- Nikita (7/5): Great location, great service just not great WiFi - Location was good, the hotel was quiet but close enough to the town that it was easy to walk to/from, bed had a good topper on it so it was comfy, shower was a decent power and air con worked wonders WiFi wasn’t consistent, it kept dropping out. The pillows were so hard they became uncomfortable.

(7/5): Good -
- Kerry (4/5): good for younger people - i am to old to be staying in this kind of property lol it’s more like a hostel
- Guest (9/5): Superb - The staff was very helpful in solving the problem that I had with my room, offering me an upgrade.
The AC works perfectly The basic rooms are in an old building not good at all. Strong small of humidity and dirty water. The rooms on the new buildings are great.

- Gelova (9/5): Fantastic hotel - The room was clean and big. Staff was so kind and helpful, always smiling. It is a minute from the night market, so it's the perfect place.
- Nathan (9/5): Travel - Design No bar inside
- Johnymeloca (2/5): Only new building Set You Free (everything else will ruin your vacation) - Most disgusting and overpriced place in Krabi. I spent 3 weeks traveling around Krabi and saw several hotel selections(including motels on the way) but this one made me feel so sad and disappointed about the people who run this business in the town center. The hotel is tricky, serving ugly rooms in a different building away from eyes, called STANDARD. When you go inside you know it is worth max. 3h spent with the courtesan instead of sleeping the whole night in this place. The bed is hard as hell and the room smelled like a smoking compartment. When I opened the aircon I could smell heavy mold. The cancellation didn't work but they offered me an upgrade of 200 Baht to their SUPERIOR ROOM, which is a completely different building and better standard(still not good in my opinion). All together made me pay 550 THB which you could find a nice room anywhere in the city. What was wrong about the superior place is.. the rooms are still ugly, the bathroom no has any ventilation. No coffee, tea, or even a spoon was supplied, lol no even possible to have any riverside view. The wifi was shamelessly slow - 5 Mbit in 2023, whereas other hotels give 20 to 100 Mbit. What to say.. ripped off.
- annecaroline011 (8/5): Simple and nice, central - Simple and nice, central
Liked · Simple and nice, by central area of Krabi, by the river. Staff is really helpful. Even if there is no breakfast you can get coffee and cappuccinos for free on the machine and get some traditional Thai snacks in the banana leaf.
Disliked · Bathroom was very simple but worked well.
- My1000MilesTV (6/5): Great value, near the city center. - This establishment in central Krabi town offers a great value stay and clean rooms. I stayed in the old building and it did the job well done in keeping me sleeping at night, Note that the bed is hard as sleeping on the floor, but the AC cooled well and the TV worked fine. One complain is that the Wifi was non-existent in my room, which was the furthest away from the hotel reception area. Think about this when booking a room here.
- alberts790 (6/5): Stay in the NEW Building ONLY (the one in the pictures) old building needs remodeled....is clean but old. - We booked a room at a good rate but was placed in the old building. It was very clean but OLD and needed renovating last year. Staff was very friendly and the breakfast was ok (toast, jam, instant coffee, juice, milk, and corn flakes cereal).
- Nina5210046 (2/5): ภาพไม่ตรงปก (poor room and hotel staff) - The room is look like the storage room เหมือนเอาห้องเก็บของมาขาย ไม่ตรงปกมาก สกปรก สตาฟก็ไม่ได้มีความเป็นมิตรเลย คนไทยด้วยกัน ไม่รู้จะเน้นบริการฝรั่งรึเปล่า
There are many hotels in Krabi, don't make a wrong decision like me...
- marylR3477OO (8/5): Good budget hotel! - After reading a number of low ratings for the hotel, but I convinced myself to give it a try for one night stay for my transit trip in Krabi. As I arrived at the reception, the staff was nice and efficiently checked me in and handed my room key in the next building. Actually is just 1 min walk to the next building, to my surprise, my room looks good and clean, with good powerful air-con, tv, fridge, hard bed and hot shower bathroom with basic toiletries, Is not far from the night market, just a 10 mins walk to get you there. There are some local stall in the area and is near the sea pear travel agency. The surrounding is away from the noise and therefore you will get a good sleep throughout your night. Take note that there is no lift to access to the room on the next building, but is only 3 stories high. The price I paid is definitely value for money.
- Sow cheng (6/5): - basic hotel and rate is reasonable. No shuttle service as mentioned.
- Franck (2/5): Go away from this place - Not good room smell Bad room not same picture de live Quick i don't want to stay hère very Bad expérience l'
- apjc_10 (8/5): Not bad for the price. - For the price the hotel isn’t too bad. You stay in a different building to the reception. For a couple of nights this hotel isn’t too bad and when you are paying £16 can you really complain that it’s not perfect? It’s not 5 star and they know that. They offer a lot of tours there too. We didn’t find it too bad. It’s very close to the food market too.
- jo12l (6/5): Budget accommodation, worth the money. - Accommodation is budget and is basic.
Pros:
-Nice location, although on the outskirts of Krabi Town, not far to walk to the night markets and shops and near to the river. We enjoyed being away from the town centre.
-Staff are friendly and accommodating.
-Nice reception area.
-Room was clean and basic necessities provided.
Cons:
- Room was dated and basic.
-Mattress was awful, my partner and I described it as a concrete slab, worst mattress we have ever slept on. Therefore did not sleep well.
- shower lacks pressure, more of a trickle.
- Lukasz (10/5): Lovely stay - Very good place, great value for money. Maybe just too many steps but view makes up for it.
- Lukasz (10/5): Nice place - Great place, good value, excellent staff
- ashlynt2019 (2/5): Warning - DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. Do not leave your passport! These people are crooks. We rented a scooter for a day which had minor scratches prior to renting, after taking good care and even topping it up with a full tank of gas, they refused to give our passport back upon return. After us refusing to pay a large sum of money, they phoned the police. We finally got our passport back after paying half of what they initially insisted. Do not stay here unless you want to be scammed!
- Tystorvold95 (2/5): Scam - Horrible experience. My wife and I rented a scooter after an uncomfortable nights stay. The next day we brought it back with a courtesy fill up and they tried to charge us for minor scratches that were there prior to renting. The employes were rude and refused to handover my passport. We had to get the authorities involved. Moral of the story, do not stay here or rent a scooter, and do not leave your passport with unprofessional businesses.
- Verified traveler (4/5):
- ezbp (10/5): 2 night stay - The room was very basic with a REALLY hard bed (all asian hotels have pretty hard beds though) but was comfortable for 2 nights, with the perfect location. Amazing hot and powerful shower which makes all the difference! Lots of staff working as well, we stayed in the cheaper option of the room and the photos matched up to the room perfectly so we got what we paid for really. Overall nice time exploring Krabi and close to the night markets which are fun!
- 319clementc (2/5): Book the new rooms or don't bother - We made a mistake of booking the old rooms, when we got there we tried to upgrade to the new room by paying more but they were fully booked. Seems like their new room was a lot better.
1) The old room corridors are very dark in the day time.
2) The room is super dated even the TV seems to be from the 90s
3) One of the toilet door could not be closed
4) Fridge was leaking
5) Room was facing the wall of a opposite building, can be claustrophobic
6) Beds are rock hard
7) On the booking website it stated that hair dryer and in room safe was provided, but there was none in the room. They said that they only provided hair dryer for the new room. When I showed them the booking website that stated it was provided one of the staff went back to his home to bring one for us. Kudos to him. However we had 4 rooms and couldn't be sharing 1 hair dryer between all of us.
Well lesson learnt I guess you get what you paid for. We had to check out before even spending the night and went to the hotel right beside seabass hotel, it was just a tad more expensive but the difference was huge.
- yuize (6/5): Just a rest - The hotel was good only for a rest. It was good enought for us to just sleep a night. There were 2 buildings. One was in the back and one was in the front. The one in the front was new. Bed was better than the one in the back.
- FloridaTravellerFun (10/5): Birthday Weekend - For my sister's birthday, I invited her to spend two days and one night at the Riverside Hotel on Las Olas. It was a perfect birthday celebration. The hotel's atmosphere is very pleasant and the amenities just right. We had a ball during Saturday night's Karaoke which is set in the hotel "porch" outside. If you enjoy singing or just want an evening of fun, this is the place on Saturday night. By the way, the food was delicious!
- JoanneC3618 (10/5): Great location and English speaking staff - Riverside Hotel is smack in the centre of Krabi Town, which is easily walkable to the main road in the day and at night. The nearest attraction from the hotel is the Mud Crab Sculptures (very distinctive and a great choice as landmark to identify) and walking paths along the river bank, with small shops and restaurants opposite.
If this is your first time to Krabi, rest assured you can easily get recommendations on where to go and how to get there by the friendly hotel staff who speaks decent English. The hotel is also able to help with tour packages (at a discounted rate) if you wish to explore island hopping, snorkelling and other activities outside of Krabi Town.
The facilities of the hotel are basic though. You can get fresh towels and pre mix coffee sachets every day. If you are not fussed about the facilities however, the hotel rooms itself make up for it. The room is spacious, with a very comfortable bed and shower- with natural minimalist yet aesthetically pleasing designs. You get a traditional key (not a key card) with room number stated. Check in and check out is relatively simple and fast.
The only concern is the security is minimal (there are plenty of security cameras in the lift and corridor), however the reception and staff are located in the building opposite, not in the same main building (which contains only the rooms.)
This is surely an isolated incident (due to this, I have saved it in the last paragraph of the review). My partner and I did not make a police report nor reveal to the hotel- we saw a young man carrying a rifle (in broad daylight) making his way up the stairs to one of the rooms. We saw this while we were waiting for the elevator to go upstairs to our room (it was in the early afternoon). We suspect that he purposely avoided the elevator (which has security cameras). We passed it off as we were not sure what gun laws in Krabi was like, or that it could have been a hunting rifle used for leisure. It still lingered in our minds every time we went to bed while we were in the hotel.
However, other than this isolated case, everything else in the hotel is near perfect. Just exercise caution when traveling (anywhere in the world)!
- susan (6/5): Location is good, facility is basic. - easy to find the hotel as it is by the riverside and walking distance to some of the scenic places.
- BillNabilah (6/5): Misleading advertisement - Pros: Let's start with the location. The hotel is situated in the middle of Krabi town, easy access to a lot of tourists' hotspot. Room is very clean and the bed is comfortable, and they have free wifi in the room.
Cons: We arrived at night and after being greeted by 2 Thai receptionists who spoke very little English, they gave us a key and pointed in the direction of the car park at the back of the building, without even offering any help to show us where our room was.
We basically dragged our luggage while trying to figure out and locate our room. Room is quite dated, not as advertised.
- me_world_traveler (8/5): Clean modern hotel - We stayed 1 night at this hotel, our room is located at nearby building (looks like just newly renovated/built), there is lift. Room is minimalist with mini fridge and balcony (dont expect much with the view). Good bed and good shower. We booked this hotel without breakfast because we were picked up early for our Phiphi Islands excursion.
Hotel location is about 10 mins walk from Crab Statue..about 15-20mins walk to Krabi Night Market.
- shirleym340 (2/5): Not as the photo suggests! - The photo of this hotel on the site is the reception building only!! When you arrive you are given a key by staff and pointed in the direction of the car park behind the hotel. No one shows you so you have to stumble along (I arrived at night and it was in darkness) to try and locate your room. Rooms are in drab, dated blocks behind the bright, shiny and clean reception building. My window looked on to a wall and there was only 1 plug socket in there. Bathroom was adequate, bed was ok - best thing I can say is that the room was clean. Got woken up at 6 on both mornings by children shouting and running up and down the corridors. I wouldn't have rated this so poorly if the price had reflected the state of the place but I think it's very deceptive of them to portray this by the photos of the hotel on the site as it looks so nice, but really isn't!
- lottiel485 (2/5): False advertisement, rude staff - Myself and two friends booked to stay here for 5 nights so we could do lots of day trips to the islands. I made sure when we booked I trip advised and looked at all photos for the room being chosen on booking.com.
We arrived late at the hotel after a very long day or travelling, we were tired, hungry and had been carrying heavy backpacks for a long time. We were greeted by two staff that refused to speak a word of English and just handed us he key to our room whilst vaguely pointing across the way. No help offered, no one to show us to our room. Not what you expect when you're a staying in a so called 'hotel'.
When we got to our room we were more than shocked, after seeing the photos online this was nothing in comparison. The hotel room was very dated and not what we had paid for. As it was more than just a night we went down to explain the situation and ask if we could change rooms. The staff claimed they spoke no English and rang an English speaking lady. The lady told us there was nothing they could do so we had to ring booking.com. The poor girl from booming.com was more than helpful and spent 3 hours or more trying to help us. During this 3 hours we were put on hold while the girl on the phone tried to reach managers as none were available at the hotel. During this time we sat in a filthy lobby with dirty towels all over the floor whilst being ignored by 3 Thai people. It was as if we were invisible.
After 2 hours an English guy appeared and without addressing us, spoke to the lady on the phone and told her it's our fault and he's not changing our room.
He then disappeared again not even giving us a glance to explain the situation directly.
I more than understand these things happen (wrong room) we're booking hotels in Thailand after all. BUT the way we were all treated was less than acceptable and less than professional. I've never been treated this way in a hotel before by 3 different people.
Please do not stay here if you're expecting to stay in the 'new rooms' because apparently there are town buildings, the one they advertise and the one they chuck people in.
Disgusting treatment, I'd advise anyone not to stay here!
- 100abhijitha (8/5): Decent place for stay - Decent place, but little bit away from beaches. Need to take 30min ride to reach Ap Nang Beach. Hotel staff was also so helpful to find tourist attractions and they arranged traveller for commutation. Since it's located in Krabi Town, there is a lot of dining option and I suggest tourist to try street food. It's delicious and so cheap.
Valitettavasti hotelli on todella meluisa. Ilmastointi pitää todella kovaa meteliä, äänieristys parvekkeelle ja käytävään olematon. Aamupala perus surkea paahtoleipä, marmeladi ja kahvi. Samaan hintaan Krabi Townissa parempiakin.
Helt ok rum men som sagt väldigt off
- LAU (8/5): Krabi Excursion - Excellent accommodation with reasonable pricing and local accessibility.
- miss A (6/5): love it - Good, Walking distance to Krabi Night Market. A lot og thing to do here, Easy to find agent ang food.
- Antony (6/5): Don't stay in this hotel - Don't stay in this hotel is very far even there is no hotel ,I felt very lonely in this hotel
- Pete (6/5): Not the room I expected - When making a booking I reviewed the pictures. Booked, went to check in and was given a room in a completely different building. I don't need to mention the room looked different than on images.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Besökte nattmarknaden i krabi town. Hotellet ligger kunde legat lite mer centralt.
- Yisi (2/5): Terrible, old, and small room.... - The standard room is VERY old. The towels and bedding look like they haven't been replaced in 10 years. The TV is very outdated. I felt like I was back in the 90's. I wouldn't book a standard room at this hotel ever again.
- Verified traveler (6/5):
- Amy (4/5): Cheap but no so cheerful, fine for 1night - Very basic, did the trick as was clean enough but twin beds only and the hotel advertised online is the new building you have to pay more And upgrade too. The building we stayed I needed renovating. We paid more for breakfast but it wasn't worth it has was a table with two toasters, jam, tea and coffee and milk and cornflakes and a white loaf to help yourself too.
- Unhappy Guest! (2/5): Avoid this place at all costs! - We felt absolutely taken advantage of & scammed for our 2 nights here. First, as other reviews have pointed out, they like to show off pictures of their beautiful brand new front hotel, and yet cram everyone in the hidden back old stinky "motel". The location is so basic & boring, by the time you pay for taxis running around town you can afford a better hotel. The front desk service was less then helpful, they made me feel so unwelcome & almost like we were a bother. In asking for a taxi to the bus terminal they told us it would cost 250Baht, which is INSANE because no 5km taxi should exceed 100-150 tops. On top of this we had paid $4 extra on our hotel room for breakfast, and once we walked into the lobby we were yelled at for being in the wrong section, I guess they lie or cover up literally everything as they had a full hot buffet but told us to go to the other area that had only cereal & toast, what a joke! On top of that, the rooms are stinky, they use blankets from the 50s sandwiched between two sheets as a "duvet" and only after our first night here my legs were COVERED in bug bites. Spend that extra $10 and find something in a better location that actually wants to make you feel welcome. Believe me I'm saving you a lot of bad feelings of being caught in a cheap scam!
- Jaroslaw (8/5): OK - OK
- yeoh (2/5): Don't book !Scam operated hotel , very bad , bad ! - pls kindly do not book this hotel . It is scam as totally different from photos in website promoted . It is scam hotel , pls do not trust and get cheat. They given rooms at behind bldg which is totally different from website photos of hotel bldg&room promoted and booking . Beware ! Beware ! Beware ! Caution .
Great disappointment with such Krabi Thai which give bad reputation to "land of smile "
- antony (8/5): Hotel comfort is very nice - The only breakfast is not not so good because they are giving only bread butter jam and coffee only
- Verified traveler (6/5): Don't pay for breakfast - This is a nice hotel but to get to anything requires a 10 minute walk which is not so bad. The issues I had was primarily the breakfast. In hindsight, it was not worth paying extra to get breakfast. What you get is two slabs of toast, some instant coffee and a glass of orange juice. thai may like breakfast better because they do offer A boiled rice soup but to me I'm buying the eggs and some protein in breakfast. What disappointed me more was that there was actually a nice breakfast there that I was not allowed to have because it was privately made for a Chinese tourbus. My interaction with the hotel staff was sub par for this.
Inside the room, the Internet was dodgy. I think the issue here is that the walls are pretty concrete everywhere and the Wi-Fi is not permeating the walls very well. I even had issues connecting my two Bluetooth devices for this reason.
- Chris (6/5): Fine for the price - Used as an overnight stop before taking a very early morning flight.
The staff were all pleasant and accommodating. There are no lifts and they helped take 3 heavy pieces of luggage to the top floor, 3 floors up. There are several restaurants within a five minute walk by the river. This is no-frills and basic and low cost. The beds were rock hard, which seems normal in local hotels. The block of bedrooms is a 1 minute walk from the actual reception area. Taxi was arranged by the staff for an early morning getaway. Great air- con, very important!
- Juska (8/5): - Hotelli on merkitty hotels.com sivustolla kartalla väärään paikkaan. Hotelli sijaitsee todellisuudessa noin 1km kauempana Krabin keskustasta.
- Roberto (6/5): Affordable new and clean hotel - the hotel was nice for the price. The hotel is also very new and you can easily tell. It wasn't as far as other people made it sound like. If you don't mind walking for less than 10 minutes to where all the restaurants are then it shouldn't be a big deal. My only complaints is about not enough lighting.
- Michael (8/5): Clean, cheap, near the market - We were put in the older building behind the main building, but it was fine. Rooms were old but clean. Can't complain at this price.
Hotel is very close to the market along the river, which was nice.
- saskia (2/5): Lies - This is definitely a case of misleading advertising- you will not receive the room shown on the Internet! you will be lead around the corner to a worn out building Behind the new one! Very different from what is shown and you will also need to PAY for a safety deposit box! No tv as advertised and tea and coffee making facilities non existent and staff very rude and not helpful. Air con was not technically air con. Spend less elsewhere and have a much better time
- Anthony (2/5): Luxury ....for a back packer on a tight budget - Very basic room.
Not what was advertised.
Hotel has 3 buildings. The modern one in the photo and 2 other older ones in a car park 50 metres behind it
No views of the river that's for sure ...no lifts...no room safe...no soap
The hardest bed I've ever slept.
Not suitable for children or elderly
As I say ...if you are a back packer that wants an overnight treat..this is your place.
For middle of the road people looking for a place to stay in Krabi town
I would suggest somewhere different
- Blake (4/5): Too far from attractions. - THis hotel is off the beaten track in Krabi Town. THe room I was given was not even adjacent to the lobby, instea it was in a separate building out in the back parking lot near a construction area. The tv in te room was old crt style and had lines in the picture. It was a far walk to the night market and walking street. You get what you pay for here, maybe the other rooms at Riverside are ok, but I was not happy for my one night stay. I asked to be moved, but was told I could not at my booking rate. There are many hotels in Krabi town, I would not stay at Riverside again.
- Tony (4/5): Backpackers 5 star - We stayed in the old building behind the modern looking one which is displayed for all to see on the street . It is behind the new plot over looking a car park . The is no river view. Not even from the new building. The room was truly basic. No elevators. But I guess you get what you pay for. Mattress was as hard as wood.in fact I think it was a plank of wood with a sheet on top. Clean as it could be . 68 year old tv. Small fridge. Towel and soap provided. No other amenities. Ideal for back packers on a tight budget.
- Andrea (4/5): far walk from main are of town, clean but loud - Hotel was a farther walk from the city center, so I rented scooter. The hotel rooms were clean and cleaned daily. The beds were very hard, as most thai best are. they did not provide free drinking water and there was only airconditioning in the room, no fan. The walls were very thin, you could hear everything, so it was unpleasant when the next room over was loud past midnight.
