Guest Reviews
- Melissa (2/5): - I will start by saying I knew this was not the Hilton. The first room we had the beds were probably harder than the floor. I requested a new room and the sweet lady at the desk obliged. First room had a fridge second room didn’t. The beds were a bit better and we were exhausted. Went to take a shower and there was copious amounts of mold on the shower curtain and the was hair in the shower that did not belong to us. The pool was completely broken which was disappointing. Breakfast consisted of a coffee cake, toast, or cereal. Staff was friendly and we felt safe so no complaints there. Would’nt recommend.
- Steve (4/5): - Poor mattress. Camode wouldn’t shut off without having to keep jiggling it
- Shinisha (1/5): Never again! - Nothing They have roaches, it was mold in places like the bathroom and the ac unit. Never again!
- james (7/5): We stayed for convenience of the hotel’s location. - We came to bike the Tunnel Hill trail and the location is ideal. A newly constructed sidewalk takes you to the trailhead from the hotel. Pets are allowed so ask for a room dedicated to being pet free if you have allergies. The pool is still under renovation since we stayed last year and hasn’t reopened yet.
- Karamie (10/5): -
- Kevin (4/5): - Door to room didn't lock unless we slammed it. TV kept cutting out. Mattresses not comfortable. Pool not open. Furniture was old. Outside not presentable.
- Michael (6/5): - Room, didnt have much. The fridge and floor dirty
- Chad (10/5): - A+
- Jay (8/5): - Ok place Breakfast weak Close to Tunnel hill bike trail
- Sandra (8/5): - Was nice we would of loved using the pool but it was down other than that very good and convenient.
- James (8/5): - Overall, my stay was pleasant at the hotel - the staff was coopertive when I misplaced my room key, they simply gave me another key. The property, inside, was clean, and looked like it was well maintained; however the pool was closed due to "maintance", and the beginning of mold was visible on my shower curtain. Other than that, my stay was very good. The night manager even had the coffee and breakfast available for me when I left at 3 a.m. for home.
- Tracy (8/5): -
- Shellie (7/5): Give it a try, I promise, it's worth it! - I have stayed here for the last 3 years every summer, twice a summer. This is a small town, with small-town vibes. I come from that and I love it. The staff have ALWAYS been wonderful and my rooms have always been clean. Does it need updating...sure, are they trying to get it done, ABSOLUTELY YES. A little disappointed with this stay, only in that their pool was out of order. That's a selling point, and that also was clean...always. As long as my kiddo goes to Camp Ondessonk, we will be there twice a summer, every summer. In fact, see you all next weekend! The pool was out of order! Lol!
- Joshua (10/5): - Pool out of order
- Alan (5/5): Passable -
- Farrah (1/5): Go to the next exit - Nothing They were doing construction outside. Someone had parked in the driveway blocking the front door and we’re still there in the morning when I left. The beds were super uncomfortable. It appeared outwardly clean, but I kept finding crumbs in the bed and used cups in the bathtub type thing.
- Shani (6/5): - Sheets felt clean. AC was cold. Nice lady at check-in. But hotel looks and smells terrible! Smells like an ash tray even though no-smoking signs are everywhere. Find somewhere nicer if you can afford it.
- Dan (6/5): - pool was down, they gave us a room with a hot tub, but it was only a jet tub. big difference,
- David B (8/5): - People were great
- Jasmine (2/5): - Seen roaches. Will never stay here again. Toilet broke for hours before someone helped. Left early. Place should be shut down
- Sierra (4/5): - There was an indoor pool that’s why we booked it. But it is a terrible location and if you want to feel what arctic shock is go ahead and jump into the pool. Not to mention barely any chairs and windows and the ac running. Terrible experience as far as the pool
- Keith (10/5): - Quite and easy to find
- Destiny (6/5): Horrid - Didn’t have a fridge hallways were not sweeped or vacuumed was and bathroom was rusty and shower wasn’t clean
- Nyla (7/5): Good -
- Stepheny (6/5): Pleasant - Staff was nice Latch on door was broke but you can tell they are renovating.
- Yurii (5/5): Passable - Positive aspects: Great location and friendly reception staff. Negative aspects: The hallways had a strange, unpleasant odor. In our room, there was a very strong, pungent smell of smoke. The room also didn’t have a refrigerator. Additionally, the bathroom door didn’t have a lock. In the lobby, there was nowhere to sit down during breakfast — no chairs or small bar tables — so we had to eat standing up. The breakfast itself was just cereal and milk, but we still appreciate the effort.
- Vicki (1/5): Dirty! - Convenience off freeway Very dirty, hallways to rooms
- WILLIAM (8/5): - Room was clean and in good condition. Bed was fine. The shower was worn although clean. There was no frig and no desk chair. The continental breakfast is limited although it worked for me. It is close to the highway and there is some road noise although it didn't impact my sleeping. Okay value for the money.
- Matthew (2/5): - I understand the property is mid-renovation however our room looked like it hadn’t seen a vacuum in months. The dual-pane window was broken so all we saw was dingy window. Room smelled musty. A/C unit needs a recharge. Had to turn the temp down to 60 to get it to kick on. Toilet seat bolts were loose or missing so it was like a roller coaster using the toilet. The sign offering a discount on future visits for a positive review was a bit troubling! You should want honest reviews. As a traveler, I rely on those reviews and would be disappointed to arrive at a property this crappy with someone rating it top stars.
- Danielle (1/5): Was short and unpleasant wont stay again. - Nothing! It was the worst stay. Literally ended stay early. The staff
- Lakeesha (10/5): It was EXCELLENT, beautiful and nice staff. I would recommend this place to anybody. - I love the property,Price is good, excellent location, my favorite place to stay when I visit or travel there, above all,its a restaurants close by..I will ABSOLUTELY visit there again.
- John (6/5): - Staff was courteous & friendly. Continental breakfast was good.
Property was under some renovation and could use some interim maintenance such as replacing burned out light bulbs w/ consistent color. Preferably not harsh daylight color and appropriate wattage, light bright enough to work at a desk .
A little dusting in the usual overlooked places would be a plus. Overall not bad. Better than many 2 star places.
- Maurer (8/5): Good little spot. - Comfortable big bed! No table by the chair.
- Johnathan (5/5): Passable -
- Autumn (8/5): - The staff was very friendly and accomodating in a less than perfect situation! Very appreciated!
- Caroljean (6/5): - It was okay. Took a good hour of waiting to get internet. (After calling front desk)
- Renee (6/5): Ok for a 1 night stay - Thestaff was very nice. This hotel is in the middle of renovations so a little messy. Have the breakfast at the McDonald's next door.
- Patricia (10/5): - The people at the front desk were really nice and professional and if there was anything I needed they was there and they did very well. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. They’re a reasonable price nice and clean.
- Vivian (10/5): - Older but clean. Allowed us to check in early.
- Whitney (10/5): - It was a nice stay
- Heidi (8/5): - Convenient location. Not super clean. Grates on the heater/AC were really dirty. There was a spot of what looked like old blood on the sheets.
- Connie (10/5): Excellent - The staff went above and beyond to help me out, even came and picked me up! Thank you so much for being the best place I have ever stayed! Nothing.
- Martha (8/5): Great! - They are friendly and they helped beyond expectations
- Jeremy (10/5): - Place was clean almost everything was available except for no ice machine no way for cold drinks and the construction zone out front of the building other than that they're all right
- Verified traveler (6/5): Stayed here many times now - Not sure if I got one of the last rooms or not but I had no refrigerator & microwave, no coffee maker, and no blow dryer. Pretty sure when I have stayed before I had those things in my room. The carpet was ripped but it did not affect my stay. The room was comfortable and generally clean. It's a decent place to lay your head if that's all you are doing.
- Brandy (2/5): Just don't. - Filthy. Would never stay there again. Moved three times. Hair in the tubs, and just filthy bathrooms. The fridge in the first room had a sign that said "I work, I'm just ugly." Or something along those lines. The fridge in my final room had mold growing in the freezer section on the fridge. Had to ask for a blow dryer. Was given on that attaches to a wall, but not mounted. So it was ridiculous to try and use. Random holes in walls, from supposed renovations. The exterior locked door on side of building is broken. Stains on bedding. Continental breakfast was bread for toast, oatmeal and oatmeal cream pies. The employee was super helpful and truly did try to make it better.
- Diana L (6/5): - The place was affordable and convenient and clean. Very minimalistic. Breakfast was not great. The staff was friendly and helpful. However, we had NO hot water in the shower. They did give me a small refund for our "troubles".
- Tracie (4/5): - An unkept hotel
- Joest (10/5): Exceptional -
- CHARLES (10/5): - This is a nice little place right off of the interstate and close to some fast food joints. It’s nothing special, but it is clean and doesn’t suck. Much better than Motel 6 or Super 8, but probably in the same category. Nice helpful and friendly staff. Parking was easy to find, but spots across from the building had some puddles and mud.
Would stay here again! Recommended for anyone looking for a quiet stay that doesn’t cost too much.
- Anne (6/5): - Staff were friendly and helpful. Room furnishings looked like they were leftover from the 70s. Bathroom needed more than the quick clean it likely usually gets. Breakfast was bare minimum, not worth bothering with.
- Doug (7/5): Good -
- Kristine (7/5): Nice friendly and clean place to stay. - It was close to interstate, places to eat, very clean, staff was great. bathroom ceiling had holes and water damage, But they did have notice they were in the middle of remodeling and updating the facility.
- Shatara (10/5): - Staff was very helpful and nice. Room was clean and comfortable!! I appreciate how close and convenient it was to where ibwas going. Thanks guys. I appreciate it!!
- Henriette (1/5): My worst hotel experience ever. - The front desk attendant was helpful and kind. She was trying to find a solution for my problem as much as she could. She moved me to another room, where there was no visible mold on the surface of the furniture and carpet but the moldy smell and (lack of) cleanliness of that room, too, was terrible. I did not have high expectations but this was my worst hotel experience ever. Mold everywhere. Even the water from the faucet smelled like mold. . Those rooms should have been taken out of order until issues are fixed. I could not sleep the entire night. Learned my lesson. Never again.
- Phil (4/5): - Just plain dirty, inside and out. Bathroom was filthy. Staff were pleasant. Will not stay again.
- Rico (1/5): Bad -
- Elizabeth (6/5): Unfortunately when you’re the only game in town there’s no incentive to try harder - Location Dirty
- Tree (6/5): - Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel was in complete disarray. Had signs posted saying they were remodeling. Microwave was disgusting. There was hair and a used bar of soap in the shower. Cigarette burn marks along the top of the side of the tub. Dresser had a broken drawer that was just hanging there. The carpet was clean and looked new. Bed appeared to be clean. It was soft and lumpy and killed my back. TV had a decent amount of channels to choose from. It’s the only hotel in Vienna and I hope they really do fix it up. It’s a great location right next to Interstate 24. In the end, all I can say is “you get what you pay for.”
- Barbara (4/5): Won’t stay again. - It was ok. Chair was filthy, rug was too. Needed more soap and towels.
- Mls_ontheroad (5/5): Passable - It met my need for a place to stay for a night . Close to the Interstate and the bike trail I'd come to ride. The place is "being remodeled". I've run into that a lot, as an excuse for subpar lodgings; this place was REALLY a construction site. I was glad to be on my way.
- chris (8/5): - This hotel is in the middle of major renovation, and in summer 2024 the entire area around this interstate exit is under development, so there is a lot of that traffic and noise. The front walkway was getting all new concrete done. The room was totally cleaned and bedding as expected, though the bathtub needed some minor repairs. I think Southern Illinois is wonderful, I left this particular reservation early because I didn't feel safe with some of the activity I encountered nearby.
- brigette (4/5): - The room smelled like an old barroom. Not enough water pressure to take a morning shower.
- Sabera (7/5): Okay for the price, staff are very friendly. - Affordable. Quite good for the price. Location in scenic beauty. Not clean enough. Cheap appearance.
- Shellie (8/5): Very good - Clean, cold, and exactly as they say what they are. Perfect! Not much, great for the money!
- Glenda (4/5): Not too good - It was hard to find and to get to. No handicapped parking. The shower did not work, cooling system made noises, bed frames were sheet metal so made a terrible noise when you moved. Construction on the road and at the motel. Should have been disclosed.
- Robertson (1/5): Roach motel, should burn to the ground. - The staff were very nice and gave a refund. It was disgusting. Sticky floors. The bed was just a cardboard box with a blanket on it. Roach motel.
- Loesekam (3/5): I will not return - I was not interested in the breakfast considering the quality of motel Simply put..everything,!!
The staff was fine..but everything else needs a lot a lot of help
- Timothy (6/5): - The place needs repairs
- Elaine (9/5): Superb -
- Stephanie (8/5): Even though the room kind of smelled, it was in a great location, the pool was kind of cold because the heater wasn’t wo - Good location around food and gas. Just right off the highway. The room smelled like mold but remodeling is currently underway. Hopefully corrected soon.
- Patrick (9/5): Superb -
- Carol (9/5): Superb -
- Deborah (4/5): - This hotel seems to be in process of upgrading but it is a 2 star at best. There was a hole in the bathroom ceiling. The room was very dark. It did not feel clean. The front entrance was under construction and not welcoming. There was no sign on the road to indicate the entrance to the hotel.
- Twyla (2/5): - My room had bed bugs and when I went to complain nothing was done about it
- bhadraiah (8/5): Nice budget lodging - Very convenient and comfortable budget lodging. Complimentary breakfast, adequate too. Friendly staff. Remodeling work in progress.
- Crista (10/5): - Just one night so fishing tournament is easier to get to at lake egypt in Am
- Markie (8/5): - Older property but clean and a good place to spend the night.
- Ruth (8/5): - Hard beds and the pool was not open. Everything else was good.
- Michael (2/5): Very poor -
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Terrible place. Dirty. Without advertised amenities. What a dump
- Nikolas (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing staff! Was a little rough, but good enough!
- Randall (7/5): Good - Staff was supreme! Very helpful and courteous. Our room was above the entrance lobby; therefore, it was pretty noisy all night (granted, the eve before the eclipse). The room doors don't seem to fit properly because they rattle in the door jam when closed, kinda loud, up and down the 2nd floor hall.
- Ana (4/5): Under construction for the better I hope - Hotel is under construction so some conditions are to be expected but the whole hotel had a mildew-y toilet smell. There was no main light in the room. Shower curtain was moldy. No one cleaned or took out the garbage daily. I was supposed to get a 2 bed room. Got a single bed. I understood it was the eclipse weekend and everything was booked but they should have told me about it.
- Tim (1/5): Disappointed - Location Pool was advertised, no pool. 1st picture on booking.com was the pool no pool
- Laura (2/5): - it was nothing like the website indicated. the place looked abandoned, kinda scary. they said they had a pool which we were looking forward to but it was out of order. they stated they had complimentary breakfast and all they had was a granola bar with a cup of OJ. the outside was very dirty. the inside was dirty, hallways etc. the rooms were do able. we had no other choice. we had driven 6 hours to stay there and at the time we arrived there was nothing else available.
- Ryan (7/5): Good -
- Michael (8/5): Very good - It's was good The beds where to bounce
- Nathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephanie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tara (10/5): - Great
- Andrya (10/5): Good value for a very low price - We picked this hotel for the price as somewhere to stay in the middle of our 14 hour drive. It was a great value for the price. As other reviews say, it is still under renovation. The room was fine, clean and up to date enough. Toilet didn't flush very well but it was fine for a one night stay. The lady at the front desk was very polite. We had a small open trailer with our dirt bikes on it, they were locked with a chain to the trailer, but we didn't have any issue with the trailer there - lots of room in the parking lot for it. Overall a good stay and great value for the low price.
- Peter (6/5): - Under construction
- Charlotte (7/5): Decent price. Hard beds. - The price was affordable. We only needed the room for sleeping while visiting family. The beds were sooo hard. The one thing you look forward to with sleeping in a hotel is their awesome beds, bedding and pillows. The beds at hotel Vienna were hard and the bedding was thin.
- Jessica (10/5): - There is no pool no microwaves or refrigerator in the rooms but over all i like staying here
- Jenna (8/5): Very good -
- Kathleen (10/5): - Property clean, staff friendly and helpful.
- SHANDA (2/5): - Unique was nothing, the facility hand as my grandson Miah said had a woach (Roach). Tv did not work! There was a dead fly in the refrigerator. The kids wanted to sleep in the car. The pool was not working like I was told it was. We slept in our clothes on top of the bed for a fear of being eaten alive by bed bugs. And there was a person on drugs that kept coming in our face asking for directions to his room. He asked the worker what color was his door, she stated all of the doors are white.
- Robin (8/5): - Average hotel for the price. I was looking forward to swimmimg, but the pool was closed for renovation. Free breakfast could have been better it only consisted of cereal, toast, and coffee. Staff was very nice and professional. I would stay again.
- Thomas (10/5): - Clean rooms quiet for peaceful rest stall very accommodating
