Guest Reviews
- Alexandra (8/5): - We had a wonderful experience at the dolphin lodge. All the staff members were extremely friendly and helpful, especially our guide Julio. He was very knowledgeable and he told us a lot about the animals, birds, plants, life in the region, etc. We saw river dolphins, caymans, sloths, a lot of birds, and we caught piranhas. They offered good food and the drinks available were very reasonably priced. The rooms are basic but clean. Considering the price, I’d say it’s good value for money.
- Marta (10/5): We stayed 3 nights and 4 days, and it was one of the best experiences of our trip to Brazil. The activities were amazing - El personal, la comida, el lugar.
I piatti sporchi restano accatastati sui tavoli fino a fine servizio.
Eduardo was super behulpzaam daarbij.

- Roberta (10/5): Uma bela surpresa!
- AG (10/5): - This place is magical. Right in the jungle. Staff is amazing. Our guide Romario and Daniel who helped him were fantastic. Romario knows the jungle inside out and can spot exotic animals like armadillos, caymans, and all types of monkeys and birds. He and all the other staff are welcoming and kind. The food is wonderful. There are excursions every day which are diverse and give you a great feel for the jungle with a lot of wildlife viewing. I highly recommend this place.
Not that depending on the number of nights you book, the excursion package changes, so you can check with them what yours contains. I liked everything!
- Leti (9/5): - Personal super amable, comida variada y rica.
- Anne (9/5): Beautiful location, wonderful tours - I really enjoyed the location and how they set up each day. Lovely place! I was a little sad the pool wasn't open, but glad we got to swim in another location one morning
- Mia (9/5): - I loved the location right on the river, I liked my room.
The food was lovely. The guides for our excursions were fantastic. What could be improved would be a mosquito net in my room,
The kitchen staff were not very friendly, I know they didn't speak English, but they can still try as I try with my poor spanish....to try to communicate.
- Raissa (10/5): Imersiva.
- Kelly (10/5): - The staff, including the guides were incredible! Very knowledgeable and kind If you do not upgrade to the bungalows, the older rooms are a bit small and run down. You also only have cold water- i knew this and didn't mind it but we did see the newer larger bungalows and I think they're worth the upgrade
- Ben (10/5): The experience of a lifetime in the Amazon rainforest - We had the best time for four days at Dolphin Lodge. Chico and Penguin were fantastic guides - so knowledgeable, kind and fun. The food was amazing- so tasty and varied, great for vegetarians. It really was the experience of a lifetime to stay in the Amazon rainforest. Nada
- Liang (10/5): Perfect, fulfilling stay with Dolphin Lodge! Couldn't recommend enough! - The entire experience at Dolphin Lodge was exceptional. The lodge is mindful about eco impact in its design and activities, and the staff are all so kind and attentive; all locals - so happy to see my tourism will benefit local communities. The activities were fun and accessible to people of most skill/engagement/fitness levels, plenty of down time to recharge, the food was delicious and representative of local diet, rooms were simple and clean, and surroundings were beautiful. Overall such a unique, lovely, wholesome experience made possible by this amazing lodge and its staff! Zero complaints. There are mosquitos and for whatever reason I got bit more than others even with repellant on, but of course you're going into a rainforest so that's a given.

- Phoebe (8/5): - Amazing location and beautiful place to access the Amazon in comfort. Food selection was great and they catered for vegetarians well. Knowledgeable staff and guides helped to make excursions fun and interesting. The double bed in our room slightly dipped into the middle which meant we kept falling into each other so didn't sleep that well. A few holes in the mosquito net.
- Karsten (10/5): - Personal absolut freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ausflüge abwechslungsreich und spannend
- Natalina (10/5): 10/10 highly recommend - Amazing and beautiful ! Wonderful food and great tour julio and amazing transfer staff
- Marta (10/5): Excellent experience in the Amazon forest - We could not ask for a better place to stay in the Amazon forest. The place is very comfortable, we felt very looked after and safe. We were very lucky to have Helder as our guide, his English is amazing, great sense of humour, and he knows everything about the local environment and ecology. The boat guide was great st spotting animals and has always been very kind to slow down when we were taking pictures. We were positively surprised by the choice of food, there were always several options to choose from, including local fish and fruit. Rooms were very clean, had nets in the windows and A/C. Transfer from Manaus was well coordinated by Eduardo. We are very grateful for being able to spend 3 nights in Dolphin Lodge. Nothing!
- Pinkaholic88 (9/5): Rustic and authentic lodge with good itineraries to experience the rainforest leisurely - We loved the rustic lodges and the authentic feel of the resort. Lovely settings and great itinerary schedule with a well balanced approach to seeing the Amazon as well as down time. There was always something on the food choices to suit our party. The aircon in the room was lovely. An information pack on arrival would have been helpful just to reassure us in English for how everything works. How to contact someone on case of emergency during the night etc. you must also remember this is the rainforest and There is no hot water and wildlife is around you all the time. There is no lounge area to sit and relax on a comfy chair with a drink.
- Gabriela Liebhart (10/5): Special magical place! - Very special place, friendly staff, beautiful nature activities
- Veronika (9/5): This lodge is the perfect place if you want to experience Amazonas and the life of the community - We liked the our guide, the information and new things that we learned. The location on the river was amazing, we could even see dolphins from there. We would have liked to do more things, f.ex. a second time in the jungle instead of one Boat trip.
- Mariana (10/5): Maravilhosa! - Tudo! O lugar é maravilhoso e o nosso guia Romario tornou a nossa experiência ainda melhor!
Absolument rien
- Sarah (10/5): The stay could not have been better - exactly as expected or event better. Especially the guides, Janilson and Marlan, - Great in the jungle
- Pascal (9/5): -
- Thorsten (9/5): Tolle Zeit in einzigartiger Lage. - Sehr gepflegt und tolle Ausflüge/Guides inklusive. Einzigartiger Pool.
- Paulo (8/5): -
- Laure-Anne (8/5): Great experience in amazonia - Great organisation and friendly guides
The view from the pool is very nice Rooms are very average and would need a fresh up. Too many frogs / insects can get in.
- kirkxiao (10/5): - Nice and neat hotel, not so far to reach. And surprisingly fast internet. The activity guide Romario is awesome!!!
- Fiona (10/5): Perfect - Very relaxing. The room was safe and so comfortable with an excellent view Nothing
- Bryan (5/5): Passable -
- Karen (8/5): Memories of a lifetime - Wonderful location, great guides in Dodo and Shrimp - they worked really hard and we saw loads of animals and plants and we had a really memorable Amazon experience of a lifetime. Very clean and the food was excellent - some of the best we have had. Staff were all lovely and kind and helpful and great reception from Eduardo! They are also respectful of the wildlife which we really appreciated. Thank you! We booked the last of the chalets - there are gaps between you and nature so be aware there will be little frogs and cockroaches and other friends in the room but the rooms are cleaned twice a day and remember that you are there to be close to nature! Remember to bring shampoo and shower gel - they only give you little bars of soap More caution and slower driving on the muddy road would be safer
- David (10/5): Rustic adventure in the Amazon Jungle! - We stayed at Dolphin Lodge for 5 days and 4 nights and had an incredible time! It was truly an adventure. The AC in the room was a godsend - the Amazon humidity is no joke. The villas are like cabins in the sense that you hear allllll of the nature sounds at night. We had a couple little frogs in our bathroom and we felt that was all part of the adventure of being in nature. Leo was our guide for the week and he made our trip. Every day, you go on different excursions and our boat group started figuring out that our favorite part of the week was going on nature boat tours. Leo let us pick what we wanted to do and we saw SO much wildlife. Traveling to the Amazon in rainy season was definitely worth it - not only for the great wildlife we saw, but also less mosquitos (although they were still a lot around). The food was simple, yet really tasty. All of the staff was incredibly nice - we would definitely stay here again! You are truly immersed in nature and are in the middle of the Amazon rain forest - this is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity. No complaints - we felt the week we were there included all of the activities we wanted to do while in the Amazon.
- Alysia (10/5): We had a wonderful time at Dolphin Lodge. Delicious meals and service and we saw heaps of animals and did interesting ac - Great communication, transport and pick up and drop off. Thorough program of activities and excellent driver. Be ready for the cold showers, but it’s to be expected.
- Ryan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kevin (10/5): Perfect stay for anybody who wants to visit the Amazonas - The staff. Prepared wonderful Brazilian food, knew a LOT about the Amazonas, and were very helpful and kind overall. From the first contact with Eduardo to the tours with Dodo, they were amazing! Can’t think of anything to be honest.
- Dmitry (9/5): Good value for money - This was exactly the eco lodge on the middle of the rainforest that I expected. Food was simple but very tasty. Staff was very friendly and helpful at all times There was no hot water in the shower. I was staying in Chalet and in turns out that only Bungalows have hot water
- Stefaan (9/5): Excellent - Everything ! The lodge was very beautiful, clean and well taken care of. Very good food and super sweet nice staff. Without asking they even baked a wonderful tasty birthday cake. Special thanks to our guide Chico who during 5 days showed us his beautiful world with a lot of love.
- Pam (10/5): Our of this world - The location and experience were superb .
We were looked after from the minute we were met at the airport .
The staff were amazing and food excellent with lots of choices to try local food as well as options for everyone. Nothing at all
Be prepared for a long transfer time of about 2.5 or 3 hours from the pick up so make sure you have water and snacks
- Juliana (10/5): Amazing stay! - The stay was amazing! The staff is very friendly, the lodge cozy and charming and the food is amazing! We stayed for 4 nights and it was perfect for an easy program. The activities were nicely spread throughout the day and you have time to enjoy the nature and read a book at the peaceful terrace or hammock. Highly recommended!
- Demétrio (9/5): Superb -
- Geraldine (10/5): Great trip to the Amazon - Fantastic location The beds were uncomfortable
- Mr (10/5): It was amazing and such a special place - Everyone was so lovely and helpful Nothing, I loved everything about the place
- Wing (9/5): Superb -
- Anna (10/5): Would go back in a heart beat! - Nice pool, great food, very wild! Guides are great, trips are amazing! Mosquito nets in the room could’ve been bigger so it was more comfortable but that’s it!
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional - We had a great stay which was super well organised from the shuttle to pick us up at the hotel to visit in the jungle. The food was great, the staff was kind and knowledgeable. I highly recommend it!
- Milton (9/5): Very good stay at Dolphin Lodge. Not sure how it compares to others in the region, but food was good, personnel were nic -
- Alana (8/5): Very good - Great accomodation, bungalows were very cute & perfect for the jungle. Pool area fantastic. Sunsets were amazing. Best caipirinhas had hold trip (and only 8 Real!). Good food. Relaxing stay, perfect for 2-3 night stay. Any longer becomes a bit much as you are stuck at property & can’t move outside planned excursions. Could have advertised better on website that activities are more limited in dry season. More walking activities would be good as lot of it is sitting on a boat and not moving (and as can’t leave property, can’t really stretch your legs). Food was good but bit more variety would have been nice.
- Viajero (10/5): A comfortable adventure perfectly done. - Perfectly executed transfers. Amazing staff and guides. Beautiful place!
- Richard (6/5): Pleasant - Good value Lodge in the jungle with reasonable Wi-Fi. Very reasonable charges for drinks, when a lot of accommodation like this increases them dramatically. Food perfectly okay. The communication by The Lodge was appalling. It didn't answer emails when I booked it didn't answer to emails when I asked about the pickup and when I was there there was a very little interaction. There was a man who appeared to be a manager but he didn't talk to guests at all I'm just laid all day on the guest hammocks. The guide did his best but we never really had any idea what was happening. A shame such a nice place is spoiled because they have put an utterly totally incompetent manager in charge
- Alex (10/5): The Amazon in your backyard! - The experience at the Dolphin Lodge was exceptional! Our guide, Leonard, was very professional, knowledgeable, and patient with me and my wife. He is also adaptable and will accommodate your needs to the best of his ability. We saw monkeys, caimans, a tarantula, a viper, and many rare species of birds, to name a few. To experience the Amazon in your back yard is truly an experience you will never forget. We prefer to eat our dinner early. Dinner time is 7:00 p.m.
- Shamim (8/5): Excellent stay. Very fun and relaxing - The staff were great! Really enjoyed the activities. Our guide Romeiro and boat driver Daniel were excellent.
- Cameron (9/5): Superb -
- Filipe (10/5): Exceptional - Everything, the guides Chico and Daniel were amazing, super talented people! I've honestly enjoyed everything
- Raissa (9/5): Superb -
- Kristel (9/5): Superb - Beautiful lodge. The family hut was super comfortable, spacious with airco. The pool is great and the tours are amazing. Love their caipirinha’s! The food is fresh. There could be a bit more variety, but perfect meal after a day in the jungle.
- Ibe (9/5): Great experience - We had a great stay! Amazing and friendly staff (picked up by an enthusiastic Eduardo in Manaus and our local guide ‘Chico’ was the best!), good food, the best caipirinhas and basic but yet comfortable rooms. We stayed 4 nights in early October, while we would recommend to only stay 3 nights during the dry season as there are less activities possible due to low water levels. The fact that certain activities aren’t available during dry season could be indicated by the lodge on their website (as this would allow to take a more informed decision on the length of the stay).
- P. (10/5): I loved it - I loved the experience at Dolphin Lodge. The staff were incredibly nice, the tours were fascinating, and our guides (Sebastião and Chico) were very knowledgeable. The facilities were convenient, even though we were in the middle of the jungle. I especially enjoyed the homemade food, with plenty of vegetarian options. I enjoyed most of my stay at the lodge, but in the evenings, there were many bugs and animals along the path to our hut, and we even saw some cockroaches inside. Despite the hut being very clean, with daily housekeeping, it’s the jungle, so bugs are to be expected. Just be prepared in case you encounter some.
- Amy (7/5): Good - - Guides were kind and good at spotting animals!
- Food for our meals was great! Could use a bit of diversity (felt by our group who stayed 4 nights)
- Reasonable prices for drinks (<$2USD per caipirinha)
- Wifi in the main area is very strong! - Tours felt like they could be more organized. We had some boat tours that turned into hikes/swimming but weren't informed in advance, so folks weren't dressed properly. We also had numerous tours with >8 folks per guide which made it tough to hear what was going on
- Big difference between the chalets and bungalows! The bungalows were more enclosed and the folks there saw 0 cockroaches/critters. The chalets our group stayed in were less lucky as the room is not well sealed
- Johannes (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christina (10/5): Loved everything about this place! - Loved everything about this place. Wonderful wildlife encounters with pink dolphins, sloths, caimans, birds and tarantulas. Excellent staff and very comfortable cabins with power and a/c 24/7 and wifi in the common area. Foods was delicious and they make the best caipirinas!
- Jennifer (9/5): Beautiful location and Engaged Staff - Eduardo met me at the airport for the first part of the transfer to lodge, and he was a treasure. He had a wealth of knowledge about the region, and he was actively engaged in conversation the entire drive. He also was my return ride to Manaus and went above and beyond the required service.
All the staff did, really. The guides knew where to find the wildlife and spotted them easily while also ensuring that everyone who was in need of a bit of assistance had it. A large item to climb over, and they were there to make sure everyone was helped as necessary. The women in the kitchen, though not speaking English, were happy to assist as non-Brazilians struggled in broken speech. I felt the staff made the trip. I expected bugs entering the cabins, and I definitely appreciated the provided mosquito nets (though there weren't as many out during the time I was there). However, one night a rat scrambled across a ledge in my cabin, and that surprised me. I just never expected rats in the Amazon!
The staff were also a bit pushy about joining the excursions. Perhaps because I was traveling alone, but sometimes I did hope for just some quiet reading in nature, and I felt pressured to go on excursions.
- Chen (9/5): Superb -
- David (10/5): Incredible experience - Very impressed with the staff and facilities. Our guides Chico and Murillo were incredible and Chico was very knowledgeable about the region and had so many interesting stories. This added an extra layer to the great activities we did over the course of our stay.
There was always a good selection of food for our meals, and although we had to pay for drinks, the prices were very reasonable.
The room was also very comfortable and even had AC which we weren’t expecting. N/a
- Mo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Suzanne (10/5): Exceptional - Everything.
Excellent staff. Food very good.
Amazing experience, especially the camping in the jungle for 2 nights. Jameson and Daniel were brilliant guides.
Pickup and return to hotel in Manaus well organised. Nothing.
- Max (9/5): Best option to stay in the Amazon Area. - Starting with the transfers they did a great job. We were greeted at the airport and via cars and boats got to the lodge. All were seamlessly connected to one another. The location is just amazing, right beside the river, with great sunset views. The rooms are nice, spacious enough, with airco and with a small bathroom. Staff was perfectly helpful and did their best to make you feel right at home in the middle of the Amazon area. The guides were very knowledgeable and facilitating during plenty of fun activites. Food was nice, basic home made meals with plenty variety and choice. Nothing to complain about just three small improvements;
- maybe use a bit more comfortable mini van on your way to the river boat. The current one is very worn down.
- the only thing we missed in the cabin/around the lodge was a nice place to hang out in between the activities.
- it would be great to have bigger (rectangular) mosquito nets at the beds and some nice cozy lighting in the cabins
- Una (10/5): Well organised activities, delicious food in a truly authentic jungle experience - The staff were just wonderful. They worked so hard in serving us and doing their best to meet our every need. Jameson was exceptional organising our hammocks, candlelit dinner and cocktails for our group who chose to sleep under the stars in the jungle. If you want an authentic experience of jungle life- this is the place to go- there will be insects, you won’t have hot water but the food is delicious and wholesome, the place is clean and the staff fantastic.
- Geoff (10/5): Superb 2 nights/3 days adventure. Thoroughly recommend. - Great communication prior to our arrival. The location is fabulous and the lodge guides very knowledgeable and helpful. The refreshing welcome drinks on arrival were very much appreciated after a 3 hour transfer. Delicious freshly cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner with plenty of options. We spotted pink river dolphins, spider monkeys, sloth, piranha, cayman and the visit to the local family was very informative. Nothing
- Cassiano (10/5): Increadible experience in the jungle for the right price - The rooms are comfortable, the staff is really nice and helpful, the food is fresh and carefully prepared and all activities (boat tours, jungle walks, animals spotting etc.) are well organized and offer a complete experience in the Amazon.
- Tara (10/5): Amazing experience - Romario was the best guide I could ever imagine having in the rainforest. Everything here is perfect. A thoughtful and sustainable way to see the Amazon. Good vibes from the start when Eduardo picked me up in Manaus ✌️ I loved all.
- Andrew (10/5): Great way to see the Amazon! - A great lodge located right on the river! We saw countless animals just from the property itself.
- Rachel (9/5): Definately a great lodge for an Amazon adventure - It is beautiful, well organized but also friendly. The activities and rest time were well balanced. Food was good and varied. Lovely area to relax and swim. We stayed in a bungalow over the water and it was really lovely space. I will remind people you are in the jungle. One day I had a scorpion in my trainer. I didn’t check before I put it on and got stung. It hurt… a lot! I mention it becasue the team were great, they were able to identify that it was not venomous, that I just needed time… which after an hour I was fine. Also becasue I missed a morning activity, they made additional time the next day so I could do a jungle hike and not miss out on anything. So I recommend here, but check your shoes! It was all great. Wi-Fi was only available in the main restaurant and public area but this helped to disconnect.
- Jon (10/5): I stayed for 5 nights and 6 days and had a great time as a solo traveler. It exceeded my expectations- the guides, excur - Location is spectacular and very close to all the excursions. The staff are all very nice and the food is great. Highly recommend
- Claire (10/5): Incredible experience - Dolphin lodge is an exceptional experience. The place is so special - amazing food, amazing staff, perfect simple accomodation and the nature experiences were out of this world. Personalised service at every step. Incredible life experience. Our guide Hermanio needs extra special mention for making our trip amazing. He is exceptional.
- Agus (3/5): You get for what you pay- basic and not comfortable lodge - The highlights of our stay were undoubtedly our guides, Thiago and Daniel, and the field trips they led from the lodge. Their expertise and friendliness made these excursions the best part of our experience. The food, while acceptable, was monotonous and lacked variety. The menu consisted of white rice or spaghetti with fish or meat every single day, which became repetitive. However, the desserts and breakfasts were good. The transfer was conducted in an old, extremely dirty minibus without air-conditioning or seat belts. The drivers did not speak English. The cabins are very basic: they are made of wood with numerous gaps that allow bugs to enter. The windows are simply covered with wood and mosquito nets, which have multiple holes. To use the air-conditioning and cool the cabin, you must close the wooden windows, making the cabin dark. There was no hot water in the shower.
The restaurant offers the same lunch and dinner every day, with little variety. The menu consists of white rice or spaghetti with fish or meat every single day. Outside of breakfast, lunch, and dinner, there is nothing to eat, even if you are willing to pay for it. There are no snacks or fruits available. The restaurant does not have air-conditioning, only two fans, which are insufficient, making it extremely hot during the daytime.
Overall, the lodge is poorly maintained and messy, with dirt and debris visible under the cabins and in the pool area. While there are two remodeled cabins overlooking the river that appear nicer, our request for an upgrade was denied even though those cabins were empty. There is nothing luxurious about this lodge. I do not recommend staying here.
- Julia (10/5): Wonderful experience in the Amazon with my family. Wonderful staff from Eddie who picked us up in Manaus, the guides Do - The property was well equipped and clean. The staff were amazing and helpful Nothing
- Njeri (10/5): Exceptional - Book this hotel! Great staff - the guides, boat operators, drivers, bartender/cooks were all amazing. But lets take a minute to discuss the food. Every day, I saw every guest get up for a second plate. Best meals I had while in Brazil (including Rio and Manaus). They also took in guest preferences from vegetarians, to my friend and I - I have a seafood allergy and she had a peanut allergy. Communication prior to and during the trip was perfect and was well coordinated. I knew where to be when and what to wear. Hot tip: bring an extra 1-2 pairs of clothing and shoes just in case it rains while you are on a tour. Its too humid for clothing to dry. You dont want to wear wet socks and sneakers on a 2 hour jungle walk. Prior to traveling spray your clothes and shoes with an insect repellent like sawyer made for clothing. Bring a handheld fan. My only recommendation would be for the staff to label the amazing food they serve. A few Brazilian guests were kind enough to describe the food for us.
- Tess (9/5): Amazing retreat - Shout out to Dodo, our Amazon guide. He was great! This lodge is an amazing experience and you get everything included so it’s good value for money. Cold shower
- Felix (10/5): Incredible amazon stay with exceptional food and superb guides - The food was absolutely exceptional. The location itself, while a bit of a travel, was great for excursions into the amazon. The guides and staff were friendly, professional, and fun! The rooms could have been a bit brighter with a more modern mosquito net. The only reason I say this is that it made us feel a bit stressed more than it made us feel calm about the local bugs.
- Tamires (10/5): Amazing and unforgettable experience! - Me and my husband went for a mini honeymoon and we had an amazing and unforgettable experience! We had Dodó as our guide and Santiago as boat driver and they were the best, so knowledgeable and passionate about the Amazon! We had a lot of fun and learned a lot!
Food was amazing and freshly cooked everyday. We got to eat the piranhas we fished the day before! Accommodation was better than expected, it really made a difference to have the AC in the room. We did have some insects and small frogs visiting us in the room but it was totally expected from being in the middle of the jungle and that didn´t bother us. We felt protected with the nets above the bed and didn´t hear a single mosquito during our sleep. It was very nice arriving from the activities and finding the beds done and net prepared for you with fresh towels everyday.
Bring cash to spend at the bar and to buy art crafts from locals, they accept PIX but it´s hard to get wifi connection for that.
- Kyriacos (9/5): Superb -
