matthewrZ4229LP (10/5): 10 out of 10 - All I can say is AMAZING! The hotel is an older hotel, but it is undergoing some renovations under the watchful eye of the manager, Shelly. I am a wheelchair user, it is a power chair so not so user friendly. The hotel being next to the river is built on stilts, and no elevator. The ramp to get in and out of the hotel not for faint of heart, but it definitely does not deter one enjoying the hotel. Personal moment, we caught the fabulous manager, Shelly at her desk (the office was next door to our room) explained that the roll in shower was not equipped with a hand held shower, fast forward 12 hours, and there was one being installed when we got back to the room the next morning If you want luxury, call the Marriott, but truthfully, one who stays at lot of hotels, the Riverbend Motel is a 10 in my book. Large well-appointed rooms. Super friendly staff, the river literally outside your door, and a 3-5 minute walk to downtown Helen. Stay here, and you not be disappointed.

Christy (8/5): Would stay here again! - The location was perfect, near the middle of town but also right on the water. The lady that checked us in, Aleah, I think was her name, was the most friendly I’ve ever experienced at Riverbend. Our swing outside wasn’t up, but they were putting it up on our last day. I reserved the cabin with jacuzzi and was given the family cabin instead.

I arrive early, she told she would call when the room was ready 3:15pm and I didn’t receive any call or text, went to the front desk and got a room. When I got there blood stain at the mattress pad and one pillow, I asked them to do a full linen and they did very quickly. But very disappointed after a 8 hours trip, a lot of wait for the room and still have to deal with this kind of situation is very stressful.

Mark (10/5): Good times, No problems. - We just parked and walked the entire town of Helen, Georgia. The room was very clean and the bed slept great. The bathroom had been remodeled and clean. The bench swings by the creek was peaceful and relaxing. We couldn't ask for nicer place to stay. There was nothing I can think of to change. Everything was great and so relaxing of a stay.

Richard (8/5): Nice hidden gem off the main drag. - This was pretty much a spot on trip. Only minor issues and all were resolved by the wonderful staff. The handicap ramp was a bit steep for my disabled wife. She managed with the stairs, although difficult. I asked her if she wanted to stay here in the future and she said absolutely. 👍👍

Lara (8/5): Clean room, peaceful spot right by the river - Love that the river is steps from the property. There are swings by the water and grills for grilling. Saw some tubers riding down the river. There’s a gopher or groundhog that comes out every evening in back of the property. Motel is only a block from restaurants and stores. Plenty of hot water for a shower. The bed was too firm. You can hear everything from neighbors in the next room from a bag rustling, tv, microwave door. I’m sure nothing can really be done about that. I just put my storm app on my phone to drown them out. We would stay here again.

Doors stuck and had to be pushed open. So much dust and dead bugs behind things. These units would be amazing with a remodel to the inside. I was charged more money than I was expected per my reservation.

Julie (1/5): We did not stay there because of sanitary concerns. - It was near the river. The room was dirty. The carpet was filthy. Something was spewed all down the side of the nightstand. The bed was made up sloppily and the vanity was crank-sided. Room was not ready when we were told it would be ready. The room was nasty and we were afraid to stay there for sanitary reasons, so we stayed at the Hampton Inn instead, and asked for a refund, but have not received one. This was the first time we had ever booked thru Booking.com.

I had to clean up like dirt or something around the shower's edge in order to get in it. I wish there would have been a room on the first floor but there wasn't so i had to walk up to flights of stairs which was hard on me. The staff was really nice and pleasant and very helpful they tried to get the TV to work but could not. Breakfast was limited a lot of the food was sold out. The bed and pillows were really hard luckily we brought one of our own but it still didn't make it comfortable The variety for breakfast the TV not working and the bed being hard along with the pillows

The room is spacious, newly remodeled, comfortable, and for people who appreciate a firmer mattress you will love the bed. We did ask for the 2nd floor because we did not want anyone above us. We did not realize that meant 3 stories of stairs because parking is on the first floor. Other than that the hotel is perfect.

Right next to the beautiful river; it was fun watching the trout fishermen. Five minute walk to the main part of town. Super friendly and informative staff. The ONLY thing that could have been better is the bath towels. They were the little bitty thin kind. Other than that, the place was a ten out of ten.

Dancer (3/5): Loved Helen, but we will stay elsewhere on our next visit. - Location -no hot water in shower -no cold water in sink upstairs -pressure washed all day -no good choices for breakfast

Makeba (9/5): My stay was comfortable and clean. It was beautiful to walk outside to the parking lot and see the river. - Location , updated rooms, , cleanliness. Staff polite. The insulation , you can hear everything outside of the room. You hear people talking too clearly and doors slamming. The TV channels are not clear nor the TV screen. No Netflix , Prime.
Michael (10/5): Christmas in Helen. - Clean and convenient walk to town. Riverfront swings were fun. Kept having to go to desk for coffee replenish.

Sheryl (8/5): Roadtrip stop on the way home - great location for fun, food, and nature! - It is a cute hotel in a great location! Good size rooms and lovely staff. Love the swings along the creek. Not as clean as I would have thought, but it was still clean. I found a dead lizard in the corner of the shower door. It’s been there awhile. Also some stains on the floor under the sink that aren’t a good look.
