- jtiw (10/5): Execellent at every aspects - Love every part of this hotel, during all my hop on and hop off hotels this past years, this Gumaya hotel has met a good standard in most of aspects, especially the breakfast. im so suprised find hotel that the breakfast food taste delicious in all the stalls (usually will be too salty, too bland or just bleh..) but at gumaya, we are like travelling to each own traditional food restaurant, the authentic gudeg, the very nice lumpia and ikan bandeng, the warm soto ayam semarang and the homemade jamu and juices. all is excellent.

The room was clean and spacious with a nice city view. Staff were friendly, check-in was smooth, and breakfast had a good variety. Definitely a great choice for a five-star stay in Semarang.

The ambience is warm and welcoming, and the staff’s hospitality made my stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast was excellent, especially with the Semarang food set menu that gave a taste of local flavor. The hotel also offers impressive facilities, a well-equipped gym and even a golf simulation! which was such a pleasant surprise. Overall, a perfect choice for both business and leisure in Semarang. - Shenchen8 (8/5): Family Vacation. When our usual hotel is full and have a high price we choose this Hotel with many culinary choices - We stayed here for 2 nights. After that we move to another hotel that we usually stay. My husband suddenly remember that he left his pants there. We come back, they said they found it and has keep it. We are quite disappointed that they didn’t inform us earlier but rather, they chose to keep it and wait for us. How about if we have gone back to our city?? However aside from that, we enjoy the stay with executive lounge. My recommendation for the breakfast food to make it more variety as many of the foods are fried rather than a healthier choice.

- anggoro123 (2/5): I had complain for Hotel Services - I had an unfortunate experience during my long stay here. After returning from work, I was unable to access my room. I visited the reception to have my room key card reset, but it still did not work. From my floor, I contacted the reception again and was asked to reset the card once more. Understandably, I declined and requested that the front office team assist in opening my room. Unfortunately, they were still unable to do so. A technician was then called, who determined that the battery in the room's door lock had run out. Once the room was finally opened, I noticed that it had not been cleaned, and the laundry had not been collected, with various reasons provided for these oversights. Such an issue would not have occurred if the management had provided clear instructions to their team to conduct regular maintenance, which would have prevented the battery from running out. As a long-stay guest, I am deeply disappointed with the service provided by this hotel.

Nothing to be worried for food - there are a lot, A LOT of restaurants near this hotel. The hospitality, really amusing. Really helpful. The facilities consists of gym and swimming pool. IMO, the gym has a variety of machines. They also have golf simulator, however it is only open to golfer (amateur can't enter). The room itself, absolute clean. The hotel can maintain the room carpets (usually other hotels can't) . They have coffee machine in your room. You can refill your drink as like as you can. Definitely will re-book this hotel.

- Nitads (10/5): Perfect hotel in Semarang - This is not my first time to visit Semarang but it’s my first time to stay at Gumaya. I stay two night here. The hotel is clean, the room is comfort, the staffs are friendly. This hotel location us near from many tourist attraction but not in noisy location so you can take a rest peafully here. The breakfast is wonderful. All food taste great and they have abbundance choice of food from traditional local food to international food. They suprised me with birthday cake, while i didn’t remember it was my birthday. I had to mention mbak Sasha to thank her for her hospitality during my stay. I definitely will stay in Gumaya again on my next trip to Semarang

The service is good, the room is spacious and clean. However, the breakfast area was quite crowded, probably because it’s the start of the year and school holidays. Also, the basement parking entrance is a bit tight for MPVs. The staff is very friendly, especially Mbak Sasha, who was very welcoming. Would definitely stay here again!

- Verified traveler (2/5): Bad experience in the hotel - I made a reservation for non smoking room through Hotels.com however when I checked it, the clerk said it cannot be guaranteed by Hotels.com. And she said that to use non smoking room, I had to upgrade to club room. So I had to upgrade it on site with paying 150usd. But non smoking club room also stinks with smoking smell. What's worse is hotel is not releasing my deposit even though I paid all in my debit card. I tried to contact the official number but the operator told me to wait and never connected. Cannot believe this hotel is five stars.

Bathrobe not available in room and also, it was a test to adjust the shower temperature to warm as any slight movement to the handle turned it too hot or too cold. Other than that, this is a great hotel. Everything is 5-10 minutes away.

- Jonny (10/5): Feels like I am back home - The excellent service starts from the moment I called their Reservation Department to book their complimentary Airport Shuttle service. Their staffs speak excellent english and that make communication very easy. The airport shuttle service was confirmed in less than 5 minutes. Their room is very big and spacious and their rooftop bar/restaurant has a wonderful and unblocked 360 degree view of the entire Semarang city. The food quality of their in-room dining was fantastic. The in-room dining personnel who delivered the food to my room, even took extra effort to explain to me how to enjoy the meal I ordered. Thumbs up! Even though this is my 2nd visit to Semarang, but this is the first time I had time to properly explore this city. The personnel at the front counter were very helpful to recommend me some tourist attractions and a few places to buy local delicacies like Bandeng Presto. The complimentary wireless internet service is excellent and very fast.

- MAGIC FLUTE (6/5): grey color towel - I heard that this hotel is 5 stars. but this hotel served me grey color towels. They looked dirtier than rag at my home. Really it was grey color. unbelievable. and when I checked in, the hotel charged me 300,000 rupia in advance as deposit, but until now ( 3weeks passed) the hotel does not pay me back 300,00 rupia of my deposit. PLEASE RETURN MY DEPOSIT IMMEDIATELY....PLEASE....
