Guest Reviews
- randolphp906 (8/5): Lovely few days! - Regularly stay here, lovely staff and good food.
Thank you especially to Kane and Lansana Toure for your assistance during my stay.
- Soufiane (6/5): - Need some serious improvement
- Alimatu (8/5): - We like everything except the bedsheets and towels were not as white as it should be, they have lots of brown spots. Staff were pleasant and polite. Food was very good!
- Daniel (10/5): - The best hotel in CONKRY for international travelers
- Daniel (8/5): - The management and the staff of this hotel are excellent. They treat you very well. The hotel is immaculately clean. The Wi-Fi works well if there’s only one area they should change as they have no English-speaking TV channels. Other than that, the food is good and safe to eat.
- Abdul (10/5): - Very safe, convenient and has great dining.
Staff is very patient and always ready to help.
- Khudabuksh (8/5): - A
- Judith (8/5): - It’s hard to run a good hotel in Conakry for a lot of reasons outside of the hotels control, but this hotel makes a good effort. The pool, rooms and venue are clean and the food is very nice and well presented. It is a popular place for weddings and parties do I would recommend asking if there are any events planned before you book because those can be very noisy. Unlike most of Conakry currently they have electricity going 24/7 which was a main reasons we booked with them.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing - Our Children and us really like this Hotel , we have been in many Hotels in Guinea but this is the only one where you get peace and quiet, you can be focused, the food is good especially the peperoni pizza , calamari and the potato gratin and chocolate fondant cake, Management does a good job and overall I recommend this place as supposed to others in Guinea.
- ayla (8/5): - Silent and good location, Iwıll be here again next time
- rickyb62 (6/5): Transit Hotel - Average Hotel
but considering the alternative I was quiet happy to stay
Food was, ok
Service was good
Hotels a few years old, and looks it
Rooms were clean large basic
Hot water was fine, TV was tical basic local channels
For transiting its ok
- Boubacar (10/5): - Hot water wasn’t working in my room. Breakfast very basic.
- Ibrahima (10/5): - Overall it was a great experience. The staff were outstanding. The breakfast was fantastic.
The only negative area I have is the bathroom. Only one towel. No towels to dry hands. No wash towels. The shower floor was not very clean.
The outstanding service made the stay pleasant.
- Abdulai (8/5): - Great hotel and clean. The pool is small but well-maintained. The staff seemed a bit distracted when I came in. It took a while to get the help I needed. But great experience overall. I'd come back in a heartbeat.
- Fanta (10/5): - It’s was very nice and all the stuff was respectful very clean .
- rickyb62 (8/5): Comfortable Hotel - We stay at the Riviera when in transit to & from work.
Hotel staff are friendly.
Rooms are huge in the tower block, the rooms in the court yard are smaller, though plenty big enough.
Two restaurants, the food is very good, and prices are reasonable
Staff at the pool side restaurant need to polish up on the hospitability skills, very slow at times at getting service (even when its quiet)
Maria (House Keeping Manager) and her team do a fantastic job keeping the rooms up to standard, and nothing is to much trouble.
Kieta who looks after the Breakfast, does a great job
also
the Front desk reception staff who are always happy to see us return, and even know us by name
Small things make a big difference
As mentioned the standard of the food is excellent, and the kitch staff need to be congratulated on a job well done..........
- Amadou Sadio (10/5): - Good place to stay so far.
- Lucysworldtravels (8/5): Great staff, pretty good hotel - I spent a week in this hotel while on a business trip to Guinea. The rooms are clean but dated, although the bathrooms have been remodeled and are really nice. Rain shower, plenty of hot water, good air conditioning, and the rooms come with a mini fridge. There is also a safe in the room- mine wasn’t working and the hotel sent someone to repair it. All the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. There’s a nice patio and garden area, but the pool is dated and in need of some repairs. Overall it’s worth the price and less expensive than other hotels in Conakry, I’d stay here again.
- Abdallah (2/5): Bad experience - Very bad experience,booked a junior suite got a single room.lousy food,no hot water
- Dalaba (2/5): - Nothing really the place not organized
- Romeo1989 (10/5): Perfect getaway - I stayed there for a night with my girl, thought it was a nice experience outside Kaloum, not too far from the shore and in a serene and quiet environment. The service at the restaurant was excellent, so was the food.
As for the rooms, I enjoyed the fact of having a balcony where I could have my breakfast while gazing at the beautiful pool.
Would recommend it for a getaway and whenever you want to enjoy a good meal - casual setting
- ibrahimdU5059DS (10/5): Nature of stay - My wife and I are overwhelmed by the beauty of this hotel.Everything is on point,COVID 19 measures strictly being followed up by the staff. wifi very strong, crew members available and very professional, rooms are clean and spacious.I would recomend Riviera Royal Hotel to anyone visiting Guinea.
- alihT1290YH (10/5): Beautiful and quiet place - My name is Ali a citizen from Lebanon .I live in conakry i use to go every week end to rivera Tawya friendly environment nice ambience but the past 3month i was away due to corona today i went back what a great chance due to food & service is more fast then before food is amazing especially the birthday combo the place i s well organized clean the bar is really cozy garden area new and nice furniture shisha Area is beautiful with new light Dj and nice refreshing juices & beverage the rooms is really new fully furnished clean and large space all for 500,000GNF
I met the owners and i really congratulated them for this change highly recommend this place for family celebrations and spending quality time
- Mary (10/5): - Nice little oasis in Conakry. The front desk staff is extremely helpful and kind.
- 156cliffb (10/5): Very nice hotel - I was in Conakry for a business trip and this hotel, recommended by a friend, was a very nice experience. The staff was particularly helpful and accommodating. I stayed in the new addition. The room price was large, modern, and excellent. The 7th floor outdoor restaurant had a great vista of the port. The chef there is very good. The hotel was near downtown and handy for the business I needed to conduct. They handled several major events without any problem or disruption of classy service. There are two restaurants, and if you go to the one by the pool, you should not be in a hurry. The wi-fi is good, although it needs just a little more strength by the tables on the far side of the pool. Still, the value is really terrific and I recommend this hotel to all travelers.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good food, kind and friendly staff. They were always willing to make us feel welcome and confortable.
- DIDIERGOLF (6/5): Travel guru - Out of the beaten path in a quiet neighborhood away from the center. This is an average hotel for Africa and probably a 2 star in Europe. Here are the pluses. Good AC, very clean rooms and bathrooms, good wifi, great clean pool, very nice garden lounge and sitting area, spacious restaurant, great service friendly staff quiet place and safe. Food is amazing in the restaurant. The cons is the lack of high quality linens in ep , no soaps no toilet seat and a ton of mosquitoes outside and inside the restaurant wear repellent or long pants. The Riviera Royal is the nicer property of the two but more expensive. Lebanese owners keep both places in good shape and super clean which is a plus. For a quiet stay at reasonable price this is the place.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I left the hotel with insect bites on my feet. I asked to be moved rooms after night one. Not sure if thr bjtes were feom the bedding?
- Dennis (2/5): Had to simply leave.... - The hotel did not have a room upon arrival. An upgrade to a suite was offered but it was in need of housekeeping service. But housekeeping was no longer on duty. The suite offered also smelled of sewer gas and needed cleaning. It appeared to have been occupied by local workers.
- 144lu_sc (4/5): Hhhmmm... So this is Conakry?... - Ok... It's not a good place by european standards.
But... There didn't seem to be a lot more choices around, apart from the usual couple of 5 stars multinationals that always seem to around even in the worst of capitals.
As such, for the mid-of-the-range guest, this is as good as it gets in Conacky.
Even if, just off the top of my head, the tv in the room didn't work at all, breakfast was quite frugal, there was water dripping from the bathroom ceiling and there was no bath curtain...
Also, beware, the website is quite misleading, they have hired a very nice agency to deal with advertising online, I must say!
Although, in fairness, the place did seem to be under new administration, because small renovations were taking place here and there while I was there. So, the website may be somewhat aspirational as to where they aim to be, rather than what the place actually is... Fingers crossed...
- ShadiALBESS (10/5): Highly recommended hotel - Hello ,
This is one of the best hotels in Conakry, its my second time in this country, my first one was few years ago in NOVOTEL hotel but my stay in Riviera Tauyah hotel is away better!!
it has a 5 stars restaurant with variety of food and excellent quality.
The manager and staff in there are absolutely nice, friendly, courteous and always ready to help.
Swimming pool & backyard are very nice specially for event gathering.
wifi is free of charge.
as an added value and a nice gesture from the management (specially the Lebanese General manager) they allowed me to have a late check out.
For sure I will only choose this hotel when next time I will visit Conakry.
Highly recommended.
Regards
- Michaelk02 (6/5): Smart rooms, good food, terrible service! - I have lived for the month of February 2016 in the hotel. The service at the restaurant is probably the slowest I have ever experienced and I have visited 40 countries +. The food is nice and fresh and clean and safe. Tasty and well presented. The rooms are clean but I had a problem with mosquitos. the waiters are very badly trained. They don't smile, they don't look for attention and everything takes at least one hour, even ordering a drink! This is so frustarting. The Lebanese managers are nice but they get preferential service at breakfast and dinner which means more waiting for the clients. It would help if the lazy managers got off their backsides and did some staff training to improve the service.
- kayoded757 (8/5): Good restaurant & service - Food amazing, lovely & warm staff, quiet vicinity & rooms ok. The manager is a lovely fella very accommodating. The staff could learn a bit of more English though. All in all, I had a good experience.
Great free airport pick up
Good wifi and ac
Rooms needs a bit more touch up
No lift
Nice pool but surroundings not so okay
Poor breakfast choice.
- oluwaseunl2015 (8/5): Comfortable & well managed Hotel, Attentive and Helpful Staff - Lovely hotel, and my interaction with the staff was very pleasant. I was there for a weekend at the end of May and I was thoroughly satisfied. Any issues I had with my room were promptly and efficiently dealt with, the food was beyond any doubt excellent, and Wi-Fi was fast. I was impressed with the very helpful staff who worked with me through the language barrier with my limited French!. The hotel management is doing a visible step-by-step renovation of the hotel and this takes care of the one downside I had which was that the hotel looked dated. All in all though, a pleasant experience - no hesitation in recommending it.
- iperspazio (4/5): RIVIERA TAOUYAH HOTEL & RESTAURANT BP 1708 REPUBLIQUE DE GUINEE - Expensive hotel, dingy rooms disservice, brown water, impossible to shower, invasion of mosquitoes.
the only satisfaction is the restaurant where the food is pretty good, Egyptian-run.
- mayab672 (10/5): Nice hotel - During my last stay at Conakry, I was a bit worried about the expected service quality I would receive in a country I visit for the first time. However, I admit that the hotel service and cleanness were higher than I expected and even better than other places I have visited in Africa.
The food was amazing and hotel team were much more organized than the people I had to deal with during my stay.
It was clear that the hotel was taken to the next level in comparison with the country standards
I recommend the hotel for whoever is visiting Guiena for whatever reason
- Sheraton467 (10/5): Beautiful hotel - nice ambience and service, does nothing adverse, hookah nice, quality people coming into the hotel the guests, I did not know To French well the mr. Camara was very helpful for me
I'm approximately one more year in this country.
- neelava (8/5): Comfortable place to stay - It's one of the few safe places to stay in Conakry. We stayed there for a week from 20th June to 27th June and the stay was quite comfortable. The rooms are very well done with all basic amenities like a small fridge, TV and a small kitchen. Bathroom is very well cleaned. We had a broken shower in a bathroom but forgot to tell them. When we came back from work that day, we saw that the shower has already been changed. The restaurant is very good and serve you delicious food and you have an option of having Hukka at a very cheap price. We paid 100 euros per night but I think it was worth it. The place is far from the airport. Only 2 things were a great mess, first they didn't send a cab to the airport which they said they will and they charged for the buffet for the second person saying that I did not inform them that two people were coming. Check your booking once again please. As there are not much options in Conkary, I think it is a good hotel to stay for a business visit.
- damienstack (6/5): Only ok - Manager was nice and pushed a prebooked room forward a night due to a cancelled flight with air Mauritania
Good location for touyah nightlife area
Far from centre but nothing worth seeing there anyway
Great free airport pick up
Good wifi and ac
Room tired
No lift
Nice pool but didn't try
Poor breakfast
Overpriced at 90 euro for a single
Cheaper options nearby
- TanZimSa (8/5): Very good option for Conakry - Conakry must be a challenging place to run a hotel or restaurant: consider, for example, that the "Riviera" Taouyah used to extend right to the beachfront, until some tycoon with connections illegally "purchased" the seashore, a national maritime asset, and cut off the hotel from the sea, leaving only a quiet lawn! The hotel, ably managed by Shady Boueiry, remains, however, a quiet refuge from the tumult of Conakry. The location is excellent if you do not need to be in the downtown area, since the city has one of the worst traffic problems I have every encountered, but if you need to be downtown stay near to where you have to be. Riviera Taouyah is close to the airport. The staff does its best to rectify any inconveniences or problems—such as when I asked for a new pillow, since the old one was very stained and smelled unpleasant. I also had a blocked toilet that overflowed. Some rooms are better than others—e.g. more efficient air-conditioning, and these rooms are given to regulars or to those who book. The rooms are large, with kitchenettes (sink, stove plate, bar fridge), comfortable large beds and bathrooms with good water pressure; the staff keeps it all reasonably clean and the bedding and towels are properly serviced. The staff is pleasant, and Marie at reception in the evenings speaks English and is very efficient. The hotel takes credit cards, and will exchange forex at the correct rate. The on-site restaurant is kept cool and clean, but the food is uninspired and overpriced. Good luck finding good food in Conakry -- best to seek out local recommendations! The Cedre, A Lebanese restaurant downtown, is acceptable—best to stick to fresh fish and don't expect too much. The hotel's cold breakfast, included, is unpredictable -- one morning there was no bread, only pastries and very little else, and throughout my stay of several days there was nobody to cook eggs to order, though hard-boiled were on offer. The hotel has a pool, which is hardly used, probably because it lacks privacy, and seems to be visible from all angles by staff—anyway, it would feel weird swimming in such a conservative Muslim environment. On the whole, though, this is a very good and pleasant refuge in Conakry and I would recommend it if you do not need to be downtown.
