- hideyo (8/5): - 建物、設備、意匠と料金を超えるレベルだと思います。ベッドも良く、ハウスキーピングも毎日でしっかりしていました。勿論クーラーも静かで良く効きます。文句無しと言う所ですが、

- Ericka (10/5): - Recomendada
- Edward (10/5): - Staff at front desk was very friendly and helpful. Directly at the end of the Iron Bridge near a nice grocerey store. Laundrwy service available for small price. Airy/open lobby-great for the price!
- Shaman (10/5): - Great location! Clean and comfortable
- Donareen (7/5): All in all not bad - Clean bed. Fresh towels daily. AC, worked. Near grocery store There was no shower mat. Could use some updating
- Vladimir (10/5): Good Value Hotel with Great River View - The staff was very attentive and friendly!
Have a great view of the city and the surrounding mountains from your own balcony. There is free parking. In 5 min walking distance to Night Bazzare. 7/11 very convenient next door. Nothing
- Billy (8/5): - I like being close to the river
- Runesonne (8/5): Very good - I stayed 3 nights at Mawin Hotel. I had a big room facing the river. Bed, AC, shower, wifi good.
Safe in the room. Cleaning and 2 bottles of water everyday. Laundry service at the hotel, 70 baht pr kilo👍
Early checkin is possible for an extra fee, likewise for late checkout. It's possible to leave your luggage in the reception.
Thai husband and wife runs the hotel, friendly and helpful🙏 Hmm, the hotel can't do anything about another hotel opposite the river, does live music some days until past midnight.
But earplugs helps.
- Judith (9/5): Superb - Convenient location and very good value for the price. Friendly staff and super comfortable beds.
- Klas (6/5): Närhet till gatan där allt händer. - Väldigt billigt, men ändå hyfsat fint, hotell i änden av gatan där allting händer.
Rymliga rum, men stenhårda sängar.
Inget krångel när man bjuder hem en gäst.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good, clean, by the river, near to city center.
- Nikhil (8/5): Very good -
- William (10/5): - On the Ping River just over the iron bridge and a short walk to the Phatr Gate. Family run hotel. Very helpful with good English.
- aung (10/5): - Just great
- Zhenji (9/5): Superb -
- Hilary (8/5): Great host, good service - Access Outside noise loud - especially Saturday night when 2 competing bars across the river played music loud and were accompanied by loud motorbikes.
- Helen (6/5): - A good family-run budget hotel, although they don’t have fully equipped facilities and amenities, the staffs are friendly. There’s a 7-eleven next door, u can get what you need there. Walkable distance to night market and car rentals
- Lynncm (8/5): Good value hotel in great location overlooking river. - Nice little hotel in great location. Reception staff very efficient and friendly. Spoke very good English. Room was clean with good shower with hot water. TV had some decent channels in English. 7/11 very convenient next door and Rimping Supermarket just around the corner. Very hard uncomfortable pillow. I am not a good sleeper so pillow didn't help. Very heavy and solid. Otherwise, bed quite comfortble.
- Leslie (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- María (9/5): Superb - súper comfy
- Gary (10/5): - A clean well maintained hotel with great views of the river from the rooms at the front of the hotel. Excellent value.
- Jawad (10/5): Perfect location and lovely staff made this an even better trip - Amazing location. Amazing staff. Very spacious rooms with a beautiful balcony looking over the river. This is a great place to stay when you’re in Chiang Mai
- Linn (8/5): - Perfect location. Good service. Hard beds but great value for money.
- USTraveler (4/5): - The staff was friendly and helped me get my laundry cleaned. No breakfast and no mattress. You read that correctly. No mattress. Others have indicated that the mattress is really really hard. It's not a mattress, its a support platform for a mattress. The most disappoint thing was that the hotel could not assist me with getting a taxi to the airport. Really. I walked down to the Riverside hotel and the person there helped me get a taxi. Next time I am staying at the Riverside. Wish I would have seen it before I stayed here.
- Harry (8/5): - Preiswert
- Jesse (10/5): - Just passed through great location to the night market
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hôtel bien situé à l'écart de la circulation, endroit tranquille. Insonorisation entre les chambres pourrait être mieux mais acceptable pour le prix.
- Keld (10/5): - Super godt hotel
- Keld (10/5): Meget rent - Et super godt hotel
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very well situated central to many markets and night life. Rooms are basic but the same time adequate for short stay.

- Chloe (10/5): - Made me feel like I was at home, staff was very friendly.
- Trond Vegar (8/5): Mawin hotel - Good value for the money. - Good value for the money. Friendly staff, close to the river. Not to far to walk to old town. They dont serve breakfast, but there is many choices nearby. I had a nice stay and will come back
- Sam (6/5): Nice location but that’s about it - The hotel it’s self was nice but costing around £17 uk a night which is expensive for Thai , given the mattress was like a slab of concrete , no kettle / tea or coffee in the room.
Staff allmost rude , don’t say hello as you pass the desk or didn’t seem very helpfull. Just not
Welcoming staff
- Tikkyneko (10/5): Nice budget hotel - Nice budget hotel, complete facilities in calm area of Chiangmai.situated near Ping river, around with restaurant,Supermarket, local market and night market. The family owner is very friendly and helpful.
- Tony (10/5): - Very clean, quiet. Room nice and spacious. Friendly helpful staff
- Edgar (8/5): Quick getaway - A very pleasant stay with a very nice and convenient location.
- Lucy (6/5): Love the location. - Good location. Situated just facing iron gate and ping river. Walk across the gate and u can reach the night bazaar in 10 minutes. Also, there are cafes serving good breakfast and coffee. Amenities in hotel can be improved though. No coffee and tea and hot water in room though hot water is provided at the lobby.
- EDGAR (8/5): - It was a short stay with this hotel and I feel comfortable. Although the location is not the center of the action it is a walking distance to the night market.
- Peter (8/5): Great location, good price - We could not have picked a better hotel for our 2 night stay. We had free parking in the hotel car park. The staff were friendly and helpful, there are lots of pamphlets in reception with all sorts of activities on offer in the local area and free maps.
We were able to walk to everything in the old town and night markets. The room was great for our requirements.
- Jennifer (8/5): Great location - Fairly comfy bed, nice hot shower and quick walk to markets. Nice view of the river and Iron Bridge, if you get a balcony room. Staff nice, but only one member could communicate with us easily in English. Zero soundproofing- we stayed on a Saturday night and the noise from revellers and crazy drunk people on the river was SO loud. Sunday night, thankfully, perfectly quiet.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good location for Chiangmai city exploration. - I like the location as it is away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, yet close enough for the nightly visit to the night bazaar, a typical daily must do for food and shopping.
The hotekl reception was polite and helpful. Location is fantastic.
- David (10/5): Nice - It is s great place with great service and interesting things to do close by. I am going back
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean hotel for a very good price. - We stayed 5 nights, it was nice and clean and good location. Good value for little money.
- Verified traveler (10/5): really good mom and pop hotel - this hotel was really clean and the people were really nice. it's very close to walking street and a lot of massage places. the staff are very helpful!
- Verified traveler (8/5): solid 3 star.. book with confidence - Pretty decent hotel for the price.. booked.this for the lantern festival in chiang mai. Room was simple, neat , clean, and room service gave free water. It's centrally locared within walking distance of the old city and several other areas. The sckiter rental are a bit more pricey than you can find in town though.. but this place is a solid 3 star.
- Alvin (8/5): Simple and value hotel - Wifi was not very good.
However, stay and room experiences was very good
- virginia (8/5): Great option for the price. - All good. Very new and clean. Great room for the price. The location is great for proximity to the river and rail station. The GF loved how the clean the place was. We were here for the lantern festival, and we could not have chosen better. If you are going to book for the same reason insist on a superior room with a view out the front.
- Jessica (8/5): Really nice and helpful owners! - The hotel is really basic, but really cheap, so good value for money.
The owners are really nice and helpful, always doing the extra miles, I booked everything with them.
I would recommend this hotel and would go back again!
- Ahmet Sedat (2/5): bad attitude - hotel condition and location good ,but owner lady at the reception ,,she has no welcome very bad behaviour .When first time i step in their Hotel at checking time it was 1.00 afternoon ,she call me with high volume of voice ,,put your bag here and come back two o'clock ,even didn't say who are you whats your name or hi and staff,,i got shock.I said i am tired i need to stay in lobby area i have no where to go ,,until even one minute to 2.00 o'clock afternoon ,,i am honestly saying that she didn't gave me my room key.Room was ready i know it.She scare ,if she gave the key she know i will use electricity, take a shower or aircon.,, that much stingy people managing that hotel. No electric cattle in the room,no floor towel on floor it could be danger because bathroom and room has only tile and slippery .It's like a army camp not a hotel..I can except whit out many thinks coffee ,towel, etc. but not the smile face and welcome because it's free people need that a specially on vacations.i don't like their behaviour , i paid what they ask for it ,they have to give something back to customer.
- Gale (8/5): Great location, super clean rooms, good value - Mawin hotel is ideally located by the night bazaar and plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. We were extremely happy with the large room size. It was great for our six night stay. The staff are helpful and friendly with all requests. There's a supermarket next door which was very handy.
- Elise and Emma (10/5): nice hotel close to night bazaar markets - great hotel located just outside the old city. we easily walked into the old city during the day. we booked all our tours through the hotel- the staff were very friendly and tried hard to accomodate our plans (they organised a day trip for the following day at 9pm). We got dinner around the night markets overnight- lots of choose from and great food and atmosphere with lots of people.
- Mouang (8/5): nice simple stay - Hotel is simple, rooms are spacious and pretty modern like. The staff were very friendly. Walking distance to lot of attractions including Night Bazarre and street market. Would recommend this hotel to others.
- mark (8/5): - Perfect location
- Dick (4/5): $20 hotel. - My Mom always said if you can't say something good don't say anything at all.
- orange (8/5): Basic Hotel - Very basic hotel, clean and spacious. Bring your own slippers, tooth brush and face towel. Hot water for drinking available at lobby only.
- William (10/5): Mawin Hotel Chiang Mai. - This was my first time at Mawin and i was impressed for what you got for around 900 Baht per night. there is no breakfast included but that is not a problem as there are many places you can eat within easy walking distance.Staff where nice and the room had a safe which is always good but i had that feeling of security in this place, it felt nice. there is a large front car park, easy to access and has about 12 parking places. there is one thing, people who arrive on motorbikes or scooters are allowed to bring them inside at night either side of the foyer, they where wheeled in not driven, it was not a problem to me and seemed relativly quiet apart from the trafic on the main road outside, again it was okay with me. Overall i do you think you get a lot of room space and security for a small price.i will return here next time.
- Niv (4/5): terrible bed!
far from the old city
tiny room - staff was friendly, that's about it.. the rest was very disappointing ... terrible bed small room.
- Mr. P (10/5): Super super place - The Mawin is a great choice. Super location and great staff. 7-11 next door. Great places to eat all around. Rooms are big, modern and very clean.
- Mr. P (10/5): Ideal for a stay in Chiang Mai - Really lovely place to stay. I had a great view of the River Ping. Great location. Ideal for a stay in Chiang Mai
- Verified traveler (8/5): Solid, clean and conveniently located - The location is super. Right at the river (great for morning runs) and a few steps away from 7/11 and Rimping (International grocery store), eateries and coffee places. The lobby is very basic, upper areas where the rooms are is very clean and adequate. Rooms are clean and some have a wonderful studio-like lay out with large flat screen TV and balcony. Guest are a good mix of Thai, Asian, and Westerners. I have easily paid double this price in Bkk for similar accommodation as I am used to a certain standard. The stay was most comfortable (definitely between 3 and 4 stars).
- Mary (10/5): Good find - Very clean comfortable hotel. Friendly staff, very helpful. 20 minute walk to old city so quieter. Good restaurants and large grocery store (Rimping)close, has all you need. On river so good walking. Good value
- Craig (8/5): Nice hotel just outside of the old city - Had a pleasant stay here for a few days. Staff are friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable.
- Javier (8/5): Very nice well located simple hotel in Chiang Mai - Very good place if looking for a simple place mainly to sleep. Not fancy nor pampering, but clean and comfortable. Very near the night bazaar (3 mins walk)
- Jessica (4/5): you get what you pay for .. simple as that - I stayed at Mawin for the 3 day festival ... for that particular time it was the best location since its literally 10 steps from the ping ping bridge that will take you towards the main roads ... night market ... bars ... etc. So for us was a great location since we were walking distance to everything ... now the hospitality of this hotel forget about it ... dont even expect hand soap .. they said they don't have that ... even when you put the sign for them to clean your room they don't ... do for the 4 nights spent there our room was never cleaned by staff ... we literally had to ask for toilet paper as well since they never gave us an extra roll ... the sink is literally right next to the bed ... the whole room set up is weird or i should say just different from what im used to. Now if you're traveling with friends for the festivals and arent going to be spending time in the hotel then this is actually an excellent location and cheap. The distance to the airport is great we got charged about 200 baht and theres a 711 right next to the hotel.
- bryan (8/5): Clean, cheap and convenient. - Great location just across the small bridge from the main night market. This hotel was extremely clean, convenient and reasonable. It doesn't have a lot of extra ammenities like a breakfast, safes in the rooms, and the hotel staff speaks limited English. But if you're looking for a cheap place to stay that's safe and clean this is perfect.
- robbie (6/5): decent hotel - not expensive, good location, overall- good for a budget sleep
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place to stay! - Great place to stay, quiet and has parking.
- David (6/5): Mawin Hotel - Nice hotel in a good location.
Nice clean rooms.
Horrible daytime desk staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful small hotel, very conveniently located! - Easy to catch a taxi or tuk tuk, but walking distance to everywhere, Ringping supermarket next door, fantastic coffee shops across the street, 7-11 directly next door, massage right next door, wonderful bbq behind hotel…couldn't be better located.
The reception staff were so pleasant and helpful, the room was cleaned every day, free bottled water in room fridge each day. I wish a hotel like this were available in every city.
- Angela (8/5): Pretty good - The Hotel appearance may not impressive but the room size does. We were very pleased when we entered the room and discovered the room was very large and decent clean. Can't complain with the price we paid for, worth for the money. It's just across the bridge to the night bazarre on foot, say w/in 3 mins. Also close by to Chinatown w/ tutu taxi w/in 5 mins or 10 mins on foot. The travel agent and massage place are just a few buildings away. We just walked there to book our culture show dinner and enjoyed our massage as well. For sure we will stay here again.
- Jamie (10/5): Just Right - Mawin isn't fancy, but for ~$20US/night, it is impressive. The room was just right, clean, large and bright. The woman, who I assume was the owner, was kind and spoke English. The other staff spoke less English but was still happy to help with a smile. While not in the Old City, the property offers easy access to the Night Bazaar and sits just across a bridge on the Ping River. The only less-than-perfect detail is the parking it behind the hotel that features a whistle-happy attendee who makes afternoon naps difficult. But the grocery store, ample food options, and 7-11 next door certainly make up for it.
- Felix (10/5): Great clean rooms, fantastic location! - Very good hotel, minutes from the famous night bazaar east of the old city. Highly recommend!
- phillip (10/5): Cheap new clean fresh stay, but not comfortable... - Beds are as hard as concrete, rooms are large new and well furnished, tiled floors throughout no breakfast or any restaurant, but not far from places to eat. 7/11 next door.
Bridge across from hotel to get into town little bit of a walk, a lot of one way streets in Chaing Mai so getting back to the hotel is around about way no way direct...
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel on river's edge - I stayed here two nights. The hotel itself was rather basic (no pool, business center, or restaurant), but clean and well maintained. The front desk staff knew just enough English to check me in and refer me to the tourist information center and travel agencies located right next door--but couldn't answer detailed questions in English themselves. They were nice enough to store my luggage between my arrival time and the time I was able to check in. The wi-fi was okay for e-mail, but not quite strong enough for Skype or streaming. There was a mini-fridge in the room. The TV had enough English channels to keep me informed on the day's news. The location of the hotel was excellent--about a four block walk to the night market and a ten minute walk to the old city. I felt that this hotel provided excellent value for the money.
- Po-Chi (10/5): Great experience staying in Mawin Hoel - I stayed in Mawin Hotel for 8 nights in mid~late February 2015. It was a pleasant experience. The hosts were nice and friendly. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. I will certainly stay here again next time when I come back to Chiang Mai.
- Ashton (6/5): Close to PING RIVER - NIGHT MARKET - The hotel itself is fairly new... however it is Thai Construction. The rooms are setup more like monthly apartment rentals than a hotel. No standard westernized bathrooms or showers. The sink is actually outside of the bathroom.
The hotel is on a busy road... and if you do get a room that faces the road. Noise can be a problem.
The comfort of the beds are not great at all... hard mattresses.
It is a good value for the money compared to other hotels at the same price and location.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Solid - All the basics, clean, good service. Right across the bridge from everything interesting.
- Chava (8/5): Spotlessly clean - The couple who run this place were lovely and so helpful! The hotel was very clean and the room had great wifi and air con. The room in the back was completely quiet. Right across the bridge from the night market.
- kanticha (6/5): deteriorating slowly,,, I almost never complain - have stayed here many times, 1st time the best , construction on neighbouring property starts at 7. Grinders and drilling so expect an early wake up,,,, it's approx 3 metres building to building closest,, so some rooms most undesirable, but nice rooms location ok owners/ staff treat you ok,but feel like loyalty means nothing,,try napatra in Chiang moi quiete and convenient and a bit more,,,,,, enjoy
- Gordon Richard (8/5): Huge basic room with a view of the Ping River. - Huge room as we had the upgraded room that faced the Ping River and the Iron Bridge. Yes there is a moderate amount of traffic but after 5 years of travel to Asia earplugs go in the bag first. Their is no decorations in the room as it is very basic but clean. A short 3 block or less walk across the bridge to the night market and about a kilometre walk to the train station. There is a seven eleven right next door and a supermarket less than a block away. Also an elevator!
- Thomas (8/5): Great place to stay when visiting the night bazaar - My wife and two children chose this hotel because it was close to the night bazaar. It is a short, pleasant walk across the street, across the bridge and then a few more minutes and your at the night bazaar. The hotel appears to be new, and the rooms were clean, although on the small side. The hotel staff seemed to not be the typical pleasant Thai, but rather a little distant. There was noisy construction next door, but that was out of the hotels hands of course. Overall, this was very inexpensive, but more than worth it, and very nice.
- Steve (8/5): New clean basic hotel - Basic hotel no kettle no safe no restaurant for breakfast hard beds,
New hotelthat was very clean and those were very polite and helpfulness
- Verified traveler (10/5): Almost perfect - Brand new hotel ,, 5-10 min walk from night bazaar close to the nicest little coffee shop in town cheep an clean with a pretty good view the rooms are great for the price laundry service is a good price and the night gaurs is very friendly we will be back
