Guest Reviews
- Nicole (8/5): Cute hotel - Location is excellent, you can walk to all the temples, everywhere in the square and the night bazaar. The Restaurant had surprisingly good food with decent prices, we ate there 3 different times. The room is very small and I believe had mold or something that messed with my allergies. I had to take allergy and cold medicine the entire 3 days I stayed, before I got there and as soon as I left I was completely fine.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Don’t expect to swim in the pool - Overall we liked it. The rooms were comfortable and the AC worked well. The food was good, and the staff was great. The waiter Jimmy was SO helpful and nice, he was our favourite part of our stay. Centrally locates, short 15 min walk to the night bazaar.
Now to the pool... it was disgusting. We didn’t even sit near it. It’s literally green and not appealing. We chose to relax in the lounge chairs near the restaurant instead. The need a major upgrade/cleaning to the pool.
- pene (8/5): Good location in Old City. - Friendly staff and comfortable room. Great location.
- Matthew (8/5): Great little unique hotel - Cozy little rooms, great location, cabin like and super friendly staff
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Fantastic place. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely rooms and hotel facilities.
- sheryle (8/5): perfect location Chiangmai - Friendly staff. Quiet oasis. Easy walking distance to temples, markets, fish spa and massage.
Great quality eatery and bar very social to passers by.
Wonderful ambience and grounds
- Kate (8/5): Great ambience, but walls are thin. - Great location and cool ambience. The staff are friendly and the food is good. One draw back was the noise level. The walls between rooms are thin, so plan on being awake when your neighbors are awake. We wore ear plugs to sleep.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful - Wonderful location, wonderful staff and owners, beautiful establishment
- Verified traveler (2/5): Smokers everywhere, loud, dirty & crap service. - Terrible. Rooms have nowhere to put your stuff. Bathroom is old and grotty, and toilet is stuck in a small corner, have to use sideways.Bedroom is ok but very noisy, you can hear every conversation next door, no privacy. doors bang, floorboards creak. pool tiny. Smokers are encouraged to smoke in restaurant and outside pool area, we could smell the smoke coming in our room. Disgusting! Bathroom smells of sewage.
Service truly terrible. We were given the bill in a rude manner for 2 drinks even though we were still waiting for the 2nd drink to arrive! Also, waited at least 10-15 minutes to order some cocktails another time clearly looking like we wanted served yet no-one served us so we left and went elsewhere. they weren't even busy. Included breakfast is awful, worst breakfast we had on our whole holiday and served by a young lady with a constant frown and unhappy face.
Our last night we were kept awake when a disgusting arrogant young American brought back a prostitute at 3am and spent the next 2 hours shouting banging around in a drunken state before attempting to "mate" with her. Then he fell asleep, missed his next day early trip he had booked and threw out the prostitute treating her like a piece of garbage. We heard everything as the walls are so thin! Hotel staff did nothing.
- Linda (10/5): - We loved Loghome so much we extended our stay. The room was comfortable and the entire place an oasis of greenery within the city. the owners were incredibly nice and helpful, organizing taxis when needed. Great location for walking around old town Chiangmai Mai. The restaurant was wonderful great ambience, great food and great staff! We stayed in a larger room which had a little couch as well as outside porch. Highly recommend this place!
- kim (6/5): Holiday Jan 2017 - Great little longhouse....clean and good location
Walls are very thin and can hear everything next door, even their alarm clock in the morning.
Breakfast didn't start till 7.30 so difficult to get early breakfast when going out on planned trip
- Robbie (6/5): Dark rooms Nice food. - I checked in late due to holdups in Bangkok airport. When I arrived it was close to midnight & the woman checking me in was incredibly understanding welcoming & very helpful. The rooms, however, turned out to be incredibly dark with absolutely no sunlight hitting the room through the day. The walls were paper-thin so you could hear everything on either side of you, snoring, coughing, sneezing, talking, walking, toilet activities and doors sliding, I felt for my neighbors because I'm a big snorer.... The food in the restaurant was very tasty & incredibly well turned out. I enjoyed myself but wouldn't go back.
- John (4/5): Easy access to city center - Management and staff very friendly and attentive to questions and requests. Rooms are not insulated from noise, so street traffic and others guests can easily be heard day or night. Decor and amenities are minimal, so budget travel should be the priority expectation here.
- gary (2/5): very disappointed and feeling cheated - The walls were so thin you could hear your neighbor talking in bed. On hotels.com it said down from 300 to 45 Australian. It was definitely not worth 300 and not even worth 45 per night. We were supposed to stay for 3 nights but left after 2 nights. How could hotels.com put up such rubbish? We are very disappointed with hotels.com for this. We have lost all faith in hotels.com.
- Cassie (8/5): Excellent location, great price. - Everything you need for a budget hotel. This is not a luxury stay it is a budget log cabin but I wouldn't have changed anything going about it. Clean and comfortable. Beautiful gardens, lovely restaurant, friendly staff. Would definitely return!
- Cc (6/5): depends who are your neighbors - The environment is excellent. Feel relaxing.
But the wall is so thin, the neighbors speak so loud, I could clearly hear every single word from them.
If you have good neighbors, the stay will be excellent, if not, good luck.
There maybe some better options for this price.
- Lola (8/5): Misleading reservation, only four twin bed rooms - Travelling with a friend we were very disappointed to arrive to be told we would have to share a double, albeit king size, bed have had our reservation made several weeks before confirmed as a twin bedded room. The receptionist explained that they only had four of these rooms and showed us reservations for single beds made before ours where people were prepared to share - we found this of no consolation but just increased the annoyance that both the hotel and Expedia are taking bookings for rooms that don't exist.
The hotel is a little oasis of calm off a busy street, the gardens are very well maintained and the pool area pleasant, there are several different areas to have a drink or snack. It is handy for the Saturday market but some distance from the nightly market or the more interesting daily Warorot market.
- Stewart (8/5): Nice - Great place, good location, Clean, safe, friendly staff. Would be even greater with tea and coffee making facilities in each rooms. (Not just VIP) Or even just a hot water distributor in the common area.
- Eliza (10/5): A wee gem in Chiang Mai - we loved Loghome. - Great trips locally but watch out for unethical tiger and elephant trips...only do the 'no ride' for elephants. Shopping and food...to die for. Loved Chiang Mai.
- Cesar (8/5): Great cozy hotel. - We had great time at this hotel.
Service is superb by everyone specially from Pham.
Locations is great inside the wall city and many restaurant around.
Price is excellent for what you get.
Breakfast is a la carte with many options.
Only down side of the hotel is noise of the other rooms due to the thin walls.
- Kyle (8/5): Nice hotel in the centre of old town. - Loghome Boutique had everything we needed for our stay in Chiang Mai. With free breakfast daily in the small but charming cafe and the small but comfortable room with a powerful AC system you can't beat this centrally located hotel. Also, the woman who runs the front desk was absolutely wonderful: very helpful and so friendly!
- Martin (4/5): Good Locality only. - Our room was tooo small with no shelf or table top of any kind to lay out any of your things. No tea or coffee making available in room. And the worst thing was BED BUGS. This seems to be an ongoing problem as there was allways a mattress outside a room airing in tge sun and someone consistantly spraying around inside and out rooms. Not one of the best stays of our holliday. I would only rate as 2 ** not 3. Would not reccomend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great little Boutique House! - The Manager was super friendly even when we checked in three hours early. When my dad got sick we ordered food and they offered to bring it to our room. Lanterns in the tree light up at night and glimmer in the pool. Cute statues and my flowers and orchids everywhere. It's only a few blocks from Taipei gate, and very easy to get around from there. The only downside are the walls are very thin and there is not a good light and mirror for a man to shave. I guess it's typical in Asia, to have harder beds...The price of the tours are not as expensive as most places- pretty good actually. When we asked the lady(Oar) at the front to book some tours for us, we paid right there, and she had a taxi pick us up out front. Great Service!!!
- Kelly (8/5): Basic Room in Garden Setting - The rooms are small, and you can definitely hear your neighbors. It was comfortable though, and it was nice to have a pool after walking around the city. They will arrange taxis for you if needed. Otherwise, it's a basic room with a garden setting. It would be nicer if it was for adults only as it seems like there are always kids running around/in the pool which makes it noisy.
- Catherine (10/5): - This place is amazing! I can't believe it actually was as great as the pictures. I will highly recommend this to others going to Chiang Mai! You feel like you are at a spa in the middle of the city!
- Robert (6/5): Good hotel but thin walls - Good hotel, good dining options and location. Walls too thin - could hear everything in adjoining rooms
- Nicole (10/5): Awesome hotel. - Booked 2 nights, ended up staying for 5. It was walking distance to everything in the Old City. The pool area is small but loved how it was 2 steps from our room. The restaurant is great and relatively cheap. The rooms are like a log cabin and are clean.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Old Chiang Mai - The room was very small and dark. No side table or lamp. AC okay. Easy for transportation or walking to tourists sights. Pool looked inviting, but was still early in the season and to cold to use. Restaurant was useless, but there were some nicer restaurants close. Staff had spoke very little English.
- Kim (8/5): Nice hotel great location. - Clean and simple rooms. Great location in the old city. Best part of our stay was the incredibly kind and friendly staff.
- julianna (8/5): good hotel for the price - great location. within walking distance to many shops, restaurants, attractions etc. staff was very sweet and accommodating. beautiful hotel grounds. only issue was the shower was not hot although it could have possibly been that many people were using it around the same time, not sure.
- Dueck Family (8/5): Nice location inside old city - Rooms are small but very nice. Like the other reviews stated that noise does transfer from room to room. Not as big a problem as I thought it might be. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and want to make sure that everything is as good as possible. They will arrange tours and any taxi rides that you may need. We enjoyed spending time in the open air restaurant and the pool. Good food. Would love to come back again.
- Gregg (4/5): Paper thin walls - We only stayed here one night. As we had an early morning flight. Check in was easy. Hotel arranged a Taxi for early in the AM.
Room was small but served its purpose. AC worked well. Bathroom was very small with a leaking Toilet.
You can hear everything through the walls. We had some young partying girls next door, telling nock nock jokes.
Glad we only stayed one night. Location is very good for Old town Chiang Mai.
- Hilary (8/5): Log home hotel - Nice room but you can hear everything from outside and your neighbors rooms
- Katherine (8/5): - Service was fantastic and the hotel manager was there for us for tourism guidance and booking taxis etc. Clean and tidy. Great stay.
- Alison (8/5): cute hotel - Super cute hotel near multiple cafe's, restaurants, bars. Nice Pool as well. Only complaint was the mosquitos in the room were pretty bad.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nil - No soap. Liquid soap not refill dispenser faulty. Walking on floor noisy.
- Didzis (8/5): A Central Inexpensive Hotel - Hotel is very conveniently located at the center of the old town surrounded by temples, cafes, restaurants and local businesses. At the same time, the area is very relaxed and quite at night. Room was very small and the worst thing was a non existent sound isolation - we could clearly hear what people are talking in a normal voice behind the wall and, of course, snoring. Staff was helpful and pool area was very nice. A good choice if your looking for an inexpensive hotel in the very center of the old town.
- sarah (6/5): Lovely hotel near many sights - Clean room, lovely staff, beautiful pool and garden area but no sound proofing in the walls. I could not sleep at night since the person next door to me snored like a freight train and would wake up and argue with someone every 2 hours. Weird experience living with that
- Verified traveler (6/5): Thin walls - We could everything the neighbors were saying and doing due to the thin walls, the rooms are small and dark, lots of mosquitoes, and the pool was icy cold. Beautiful jungle plants though.
- ProfB (10/5): Would go back again - The owner, Aof, was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfy, the shower worked fine. Nice chairs on the porch of the cabin but didn't even get a chance to sit there. Looked very relaxing. The hotel/guesthouse is within walking distance of many restaurants, markets, and other places of interest. The pool was lovely!!
- Cole (8/5): Nice hotel, great location. - Small but clean and comfortable room. Lovely grounds. Amazing staff!! They are so helpful and sweet. Would definitely recommend.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good location and setting - Quick and efficient check in and out by friendly helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay even though other reviewers were correct about noise issues. Comfortable bed and good air conditioning.
- maria (10/5): walls are paper thin... - the price we paid and the location and service were amazing... the lady at the reception is so cool and helpful, she deserves 5 stars, the place is cozy and it is near everything, unfortunately the cabins are so close to each other and you can even hear your neighbor snoring, we didn't have a pleasant sleep because of it... otherwise the hotel is fine.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Cute hotel, great staff - Cute hotel, great staff. Hotel has thin walls but all our hotels we stayed at in Thailand had thin walls so we were used to it.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Paper thin walls - The walls are paper thin. You can hear people zipping up their bags next door. The pool is always quite frigid. The position of the pool only allows it to get sunlight for an hour or 2 a day, thus it is always cold. This can be good or bad depending on your needs.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Everything was great - From the pineappe pancakes at breakfast to the kind and accommodating staff to the utter adorableness of the little hotel, everything was just fantastic. When you realize WHERE you are, it just gets better. Great location.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Worth the money - Good location, great staff, good English, they are very accommodating, the only problem is that the walls are paper thin, so your neighbors activities are amplified. Fortunately, I had good neighbors during my stay who were not loud. I've found that in many hotels in Thailand however outside of Bangkok. I will stay there again, the cost, location, and helpfulness of the staff makes it worth it,
- Alper (6/5): Paper thin walls - Room walls were paper thin, pool was small and didn't get sun a good portion of the day. Staff was very friendly
- Melissa (10/5): Great Stay - We stayed at the hotel Oct.5-7. The staff were so accommodating and the service was impeccable. The showers in the washroom were clogged but beyond that it was incredible!
- solo traveller (8/5): Good location, visually appealing - Nice to stay at, a bit over priced for what it was. Only thing I didn't like was how thin the walls were. You can hear everything your neighbour is doing or saying but ear plugs could solve that. Clean room, AC, English channels on TV. Easy to find.
