• Shauna (8/5): A comfortable and value for money Inn within walking distance of major local attractions - The location was really good, although quite a few of the local restaurants were not open for dinner, which was a pity. The Turtle Inn was excellent value for money, very clean and had pretty much everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
• Ebihara (10/5): Turtle Inn stay in Nikko is very highly recommended. - Quiet location and welcoming staff made this stay feel like home. Very short walk to Kanman Park and Kanmangafuchi Abyss along the Daiya River was peaceful and mystical. The private bath was excellent and you could hear the peaceful sounds of the river all night long. An excellent breakfast was served in an enjoyable small dining room. Everything was good including the traditional tatami rooms

• Jerry Pasman (10/5): - Het was heel gezellig en huiselijk. Gasvrije ontvangs. Fijne onsen. Prachtige omgeving. Lieve mensen. Ik vond het super Fijne plek. Niets, misschien geluid van de waterval. Maar was snel aangewend.
• Andreas (9/5): Hat uns sehr gut gefallen - Tolle Lage direkt am Fluß in einer schönen und ruhigen Wohngegend und nur wenige Gehminuten von den Schreinen entfernt, Die Gemeinschaftsbäder waren eher private (Heißwasser) - Onsen, sehr schön gemacht. Zusätzlich ein Waschbecken im Zimmer. Personal sehr freundlich und können auch teilweise recht gut englisch. Frühstück haben wir nicht genommen, sah aber gut aus ( allerdings m.E. etwas zu teuer ), Aber es gab Tee und Kaffee kostenlos (auch ohne das Frühstück zu buchen). Die Betten waren für unsere Rücken nicht gut 😒, aber sonst war das Zimmer in Ordnung

• Markus (10/5): A cute, comfy traditional Japanese hotel with a beautiful view of the river. - The private onsen (温泉) available are well- maintained and a relaxing way to begin our close out one's day. The hotel yukatas at ¥4800 (~$30 USD) are a great value for a gift. I would love to stay here again if and when I return to Nikko for vacation. It is somewhat a hassle to get to; at least a bus ride from Tobu-Nikko Station+ 10min walk. There are not many Japanese restaurants (or even of any cuisine at all) open at convenient hours in the surrounding area.

• Claudia (10/5): ¡Gran lugar para conocer y relajarse! - Mi viaje a Nikko fue algo improvisado y Turtle Inn fue la mejor opción que encontré dentro del apuro y superó totalmente cualquier expectativa. La habitación estilo Ryokan es grande, súper cómoda y limpia. Los baños son compartidos y el staff se preocupaba de mantener todo limpio. Junto con esto, contaban con dos baños tipo onsen, uno individual y otro más grande, lo que fue una grata sorpresa. Ideal para relajarse después de largas caminatas por los templos. Al llegar te dan un mapa de la zona, te recomiendan lugares para comer y te muestran como funciona todo en e alojamiento. ¡Sin duda repetiría mi estancia!

• Yelle (9/5): I would go back! - Very cozy, warm atmosphere. Very helpful and welcoming staff. Close to nature and attractions. Authentic Japanese experience.
• Sigrid (7/5): - Entgegen der Beschreibung bezüglich der Lage waren wir mehr als zufrieden. Gastfreundliche Leute, im Aufenthsltsraum steht morgens heisses Wasser für Tee oder Kaffee bereit. Es kann eigenes verzehrt werden. Die Lage ist nicht zu weit weg von der Bushaltestelle, von einem "Lawson" (mini-supermarkt) mit Einkaufsmöglichkeit, von den Schreinen und dem Tempel. Das indische Restaurant ist sehr zu empfehlen. Auch wenn manches in der Unterkunft veraltet wirkt, würden wir sie empfehlen, wenn man nicht anspruchsvoll ist, weil die Lage einfach gut ist. In den Bus und ab in die Natur. Etwas antiquiert wirken die zwei Bäder, aber dennoch erholsam. Wenn sie nicht gerade besetzt sind.

• Sheila (10/5): Great hotel with private onsens - Loved the onsens, that was a real treat. Good location by the river. Very sweet staff. Room spacious and comfortable. Note, the beds are futons so some might find them hard, but we found them comfortable. Nothing. Would definitely book again.

Echange en anglais appréciable pour bien communiquer. Le bain de source chaude était privatif et avec 12 chambres c'était calme.

The staff were very friendly and the place was very quaint. Offered good amenities. Great price. The onsen was not as good as the annex onsen, and the breakfast was a bit expensive for what came with it (toast, fruit, egg).

• Philipp (10/5): - Romantisch direkt am Fluss gelegen, mit dem Bus gut zu erreichen und nahe an den berühmten Schreinen und Tempeln gelegen. Das Team ist ausgesprochen nett und hilfsbereit. Die beiden kleinen Onsen sind liebevoll gestaltet.

• Jean Claude (7/5): emplacement pratique et stratégique! - Emplacement stratégique pour les visites environnantes. L'hôtel est calme, personnel à l'écoute des clients, très serviable. Petits onsens à disposition, pour 1 et 2 personnes. Pas grand chose que nous n'avons pas apprécié! L'hôtel est simple, convivial, pratique (présence d'une machine à laver et d'un sèche linge). Il est excentré par rapport au centre ville. Mais à proximité des arrêts de bus, des points d'intérêt. quelques resto, présence d'un Lawson ouvert 7/7 24/24.

Le personnel est adorable, la dame qui nous a accueilli nous a montré sur une carte l'emplacement des principaux lieux à visiter. Ils nous ont permis de rester garé à l'hôtel pendant notre visite. L'hébergement est très bien situé, tout peut se faire à pied

• Dubois (7/5): Bon emplacement, bonnes prestations, mais frauduleux. - L’emplacement, l’onsen. Il est clairement noté dans Booking, que lorsqu’on prend la chambre 3 futons avec un bébé le troisième futon est inclus dans le prix, et sera pour le bébé. Le monsieur à l’accueil souhaitait nous faire payer le troisième futon, car selon lui ce n’est pas inclus dans le prix. Le monsieur a été de très mauvaise foi et agressif jusqu’au moment où je lui ai montré la note sur Booking. Il est à noter que les chambres sont à l’étage et qu’il n’y a pas d’accès PMR.

• Yuta (10/5): - This hotel is very clean, comfortable and the hosts are extremely welcoming and kind! The private hot spring bath is also an added bonus. It is located very close to all the main sites in Nikko and is within driving distance of Lake Chuzenji. Highly recommend! Nothing.

• Sandra (10/5): A wonderful escapade by the river - The inn was just absolutely lovely! I travelled with two other friends, a couple, with them going into a western style room and me into a Japanese one with tatami (we originally wanted to share a room, but they only accepted up to two people in each). There was an onsen bath for a single person and another where a couple could bathe, so we all happily went into our respective baths and then hung out in the charming living room in our yukata. It was a wonderful stay! Be aware that the check-in is until 10pm, it's not written in the page!
• Laura (10/5): Small Inn with a warm feel - Breakfast is simple and good. Our Japanese style room was comfortable and clean. The staff was really friendly and made us feel at home. They gave us great recommendations for sites to visit and to eat. Excellent location. The shared bathrooms never felt too crowded. Will definitely recommend!

C'était très copieux ! (pain, brioche, œuf dur, confiture, fruits, café, thé et lait). L'eau pour se doucher avant le Onsen n'est pas stable, l'eau est surtout froide... :( c'est dommage

It close to all the shrines and main locations. Very close to bus stops and easy to get around from the hotel. Overall it was an exceptional experience and would highly recommend.

• Martino (9/5): Un luogo piacevole per trascorrere qualche giorno in questa splendida località - Ostello piccolo ma accogliente con tutto quello che serve per trascorrere alcuni giorni in questa località. Io sono stato un inverno fuori faceva molto freddo ma all’interno era riscaldato ottimamente. La cosa davvero straordinaria è la possibilità di fare bagni termali. Personale simpatico e accogli In certi spazi si sente ogni tanto un po’ di odore di kerosene, Proveniente dalle stufe che usano per riscaldare. Non è assolutamente un problema
