarah (10/5): Great value, clean, quiet - Updated, modern room and bathroom. Very clean and quiet. Excellent, quiet air conditioning unit. Located in nice area away from tourist areas. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent value - Excellent value!! Very clean and safe. Away from the busiest tourist areas but on a busy road so many shops and restaurants near by. Small but very comfortable room. Exceptionally clean. Would stay here again if I was ever in Lisbon again and would recommend to anyone. There is no elevator so you have to take you luggage up stairs but do not let this deter you - this does not seem uncommon in Lisbon.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good location near the middle of Lisbon. - I stayed here for about two weeks while visiting Lisbon.
- Marek (6/5): - Good location, clean, close to the subway and eating. Cold room without heating.
- Norman (6/5): - our room was on first floor near the main road so pretty noisy!
- Gary (10/5): An enjoyable stay - Staff are always very warm and welcoming. Room cleaned to an extremely high standard and often very quickly. This hotel is always reliable for me to use as a base camp and is nicely located and gives me quick access to the metro system. I would not hesitate to use this hotel again - this is the only hotel I now use whenever I am in Lisbon.
- Trevor (8/5): - We had a good stay in a not so touristy area of Lisbon, which was nice. The cafe next door was super cheap compared to other parts of Lisbon we visited. It was a few minute walk to the subway from the hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great hotel for the best price - Great hotel for the price. Within walking distance to historic neighborhoods, train station, etc. or just a couple metro stops away. Air conditioning worked great and so did the wifi. They even let us check in early since our flight landed in the morning, so we were able to shower, etc. And stored our luggage for free after checkout. We walked to the Rossio train station from the hotel, and also up to the Alfama, and then took metro home at night. Felt totally safe.
- Simone (10/5): Good value. Hotel recently refurbished. - Good hotel overall. Recently refurbished. Good price and good position (less then 5 minutes walk from the closest tube station). Three floors but no elevator. Room clean and comfy.
- John and Mary (6/5): Well priced - The room was okay in every way, although with a slight cigarette smoke odor that went away. It was a walkup, to the third floor, which we could handle. No elevator, but the room was clean, and modern. If you need a wakeup call, bring an alarm clock. Worth the #7 Euros we paid.
- willaim (8/5): hotel - Good hotel
- Jennifet (8/5): Nice hotel in good location - staff helpful and efficient, hotel very clean. Reception on first floor - no lift. No breakfast but can buy from local cafe downstairs. Located four stops on the Metro from Rossi Square so makes it a reasonable location at a halfway decent price.
- Irv and Kathy (8/5): Good location. - The room was rather small but clean and a good location. The staff was friendly and helpful although no all spoke English. Plenty of English TV and good wifi service.
- Tinuke (10/5): Lovely hotel! - Chose to stay at this hotel based on the reviews and all I can say is that general reviews don't lie. The hotel was well located, easy to find, many places around to eat in, many shops to do some shopping if you want to. The rooms were a good size with modern bathroom. It was clean and the TV had English speaking channels. The staff was really nice and helpful despite their limited English, will definitely stay there again if I am ever in Lisbon again!
- Fleur (8/5): Good value in the hart of the city. - Good value in the hart of the city. Good value in the hart of the city. Good value in the hart of the city. Good value in the hart of the city. Good value in the hart of the city. Good value in the hart of the city. Good value in the hart of the city. Good value in the hart of the city.
- Glenn (8/5): - We stayed overnight between connecting flights so we did not want an expensive hotel, this hotel is everything it says in the publicity, very quiet too, could not have wished for more. Easy to reach - we go the underground but in fact it is not much more to get a taxi to (little tip, it costs more to get a taxi FROM the airport than to go TO the airport as taxis charge a lot more if they go from the airport zone, maybe walk a bit away from the airport if you get a taxi FROM the airport to get out of this expensive zone!) Would stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Perfect location - The location was ideal. Close to the main parts but not to close which meant u werent getting scammed by resurants! The man at the counter was always a pleasure to see!
- Robert (8/5): simple, budget, clean, convenient to metro - simply... for the price, you can't beat it. rooms are comfortable enough and decent size for europe standards. the wifi works great and check in was a breeze. our room was even ready hours early which is nice after a travel day. the neighborhood's nothing special. not much in regards of nice restaurants or things to do, but it's right in between two metro stops, so getting around is super easy and location to the airport is pretty convenient. happy with our choice and would recommend to anyone looking for budget accommodations and a home base in Lisbon.
- YY (8/5): Nice hotel - Close to Metro. Staff are friendly. Will return to this hotel in the next visit.
- Verified traveler (6/5): overall experience was good - overall experience was good, would recommend it to everyone
- Molly (10/5): Good value, great location - This older Residencia has been beautifully updated. Although on a very busy street, because of quality double paned windows and good shutters it is very quiet. The location was perfect.....away from the touristy areas yet within walking distance to the main squares or a 5 min walk to the Metro.
- Clement (8/5): Very good cheap offer - Good neighbourhood, on the main street, walking distance from the metro station, even a little far from the touristic areas (but with metro is quick).
Very friendly staff, no elevator (we had to drag on the stairs our heavy luggages for 3 floors), small but clean room, big windows (with blinds), clean bathroom.
We enjoyed it.
- Aleksandra (8/5): Estrela de Arganil for 6 days - Good position for exploring the city. Near the airport. Good connection with all parts of the city by bus, tram or metro. We stayed there for 6 nights and it was nice. Stuff was helpful and polite. Neighbourhood is ok.
