Guest Reviews
- AZRAD (10/5): Great location, city views! - The condo complex is a little dated, but if you get into the retro atmosphere, is fantastic! The views from the deck of the city are beautiful, quiet and bug free. Behind the complex is the Santa Catalina mountains. You may see coyotes, javalinas and other desert creatures as you sit.
If you are a country club member, the clubhouse for Skyline CC is walking distance. They offer reciprocal membership for up to 2 weeks.
Put on your 70s clothes and try it out!
- mspexplorer (2/5): Don't bother trying to reserve - Reviewed their website, which indicated availability. Condos look nice enough and appear to have great views so we attempted to reserve a unit. No response to email query. Did get a response to a call, but woman was hurried and confused about availability. Promised call from property manager never came. No response to follow up email. Clearly they aren't interested in the business. Don't waste your time trying to book.
- Derrick (10/5): Mission Hill Casitas_July2015 - A fantastic place to stay with one-of-a-kind views of the Tucson metro area. The room (a suite, actually) was wonderfully and fully furnished. Was very delighted to see a washer/dryer in there. We had a semi-private balcony, complete with nice patio furniture and a lounge chair. It has enough shade to enjoy a nice lunch or evening dinner, and enough sun to tan, if you wanted to. Big screen TV, Blu-ray player, Comcast DVR, microwave, fridge, washer/dryer, toaster, skylights (!),thick carpet, ceramic tile, even dishes and silverware were standard. Also, the facilities are on a private golf course, with access to a very well stocked (rowing machines, cardio bikes, spin bikes, elliptical machines, strength training, free weights, and an honest-to-God StairClimber - it makes real stairs) gym and Olympic swimming pool. Fine dining is also available in the Clubhouse next to the gym. I highly recommend this place for a Southwestern getaway.
- Joseph (6/5): Fantastic views, but not luxury - This is a wonderful spot particularly if you're fond of City and mountain views. The units are located in a very high end neighborhood at the top of a long hill. But this is not a luxury hotel, in fact it is not even a hotel. It is a condo that you rent by the day and you pay a cleaning fee at the end of your stay which is not included in the rates. There is no daily maid service. The clubhouse has a very nice fitness center and a casual restaurant downstairs, all with phenomenal views. There is only one restaurant, not three as the website says, and with spotty hours. The condition of your room or suite will depend on the individual owner and their preferences. Our unit was fine but had some furniture showing serious wear. All in all the scenery and setting make it a worthwhile stay, but just don't expect luxury.
- Arlyne (10/5): Outstanding views and comfort - The Mission Hill Casitas couldn't have been better! Perched on the side of the Catalina mountains, they provided an outstanding view of Tucson both from the picture windows in the living area and from the spacious balcony which also housed patio tables, chairs, and grill.
We rented the 1 bedroom apartment which was incredibly well furnished, very comfortable, and stocked with an array of topnotch appliances, kitchenware, spices, etc. The units are located in a guarded community which is extremely quiet and well kept. There are grocery stores and restaurants a very close drive away and easy access to the major sightseeing venues in the Tucson area. While we didn't use them, there are also tennis courts, a pool, golf course, and a clubhouse that served lunch and dinner as well has hosting happy hours.
gave us all we could have wanted on our vacation.
- Tammie (10/5): Great views, quiet and clean. - Nice condo with great views in gated country club community in the Catalina foothills. I'm not a fan of hotels and this was a charming alternative. Clean, quiet, exceptionally comfortable with good cable package and WiFi. Would definitely rent again if I have to travel to Tucson again.
- ben (10/5): perfect place. - First of all I want to say, what a beautiful place and an awesome view, this was not a hotel, it was a vacation condo, with a full kitchen, and no hotel services, we were only there for two nights, we will go back, even though we live here in Tucson.
- Piramidon (8/5): Beautiful surroundings - Location is perfect. Right in the foot heels of Catalinas, gated community, beautiful views and close to trails, restaurants, shopping. Adjacent is a large Country golf club, if you are interested... Beautiful view of sunset...
Room/studio was large, very well stocked. Toiletries, all kitchenware you may need during your stay. Washer (I guess with dryer) was available and even detergent provided which we did not use.
Large balcony with beautiful view which we unfortunately did not have time to enjoy (so much to do and see around the area!).
Few negatives: design wasn't much to our taste - I guess 80s, and wall-to-wall carpet is my least favourite floor covering... But these are our personal preferences.
Also, keep in mind that décor and finishes of the units vary as they are owned by different owners. So if you have any particular request/preference - contact the property prior to booking.
- ChicagoBondguy (10/5): A perfect winter retreat with great amenities and privacy. - What a great spot! private casitas on the grounds of a private and gated country club. Guests have full use of the country club which has great dining, golf, tennis on clay courts, pool, and first class exercise facility all at the club guest rates. The views from manzanita 3&4 are amazing looking down on the city from up in the mountains! This is a refined and not your normal golf etc. hustle getaway. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes a country club environment with great accomodations.
The condo was great and felt like my own home.
- JakeGB (10/5): Great Find - At first we were not going to make this reservation because of the two-day minimum stay, but after checking some other options we picked up on this place. We were delighted and opted to stay three nights.
We stayed in an Ocotillo Suite with an amazing view of Tucson. This place is in the foothills of the Catalina Mountains and is at the top of a gated golf community, with quick access to great restaurants and shopping centers.
Spotless and quiet. My wife loved the hummingbirds that whizzed about the deck.
- Departure36915 (8/5): Best Views in Tucson! - This is a very lovely complex amidst spectacular Tucson homes. The scenery is exceptional. The access to the Skyline Club is a bonus. The views of the entire valley by day and especially by night are wonderful. Great birding right from the balcony. Suites are clean, attractive and very comfortable. A really great destination!
- TucsonTraveler (10/5): Awesome accomodations - Wonderful, relaxing, quite getaway! We love staying at the Casitas year after year. The country club benefits are a plus, since we love to play golf! Check them out, they are a hidden treasure.
