Guest Reviews
- Marie Meier (8/5): Ok hotel.
- igor (10/5): - Shasha - the adorable cat was one of the main attractions
- Martin (10/5): - Liebevolle Gärten. Es war ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt.
- Camille (10/5): - Perfect
- Peter (10/5): - Lovely country lodge with private rooms. We liked the kitchen gardens at each chalet. Pleasant (if rather cold!) swimming pool. Enjoyable dinners and the sundowner balcony was sublime. Overall memory is of every single member of staff going the extra mile to be friendly and helpful.
- Kathrin (10/5): - Really nice lodge. Staff was extremely friendly. Food was delicous!
- Odalys (10/5): - Todo perfecto.
- Klaus (10/5): - Grandioses Buffet zum Abendessen. Sehr freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal.
- Dennis (10/5): - Friendly staff and comfortable accommodation
- Rosemary (8/5): - Dont miss sunset view from the platform.
- José (4/5): The worst hotel of our trip to Namibia - I've never been in a hotel with so many flies! It was difficult to be in the common areas with flies buzzing everywhere. The common areas of the hotel were not well maintained and clean. Tree leaves and bird poop - it was bird migration season - everywhere. There was not the slightest effort to sweep and clean the floor, even if it was only in the morning!! The pool was also poorly maintained and full of leaves and dead flies.
- Tanja (10/5): - Sehr schöne Hütten mit jeweils eigenem Gemüsegarten. Sehr freundliches Personal. Leckeres Essen.
- Katrin (10/5): Schöne Unterkunft - Schön angelegte Lodge mit geräumigen Bungalows mit eigenem Garten, sehr schöner großer Pool, sehr gutes Essen, sehr nettes Personal, Sundowner auf eigener Aussichtsplattform inkl. Bar möglich
- LAUREEN (8/5): - Very friendly staff. Food was okay.
Ansonsten sehr empfehlenswert!
- Joerg (10/5): Tolle und ruhige Unterkunft top- Service - Tolle Unterkunft mit kleinen Einzelhäuschen. Hübsch eingerichtet. Toller Pool. Sehr gute Verpflegung. Sehr nettes Personal.
- julie (8/5): Lovely setting - A lovely setting, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, the only criticism I might have is that they didn’t ask about my luggage and I was left to carry it to my room by myself. The pool is lovely as are the gardens.. each little chalet has its own garden which they use to grow the vegetables for the restaurant. I think that maybe dinner should be included as there wasn’t any other option near by.
- sonja (8/5): Good place - Zeer mooi zwembad.Vriendelijk personeel bij incheck,avond eten&breakfeast.Thanks girls!
- William (10/5): Grest place - Great service, beautiful grounds, good food, helpful staff.
- Inga (10/5): Great stay - Beautiful lodge with good food.
- Luc (8/5): Confort et bon service - Très beau lieu et excellent service
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very pleasure lodge with a big terrace to see the sunset. Good food om dinner and a very good breakfast. Attention on the direction you find on expedia it's wrong. The lodge is 25km far from khorixas on main street to otavi
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Leuke huisjes, prima lodge

- Anton (10/5): - wow place
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nette en schone kamers. Prachtig uitzicht over de uitgestrekte omgeving. Schitterende zonsondergang.
Camera e bagno pulito. Bisogna chiedere l'asciugacapelli in reception.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The own veggie garden and the sunset walk was really great!
- Khadra (10/5): A must go if in Damara area! - The staff at Damara lodge were very professional and friendly. They ensured that every guest was well taken care of. A real plus for the food as they grow their own and kudos to Juju, the chef, for his creativity and talent.
- Rudzani (8/5): I recommend Damara Mopane Lodge - The place is awesome, we loved it.
- Judith (8/5): Good, but quite expensive - On the whole our stay at Damara Mopane Lodge was good. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived at the gate. The setting was beautiful and there was a great view point. The room was clean and comfortable. The food was tasty, but it was a strange mix of service and buffet for dinner. We were disappointed that we didn't have any hot water during our stay for showers, to the point that we couldn't shower in the morning. It is also worth noting that the address given on Hotels.com does not take you to the Lodge, but in fact into the township of Khorixas, approximately 20km away from the Lodge itself. We would recommend looking on the internet for clearer directions ahead of your visit if you're planning to stay there. Overall, we had a good experience, but in terms of value for money it was a little expensive.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Fantastic unusual themed lodge - What a shock!
In the middle of the desert there is an oasis of tranquility and peace with superb food.
We wish we had booked for a longer stay.
The chef is excellent and embraced the challenge of cooking for the 2 vegans in our party.
All the staff are very helpful and could not do enough for us.
Thank you to everyonefor making our stay at your lodge so memorable.
I will be telling everyone anout this amazing place.
- Paul (10/5): Comfortable lodge in lovely gardens - Comfortable lodge in lovely gardens. Outdoor dining area was very pretty. Friendly & helpful staff
- Gregor (8/5): Welcome rest in Damaraland - Convenient for a stopover in Damaraland. Pool was a welcome rest after a day on the roads. Lovely surroundings so very enjoyable short stop.
- Marlene (8/5): Nice place to relax for a couple of days - Very nice room with nice finishing and bathroom....great front porch...pool is large with nice seating....free breakfast
- Di (8/5): Useful hotel for Damaraland - We enjoyed the sundowner on the viewing platform. Good was fine & the bungalows had small gardens, nice staff & very well maintained.
- beth (8/5): Wonderful! - Clean, relaxing on front porch watching all the birds - very enjoyable. Wonderful, friendly staff makes it a great place to stay. Beautiful big pool.
- julian (10/5): Excellent for one night stopover - We stayed here for 1 night whilst travelling from Etosha to Swakopmund and found it delightful. Swimming pool is most probably best in a lodge in Namibia and the buffet meal was very good - nice lot of vegetables. Good bar area and a nice place to walk to for a sundowner.
- Richard (10/5): A Desert Oasis - We spent one night at the Damara Mopane Lodge, essentially a rest stop on the long road between destinations, but once we arrived we wished it could be more. The site is literally a beautiful desert oasis. Staff was worm, friendly, and helpful. The meals were excellent, including fresh fruits and vegetables grown in the lodge's many small garden plots set among the guest houses. The grounds were immaculate, teeming with bird life. There is the largest swimming pool we have encountered in our African travels. Altogether a first-class experience.
- bill (6/5): Not a convenient location - The lodge is nice enough, but the location one hour outside Outjo is not convenient if you have to double back to Outjo. We did not have hot water in our room #46. Dinner buffet was limited selections as was breakfast. Would stay elsewhere next time.
- Sandy (4/5): What a Disappointment - The welcome on arrival was wonderful. Unfortunately from there on it was downhill. The rooms are basic but ok. On arrival our room was clean - the next day I think that all that was done was the bed - there was no evidence of any other cleaning what so ever, and as one can imagine in a semi desert area there is a lot of dust around. The meals were expensive and the service lacked. Breakfast was awful - the scrambled eggs were cold with no heating appliance to keep it warm. Dinner was ok if one was not a vegetarian. The kitchen was advised on both of nights that we were that one of us was vegetarian - the first night my main course was 'a bowl of soup'! On the second night, after waiting for an hour and a half I left. The only thing I enjoyed about Damara Mopane Lodge were the vegetable gardens around each chalet - one would think that with the amount of veggies they have there they could put together a really special vegetarian meal!!!
- Philippa (8/5): Comfortable retreat - Very comfortable rooms, each with own verandah and private garden. Loved the way all the gardens are used to grow vegetables, herbs and fruit. Very sensible use of water in the dessert! Pool very nice. Only disappointment was the food. It was plentiful but not refined cooking.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Its beautiful landscaped site with garden vegetables and flowers, very nice.
But dinner is average and the unpleasant staff, fortunately the decor is romantic and quiet place.
